Delicious Loetje steak in delicious Loetje gravy! Friendly and smooth service.

Terrace has a nice view over marina. Staff is very friendly but the food is mediocre. We ordered a medium rare, and after an 1hour wait- the stake arrived well done. Even the waitress agreed the stake is not what we ordered but to wait for another hour was not an option. Steak was juicy but it lacked flavour. So if you are a pro and you KNOW what a good steak is - spend your money somewhere else.

The Loetje steak with fries and lettuce was so delicious and tasty again. Excellent service and excellent beer. Great window seat with a view over the water. It is and remains a top business.

Food was very enjoyable. It's just a pity that there can be a long wait between meals, especially if you forget that a dessert was ordered. You can then easily wait 40 minutes for your dessert after you have given it more than 20 minutes. Shame. Furthermore, excellent location and friendliness.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal at **Loetje aan 't IJ**, beautifully situated on the water at the Amsterdam Marina. We had a 3-course menu through the Albert Heijn promotion, and the food was great! 🍽️ The restaurant is spacious with many tables and was completely full, which is of course a good sign. Still, we thought it was just a bit too busy and noisy. This is not a place for a quiet, relaxing dinner, but rather a well-oiled machine where everything runs smoothly. Maybe on a weekday it is less hectic. Pros: ✅ Fast service: despite the crowds, we didn't have to wait long. ✅ Friendly staff: attentive and professional. ✅ Good location: beautiful view over the water. 🌊 Negatives: ❌ Busy: it felt a bit rushed, as if early guests had to quickly make way for new ones. ❌ Sound: noisy, not ideal for a relaxing dinner. Overall a great experience, but if you're looking for a quiet night out then a weekday might be a better choice. 🍷

Always a good time here, especially when the weather is good on the terrace. Enjoy the cocktails and of course eat a nice steak. Wonderfully helped by a waiter who simply makes it a pleasure to be there. Will ask his name next time ;)

Flew back to Amsterdam for a second time and you bet I could not wait to sink my teeth into this steak! And it was just as good as I remember it being. The gravy was drink worthy and was the icing on the steak.

Perfect location. Come to drink a cappuchino or eat a delicious meal - come by foot or with your boat.

Dining a the waterfront : food and drinks were good. Service however could be a little bit more attentive, there was hardly any eye contact, hence a minor deduction. *i will revise if this improves over time - overall, Loetje is still a good place to enjoy a good meal.

This location is really great! Beautiful view over the IJ and the harbor. Furthermore, the service here is exceptionally good! I don't know if I'm writing it right, but Nadilla is great! Cheerful go-getter who completely participated in our Loetje test! This one really ranks number 1 because of the service!

Food and service were excellent, little bit loudly when it is crowded.

Last visit to Loetje was very disappointing. We were kindly received by two staff members at the beginning, but then things went wrong. One employee behaved in a strange, downright disrespectful manner. My girlfriend was the only one in the store with a headscarf and immediately got strange looks — including from him. It immediately felt awkward, like we weren't welcome. Later, the same employee completely embarrassed us for no reason at all. His attitude was unprofessional, rude and not at all what you expect from a restaurant like Loetje. This kind of behavior is really not okay, especially in an environment where everyone should feel equal.

Very nice location on the water, friendly staff and delicious food. Parking was a bit difficult. It is not possible to park in front of the door, so you always have to walk a bit.

Went with a group and they seemed to have some issues getting the food right . Entre came out and then our sides and waited sometime for the mains . Dessert was OK, ice cream with a small amount of chocolate topping and whipped cream if you would call it that . It was like thick water .

Very nice and fine Loetje location, located in the Marina marina and on the IJ in Amsterdam Noord (really a top location 👌🤩). With summer weather you can sit on the terrace in front of the business. When we were there it was not warm enough yet. But from the restaurant you also have a beautiful view over the IJ. The quality of the dishes is what you are used to at Loetje!

Had a delicious lunch at Loetje yesterday afternoon. We had emergency response training at a nearby company and were allowed to go to this restaurant for lunch. A delicious burger with crispy fries 🍔🍟. Nice location also on the water.

Beautiful location and comfortably furnished place. Food was fine. Too few staff (I can live with that given the labor market) and some of them are also not very attentive. That was downright annoying.

What a nice Loetje restaurant, beautifully situated on the marina and the IJ. The quality of the dishes is excellent, you come here because you know what to expect. The Bali steak, for example, is available in various sizes and perfectly prepared to your liking. The side dishes such as fries and lettuce, but also the chicken livers make it complete. The service is wonderfully attentive and friendly, some of them have been working here for many many years. Eating here is suitable for couples, families and groups. In the summer you can moor your boat and have your order served in the boat!

For the best steak (and chicken livers) go to Loetje. Delicious! Fast service, delicious food and fantastic on the water in the sun! Tip, don't wear (needle) heels. Otherwise, you will remain stuck between the beautiful wooden scaffolding planks outside.

March 2025: price quality moderate. Meat ball dry, in a puddle of black (burnt?) gravy. Foccasia goat's cheese turns out to be a toast with little taste. Apple pie delicious. No longer the Loutje of the past, it has become a chain that lives on the quality and atmosphere of the past. Very unfortunate! 2024: Very nice place to sit, especially in nice weather, large terrace with a view of the IJ and harbor. Menu with many tasty snacks and dishes such as delicious steak😋

Had erg zin in een biefstuk en daar staan ze natuurlijk om bekend. Maar had zoveel zout, was niet te eten. Verder werd je wel vriendelijk geholpen en was de rest wel lekker.

Nice place with great views and steaks

Unfortunately, Loetje is no longer what it used to be. From the best steak in Amsterdam to a tasteless brick. Overcooked, seared too hard and the Bali gravy has turned into a watery, tasteless mess. This is what happens when good restaurants become chains and everything is about efficiency and cost savings.

Great experience, staff were really helpful and kind! This time we went for the garlic steak, it was good, but never again, the aftermath (breath) wasn’t pleasant 😅

Well...I'm tired of writing reviews again. Why do you do it then... well... it's worth it again now 🤗. Today my daughter wanted to take a look at Bikeroutlet in Amsterdam. Had seen a "show jacket" for the motorcycle. She only rides a motorcycle when it is 28+ degrees...so it doesn't have to be really hot 🤣. I thought that, after solving her motorcycle jacket dilemma, we could have a nice lunch along the IJ in Amsterdam. There are several eateries just a stone's throw away. So I googled, which seems to be a Dutch word these days, and ended up with Loetje. Not on the IJ but actually in it. 😁. Nice trendy (not too) restaurant, friendly service, good parking and great views 🚢. I'm a water person, so I was happy. My daughter also with her show jacket....🤭. For lunch, because that is what this story is actually about, we opted for pumpkin soup (soup of the day). Nice and warm again, well filled and also tasty with thick toasted slices of bread with "fruits in it", my daughter told me. But now I've lost it again. I'm becoming an even older man, I think. But... soup and bread combination was good! and tasty.... also opted for 2 croquettes on country bread. I hesitated for a long time whether I should have a nice, tender steak, but I opted for the croquettes. Afterwards I felt a bit sorry, even though the croquettes were fine. Most of the guests around me were enjoying their steak, it looked very tasty and tempting... hmmm missed opportunity according to my "wise daughter" 🫣, yes, I knew that afterwards too... anyway, we had a nice relaxed and enjoyable lunch. We will also come back here because we want to sit outside again with a view of the Pontsteiger...

tasty steak! cozy atmosphere, but parking is difficult in the area

(redelijk) druk, We werden zonder menukaart door de host naar onze tafel gebracht. Het was vanaf het begin totaal niet duidelijk wie van de bediening in charge was van onze tafel. Ik was met mijn man en 2 zonen. De bediening was overal ahw verspreid maar kwam nauwelijks in de buurt bij sectie vlakbij de ingang waar wij zaten. Ik heb letterlijk (hard) moeten roepen om de menukaarten te kunnen krijgen en uberhaupt drinken te kunnen bestellen. We zagen al om ons heen dat mensen van tafel gingen om af te rekenen terwijl de vuile borden nog op tafel stonden, erg slordig. Ook weer moeten roepen om een bestelling te kunnen plaatsten. Het werd al snel duidelijk dat er personeelstekort was. Was geen manager aanwezig. Desalniettemin bediening eenmaal aan tafel wel vriendelijk. Het leek erop dat de mannelijk host ook tegelijkertijd (onze) tafels aan het bedienen was, duidelijk ten koste vd service. Zoete aardappelen kwam verbrand aan. Werd nog excuses voor gegeven, tweede poging, weer erg donker... durfden niet te weigeren vanwege de drukte. Er werd nauwelijks naar de gasten omgekeken. We zaten al een tijd met vuile borden voor ons neus. Rekening maar gevraagd. We hebben echt een tijdje gewacht, een kans gegeven. Maar ipv dat de host ons simpelweg gelijk de rekening kon brengen. Besloot hij om toch nieuwe bestellingen aan 2 tafels op te nemen. Van nieuwe gasten die niet eens zo lang aan tafel zaten te wachten. Onbegrijpelijk. Alle begrip voor personeelstekort, maar we zaten al een tijd op de rekening te wachten en de host zag heel duidelijk dat we allang klaar waren. We zaten letterlijk achter hem! Handel dat eerst af en focus je dan op de nwe gasten die prima 3 min kunnen wachten om te kunnen bestellen. Ik kom zelf uit de horeca. Stel je prioriteiten!! Dit heeft echt onze avond verpest en dan betaal je 130 euro(!). Dit gaf echt een bittere nasmaak aan ons uitje. Echt jammer!

Excellent food, nice service. The steaks are tasty, but the other things on the menu are sometimes a bit disappointing. For example, the slip sole was lukewarm. The desserts were also excellent. All in all we had a great evening, but nothing more than that.

Really great! Delicious food after a day of shopping. I always go to Loetje Overveen, so for a change a friend suggested Loetje Amsterdam aan 't IJ. The staff was friendly and quick to serve. The steak and sweet potato fries tasted good. Highly recommended!

Dry fries, average burger... average food but nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Location and seating is good, but my dish "Ossenhaas Bali" was extremely salty, resulting in some stomach issues a few hours later. The waitress laughed it off when I mentioned the complaint. Makes me wonder if it's a common issue. The bread is also surprisingly cheap square toast bread comparable to what you get at a local grocery store. When charging 25 EUR+ a dish, I'd expect more.

The food was tasty but the service was very poor. Waited a long time for food or service. We sat upstairs and even walked downstairs 3 times to ask if someone could serve us. I'll go to another Loetje next time!

Ordered steak twice and it was quite lukewarm when it was served, then they were sent back to be heated up and I was served it lukewarm again. Fries were also lukewarm even though I'm not used to that. I think it took too long because of the serving of the loetje boat that moored. There were more people who had to wait a very long time for their food. You pay for the food and expect it to be good. Very disappointing

Like always it’s a great experience coming to Loetje. I really liked the steak. They had a busy day so their salad was out. But the haricot verts were awesome as well!

The food quality was good but The portions were very small. Guys did not feel full at the end.

This year we organized an outing with the company at Loetje aan 't IJ. We were there last Friday with a group of 28 people. We had a very attractive room, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and as we have come to expect from Loetje: the food was delicious!

A beautiful location in a very nice place. Please be careful that you cannot park there! There was quite a queue for a parking lot that does not belong to the restaurant. Just go to the local parking lot. Service good and nice pace. Well, the food is of course very personal and something can go wrong. For us, a bit too bare for way too much money. 3 classic steaks, 2x fries, 3 soft drinks and then EUR 100 is very expensive.

The food was almost perfect, the atmosphere amazing. But what truly makes this place stand out is the service. We visited last Thursday, and Robin was our server – this guy is an absolute gem. I can't recall ever having better service – friendly but not overbearing. When he found out we were celebrating a birthday, he sang for my daughter. A heartfelt thank you for everything!

Het eten was, zoals altijd, heerlijk – de biefstuk was mals en vol van smaak, en de bijgerechten waren perfect. Mijn kinderen zijn inmiddels echte Loetje-fans en keken er enorm naar uit. Wat de avond echt speciaal maakte, was de geweldige service. Iris, wat een topper! Dynamisch, vrolijk en superhardwerkend. Ze straalt energie uit en zorgt ervoor dat iedereen zich welkom voelt. Ze kwam langs bij elke tafel om te checken of alles naar wens was, en dat doet ze met zoveel oprechte aandacht. Echt geweldig! Dankzij het heerlijke eten en de fantastische bediening, vooral van Iris, was het een avond om niet te vergeten. We komen zeker snel weer terug! Ga zo door 👍 Trees

It's a shame that there is no elevator for staff to bring the food upstairs. Moreover, narrow stairs. And therefore a lot of walking, especially for the staff.

Mooi plekje, erg druk. Bediening was zwaar onderbezet en daardoor heb ik de bediening een paar keer moeten ophalen na lang wachten. Niets ten nadele van het uiterst vriendelijke personeel zelf - maar dit kon echt niet. Een vol restaurant draaien met twee man werkt niet...

Very rude blond manager with poney tail. We we were told in a way: I will wait here in front of the table until you all get out of my restaurant. Just so they could hang out among staff at closing and have what looked like drinks after work. Will never bring back clients there for a business dinner. Sadly the food was good.

Had to ask for a card ourselves, then it took forever before someone came to take the order, even though there were only three tables occupied. Cappuccino was lukewarm, soup was lukewarm, the view is beautiful but that is not enough reason to go back.

Beautiful location on the water. It was already dusk when we arrived. The lights on the water provide a nice varied view. Ordered delicious steaks. The original and garlic variant are favorites. The recommended wine paired well. Friendly service.

Had dinner here with my partner. The famous steaks are really delicious. I ordered the Bali steak myself and in my opinion it was the tastiest steak I have ever eaten. Staff also super polite, friendly and patient. I'll come back here!

Second time I came here, I did return because the food was okay, but because the service was incredible, a woman called Jose was AMAZING!! Truly !! And today was the total opposite, the staff is busy with themselves, looking at their iPhones and talking to eachother, while tables need to be cleaned and people wants to be served!! What a different atitute!! Day and night! I asked for my bill, the woman left and stayed at the bar listening to another colleague “s phone and with her back to the restaurant, I needed to walk up to her to be helped, the owner should know that he is loosing money because of poor service!! Today Thursday 31st of October at 3 pm !!

I visited with my colleagues, about 30 of them. 2 big tables, and still the service was pretty quick. We all got our food within maybe 5 minutes of each other. The steak was cooked medium rare and swimming in gravy (jus), delicious. The fries were great but the white bread was dry and not tasty but a good tool to get the gravy soaked up. The shrimp croquettes with toast were very tasty. It was a bit loud, the big windows surrounding the restaurant don't help. Great view of the main waterway to Amsterdam with plenty to see.

We visited here with friends after their recommendation. This is by far one of the best steak restaurants we have ever visited! The beautiful outlook onto the dark marina lit only by string bulb lights added to the idyllic atmosphere. We ordered drinks at the bar whilst awaiting our table. We were soon seated under the large stingray image on the ceiling. We were guided to scan the QR code of an English menu, which made life so much easier for our 2 boys. It allowed them to choose their own meal independently. Our friends helped explain any traditional Dutch menu items. We ordered Bitterballen and Bali steak (159g) amongst other items. The food was delicious, we were surprised to see the steam arrive with bread. This soaked up the gravy beautifully, it was a real comfort food meal! We cannot wait to return to the Netherlands and try another one of the restaurants!

In general good food, Especially the steak was good. But this time, it felt that the French Fries were already standing 10 min before being served....

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. The food was poorly prepared, and the service lacked warmth and professionalism. The staff could benefit from better training in customer service. Our dessert took an unusually long time to arrive, and when we asked the waiter about it, he responded dismissively in Dutch, gesturing with his arms and saying, "I know you ordered, it's on the line and will come when it's ready." When the dessert finally arrived, the spoon was submerged in the sauce, and the flavor left much to be desired. The pineapple tasted like it came from a can, and the overall quality was far from what we expected. Overall, it wasn't worth the time or money.

Simply, good and delicious! Friendly staff. Parking available nearby. If you park your car 5 minutes further, you can park for free.
