Loetje in Nieuwe Pijp

We had dinner at Loetje on December 10th and were pleasantly surprised. The service was super friendly (especially the female staff member), which made us feel truly welcome. The food and atmosphere were also excellent.

Food is always as expected. Tasty, properly cooked, french fries are always well done never with bad/old oil, wines are good and good quality for the price. Wide enough choice both for food wine and beers.

Yes, it's certainly not my first time at Loetje. I ordered a "classic" Balinese dish and a small salad. I started with a steak tartare, which was a nice size and average in flavor. Then, unfortunately, the steak arrived in two small pieces. The weight might be okay, but a steak as a single piece is much tastier. The salad was different than usual, more like a mixed salad. (But the flavor was quite good.) It's a shame, again, that the steak was split in two. But I'll try it again.

The food is at the Loetje standard, but the service is just slow and careless. It's a shame.

The food is, in a word, amazing!! Only for those with back problems: the chairs are hard. But most people don't mind. And there are too many tables in the room. But the food, the steak, is perfect.

It was a restaurant I went to with high expectations, but didn't really like. The meat dishes were a bit above average, but the steak tartare was very good. After that, my only thought was that you don't get what you pay for.

We had dinner at this casual typically Dutch restaurant which had a good atmosphere. It served a simple menu with limited choices. The veal liver was delicious with a generous portion. The risotto was okay. The dressing on the salad could be improved - unfortunately it tasted as if it came from a low quality mass-produced source. Service was generally good, however it was slow to get the bill at the end of our meal as the waiting staff seemed rushed off their feet.

Not good, staff half asleep and the steak looked more like a piece of rubber than meat.

This excellent Loetje restaurant is located in the heart of De Pijp on Ferdinand Bolstraat in Amsterdam. The interior is beautifully and atmospherically decorated, with small and large tables for groups of all sizes (the chairs are very comfortable). The service was friendly and welcoming (we were helped quickly and even came by regularly to ask if everything was still to our liking). We thoroughly enjoyed our carpaccio and steak!

We had such a great experience here. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole evening even better. The menu is impressive, especially for anyone who is vegetarian or vegan. They even have a 3D printed vegan steak, which our vegetarian friend tried and was almost in tears because it was that good. I’m not vegetarian myself, but everything I tried was excellent. The risotto was perfectly creamy, the cauliflower starter was delicious, and the burrata was fresh and flavorful. The chicken liver was rich and perfectly done. Another friend ordered the vegan beetroot burger and loved it, and the shrimp croquette starter was also a hit. It’s also one of the few places in the area that can easily accommodate a large group last minute. Overall, a warm atmosphere, creative menu, and truly friendly staff. Highly recommend.

I found a high-priced steak house recommended by locals online. The steak cost about 26 euros for 150g. The steak was tender and delicious, but the small portion for 26 euros was not very filling, and the service staff were not very friendly.

We were here on a Tuesday evening and it was buzzing with people. Really nice place. The staff were very friendly and the food was very very tasty. They had a great selection of wine too. I would say it was a very simple menu but that meant it was done very well.

The service is not good, it looks like people are doing everything as fast as possible without being worried about the quality and care for costumers, and also the food made me feel sick afterwards.

The best steak I ever had, I’m not a steak enthusiast normally but a friend recommended this place and oh my it lived up to the expectations! Great food, great hospitality!

We were walking with our suitcases after a long trip and stopped by this place, and it exceeded our expectations. The meat is completely authentic, so tender and cooked to perfection. The gravy tastes delicious. If we come back to Amsterdam, definitely this is our dinner option.Thank you!

We ate here with 5 people, at 5pm and the staff was very friendly and the food was served very quickly. I had a burger and a delicious dessert.

The service, the food, and the location! I was very satisfied with everything. They were very friendly and welcoming to tourists, so I felt very comfortable.

Sadly, the iconic Loetje has lost some of its shine and quality since becoming a brand. But perhaps I'm just nostalgic, since I was already going to Loetje when they still had size 1.

I will definitely come here again, excellent lunch, quiet, and a well-working air conditioning.

Tasty way of cooking steaks in abundant butter gravy. Was a bit put off by waiter telling me that "they need to make money" when I asked some tap water for my niece (they wanted me to buy a whole bottle of overpriced water). Nice ambiance.

A full bottle of coke thrown over us without a reasonable excuse and without a cloth to dry us. Then we had to dry the floor ourselves. Not ideal. The Loetje classic is delicious as always.

The service was incredibly slow. We waited at least half an hour before we had our food. The fries were soggy, the steak came in two pieces. Loetje is not what it used to be. A steak, hamburger, fries, salad and a few normal drinks for €80. Avoid.

The meat was really good and the gravy very tasty. The service was average : a drink and a meal were forgotten on our order. Even if there was a commercial gesture, this should not have happened as the restaurant had only a few clients at that time.

Yesterday we sent back 2 steaks, very disappointed and the man was standing behind the bar with a bag of chips to his mouth. We ate 1 bite of salad and 3 fries because we had to wait for our new steak that was not cooked properly again, pfff. We ended up paying 33 euros because we had touched the salad and fries, what a scream!!! Never again in the Ferdinand bol!!!

This place treats people in a discriminatory way. Forget about the taste — the service was absolutely terrible.

Did have the service and they are famous for their meet. I would say the amount of sauce did it, but it's not for my top ten. Decent amount of beers and drinks.

I was really there for one thing: their famous steak. And it didn't disappoint. What I got was a beautifully tender piece of beef, and the sear on the outside was just perfect, giving it a bit of a crust that I really look for in a good steak. Inside, it was juicy and packed with flavor. If you're after a no-nonsense, classic steak experience where the meat truly shines, Loetje is definitely a place you'll want to check out.

Food was what you expect from Loetje. Only positive point. However, the service was really something to be ashamed of. It was difficult to make a reservation by telephone and we did not feel welcome. When we got there, it turned out that it was almost empty. Staff received us in anything but welcoming. With effort and a deep breath of air the order was taken. During our time we were not asked ONCE if we wanted something to drink or if we liked the food. Music being played resembled a cheap disco on el Arenal. Staff walked in with airpods. Overall a bad experience. Loetje is often a good experience at other locations, but here it was an experience that was completely useless due to the staff's complete lack of motivation.

Service was top notch, the gravy on the steak was like taking a bite of seawater.

Unfortunately the service was very slow and the food was cold. I also go to their other branches but this one was a disappointment. I hope they perform better.

The food was, as usual at Loetje, very good. Steak was perfectly cooked and nicely browned on the outside. Taste was delicious again. Too bad it has become so terribly expensive and because I don't think our waitress was having her day, it was very pleasant and pleasant again.

The steak here is so freaking good. Always a great cut and perfectly prepared. “The gravy” is delicious!! I keep coming back.

Didn't ask for how I wanted my steak amd gave me a medium rare, but more on the rare side. There were hardly any gravy to soak up the bread. Hard to give this location as a recommendation to a friend.

Ate at Loetje for the first time, the steak is very tasty and the bread for the gravy is also really great! Unfortunately, service was sometimes delayed.

About three weeks ago I ran into this Loetje's office. I have type 1 diabetes and I was out of sugar. The people who worked there that evening helped me so very kindly. What great guys!!!!

Very good restaurant! The steak is excellent (we ordered the XL), the pumpkin soup is well spiced and the cocktails are great (I took the rum based house cocktail - I don’t recall it’s name) When ordering the steak - take notice that the steak comes with little or minimal side dish. As in all restaurants here - recommended to make reservation in advance.

The staff are friendly and polite. The menu is not very extensive, but if you enjoy meat, any of the steak or burger options will satisfy you. The garlic sauce steak is recommended. There are also dessert options available.

1 of us got ordered steak without bread. And fries. Then a salad oh the Salmon Salad She thought… No, not salmon. I eat it. No, it must be the house salad. My steak without bread onions and mushrooms too small. But started. It turned out that it had been delivered incorrectly after complaints And the salad turned out not to be for us. And had to return or pay immediately. Pffff I said I want to get out of here. Coat covered in grease. Damage form had to be completed. I didn't feel like paying more. Claims form was snatched. Evening ruined. Too expensive extra shit that you have to pay a lot for. I'll pay the bill this week anyway. But never again. Bah

Very cozy and nice place. Very tasty food too. Too bad that I ordered an espresso and pornstar martini afterwards and got both in a glass that also contained the table candle? I don't know if they just ran out of martini glasses, but I thought this was a shame. We also had a nice time.

It was one of the best hamburgers I ever had while in Europe!

Cozy atmosphere, attentive service. Boris was our host and had nothing but praise for his qualities in terms of service, insight, initiative and hospitality. Hospitality top par excellence, you rarely come across one like this. The super tender and tasty carpaccio pesto, burrata and shrimp croquettes were delicious. Unfortunately, the beetroot tenderloin with garlic gravy (which we had been looking forward to for so long) was really dry. Not the quality we were used to at Loetje. A delicious red wine completed it (also recommended on the menu). Creme brulee superb. Cheese board or something like a 'beet compote' was really not a success. Sour and spicy? Something sweet would go better with the strong cheeses. All in all we enjoyed a wonderful evening out.

We eat at Loetje every week and it a always delicious! I'd like to mention Mees who works at Ferdinand bolstraat Loetje, he is a very nice guy who always makes sure everything is perfect! Ferdinand bolstraat is our favourite Loetje. Thank you Mees! And we will see you Soon. Kind regards Paul.

Good food and service. It's a shame that dogs are allowed, especially in a setting where everyone is close together.

Very peaceful and quiet place to eat. We went at lunchtime (2:30 p.m.). The meat is highly recommended (there are three measures on the plate). The sauce is very rich. We ate it with the sweet potatoes and the house fries, and some meatballs - fricandelle -. With a meat dish - the middle one - and the accompaniments of potatoes, two people eat.

Had a delicious meal with my team, small mistakes were generously corrected on their own initiative.

Yesterday I ate the ferdinandbol at Loetje's. Had a nice satay. The rest of the fam had steak. Tasted good. I had left a bag under the table where we were sitting. Only found out today. Thought I'd ask if it had been found. An extremely friendly employee at the reception desk said yes, we found it. It was neatly folded on the table where we had been sitting. Thank you.

Very tasty food especially the steak in gravy but very noisy and a lot of noisy people

I don't know where to begin! But we are totally sure not coming back! 1. 10 hour waiting for food, after 35 minutes drinks, After long time waiting we don't receive the correct order, and the final touch... They were collecting food that we didn’t eat! We had a horrible night Indeed!

Excellent food, but too loud music, too tight space, and the food took well over one hour to arrive after ordering. The people were friendly and professional but the speed was an issue for us. Perhaps a better destination on a week day.

This restaurant has a name to protect. Their prices are matching their name, but their flavours are very disappointing. The service was impacable. I won't be visiting anytime soon.

One of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam - the steaks are impeccable, good selection of beers, and prices are reasonable. The service is the best in Amsterdam - they really know how to run a restaurant! Update September 2024 - still excellent!

We order a simple meal. It came quick and it was really good.

Saturday morning lunch, tried fried eggs on bread, club and tuna sandwich, veal filet with chicken liver & onion. Everything delicious + superfriendly staff in the hipsterest and quietest area of Amsterdam. Wow

First I ate at Loetje Marina, everything was so good that the next day when I was in the center I ate at their other restaurant and that was a mistake!!!!! I had serious stomach problems later after the same steak as in Marina. I recommend the owner of Loetje to take care of the place in the center. In Marina there was good food and better service!

Incredible food and value for money. Packed to the rafters but it had a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Steak with sauce, sweet potato fries, salad and deserts were all excellent. Waiters were stretched too thin but were very good when they were available.

Terrible service. After being given a table we waited for over 20 minutes without a drink or any attention whatsoever from staff. We went elsewhere for dinner.

Fantastic, we have been there twice. Good service and food. Recommend to my friends and will come back again.

Service was slow and poor. We had to reask for water. They had a weird dish with the lovely steak coming with 4 slices of bog standard white sliced bread. I said I didn't want it and they said what are you going to mop up the gravy with. I had to order a side of chips which everyone else was having to do as nothing else came with the steak. No veg or chips. The veal came with bacon but they had run out of onions. They asked if we wanted to round up the bill and didn't like it when we said no. Over priced.

The 4 of us ate. Shrimp croquettes, carpachio and eel were good. Ordered 4 steaks as main. 3 out of 4 steaks were cold. The fries were also cold. After returning the steaks, I received my XL well done. A bit of a shame for an XL steak costing almost €40. Of all Loetje locations, it is by far the least efficient based on this experience.

Nice meal. Unfortunately I couldn't make a reservation, because they don't do that at Loetje. Still inconvenient if you have a bachelor party of 14 people.

Florence received a very hospitable welcome despite the enormous crowds, arranged a table for us, very representative, extremely friendly and of course delicious food!

Simply tastier steak with fatty gravy, delicious dipping with bread or fries. Small simple menu and the service is friendly but doesn't know much about wine (not that you go to Loetje for the wine). Dessert, crème brulee, can't really go wrong, but with too little caramelized sugar it still works. It was very nice and delicious!!
