Best decision we made all week, food was delicious, service was prompt , kids and adults gave 2 thumbs up . Prices were comparable to the quality of the food , would definitely eat there again .

A lovely, spacious, and quiet place. Excellent service and excellent food. Their classic Biefstuck, served in a sauce we'll never forget, is excellent and a must-try. Highly recommended!!!

The food is always fine, and there is never a long wait. Unfortunately, a (new) waitress was wearing way too much perfume… Whole wafts followed her, and every time she walked past, the smell lingered. Very distracting. I don't think that is acceptable. A shame.

Had a delicious lunch deal here and enjoyed it. Steak with fries, bread, and a salad. Everything was super tasty and fresh. Service friendly and efficient. Ambiance is a lovely place to eat; spacious, cozy, and atmospheric! As far as I'm concerned, one of the nicest Loetje locations in Amsterdam.

We gave a tip at Loetje Zuidas today. We had a pretty nice time, but when our order was brought, a portion of Friekandels (small fried meatballs) was included that we hadn't ordered. No problem otherwise. However, upon checking the receipt at home, we realized they did charge us for it; not very fair. It's a shame, though; we really should have left the tip out.

We had a delicious meal, as is practically always the case. It was full this Saturday. Food took a bit longer. The main course arrived while the starter plates were still standing there, but oh well, that's just timing. Dessert actually took too long, but we had a lovely evening and a delicious meal.

Overpriced and disappointing food quality – strictly a 3-star experience Loetje is a well-known spot, but my visit was a solid 3 stars at best. The price-to-quality ratio felt completely exorbitant for what was served. The biggest disappointment was the steak sauce: it was extremely fatty, tasted less like a rich gravy and more like burnt oil that had been reused far too many times…a real shock for the arteries! To make matters worse, the bread served with it was basic sandwich toast, which felt incredibly cheap and low-quality for a restaurant at this price point. The lemonade was also extremely sweet to the point of being unpalatable. On a positive note, the vegetables were actually very good, and the service was attentive and pleasant. However, given the poor quality of the main components and the steep cost, it's not a place I'd be back.

we came with a group of 10, waitress was very nice but took wrong order from our carpaccio, so another waiter he will order the correct one, they charged us for all 3!!! also the partions were not even, we ordered 2 of the beef steak with onions/bacon and liver, but one plate clearly got soo little of it while the other was piled high? I honestly like the consistency of the ouderkerk location more. so we were not really impressed yesterday.

Relaxed spot with a nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly and you can sit both inside and outside. We had the Bali steak, chicken livers, bread, fries, and salad. Everything was well prepared and tasty. Personally, I found the gravy a bit on the salty side this time, but that is of course a matter of taste. All in all, just a fine restaurant where you can eat well. Definitely recommended if you are in the mood for a good steak.

We just had dinner at Loetje Zuidas with 6 people. We hadn't made a reservation, and that wasn't appreciated. We were given a table until 7:30, right in a draft. Once we were seated, it took a long time before we could order drinks, even though we were on a closing time. When we finally received the food, one steak was overcooked instead of medium rare, and the other was still cold inside. Once we had finished eating, it took an enormous amount of time again before the table was cleared, and we had been sitting with empty glasses for quite some time. The service was extremely poor; the “manager” also walked through the entire restaurant whistling, singing, behaving unprofessionally by giving the middle finger to her colleague in the middle of the restaurant, and pouring stale draft beers into other glasses before serving. When the “manager” had finished her shift, she walked through the place with a cigarette and her scooter helmet; this is antisocial behavior. When paying the bill, we pointed out to the staff that the service was very poor, and the response we received was: "Sorry, but we are two staff short." If this were the case, they could have pointed it out to us upon arrival or refused service. Additionally, the "manager" could have lent a hand with serving or worked longer on her shift. In any case, we will never be coming here again.

Today, six of us went out for dinner at Loetje Zuidas. We hadn't made a reservation, but fortunately, there was still a table available. We were very pleased about that. However, we were told that the table was only available until half past seven, which wasn't a problem for us. From the start, however, we felt that our walk-in status wasn't really appreciated. We were given a table in a drafty spot, whereas other guests without a reservation were given a choice of where they wanted to sit. We were not given that choice. Additionally, it took a very long time before we could order anything. This applied to both the first drinks and the food. Ordering a subsequent round of drinks and dessert was also very difficult, as hardly anyone came by. Furthermore, the behavior of the blonde-haired manager stood out very negatively. She walked through the restaurant whistling and singing loudly, flipped off a colleague in the middle of the restaurant, and went to check out at the end of her shift wearing a scooter helmet and with a cigarette in her mouth. We found that very unprofessional. The quality of the food was also disappointing. One steak was cold and another was well-done, even though we had all ordered medium-rare. Additionally, we were given a damaged glass, which is obviously unacceptable. Beer was also poured from one glass into another before being served to guests. As a result, we were served flat beer at the table, which is not the quality you should expect from a restaurant like Loetje. When paying the bill, we made it clear that we were not satisfied. We were then told that there was insufficient staff present. We can understand that, provided it is indicated beforehand. But if staffing is insufficient, do not accept extra tables. Or be honest about it in advance, so that guests can decide for themselves whether they want to stay. It was a birthday dinner for us, and if we had known this beforehand, we probably would have chosen a different restaurant. All in all, this was unfortunately a disappointing experience. It is a shame, because we had been looking forward to a pleasant evening.

The food was perfect, but the service was very poor. No staff came by to ask if you needed anything; they were more busy with each other and on their phones. Everyone was sitting with empty glasses.

First and last time I've been here. It started right upon arrival. We were allowed to choose our own table. After 15 minutes, we were told we weren't allowed to sit there. So we had to move again. By 5:30 PM, there were no more schnitzels available. We had to wait 25 minutes for our food, and then there was a hair in the chicken satay. It was replaced properly, though, and we received a free drink that wasn't processed correctly on the bill later. When we pointed this out, the response was unfriendly, and the waitress's expression said it all. The food was okay, but the rest wasn't.

Helped by a fantastic young lady

Had a bad experience. Upon entering, we were told we could sit anywhere. We took our seats, and only after 10 minutes were we told that this section was closed. Eventually, after 15 minutes, we were finally able to order something to drink. Just when we thought we were going to order our food, something was sold out again. How can your schnitzels be sold out at 5:30 PM ALREADY??????? Also, certain drinks were out of stock, and this was only indicated too late. The drinks menu also doesn't match what is served; the menu says Sourcy water, but in the end, you get Spa Blue. The knives on the table were also very dirty. Finally, after 35 minutes, we received the food: a tasty steak and satay. And guess what? A HAIR IN THE CHICKEN SATAY!!! Of course, we sent it back, and within 8 minutes, I received a new one. We did, however, politely receive a round of drinks on the house. Ultimately, with the bill, the drinks were unfortunately not charged correctly. I pointed this out politely but received a strange response. Not a repeat visit for me.

Horrible, disgusting food. Burnt schnitzel with 2 tons of oil on/in it. Service didn't bother enquiring if all is OK. Avoid this place. They just want your money but food and service are awful.

Excellent ambiance and a great location. Truly excellent service and friendly staff. We didn't have a reservation for a table during the week, but we still found a spot. The kitchen only serves food until a certain time, which is common practice in most restaurants. The food is superb. Highly recommended. All the dishes tasted wonderful. Delicious sauces and recipes! The Bali salad with steak was fantastic, with a spicy sauce and a generous portion!

Meat is a must in this restaurant but vegetarian options are also great and abundant. Service also great. Highly recommended.

Way too expensive for what you get; the steak was burnt on the sides, it just had a crust. You pay 120 euros for a simple piece of meat with some side dishes. Not even a starter or dessert included, and that steak is a 4/10.

The worst burger of my life!!!! We arrived late in the evening for dinner. We asked for it rare, but it was impossible... we wondered why... And then disaster struck: the meat wasn't really meat, there was an old slice of cheese, tasteless vegetables, and the burger bun was like cardboard! The fries were swimming in mayonnaise..... We were seated near the kitchen entrance, and the noise level was catastrophic because the dishwasher had his music blasting and was talking loudly. I couldn't even hear the restaurant's background music. A €67 bill including two beers.... That's absolutely unacceptable! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

A good experience overall, which is why I would give Loetje Zuidas 4 stars. The famous steaks are still tasty and the atmosphere is pleasant, but it feels like the concept has become a little too confident in itself. The prices are relatively high compared to what you get, and the parking costs at this location are quite expensive as well. That said, the service was friendly and the quality is still good. A nice place to visit, but the overall value for money could be better.

Delicious food, though pricey; for two people, a main course, no dessert, and a simple drink and coffee, we still spent well over 88 euros. Fast service. It is quite noisy, so you have to try incredibly hard to understand each other; perhaps something should be done about the acoustics.

We had a delicious meal, and in the end, we really do come for a steak, but what I would consider a point for improvement is that not all the staff seemed to be equally enthusiastic. Most of them were very friendly, so all in all, we had a lovely evening!

Went out for dinner with a large group of 21 people. Despite the size of our party, we had a delicious meal, enjoyed ourselves, and continued on our way feeling very satisfied.

We went to sit outside, it was very warm and sunny. Too bad the parasols were there, but no one wanted to put them up.

Normally, we go to Loetje Ouderkerk with Grandma. Always perfect. This time, we thought we'd go to Zuid. But what a disappointment this was! One Loetje is absolutely not the same as another. We had ordered liver. First, the liver was served red on the inside. Chunks of onions were served with it instead of being finely/normally chopped. Grandma always orders half a liver. Whereas at Ouderkerk we get a nice piece/portion, here at Zuid you get a pathetic little piece *like a chicken tenderloin size. Sorry, this really wasn't worth it. No discount, absolutely nothing! Service was rubbish... and yes, sorry, that's all you get. Even though you pay quite a bit of money when you go out to eat. I think the cook in Ouderkerk needs to learn a thing or two.

Deliciously tender piece of meat with tasty gravy on the side. We ordered the sweet potato fries with aioli mayo on the side 👌😋 We didn't think the casino bread matched the taste, but you get that for free anyway. Crispy baguette would go much better with it in terms of taste! Make it a paid side dish if necessary, so people have a choice 😁 We also ordered the fried onions as a side dish; it certainly wasn't bad. It was our first time eating at Loetje and we were certainly not disappointed. Next time we're going back to try the risotto! Super friendly staff!

Despite the crowds at the Amsterdam summer concert, we got a table quickly. The service was friendly; you could tell from their expression that the crowds might not have been expected, and the food arrived faster than we had anticipated due to the rush. The quality of the food was also good. The atmosphere is fine.

The steak at the counter was a mouthful of salt; achieving the right doneness is also a difficult task.

Super delicious food in a nice location. The staff are very friendly, but they could come and check on you a bit more often to see if everything is to your liking. We had to wait a very long time for our food. At least 40 minutes for two hamburgers and a schnitzel.

The food was delivered to another table. It took a while for this omission to be noticed after I pointed it out. It was taken away and placed in front of us. Very unhygienic and lukewarm fries. The bread was replaced, however, because a toddler had touched it.

There was a shortage of staff. As soon as we sat down at the table, we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink, even though we hadn't seen the menu yet. Then it took 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. The order didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, and it was incomplete. After asking where the rest was, we were told 2 minutes. After 20 minutes, I asked again where it was, and it was brought to the table immediately. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking today.

There were more guests than I expected for a book club. The hostess quickly helped me with creative solutions, was attentive to everyone, and really tried to accommodate all kinds of requests. Overall, it felt very personal and the service was really nice

We eat at Loetje often; the food is always tasty, but unfortunately, yesterday things went wrong with the preparation of both a steak and a calf's liver. Both were overcooked. The service is friendly but could be a bit more attentive, particularly regarding offering a solution. They eventually did so after the complaint. One downside: it was hot inside, with no air conditioning.

A go to restaurant when staying in Zuidas. The food is always great and they are happy to serve bigger groups and solo diners as well. The classic steak with the Loetje sauce is the best!

The price went up, but the portion of meat was smaller, the fish was thinner, the taste was just average ang the service was just average. I wouldn't come back.

Good place to eat n chill in Zuidas

My friend and I arrived around 5.15pm at a practically empty Loetje. The host (also serving/taking orders), when already seated, told us we had to leave by 6pm because we hadn’t made a reservation. Mind you this huge restaurant was practically empty. Not a kind request but rather a firm statement to make sure we’d leave by 6pm. The host (and manager of the evening) was not pleasant or welcoming. While seated and receiving the menu, I made an online reservation and informed the host that we had just made reservations and thus wouldn’t be leaving by 6pm. A tad annoyed the host/manager received the information and confirmed my reservation. For the rest of the evening this woman ignored us. Until I told her colleague I wish to file a complaint. While wishing to file a complaint for this unprofessional and unwelcoming behaviour of the host, I was not given the information of where to file my complaint or the name of the manager in charge. But now suddenly the host/manager of the evening, wanted to talk and ‘make it up to us’ (trying to avoid a complaint is what it felt like. She never apologised. Was just trying to justify herself). A little too late. I asked her several times to let us be. I told her she was ruining the evening for us. She didn’t care. She wouldn’t leave us alone, though repeatedly asked, and ruined our evening to selfishly avoid a complaint. I’ve eaten many many times at this and different locations (as a student I would regularly go to the first Loetje) and have never had this kind of treatment or experience at Loetje. They always go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. I will come back, I love Loetje! Just make sure to make a reservation in order to avoid a similar bitter experience!

The calf's liver was undercooked, so I sent it back. Back in the pan, but the end result wasn't great. The steak was overcooked. All in all, not the best experience this time. Unfortunately…

There were three waitstaff. One of them, a middle-aged blonde lady, serves the drinks without looking at you or using any other form of communication. I can tell you that something so seemingly simple creates a peculiar sensation! The other two (male) staff members were just friendly, as was another blonde lady whose shift started a bit later.

The food was cold (it wasn't the first time). We had ordered grilled vegetables and received different vegetables than what was on the menu (with mushrooms, which we don't like). The response was that all the vegetables are in one big bowl and that they cannot separate them. It was extremely noisy in the restaurant. In short, we won't be eating at Loetje again.

Part of the order did not arrive at the same time, causing us to wait in between. We had explicitly requested this. A portion was not served at all but was charged for. The ambiance was good and the food was of good quality. However, it could be better, certainly for this price.

Reminds me of the mess halls from military service.

Unfortunately, I can't give more than two stars today. My steak was supposed to be medium, but it was overcooked. Well, what can you do? Sending it back and throwing it away is a waste, so I did eat it. I assume this can happen. Loetje is always top-notch and the food is delicious. Mistakes can always happen, so next time I'll just come back and enjoy myself at your place again. :-)

Great food, good price, grumpy staff :)

We come once every few months, and it has become one of those places where we know what to expect and can trust the food. The steaks are the main reason we keep going back, they are always really good and the sauces/sides work well with them. Service has also been friendly whenever we have been there. It is not a cheap dinner, but I also would not say it feels overpriced for Amsterdam, especially if you are going for steak. Last time we paid around €57 per person, including drinks, sides and dessert. Good place for a relaxed meal when you want something reliable.

The 0.0 steak was very tasty, although my dining partner and I thought the outside tasted strongly of fish. The only criticism I have is the butter sauce; there was a bit too much butter, so it solidified during the meal and wasn't tasty anymore. The vegetables were okay, some bell peppers and mushrooms. The service and staff were very friendly and attentive. I asked for a quiet spot and was really well assisted. The waitress was a very sweet lady from South Africa.

Apparently it is a very popular restaurant in Amsterdam as lots of people recommend it, but our experiences were different. Service wasn't the best and food was only ok. I have steak tenderloins , the steak itself was great but the sauce and the white bread doesn't really match..it was very oily.

A better than nice venue with a great feel and fit out. The meal was enjoyable and staff were fine/good. The look and feel of the venue is great and we enjoyed the gentle chatter of other diners around us, giving the night a good vibe. (Staff started packing away tables and chairs before we finished dinner which was very loud and annoying)

As always, the garlic sauce beef never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is super friendly. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a big plus, and they have a fantastic terrace perfect for enjoying a warm spring or summer afternoon. Highly recommended—definitely worth a visit!

The food was delicious, no doubt about that. Tender meat, very soft and the fries where crunchy as they should. The service was another story; we had to wait long after our main course. The table next to us arrived later but they already had dessert and left while we where still waiting for our table to be cleaned and asked of we wanted dessert or something else to drink.

We went to Loetje with guests from abroad because it is always good. We had a nice meal, but my beef tenderloin Bali was tougher/less tender than I am used to. Also, I was not comfortable at all. We were seated at a round table with a corner bench, which was otherwise a fine spot, but the bench was very saggy, causing me to sit low. I sat on the edge to sit a bit higher. Please take a look at this! Otherwise, we had a pleasant evening.

Delicious food and super friendly service!

The place is quite nice overall, with a good atmosphere and decent service. The only downside is that the terrace closes very early, which is a pity, especially on nice evenings when you’d love to stay outside a bit longer.
