The Breakfast Club in Kinkerbuurt

We came here twice while we were in Amsterdam and DAM. We got the avocado toast first and it was delicious and the brioche French toast which was to die for

First, it took twenty minutes before anyone even came to take our drink orders. Then I received a rendang that was still raw. When I mentioned this to the staff, they arrogantly replied that it was "just a piece of fat." Luckily, I wasn't naive and didn't eat it. When I went to pay, I mentioned it again, but they curtly responded with, "Okay, you get a discount." A simple apology would have sufficed; a free tea wouldn't make up for it. All in all, I absolutely do not recommend this place.

We found the 45-minute wait for three cappuccinos and one smoothie, which was already pre-made in a pitcher, rather long. We won't be back!

A very good place for breakfast. The waffles were good, but not spectacular. They had a good flavor. The presentation of the dishes was very good, and the portions were generous. The prices were blueberry pancakes 14 euros, avocado toast 13.50 euros, and espresso 3.20 euros. The place was nice, and the service was very good.

One morning we went there based on the reviews. We ordered and unfortunately it was nothing like that, it was average in presentation, too coarse, a bread, chopped avocado on top, one side of just sliced ​​tomatoes, a fried egg on top.

This is one of those places that you run into by accident and can make a whole trip worth it! The setting, the service and most importantly the food is phenomenal! The presentation, everything felt fresh, light yet filling! One of the best breakfast experiences in a long time!

I ordered the Avocado Toast for takeaway and I was disappointed. It’s supposed to come with “avocado smash, tomato, fried egg, toast, leek sprouts, bacon, and chili oil. I did not find any leek sprouts or chili oil in my dish and the egg was very overcooked and dry. As you can see in the picture there isn’t a lot of avocado, it was maybe on half of the toast. Honestly disappointing :(

Had a lovely, delicious breakfast. Nice ambience directly across from foodhallen, had a nice chat with guests next to us. Service was just right (not too much, not too little), food was great. Diverse international menu. Will be coming back.

Probably worst eggs I’ve ever had. Croissant was soft and the butter with it was frozen solid, impossible to spread. Garbage trucks all around the outside seating so could barely hear anything. Staff was nice

We’ve tried. We’ve tried really various times now but it’s always the same. The service is really unfriendly but today was the worst. Not a lot of customers, two people in service overwhelmed with 20 customers each, 30 minutes to take the order, food was okay and fast, attitude from the beginning unfriendly, and lastly after for more than 30 minutes not serving the additional ordered drinks, charging them on the check and being unfriendly was just once again the confirmation to avoid this place which is designed to nap tourists. Great potential, heartless execution.

So we ordered 2 Benedict Californias but asked to change bacon for salmon in one and they charged us not 1€ but 5€ extra for it. In total we paid for 2 regular Californias plus 5€ extra for the salmon. I guess my question is: if you took out bacon and put in salmon why I still need to pay for bacon?

Tried Blueberry pancake, bitterballen and orange juice. It was good. Recommend this place.

Food was pricey but enjoyable. The location with seats outside is nice as well. Staff was mediocre, from someone who worked in bars and restaurants. It's as if they were having blinders on. Cleaning a table, heading inside without looking around if someone wants to order. We spent there over an hour, this was happening frequently.

Really lovely spot for breakfast/brunch. I had the chicken waffle and it was amazing. The food was filling and reasonably priced.

The beer and coffee were delicious. The wine was so sour that it was almost undrinkable. The waiters also preferred to chat inside rather than serve us and ask how we were doing...

Sooooo good! Coffee? Good. Breakfast? Amazing. Service? Good! Prices? Appropriate for brunch. Armosphere? So good. I would definitely return has the Californian beenies, and a Sid elf beans ( thank you for bringing a side not in the menu!). My friend got the Mexican breakfast and I should come back to taste that one day the neighborhood is really nice. All that is left is to confirm if they are pet friendly. Every other must have in my list is checked!✅

First time visitor. Didn’t get food just a matcha latte and fresh OJ. Was so good and service was pretty quick. I went on a Tuesday mid morning so it was more than half empty which I enjoy more than a super busy place. Would definitely go back when in the area again

Disappointing brunch experience. We had brunch at The Breakfast Club, and it was overall quite disappointing. The service was slow — we struggled to get the waitress’s attention, and guests who arrived after us got their food before we did. I ordered the chicken waffle, which was small and underwhelming considering the price, while the English breakfast was okay but nothing special, especially given how much it cost. Scrambled eggs missed the spices and salad is without dressing. Avocado toast was just okay. The glasses were old and scratched which is a huge no for me. The vibe of the place is nice, but I think there are plenty of better options for breakfast or brunch in the area, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Arrived as walk-in and had 0 waiting time for an outside table. This was the best burrata sandwich I’ve ever had. The croissant I had was disappointing as it was not fresh at all.

I went with a friend an hour before closing time. I ordered a vegan burger and was given a day-old frozen bun that they had reheated (the bun was cracked). The service could be better.

Staff does not look at you when you enter, when you sit at the table and when you leave. Walk past several times without making eye contact. Food on the other hand is delicious.

Probably one of the best option for early hours. Don't forget to have reservation on weekend.

The matcha latte I ordered tasted very strange and as if the drink was seriously expired. The people I was with who tasted it even gagged. When I pointed this out I received a very indifferent response from the waitress. The chai latte I ordered next was unfortunately cold. The avocado toast didn't taste fresh either. Be aware that this also has bacon on it, which was not visible on the chalkboard advertising it nor was it mentioned by the waitress when ordering. Overall a very substandard experience and I will certainly not recommend this location.

We enjoyed a nice brunch here. My husband got a veggie burger and I got some delicious french toast.

Yesterday I wrote a review in which I wrote: "Wordt Caesar salad ever......". The Breakfast Club (or was it AI!) reacted today with "Hi Stephen, how good to read that you were satisfied with the Caesar salad." Wordt should have read WORST, and no I was most certainly not satisfied and now even less so!!

Very nice surprise just a stone's throw from our accommodation for breakfast! The pancakes are as beautiful as they are delicious, just like the avocado toast! The orange juice is fresh with squeezed fruit.

Very nice staff and the most delicious food. I had the blueberry pancakes, they were perfection. My companion had an egg and avocado bread and it also was sooo good. The drinks were nice as well, we defo would recommend and come back!

What a wonderful place this is. Fast service, friendly staff. The pancakes were nice and warm. We had the blueberry pancakes and perhaps more blueberries could be added to balance with the sweet maple syrup and mascarpone. Otherwise had a nice experience. Very good iced coffee with a strong bean.

We found a piece of hair in coffee and in toast, club sandwich was terrible, drinks and food awesome. The service was terrific. Overall 10/10 will come back especially for the French toast and a server with mullet.

Very nice discovery, fresh juice and delicious and generous pancakes. There were 2 of us and we recommend eating the avocado toast and the New York. To drink, we had a fresh orange juice and a john! We recommend this place!

I am a 20 year old girl who goes to the bar every day, the food is really excellent but above all the staff and the environment are even better. Always positive energy inside the bar with helpful and very kind staff. I 100% recommend everyone to come here

The homemade ice tea is just an artificial red syrup with water. The food was not the best and at the end they brought us a completely different bill (higher amount with products we never ordered) which we paid. NOT recommended.

OMG... The service bad... I got up to pick my own menu after two waiters passed by us twice...there was a knife and fork on the floor... The waiter passed by it, kicked the fork... Didn't pick it up... It took forever... 🙄

The service was very friendly and the atmosphere in the store was very pleasant. I thought the food was just okay. Scrambled eggs weren't too soft, which was good. Unfortunately I found the bread to be rather mediocre, soft Dutch bread. Maybe the other dishes can do more. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside.

Tea and latte were lovely. Breakfast was delicious 😋 had the new york and London portion size were generous. Staff were friendly.

We almost paid 70 euros for a 3 person meal and All we had was sandwiches omlette and drinks .waiters were not polite at all! They were all crashing things at the bar and making disturbing noises I asked for a orange juice and they didn’t even bring it not worth it at all go somewhere else

Had a delicious lunch (avocado toast). Good atmosphere. Nice location. Staff is friendly but they come across as sullen, no cheerful faces. I also thought it was a bit cold, I had the feeling that the heater was turned off.

The best breakfast I’ve ever had.

Very nice breakfast. Avocado sauce on my egg benedict sandwich was very tasty. Service was fine but was also quiet when we were there. Coffee also very tasty. I am a dairy drinker myself, but it is nice for non-dairy users that you can choose from all kinds of alternatives for your coffee: soy, oat, rice and coconut milk. I thought it was a bit fresh in the simple but tasteful place. That seems to be a known problem, especially in the rear. Update 2022: like elsewhere, they unfortunately suffer from a huge staff shortage. Long waiting times, often a line out the door.

The ‘English’ breakfast was insulting to the uk, hot dog style sausage, bbq beans (am I in kfc🤣) mushrooms that were like rubber and dry toast. And a waitress that kept eyeing up my boyfriend, awfulllll

We had a brunch taking “New York” and “Mexico”. The first was very good and plentiful. The second one, however, tasted little of Mexico and was not very abundant. Top service. We will gladly return.

Very good place to eat! We were there last weekend, the food was amazing. We had some questions about the food as I have many allergies and the chef was very kind to come to our table and help us out! I think his name was Rocco so props to him and breakfast club to having such nice employees.

Los cafés con leche eran muy sabrosos y pequeñas galletas agradables servidas con ellos. Tomé la tostada francesa (pídela con Nutella. Estaba delicioso) él tomó el desayuno de la ciudad de Nueva York. ENORMES porciones, ninguno de los dos terminó nuestras comidas. Yo diría que era un poco caro para el extra Nutella (4€ por una olla pequeña), pero la comida estaba muy bien presentada y era muy sabrosa. Los dos dijimos que nos encantaría estar así en algún lugar donde vivimos... pero nuestras cinturas no nos lo agradecerían 😂. Me encantaría volver cuando en Amsterdam.

Reservamos una mesa hace 1 mes para una sesión de 10 am, era muy tranquilo para un lugar de brunch. Cuando llegamos nos dijeron que nos sentáramos en cualquier lugar y no era agradable y se mostró a sentarse en una mesa, incluso si podíamos elegir. Pedí un té pero se servía en un vaso de vaso no en una taza/taza de café esto significaba que no tenía un sorbo hasta que se enfrió ya que no había mango y estaba demasiado caliente para tocar, tuve que pedir azúcar ya que no había ni dado ni en la mesa. Honestly one of the worst eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. It has a hard boiled egg with thin lemony sauce on a piece of lettuce with an old tomato on a weird dense “English” muffin. Some heat lamp warmed thin bacon and liquidy avocado paste. The orange juice was watery and too sweet. For nearly 20 Euros. The best thing was the coffee, because it was roasted down the street by Lot61 The waiter also nearly dropped the coffee on our table and ran off

The pancakes in the New York breakfast was good. However the menu didn't say syrup, when it arrived it was surrounded by too much syrup. It would be better served in a small cup on the side. The marshmallows are sweet and unnecessary. Extra fruit or blueberries would be a better alternative. Homemade ice tea was good and not too sweet. Service from waitress was excellent and polite.

Nice place, well located, small terrace in a quiet area, cozy interior. Apart from the form, nothing was wrong. Great prices for quality and remarkably slow service. For a plate of pancakes, count on around fifteen euros, too sweet, the taste of baking soda remains in the mouth, and more than 30 minutes of waiting. The apple pie is cheaper (around €5) and quite good but takes more than 15 minutes to arrive even though the room is not full. Orange juice is €4.50 for a small glass and iced coffee is €3.60 for a glass filled with ice cubes. In the end more than €25 for two and almost an hour wasted. I really advise against it.

Sad to see the quality of the Breakfast Club chain drop so much the past few years. we had Mexico City. There were no jalapenos, and the pico de Gallo was simply slices of tomato. The waitress was friendly :)

What I like about The Breakfast Club is the varied menu. There is enough for a very 'exciting' lunch, but also many classics. And everything is prepared equally delicious! Nice staff and really tasty coffee (not always easy to find). We are always open to feedback and take you seriously. I came to the Bellamyplein location a lot as a student, and yesterday for the first time as a 'mother' with my family. Nice to taste it and see that it is still just as tasty after all these years! Even though it was busy, everything was served quite quickly, which is great if you have a little one in your party. Compliments!

My friend and I split the English Breakfast (London under City Breakfast on their menu). We each paid €16 for the meal and it was enough for the both of us. We even had room for dessert which we split as well. We also ordered their Buttermilk Pancakes with Fresh Fruit (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and banana) for dessert and they were perfectly cooked! So soft and fluffy, just the way pancakes are supposed to be made. I haven't had a good breakfast in a while because I just cook simple food or eat bread and jam so having warm and well-prepared breakfast food was such a treat!

Food was delicious. The staff were so friendly and great sense of humour.
