Quite okay, a bit expensive for what it is. We had an eggs Benedict and pancakes. The Benedict was good but the pancakes were very boring with scant toppings.

Excellent coffee and acai bowl! Ideally located near the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. We arrived quite early, and the terrace was very pleasant.

From the moment I walked in, the hospitality was exceptional — the staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel more like a guest than a customer. The coffee was outstanding: perfectly brewed, rich in flavor, and clearly prepared with great care and expertise. Whether you’re a serious coffee lover or just looking for a great cappuccino, this place delivers on every level. The food was equally impressive. Everything tasted fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell that quality ingredients are used, and the menu has something for everyone, whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch. What truly sets Locals Café apart is the combination of excellent coffee, delicious food, and heartfelt hospitality. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and authentically Amsterdam — the kind of place you want to linger in long after your meal is finished. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors. I saw everyone hyping this place up online, so I decided to give it a try. I got the eggs benedict and the hibiscus ice tea. The eggs benedict were really mid, in comparison with the price I don't feel like the eggs were worth it. The ice tea however was really tasty! The staff was very friendly but the place itself lacks atmosphere. There are definitely nicer spots in Ams with way more flavor and better prices. However I would come here again to try out the other dishes.

The breakfast is very nicely prepared but it is unfortunately very disappointing taste! The avocado cream lacks any kind of spices! In addition, it is priced very high I have paid 25€ for a café and a loaf of bread with two eggs

The brunch was very good. The food was delicious, fresh, and of high quality. There were many great options to choose from. The waiters were very friendly, attentive, and professional. The service was excellent. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and enjoyable. The location is also very good and easy to reach. The prices are fair for the quality of the food and the excellent service. It offers very good value for money. I was very happy with my experience and would definitely come back again. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch with delicious food, friendly staff, and a fantastic atmosphere.

I ordered pancakes which I liked. But the problem was they put the syrup on pancakes before bringing to the table so,the pancakes were too soft and way more sweet than I actually like.

The eggs Benedict was delicious. Eggs were pouched perfectly and the flavour was so much more complex that a regular Benedict

Not surprised to see a few bad reviews about the drinks and the staff. The chai latte I had was pretty bad, it was lukewarm and poorly made, and the staff wasn’t friendly. The branding is great, but the place really needs to improve its hospitality and food. I'm editing this review months later because apparently someone doesn't like feedback and keeps reporting it from time to time

Very mediocre and getting worse. Seems that everything is prepared way before. Poached eggs are like warm. Bacon is cold, not fresh. Even after mentioning, we got few other lukewarm slices. Scrambled eggs cannot be made without truffle, why not if it’s fresh…. If they would step up their game by focusing more on quality, easy 4-5 stars.

Really nice spot to have good quality food and coffee tastes great. Minimalistic clean appearance, nice atmosphere(even if at times it gets crowded), overall a good experience and we like coming back here. We hope it will stay like so.

I was so happy to have found it – especially because of the gluten-free choices – and ended up coming here every day. It's very popular, so it's best to reserve in advance. I'll definitely be back!

We had a reservation for 11:00, but at 12:40, we were asked to leave because they needed the table. It’s important to note that we both ordered food and drinks. From the start, they pressured us to order quickly. After an hour, they kept coming to ask if we wanted anything else, even though we had already ordered more. It felt like the waitress didn’t want us there. The food was decent, but we won’t be returning.

Locals in Amsterdam – unfortunately, totally overhyped. My açaí bowl cost €14 and was a real disappointment: tiny, the açaí mixture was lumpy, and there was far too little fruit. It didn't fill me up at all, and the taste wasn't good either. My friend's experience wasn't any better: her yogurt was also a very small portion and definitely not worth the money. For that price, I expected much more. There are definitely better breakfast spots in Amsterdam – I wouldn't go back.

Nice vibe, good food and gluten free bread 🙌🏼 Heaters outside, so you could sit outside even on a chilly and cloudy day. Had the avocado and poached egg sandwich which was super tasty. Can highly recommend this spot.

When you ask the server at a "speciality coffee" spot how they make their filter coffee and they respond pointing "with that machine" -_- The waitress was also busy eating breakfast next to us, which we thought was a bit odd. After eating she proceeded to take our order. Sadly disappointed, especially with how high the prices are.

Rude service. Went for breakfast, was a nice day so asked for a table in the sun. The table was for four but there was two of us, but the restaurant was empty anyway. We was told by two staff members we had an hour to leave before even being offered a drink. We decided to leave. Waiting staff are very unwelcoming. Rude service.

21 euros for a small pseudo-crispy piece of bread (the crust is large to give the effect of a big piece, but it's not, trust me) with badly spread avocado that is absent if a topping is there to cover it, two eggs and bits of salmon scrap that the dog left for me (which cost 6 euros as an extra--a joke). nice place overall and good location, but never again for sure

My go-to place to have a nice brunch in Amsterdam. Food is delicious and you can order large coffee types which I really like. Last time they forgot about our order and we waited for almost 40 minutes for the food, but I will still keep the 5 stars bc this place is really worth visiting. I strongly recommend making a reservation.

I don't think I've ever visited Amsterdam without stopping by Locals Amsterdam – it's definitely one of my favorite coffee and brunch spots there. The staff is always incredibly friendly and genuinely tries to make your visit as pleasant as possible. You just feel welcome. The coffee is one of my absolute favorites (even though oat milk still costs extra, unfortunately 😄), and the food is consistently excellent. What I'd especially like to highlight: We went there in 2024 with a newborn and again in 2025 with a toddler – they were always very considerate, everything was very child-friendly and relaxed. That's not something you can take for granted, and it makes the place even more appealing to us. Sure, depending on the time of day and day, you might have to wait, but they always communicate that openly and honestly – and the line speaks for itself, after all. A clear recommendation from me: great location, fantastic atmosphere, and always worth a visit – even if it's just for a coffee to go. PS: I love your logo! ☕

First review ever, but aside from the cozy location and sunny terrace I would not recommend having lunch here. The sandwich that took half an hour to make was the most basic hummus/veggy toast I ever had. It costs €15 for one slice of bread and some veggies without dressing. Veeeery much overpriced.

A charming little shop with great Eggs Benedict.

The Turkish eggs were amazing. Truly one of the best things I’ve ever had. The tanginess of the cold yogurt along with the spicy chilli oil, the just-barely-sautéed greens and the delicious eggs were an amazing combination. If you like spice, you’re gonna love this. The breakfast potatoes were the cherry on top, though kind of a necessary addition since the toast on the side is definitely not enough for this dish. The eggs Benedict were a little mid. In the end we also had an incredible dessert that I can’t seem to remember- I think it was French toast with some sort of jam? Our drinks were also quite good. The prices are quite steep for the portion sizes, but not exceeding the average brunch prices in Amsterdam centre. The service was very quick and the servers were very polite! I would definitely recommend and I would visit again!

Contemporary brunch cafe in a delightful bohemian area, with great food and cool music. Try the truffle scrambled eggs with bacon or salmon, a great start to the day.

Amazing experience, food incredible. We were sat right next to the coffee bar despite having more desirable tables being available, I’d understand if they were booked but they remained empty for the remainder of our stay so a window table would’ve been nice, but other than that I cannot fault it

Overall nice experience and good service, I got pancakes, I would prefer to add maple syrup myself separately because it was extremely sweet and soggy and the fruit was not enough for the portion I had to get extra fruit which is additional 3,5 euros.

We visited Locals on Saturday while strolling around the neighborhood, and I must say our experience was very pleasant. We didn’t have a reservation, but the host was extremely kind, welcoming us with a big smile and doing her best to seat us as soon as possible. Even though she was busy, she took the time to talk to us and dedicate a couple of minutes. After a short 10-minute wait, we were seated and the experience continued to be enjoyable. Good food, excellent coffee, and great service. A 10/10 experience.

Our experience was a bit unwelcome since there were some things that really caught our attention and caused problems. First of all they told us to sit at a table and we were waiting a long time to order and other tables which were after us had already ordered. Secondly, we asked to have an oat milk cappuccino due to lactose intolerance issue and they put regular milk and that cause my friend’s day unbearable. Lastly at the register since they understood that we were not Dutch there was an unwelcome attitude and bad manner. The food was nice but it wasn’t a good experience after all.

Matcha latte is terrible. Matcha power looks and tastes oxidized. Undrinkable. It is a cup of spoiled milk.

I ordered the yogurt bowl with fruit, and well… there was hardly any fruit, and it wasn't anything special. It was expensive for what you get. My friend had a burger, and it wasn't anything special either. The coffee was good.

Excellent food, very kind waitresses. The only real problem is the guy at the door who seats customers. He's totally incapable of organizing the room, lacking empathy, and quite arrogant. He provides unsolicited information and constantly opens the door, making everyone else freeze. If it weren't for him, everything would be perfect!

We had a reservation at 12:00, we arrived 12:11 and we were told that they gave our table they have a 10 mins policy. Everybody was hicely settled so in 1 min they allocated the table and they were settled. Wow pretty quick. The attitude was terribly rude. And I dont think that there is anything special, just one of these brunch places.

Yes, the food is good, staff really friendly and try to accomodate you in no time. I moved in Amsterdam for one year and with Locals I started almost every weekend. You cannot go wrong with their flat white and banana bread, which are amazing.

Wonderful corner cafe with large windows on a quiet tree-lined street - its no wonder the name is Locals - sipping your handcrafted coffee and watching the neighborhood through the large windows - you feel "local". Staff is very welcoming, quick service, we had a latte and filter coffee with a small container of warm milk on the side. The filter coffee was the best cup of coffee I had in a 10-day visit to Amsterdam with notes from both the beans and roasting coming through with each sip. I also recommend the carrot cake slice - if you love frosting this loaf doesn't disappoint with a couple inch high covering of light cream cheese frosting. My partner found a chunk of a carrot as well highlighting the homemade goodness. Recommend reservations on weekends - outdoor seating available - although you would need to be hearty soul to sit out there in the cold wind the morning we visited. Would definitely return next time in Amsterdam.

On weekends, you can expect to wait for a table due to the crowds. Inside, it can be quite loud due to the poor acoustics. The coffee is really good, as are the pastries. The lunch dishes are excellent. There aren't many options, but it's perfectly fine for vegetarians.

We wanted to have breakfast together as we love specialty coffee, and this place seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the service was rushed; a few seconds passed between being seated and being asked to place our order. I understand that the place is small and that they unfortunately have to "serve a lot of people," but they should at least be understanding of the tourists and the -15°C weather outside. Is it really so difficult to wait an extra 120 seconds for our table? Furthermore, a piece of toast with avocado and two eggs costs €15.50, a bowl of yogurt with some out-of-season fruit is €13, and oat milk is an additional €0.50… It's a shame it was so cold; I would have preferred to be outside to avoid the noise. If the service had been pleasant, I wouldn't have bothered reading reviews of this coffee shop, alas…

The menu is brief, but perfect. They do what they do very well. The coffee is expertly poured and the eggs are flawlessly executed. Delicious way to start the day.

Locals is very popular right now, but we managed to get a table at short notice. The location is lovely and the service is truly excellent! However, in my opinion, the food is too expensive for what it actually is. There are other, more affordable places to eat!

Food was good, but we had to wait for it for over an hour, because they forgot our order. This was very upsetting, but at least we got free drinks & fries because of it.

I had poached eggs and avocado toast. Avocado needed more flavour, more salt, garlic perhaps, red onions, tomatoes, something…but otherwise all good 👍🏻

Our Hot drinks (Hot chocolates and Matcha Latte) were cold. Hot chocolate had little chocolate in it. Scrambled eggs were not proper scrambled and just liked plain omelette. Kids loved the pancakes. Banana bread was average. Overall disappointing experience.

The food was really good, but overall it was way too expensive. To add 2 pieces of bacon to my toast, we had to pay 5 euros extra. 5 euros for 2 pieces of bacon?! That’s insane. Overall the food was not “special” enough to be worth that much money. Also the tea was really bad. It was very murky and was only with very little water in it. When buying tea at a restaurant, I expect bigger amounts of hot water, since it’s just water. This was basically half a cup of water. Also the waiting time for food was 35 minutes, and all our drinks were done by that time. All in all the café is very noisy and I feel bad for the 1 waiter, who had to take care of orders and handing out the food to approximately 45 people. I counted 25 inside, and outside was very crowded too. He was in such a hurry all the time, which can’t possible be good for his health.

Great brunch spot and brilliant food! We recommend the eggs benny and the truffle scramble eggs or sourdough toast. The good quality is incredible and so tasty, on top of that the staff were very friendly and quick service. We had to queue to get in but this went down within a matter of minutes - I highly recommend Locals to anyone.
