Cozy atmosphere and the staff was super friendly.

Wouldn’t recommend, bland food, super overpriced, no sides / nothing comes with the mains they all cost extra..there are so many other better options in Amsterdam.

We eat at Loetje often; the food is always tasty, but unfortunately, yesterday things went wrong with the preparation of both a steak and a calf's liver. Both were overcooked. The service is friendly but could be a bit more attentive, particularly regarding offering a solution. They eventually did so after the complaint. One downside: it was hot inside, with no air conditioning.

There was a shortage of staff. As soon as we sat down at the table, we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink, even though we hadn't seen the menu yet. Then it took 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. The order didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, and it was incomplete. After asking where the rest was, we were told 2 minutes. After 20 minutes, I asked again where it was, and it was brought to the table immediately. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking today.

There were more guests than I expected for a book club. The hostess quickly helped me with creative solutions, was attentive to everyone, and really tried to accommodate all kinds of requests. Overall, it felt very personal and the service was really nice

A go to restaurant when staying in Zuidas. The food is always great and they are happy to serve bigger groups and solo diners as well. The classic steak with the Loetje sauce is the best!

The price went up, but the portion of meat was smaller, the fish was thinner, the taste was just average ang the service was just average. I wouldn't come back.

There were three waitstaff. One of them, a middle-aged blonde lady, serves the drinks without looking at you or using any other form of communication. I can tell you that something so seemingly simple creates a peculiar sensation! The other two (male) staff members were just friendly, as was another blonde lady whose shift started a bit later.

Very pleasant for a business diner/lunch

The food was cold (it wasn't the first time). We had ordered grilled vegetables and received different vegetables than what was on the menu (with mushrooms, which we don't like). The response was that all the vegetables are in one big bowl and that they cannot separate them. It was extremely noisy in the restaurant. In short, we won't be eating at Loetje again.

Part of the order did not arrive at the same time, causing us to wait in between. We had explicitly requested this. A portion was not served at all but was charged for. The ambiance was good and the food was of good quality. However, it could be better, certainly for this price.

Unfortunately, I can't give more than two stars today. My steak was supposed to be medium, but it was overcooked. Well, what can you do? Sending it back and throwing it away is a waste, so I did eat it. I assume this can happen. Loetje is always top-notch and the food is delicious. Mistakes can always happen, so next time I'll just come back and enjoy myself at your place again. :-)

We come once every few months, and it has become one of those places where we know what to expect and can trust the food. The steaks are the main reason we keep going back, they are always really good and the sauces/sides work well with them. Service has also been friendly whenever we have been there. It is not a cheap dinner, but I also would not say it feels overpriced for Amsterdam, especially if you are going for steak. Last time we paid around €57 per person, including drinks, sides and dessert. Good place for a relaxed meal when you want something reliable.

The 0.0 steak was very tasty, although my dining partner and I thought the outside tasted strongly of fish. The only criticism I have is the butter sauce; there was a bit too much butter, so it solidified during the meal and wasn't tasty anymore. The vegetables were okay, some bell peppers and mushrooms. The service and staff were very friendly and attentive. I asked for a quiet spot and was really well assisted. The waitress was a very sweet lady from South Africa.

Apparently it is a very popular restaurant in Amsterdam as lots of people recommend it, but our experiences were different. Service wasn't the best and food was only ok. I have steak tenderloins , the steak itself was great but the sauce and the white bread doesn't really match..it was very oily.

A better than nice venue with a great feel and fit out. The meal was enjoyable and staff were fine/good. The look and feel of the venue is great and we enjoyed the gentle chatter of other diners around us, giving the night a good vibe. (Staff started packing away tables and chairs before we finished dinner which was very loud and annoying)

4 stars and not 5 as the place is too loud for me, having hearing aids.

As always, the garlic sauce beef never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is super friendly. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a big plus, and they have a fantastic terrace perfect for enjoying a warm spring or summer afternoon. Highly recommended—definitely worth a visit!

Excellent service, delicious steak, and tasty fresh bread on the side.

The food was delicious, no doubt about that. Tender meat, very soft and the fries where crunchy as they should. The service was another story; we had to wait long after our main course. The table next to us arrived later but they already had dessert and left while we where still waiting for our table to be cleaned and asked of we wanted dessert or something else to drink.

We went to Loetje with guests from abroad because it is always good. We had a nice meal, but my beef tenderloin Bali was tougher/less tender than I am used to. Also, I was not comfortable at all. We were seated at a round table with a corner bench, which was otherwise a fine spot, but the bench was very saggy, causing me to sit low. I sat on the edge to sit a bit higher. Please take a look at this! Otherwise, we had a pleasant evening.

The place is quite nice overall, with a good atmosphere and decent service. The only downside is that the terrace closes very early, which is a pity, especially on nice evenings when you’d love to stay outside a bit longer.

The grilled vegetables were not grilled but fried or stir-fried. Disappointing, I was used to better at Loetje. The steak was delicious.

We had to wait quite a long time upon arrival before we were noticed.. The food was already almost cold when it was served, dessert took a very long time, and paying quickly was also a challenge. I often visit other Loetje’s, but this time at this location it was a bit disappointing.

It was delicious and fast. I asked if we could eat within an hour. We managed it. Beautiful location.

The food was bad; we reported that when someone finally came to serve. After September 2025, it will decline rapidly. We have been coming to eat at least once a week for years.

The food wasn't very special. We ordered steak (tenderloin). There was no further information about the origin of the meat. It was well cooked, served with gravy and white bread. The gravy was a bit on the salty side. We also ordered fries as a side dish. Unfortunately, the fries came with a large dollop of mayonnaise on half the plate. It would be better to put this in a separate bowl. It was quite tasty for a change, but all in all, not very healthy!

The wait staff didn't come by once to ask if we wanted anything else to drink or if we had enjoyed our meal. After waiting, watching, and waving for fifteen minutes, we walked over to the staff ourselves to place an order that ultimately never arrived. My daughter wanted bread to dip in the gravy, but it never came, and by then the gravy had curdled. I felt ashamed of the poor service for the family I had brought along for my birthday. I definitely won't be celebrating my birthday here next time.

Last night we dined at Loetje. Unfortunately, our experience this time was less positive than usual. We had a reservation for 8:00 PM and ordered both appetizers and main courses. Although the wait times were a bit longer than usual, that wasn't a problem for us. Around 10:20 PM (just after our main course had been brought out), we wanted to order dessert. To our surprise, we were told that the kitchen was already closed. No one had informed us of this, neither beforehand nor during dinner. We also hadn't been asked if we wanted to order dessert. When we expressed our surprise, we were met with a rude response from the staff. When we paid, we wanted to politely mention this, hoping that this could be handled differently in the future. Once again, we received an unfriendly and disrespectful response, including comments like "That's what it says on the website" and "There's nothing I can do about that." The staff member then walked away without saying a word. We found this very unprofessional. Because of this experience we feel we were not treated well and we have decided not to come back unfortunately.

Yes, mixed feelings. I'd already had experience with Loetje te Laten, which I didn't like. The atmosphere in Amsterdam is good and looks cozy. The staff is excellent and friendly. The food is pitifully small for the price. I ordered steak, and only got steak on my plate. No vegetables or anything else. I ordered fries, which were extremely poor quality. Honestly, the price/quality ratio is disgraceful!!! Parking in the area is hopeless, and I ended up using the parking garage on Zuid-As for 2.5 hours for €33 🙈🤣. No more Loetje for me and my colleagues. There are far better places.

Nice place with amazing meat menu.

Extremely poor handling of a complaint. Poor service by disinterested staff, where plates of mayonnaise were piled on top of each other. Result: a grease stain on a new pair of pants. On November 1st, we went to lunch at Loetje in Amsterdam. From the moment we arrived, from taking our order, and from the time we were served, there was no attention paid to us as customers. Plates of fries and mayonnaise were stacked on top of each other, resulting in mayonnaise spilling on my wife's new pants. The chef came over and I filled out the complaint form. When I submitted the complaint, it turned out that the new pants would not be reimbursed, even though new pants are no longer new after being dry-cleaned. During correspondence, they claimed that reimbursement was not possible after consulting with the insurance company, but that was a bit too hasty for me. I was offered a €25 voucher, but I declined. If they had resolved this complaint smoothly, they would have made it a good experience. We won't be seeing Loetje again.

I've never had such a bad schnitzel in my entire life. This kind of food is safe for wolves, but not for humans. Hours afterward, I still had a stomach ache, and even laughing hurt. Check with your supplier or the chef.

This restaurant was a real discovery! The menu offered a beautiful balance between classic dishes and modern creations. I chose a lamb dish that was perfectly prepared, tender and full of flavor. The sauce was both rich and subtle. The service was friendly and professional. The decor was stylish, with warm tones and soft lighting. The music was at just the right volume. The desserts were delicious—I had the crème brûlée, which was perfectly crispy on top. Everything felt thoughtful and well-prepared. A place where quality clearly comes first.

Been here a couple of times — never disappoints. Quick service, tasty food, and tenderloin so good it probably deserves its own LinkedIn profile. 🥩💼 Reservation is essential because this place gets busy — like “half of Zuidas just closed their laptops and came here” busy. We came as a group of 10 and were definitely hogging the table long after the plates were clean. The waitress, very politely and professionally, reminded us that there was a line forming. I didn’t feel kicked out — more like gently guided by someone who truly believes everyone deserves a good tenderloin in life. Great food, great service, and a perfect place to end a productive day pretending to work.

1.11.2025 I had dinner here with family today. I was shocked by the rude behavior of the young blonde hair staff member. The restaurant may have been busy and it was difficult because of saturday night, but that attitude is unacceptable. She was not professional at all. But two other young male staff members and one young girl with curly brown hair worked very professionally. I can't believe that she was the only one who was rude to customers when they were working in the same situation as her. If can't do it professionally, shouldn't work in customer service. I love Loetje and we often eat at Loetje but her manager should know about her rude behavior today. It was the first time I'd seen a restaurant staff behave like that. I was very disappointed today. I hope the manager reads this review.

I felt very uncomfortable and humiliated 😅. First, when I walked in, I had to stand for a seat, no problem. Then a woman came up to me and didn't make eye contact, just walked the other way and passed all the tables. I just had to "smell" her to follow 😅. I then followed her. Then it took 15 minutes for her to ask me what I wanted to drink. When I got my drink, it took another 20 minutes for them to ask me what I wanted to eat. After the food arrived 15 minutes later, I had a nice, quiet meal and was watching a movie. Then someone came up to me with a card reader and basically told me to "get lost." I thought that was really strange because I hadn't even finished eating yet. I wanted dessert. I then told her I hadn't finished eating and wanted to order dessert. He didn't even apologize, just grabbed the dessert menu and walked away. I literally waited another 20 minutes for him to ask what kind of dessert I wanted; he'd simply forgotten about me. I literally had to call him over!! Then, after that dessert, I had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to come over. In this case, I had to call the woman who had been rude earlier. I asked her if I could pay... then she asked me if everything was alright? I resoundingly said NO! She didn't look at me and walked away to get the card reader and some candy. She completely ignored what I said... and it seemed like she was watching the card reader's screen to see if I could pay. When I got to the door, I saw some guys coming in and being told, "Find your own spot." And in my case, the woman had to follow me around and decide where I should sit. 😅 What a disgrace for Loetje Amsterdam Zuid. **Side note: I'm not a white woman from the South** It probably had something to do with this. Shame on you! 😉

Excellent steak restaurant in the Zuidas district. A warm welcome from friendly staff. The restaurant has an attractive interior. The menu is simple, with steak, meat, fish, and vegetarian starters and main courses. Fries, salads, and/or vegetables can be ordered separately with the main courses. There were six of us, and we all had a main course: two large fries, two large salads, and one fried vegetable. That was more than enough (which would have been too much with the main courses). Free parking is available on the nearby residential street after 7:00 PM (€4.04 per hour).

The food was good, but drinks and bread took a long time to come, which made it difficult to enjoy the delicious juice.

The Bali Salad was a bit cold (the steak) and it lacked quite a bit of jus. Otherwise, I'm a real Loetje fan and I love coming here.

This is a place to have typical Dutch lunch in Amsterdam Zuid. Nothing special, but food is good. Service is a bit slow, but we were there at the lunch time and it was pretty busy, so no surprise.

Loetje is in the elevator. The Loetje atmosphere is nowhere to be found here (unlike other Loetjes). The steak is always delicious, especially the Balinese. The prices are a bit high.

I had a vegan burger at Loetje Zuidas today. It was so good! Crispy, flavorful (beetroot burger with avocado and fried onion rings), and delicious sauces. The fries were also good, as was the Brand 0.0 wheat beer. My son chose a delicious steak and will order the 195g version next time.

It is nice to see Loetje keeps growing while keeping up to its standards. Employees are friendly, food is amazing and wine card is really well selected. ZuidAs has a really good atmosphere for team dinners.

This is a family-like restaurant. The hamburger was very good. The filet was tender and (as was explained to me) was typical Dutch food. It was served with two slices of white bread that you dip in the au jus. I recommend the garlic sauce! Reservations are recommended.

This Loetje branch is always a disappointment! A steak restaurant, mind you, that can't cook a steak to the desired doneness! My steak always has to be redone! The staff member, Yara, is exceptionally friendly and resolves the issue in the end!
