Had an unexpectedly delicious lunch. I looked for a restaurant on a whim, walked into some locals, and after a friendly welcome, ordered a simple lunch (mustard soup, croquettes). The taste and quality of the food were excellent. A pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

We had a delicious meal here. The tuna steak was beautifully grilled and still nice and red on the inside, just as I think it should be. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Waardeloze bediening op terras. Zijn gan zitten in een kwartier tijd meerdere mensen die later kwamen werden eerder geholpen. 1x niet erg, 2x niet erg en kwam er een gezelschap naast ons zitten ook die werden eerst geholpen. Aangegeven en de dame van de bediening " het is druk". Nee, je doet je werk gewoon niet goed. Opgestaan en mijn geld bij de buren gebracht.

The food was delicious, the spareribs were wonderful, and the cheesecake dessert was also delicious. The service was friendly and the decor is beautiful and tasteful. Highly recommended. There were seven of us, and everyone loved it.

Ordered a carpaccio salad after carefully explaining I am highly allergic and I will get very sick if I consume gluten. The salad was recommended to me by the chefs/staff. When I got my order, I noticed a balsamic sauce (which can contain gluten), but I figured they made sure it didn’t. After I had two bites, I got a gut feeling it wasn’t right and asked the waiter to please check the sauce. They came back and told me it did in fact contain wheat. They did apologize and offered a financial compensation (took a few 10s off the bill). I was very disapointed mainly because the servers handled the plates very carefully to eliminate any cross-contamination. They also had limited options for diner. Couldn’t have fries or anything from the oven (warm dishes) because of the risk of cross-contamination. They did have an allergies card to check if the dish containes any gluten.

Het personeel en de snelheid waarmee de meisjes werkten was simpelweg geweldig. We hebben maaltijden besteld, medium die echt alles behalve medium waren. De hoeveelheid vlees was zeer klein. Mijn vriend had alleen vlees, en ik had dat hetzelfde stukje vlees maar met twee gamba’s waarbij de darmen van de gamba’s en nog geen zaten. Wij waren uit eten gegaan om echt een heel drukke periode positief af te kunnen sluiten met een heel fijn diner. Puntje paaltje, stond de air freyer binnen 5 minuten aan en aten thuis nog een maaltijd. Bijna € 70 betaald en sorry, maar dit was het zeker niet waard. Tot slot…. Er zat geen patat beide maaltijd reserveert. Dat waren ook nog vijf euro extra kosten. Dan zou je zeggen dat je een behoorlijke zak patat krijgt, het was goed dat ik m’n leesbril op had.🧐

Ordered a €23 dish, and there wasn't even half an ounce of meat on it, as raw as it could be. Two pieces of zucchini, a corn on the cob, and half a carrot were all there. So they ordered a side of fries, since that wasn't included for five euros. We went home and fired up the air fryer.

We ended up in this cafe by accident, following the advice of the veterinary clinic staff — and were absolutely delighted! Every dish we ordered was beyond all expectations: • zucchini cream soup with salmon — tender, rich • chicken skewers — juicy, with an excellent marinade • tuna sushi — the freshest • mango-passion fruit smoothie — refreshing, not too sweet • and, of course, my husband's dish — Surf and Turf (steak with shrimp) — perfectly fried steak and shrimp with a bright taste The place is very atmospheric, cozy, with pleasant service. You can feel the care for quality and customers. I'm glad that we learned about Medemblik, and next time we will definitely come back — not only to this cafe, but also to explore more of the city. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A real gastro-diamond!

The food and service were top-notch. There was nothing to complain about. We sat outside and it was very cozy. Definitely worth recommending.

On our way from Apeldoorn to Texel we were advised to have coffee here and on the way back from Texel to Apeldoorn we went here again. Then we had lunch and coffee. Delicious food and drinks in an atmospheric ambiance where you are helped by very friendly ladies. Take some time to enjoy the delicious food and you really won't regret it Our thanks for the smooth service and good luck.

Ordered a platter for 2 people to eat. According to the menu, a platter with hot and cold snacks at €15 per person. Apart from pieces of breaded chicken, it turns out to be only seafood and we are not fans of that. It was pointed out to the menu that it did not state what the contents of the shelf were and that if we had known, we would not have ordered this. The waitress answered that this varies per day/week, so it is not on the menu. When you order it, tell us what it entails, you still have the option of another choice, unfortunately so you wasted money and ordered something else. Paid full price.

This has been our favorite place in Medemblik for several years. Great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. This year, unfortunately, the menu and the level of food have changed for the worse. Luckily, the vibe is still good.

Located in the downtown area, the store is not big but the inside is relatively deep. The pork ribs are stewed very tender and taste good.

Nice cozy cafe!! Good service. Cozy, beautifully situated terrace! Nice beers on tap! And when your glass is empty! Then you will quickly be helped with a full one!! The sushi is highly recommended!!!! Super tasty

Very nice location, very good food and so friendly staff. We made a reservation for Christmas a few weeks in advance. Asked via Email if they can handle foodallergies and they said yes. The day we´ve been there for dinner was so much better thann we expected. They were absolutely prepared for all. The service was great and they served all in the way I´m allowed to eat it. We never expected that in a "normal-prized"-restaurant!!!! We are absolutely delighted with this restaurant and can recommend it without hesitation. Thanks to you all for this wonderful evening! we definetely come back again when we are in this area.

Just like Rumors further down the same street, Locals is a fairly okay place to have a bite to eat, but it is not special or very good. Recommended... no Not recommended... no, not at all.

We only had a drink here, very friendly and knowledgeable service. The music wasn't too loud, we could still talk quietly to each other. Wonderful location, recommended!

Had a drink here with a snack board. The olives promised on the menu with the drinks board were missing. That was a shame . Also tea and beer and that was fine. Young staff on the day we were there did their best, but they can still learn a lot about hospitality and how to serve a drink.

Even gevraagd of de hond mee naar binnen mocht, dat mocht. Dus hup naar binnen. Tafeltje voor 4. Hond onder de stoel en drankje bestellen. Menukaart bestuderen en wat er allemaal op stond lijkt allemaal even lekker..... Watertandend bestelde we wat we echt het allerlekkerste leken. En ja hoor BINGO!! Allemaal even lekker, gezellig en gemoedelijke plek. Alles werd nog ondersteund door het vriendelijke personeel. Een dikke aanrader!!

Eating at Locals in Medemblik is definitely recommended. A beautiful place with good and fun staff. The sushi is highly recommended, as are satay and curries. Meat may be slightly less well done. In addition to dinner, we also had lunch here and it was possibly better than dinner. Definitely worth repeating!

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubs mehrfach in dem Restaurant. Sowohl zum Mittagessen auf der einladenden Terrasse als auch zum Abendessen im stilvoll eingerichteten Restaurant waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das Essen ist sehr frisch und lecker und der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam! Aus unserer Sicht eines der besten Restaurants In Medemblik!

I had a fantastic experience at Locals Grand Café in Medemblik. The staff was particularly friendly and attentive. The service was fast, so we didn't have to wait long for our order. The food was of excellent quality, with a varied menu offering something for everyone. The mocktails were a real treat; they were creative and flavorful, perfect to enjoy during our meal. It's just a pity that there were many smokers on the terrace, which could be annoying, especially during dinner. All in all, Locals Grand Café is highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience in Medemblik!

Very disappointing experience eating here. Ordered 2x satay + 2x hamburger. This was wrong, the fries were small, hard and cold, the satay sauce was not fresh, dry and grainy, the chicken itself was not fresh, not tasty, the atjar had dried out and the burgers were still red on the inside. Together a dramatic combination. Wow, you would think, when reporting these shortcomings we were fobbed off by the team leader with 'I reported it to the kitchen...' The white wine and prawn crackers were good, of course no tip for the bill of 118.40...

The girls on the staff are very kind and helpful. Highly recommended! 😊

Ondanks het terrasweer zat het binnen ook gezellig vol, en dat snap ik, goede vibe💫 Het is een perfecte mix van toeristen en jawel “Locals”

Tijdens ons verblijf in Medemblik waren we op zoek naar een eetgelegenheid. De kaart van Locals zag er prima uit, dus gingen we daar naar binnen. Er waren 2 tafeltjes waar we uit konden kiezen, dus namen we plaats. Regelmatig kwamen er mensen binnen, ook die gereserveerd hadden, dus we gingen ervanuit dat het wel goed zou zijn. Helaas, wij zijn niet overtuigd! Onze bestelling bestond uit een hamburger, kipsaté en een broodje sticky chicken. De hamburger was mwah, kipsaté idem, maar de sticky chicken was echt niet lekker. Niet vers gemaakt, we hadden het idee dat deze opgewarmd was in de magnetron. Frietjes waren wel lekker. Broodje vooraf was wel erg lekker en de bediening was heel vriendelijk. Maar als wij nog eens in Medemblik zijn kiezen we toch een andere eettentje.

Really nice places to chill out for a while with friends. We tested only the soft cocktails and a few starters, nothing to say the quality is there, the only small problem with the restaurant breakdown is the cheese tortillas which stick to the paper if you wait too long, otherwise like almost everywhere in Holland the prices are not really cheap, that's the only downside, but you have to get used to it being very reasonable we got away with €60 for 4.

First time visiting, and I'm in love. Super pleasant service, cosy place with seating available outside also. The menu isn't a mile long yet offers something delicious for every stage of appetite. I had nachos, and they were the best nachos I have ever eaten. Perfectly oven baked, largest I've ever seen, and the doughy flavour and texture was just 👌🏻 will definitely be back for sangrias and to taste the rest ♡

Dinner for 3 people Friendly and fast service that is easy to communicate with English, German and Dutch. Large selection of drinks. Drink prices are high but normal for the region (€6 for 0.5 draft beer). Food ready super quickly and super tasty. We have fish salad with a lot of fish. A good perfectly fried rump steak. As well as a sea bass. Vegetable side dish crunchy but not very much. Be sure to remember the filling side dish that is not included. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to come again.

Very good restaurant. The dishes are delicious and the dining room is much larger inside than it appears from the outside. From Thursday there will probably also be sushi here. I had already seen it, but hadn't eaten it yet. But we will definitely try it. Will come again.

Bij de reservering werd er netjes aangegeven dat er een grote (ietwat) luidruchtige groep aanwezig zou zijn en er live muziek bij hen aan tafel gespeelt zou worden. Wij hebben hier alleen maar van kunnen genieten. We hebben geen hinder ondervonden en zijn niets tekort gekomen qua bediening ivm de grote groep. Het eten was heerlijk en snel aan tafel. We zijn geholpen door erg sociaal en gastvrij personeel. Ik zou dit Grand Cafe bij iedereen kunnen aanraden!

Surprisingly delicious tonight. Finally a restaurant with something different on the menu. Delicious meal from the pulled pork burger. Smooth and fun operation. Fast service from the kitchen, ideal for eating with a toddler! And a play corner (you don't see it anywhere anymore, the tablet could finally stay in the bag again) where you and your toddler are also placed close to. Here they understand how to deal with children! 5 stars! *P.S. Ate once 2 years ago and for the pregnant (or BOB); also mocktails. Plus point.

Found this place during a weekend getaway. First had a delicious lunch, then came back the next day for dinner with 3 small children who could play in the play corner. Super fun and well served by a blonde girl! Too bad we live so far away because otherwise we would certainly have come here more often!! Keep it up! 😀

Ate here for the first time with my husband this afternoon. What a success it was! Nice and enthusiastic service, atmosphere and decor very cozy and cozy, menu offered plenty of delicious options for both vegetarians and meat eaters. I had the goat cheese sandwich and it was as tasty as this, I haven't had it often! Really enjoying it. The smoothie was wonderfully creamy and tasty, just the way I always want it 😍 We will definitely keep coming back here!!

Very nice staff. There are more seats than expected. The food came quickly and at the same time. The risotto was fabulous. The savings ribs ok. The rump steak is a poem. Served with crunchy vegetables in a pepper cream sauce in which the cow didn't die a second time but which wonderfully enhanced the taste. Prices are ok.

Heerlijk geluncht op het terras, werden snel en vriendelijk geholpen. Het eten was lekker en lied niet lang op zich wachten. Al met al een goed cafe die niet te duur is.

Wij kwamen met grote groep en kregen speciale kaart (ivm groep). Op zich te begrijpen. Maar als je dan op die kaart alleen je allerduurste gerechten zet en ook nog eens zonder friet/aardappeltjes (terwijl de standaard kaart dat wel inclusief heeft en ook nog eens voor een veel lagere prijs) dan voel je je wel bekocht. Eten was best aardig maar prijs kwaliteit was zoek.

Heerlijk gegeten, supervriendelijke bediening en wat lief dat ze voor onze meegebrachte newlyweds de tafel hadden versierd met rozenblaadjes en hartjes! De spareribs, biefstuk en burger waren zalig!

Wir saßen draußen an der Straße. Die Bedienung kam schnell, war wirklich freundlich und das Essen schmeckte lecker.

Aanrader gekregen van de buren om hier te eten. Leuke tent bij aankomst. Personeel erg vriendelijk en representatief. Carpaccio met broodje vooraf. De carpaccio was erg Lekker. Hoofdgerecht de kip saté Vond deze wat matig van smaak maar overal wel lekker.

Der Apfelkuchen war lecker und ein großes Stück. Der Käsekuchen war ebenfalls lecker ich empfand das Stück eher als klein. Der Service war gut.
