It took an incredibly long time before we could order, and we had to wait a long time for the food again. It took at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We got pancakes with Nutella. They looked decent, but not very appealing. They did taste good, though. Unfortunately, they didn't have any coffee in stock. I wouldn't have lunch here again.

Disappointing service The food was tasty, but unfortunately, the service was a major disappointment for me. There were two of us, and we sat down at a table for four. A waitress asked if there were two of us and indicated that we had to sit at a table for two. There was another table for four in the room with a "reserved" sign, which led us to believe that we could sit anywhere except at the reserved table. When I asked later if that table was actually reserved, it turned out not to be the case. The explanation was that we could not sit there because a larger group might arrive during busy periods, and we would then still have to move. I wanted to discuss this calmly and indicated that we were already seated before any new guests arrived, but I was interrupted during my explanation. When I asked if I could finish my sentence, the response was visibly irritated, and I was told: "These are the rules." When paying the bill, I indicated that I liked the food, but not the service. Instead of seeing this as feedback, I received a shrug and the response: “That’s possible.” When I pointed out that this very response illustrated my point, the answer was that they were “too busy” to deal with it. I understand that the hospitality industry can be busy and that there are rules regarding tables, but as far as I am concerned, being customer-friendly and communicating normally does not take extra time. If a customer gives feedback in a calm and polite manner, I expect at least a normal response. The food was fine (hence the one star), but because of the way we were treated, I will not be coming back here.

Everything we had to eat and drink was absolutely delicious, but what we liked the most was the wonderful service from the staff. We would definitely come back!🥰🥰🥰

The food was an absolute 10 and the atmosphere was excellent as well. Unfortunately, the service from the lady behind the counter left something to be desired. Upon entering, we were not greeted and were not shown where we could sit, even though she made eye contact with us and we had greeted her. Also, during our visit, we were not asked if everything was to our liking, while we were regularly looked in our direction from behind the bar. Furthermore, when paying the bill, we were not asked if we enjoyed the meal or how our experience had been. Instead, the lady was mainly in conversation with her male colleague. It is a shame, because the quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere deserve a hospitable and professional welcome. With a little more attention to the guests, the overall experience would have been much better!

When paying, a specific employee wearing a headscarf who had been standing behind the counter all day reacted very unfriendly when I asked to pay, and she indicated that she was on break; she was literally standing at the cash register! When I gave her feedback about our experience in a calm and polite manner, this was immediately denied and she talked over me. There seemed to be no room to receive feedback, which I found very unfortunate. My intention was not to have an argument, but rather to respectfully indicate how we experienced the service so that she could potentially take this into account. Instead of accepting apologies and stating that this was not her intention, she mainly became very frustrated and spoke with her hands. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we will not return.

Big portions, very tasty breakfast and great service. We waited just a few minutes (it wasn't busy yet).

What a bunch of toddlers working here. I had to wait quite a long time just at the entrance before the lady with the khimar noticed me. After all, she was incredibly busy chatting. After taking a seat, I looked around for a bit. The young man behind the counter was laughing exuberantly while on the phone, the young lady with the khimar was still busy chatting, and the other waiter was hiding in the back. After waiting too long again, I left. It gave me vicarious embarrassment. I went back a year later to get a bite to eat anyway. The employee told me to “act normal, or else I never had to come back” when I asked if I could throw away a piece of paper after buying 70 euros worth of food and drinks from them. A “customer service” course wouldn't hurt. This ruined my entire experience.

The girl working there was very rude. I had lost my key and called the restaurant after my visit. The phone was answered by a young girl with black hair who was completely unhelpful and made no effort to look for the key. I indicated that I had probably left the key in the restroom and politely asked her if she would take a look there. (I was no longer in Amsterdam.) Subsequently, I heard her say: “She wants to make her problem our problem.” I found this very rude. Additionally, I experienced no apology or any form of customer friendliness.

The fried egg sandwich was so delicious! A perfect way to get your protein in. There are also many mosques nearby for prayer and a nice shopping center for strolling. The wait was a bit long, but it was worth it!

I just ordered truffle chicken, and it tasted strongly of turmeric and wasn't seasoned well. There was no salt, and the chicken tasted like it came from a Turkish butcher, cooked in water. Such a shame!

What a hip place. It feels like a place they have a lot of in Oud Zuid. It was pleasantly busy, and it was easy to chat. And the food was excellent. The service was also very quick and friendly. And the food and drinks are inexpensive! And the woman in the headscarf wasn't rude to me at all. And I didn't notice the Rolex either. I wonder if that's true, because wearing a real Rolex like that isn't very wise these days. Highly recommended, but I already felt really old among all those young, hip people, haha.

I ate here Tuesday afternoon and ended up in the emergency room Tuesday evening. A CT scan revealed I had food poisoning. Absolutely no way. How can a fried egg and a slice of chicken on a sandwich go wrong? I'm completely speechless. And now, just before New Year's Eve, I'm €385 off my deductible.

The food was delicious today. However, we'd finished eating and asked the lady working there if we could order more. We ordered coffee, which was brought, and our plates and glasses were taken away, but the table was left covered in food debris. I think that should be noticeable when coffee is served, especially when you're clearing the table. We asked her to clear the table ourselves, and she didn't look at us very kindly. Furthermore, she was working/serving/cleaning tables while she was on FaceTime. All in all, the food was good, but I didn't like the lady working there.

Today we had a meal here. The lady wearing a hijab who served us was very rude and unprofessional. She made a mistake when processing the payment. Instead of apologizing, she snapped at us and made a sarcastic comment. After having to wait for over an hour, the issue was finally resolved by someone else who, fortunately, was friendly. We did not feel comfortable at all because of this lady’s behavior.

We had a chicken satay dish and requested that the farmer's fries be replaced with sweet potato fries. The fries were delicious, but the satay grits were dry. It was a shame because it looked delicious. When we paid, we were asked how our meal was. We honestly stated that the meat was dry, but I suspect this wasn't heard, as there was no response. It was a shame it was my first visit, but it was my last.

Great atmosphere, cozy atmosphere, and comfortable seating. Ordered breakfast and asked for salt and pepper. It was so delicious. They didn't use any salt or pepper.🤣🤣🤣

Good food but ordering via telephones is quite annoying if ur phones dead. I prefer option of having a menu on the table too.

Our grandson loved being able to dip all sorts of fruit in his pancake in the syrup that was in a bowl on the plate. And we really enjoyed our food too. We were on our way to a show in the Meervaart.

This is one of the best lunchrooms I know. Unfortunately, Google Review only has 5 stars, but I dare to give Lilly's Lunchroom even 6 stars. The food is really fantastic. I cannot indicate the best time to go, because sometimes it is packed and there is simply no room. Other times it is nice and quiet. But whether the place is full or not, your food doesn't taste any less... you just have to wait a little longer. But that makes sense. All the food is halal, so: tasty!! I don't know where they got the chefs from, but these guys really know how to make food. You really get value for your money. I can't say it any other way: quality, quantity and care. Service is also fast, friendly and helpful. Atmosphere: great. They have a long bench with several tables. Some small individual tables, larger round tables for larger groups and two high tables with nice chairs. The only downside: the corridor to the toilets. It could be shielded for the sake of beauty. Then the atmosphere is 100%+. Addition 26-04-2025: Yesterday I was there again. And I think they read the review. What I noticed is that they have made a kind of shield to the hallway of the toilets. if you're looking for some tasty pancakes and a muslim-friendly establishment, this is your place! I ordered pancakes with nutella and my companion chose a mortadella sandwich. All the food is halal and although the place is quite noisy the food is served fresh and fast . 😋

Tuesday April 15th. I came here and got the chicken truffle sandwich, which was phenomenal. More then that was my service my William. He was attentive and patient with us, being tourists, and even gave us some recommendations to go visit in Amsterdam. My recommendation, however, is that everyone who eats here should request to be served by William. He knows how to make a table have a good time!

We had Iftar here, but you must say that you have to wait a very long time for your food. We arrived 30 minutes before Iftar time so that we could order and eat on time. Food didn't arrive until 45 minutes after Iftar. Friendly politics, the people who came after us got their food first and the people who came first got their food last. Woman with Khimaar should look for another job. Grumpy all day, sour looking and what an attitude. No tasty food, no welcome, nothing at all. Throws the plates on the table and walks away.

I came for iftar and had arrived 30 minutes before iftar to pre-order, also one of the first to be in the shop. Our order was taken but we still didn't receive our food until 45 minutes after iftar. No, sorry, I don't think that's possible, the tent wasn't even busy. Not worth repeating. I also had a very arrogant and unfriendly waitress who wore a niqab. Looking angry all day and not even being able to say tasty food. Didn't get any compensation either. Sorry!

Great place for dinner, breakfast. Good prices, not expensive. Moctail was amazing, so do fries, kip sandwich was ok, too much bread. We had to wait for table like 10min. But that’s a sign that the place is busy - with new clients all the time. Staff friendly, nice atmosphere.

Cozy tent with enough seating for a brunch on Saturday. What really disappoints me is the staff, they don't seem to want to work. When you enter you are not guided to a table, and they only really come when you call them. The food is tasty and the portions are good for what you pay. There is little on the menu for vegetarians, which is disappointing. However, they will adjust the dish slightly if you ask.

A really bad experience. Food is delivered not to your doorstep but a few kilometers away. It was delivered over an iron fence through the pouring rain because the delivery person did not want to drive through the gate. So food was soaking wet. Then opened the food. A watery soup. Literally everything was burnt. Every sandwich. Even the lasagna was completely burnt. It was really impossible to eat anymore. For 2 zucchini soups. We paid €58 for 1 x lasagna, 1 x cheesecake and 1 x carpaccio. Very overpriced and a lot of regrets!!! Order via Ubereats.

I love Lilly's. Always a favourite spot for brunch with friends. The food never disappoints. As it gets more popular it is also getting busier. Almost always full. Great for the business, but make sure you have enough staff to serve the customers quickly. Sometimes it takes very long to get the attention of staff members. Also add some nice new varieties in the sweet section.

I have been coming to Lilly's for years: the food is tasty and of stable quality. This was also the case last week; had lunch with the family and again a nice lunch, but I really need to say the following; the food is of stable quality but the service and friendliness of their staff is absolutely not! We took 3 dishes and I wanted the tomato soup as a starter. The employee who took the order lacked friendliness and was distracted while entering the order. I asked another employee if the soup was still coming. After asking in the kitchen she came with all the dishes at the same time. I was surprised by that because I had ordered the soup in advance. This can happen and is not my biggest pet peeve. What I find very rude and unpleasant is that the boy who took the order came to our table to report that I had not asked for the soup to be served in advance. When I said that this was really the case (I cannot eat too many dishes at the same time), this person said: No, you did NOT indicate that and then walked away. You address a customer as you and do not trumpet, and even if you are convinced that you are wrong, you can still say: I have probably misunderstood you and that also solves the problem for me as a customer. Very disappointing that these types of uneducated people have to serve customers while insinuating that the customer is lying. I will not return here until I hear/read that the staff has been adjusted. NB: a few weeks ago I fished a dead fly out of the sauce at Lilly's and I didn't make a fuss about it and showed understanding. But I find that disrespect much worse

Went to this tent yesterday. The staff here are very disinterested and not customer friendly. We 3 ladies wanted to sit in a place where three other ladies had been sitting who were ready to leave. And we were also sitting, then a man came to us to clear the table and then he said that we are not allowed to sit there and just walked away without offering another place or thinking about it. Very cold and disinterested as if we should be happy to be in there. Apparently it is nothing new for the staff at Lily's because I have read several reviews about the poor service from the staff.

The cappuccino is delicious i also ordered the yogurt parfait which was good. the staff is very friendly and helpful we will definitely come back

Yesterday I ate the tuna melt with my husband. I couldn't finish it. It was so sour! Not normal. Paid a total of €47 for 2 drinks, fries and 2 small water bottles! Incredibly expensive. The quality and price ratio is not in balance! Not recommended. The staff was extremely polite and fast.

Open hours not kept. Gotten here for breakfast but they are closed at 10:20.... no sign of opening soon...
