It is a pity that you are insulted by the waiter because of your dietary request.

I ate at Loetje Laren today and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was great right from the start, and the food was delicious and top-quality. The location is also beautiful and completes the experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food in a lovely setting!

The food was delicious, just as you'd expect from Loetje. The carpaccio was super tender and flavorful. It was also great that it wasn't served too cold. The steak was fantastic; we chose garlic and Balinese, both truly delicious. For dessert, we had the cream puff with "boerenjongens" (a type of "boerenjongens") and the sticky toffee. We loved it. Absolutely fantastic, we highly recommend Loetje Laren!

Great food, nice atmosphere, and pleasant service. It did get a bit busier later on.

Had a glass of wine. Compliments for the lovely decor. The young waiter is really overly arrogant. Just be friendly and leave your ego at the door.

Six of us had a wonderful meal for our daughters' 21st birthday. The staff was so friendly. There was so much to choose from, and everything tasted delicious. The cozy restaurant was easy to find, with a huge parking lot right next to it.

The food was delicious. Top-notch service. A true Loetje! But the service is definitely the highlight. Besides filling our bellies, we also had a good laugh. What a fun, humorous team! We were mainly served by Maurice. Nothing was too much trouble. It made dining out an even better experience. Highly recommended.

When we were eating outside on the terrace, it was closed and no one came to check on us, let alone clear our plates. We still wanted coffee, so we had to go inside to ask if someone could come outside. We were immediately told, "We're not serving outside anymore!" After I explained that we were still eating outside, they sent someone over, which took another 15 to 20 minutes. Then someone came to clear our plates, but no ice cream menu was offered. We quickly ordered two more coffees. Half an hour later, after the plates were cleared and two coffees were ordered, the man I'd spoken to inside came back. "You asked if I could come outside," he explained, "and someone had already been there." Strange! We'd come all the way there, but I don't know if this is worth repeating. I'll have to sleep on it. Delicious steak, and a small issue with the salad I ordered was quickly resolved. Super!

The Balinese tuna steak was at least as good as the regular steak. Alexander served us well. He was polite, courteous, and cheerful. A very pleasant experience, and there was a parking spot right outside. Excellent!

The food was fine, but a big compliment to the service at Loetje in Laren. My parents had Albert Heijn discount coupons (with those terribly awkward barcodes), and they weren't quite right. They responded extremely kindly, professionally, and patiently to help this 80-year-old. Loetje in Huizen could learn a thing or two from this.

Incredibly good steak in Balinese sauce You'll feel like royalty here. Great selection of food. Incredibly delicious steak. We ordered the XL version with Balinese gravy. Mmmmm. The best steak with gravy ever. You can choose how well done you want it. We chose medium. Delicious rolls for dipping and we also ordered fries. Mmmmmm We will definitely be back. We didn't make a reservation. We should have, but we still managed to get in. Parking was very easy, and it's a beautiful location.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

That garlic tenderloin steak is fantastic. I have to admit, though, that gravy is the icing on the cake. I've seen some mixed reviews of Loetje on social media, but it's always a matter of personal taste, and I loved it. If you like a well-cooked steak with gravy, Loetje is the place to be. If you prefer a BBQ steak, you should go to an Argentinian restaurant. They also have a good location and friendly staff.

We went out for dinner, first an aperitif, then a super delicious steak with sauce. I've never had such delicious sauce with a sandwich. The service was attentive, we wanted for nothing. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Good food, but for once no steak

We had a wonderful meal on the terrace. Great service (even a bowl of water for the dog), and the tenderloin was perfect as always.

Wat een vreselijke avond was dit… de prijs kwaliteit verhouding is bar triest. Groente uit potjes, atjar uit potjes. Ik had Patatje rendang, bleek alleen geen rendang te zijn maar fruit met pompoen friet. Toen ik aangaf dat ik rendang besteld had, werd er gezegd. U mag iets anders bestellen maar moet ook de rendang afrekenen en dan eventueel een nieuw gerecht ook! Belachelijk! 2 uur gezeten en 3 keer de ober moeten zwaaien om, drinken te kunnen krijgen. Idem voor de desert kaart Personeel is ongeïnteresseerd en zelfs beetje popie joopie. Helemaal klaar met loetje!

The food was as usual from Loetje, a delicious steak. But a special compliment to the young man who served us. We had a chat with him at the end, and he's from Moldova. Kudos to him for being cheerful, spontaneous, and polite!

The food is good there, but the service could be better. Several times after ordering drinks, I received nothing after addressing this. I received an apology, but the same thing happened the next time.

Today we decided to eat at Loetje in Laren, a different location than usual. As soon as you open the door, you're greeted by the loud voices. Even at the table, you have to speak quite loudly to hear each other. We ordered two cocktails, sweet potato fries, bread, and two Loetje steaks with garlic gravy. The cocktails arrived quickly and were delicious, and the food was served shortly after. The steak was cooked well, but the gravy was far too salty. Even dipping the bread wasn't very good... and the garlic? Perhaps it was too salty. To finish, we had a hot drink and then decided to leave. The staff is friendly and serves quickly after ordering. Because of the loud voices (comparable to a chicken coop), we couldn't really sit comfortably, and the salty gravy didn't do the steak any favors, especially considering the price. It's a shame we didn't have a good experience during our visit.

In het centrum van Laten gelegen met veel parkeergelegenheid. Standaard kaart zoals voor alle Loetje-locaties. Kaart is vlees georiënteerd maar er zijn ook alternatieven. Voorgerecht paling was erg goed (ruime portie en vers). De biefstuk was voortreffelijk. Voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Porties zijn groot genoeg.

Yesterday, I walked into Laren with a good friend after a long shopping spree. My friend went to use the restroom when I arrived, while I was already seated at a table. Even though we were clearly guests and hadn't just come in to use the restroom, the male server insisted on asking her what she wanted to drink. She hadn't even had a chance to look at the drinks menu! It was also disappointing that they didn't have any other milk options, which is obviously not ideal for people with allergies. We ended up ordering two Coke Zeros and a portion of bitterballen. To our great annoyance, the bitterballen hadn't arrived at all, and by then we were done with it and asked for the bill from the same male server. While paying, I mentioned my disappointment that the bitterballen hadn't arrived. The server seemed convinced he'd mentioned it, but it wasn't just missing from the table, but also from the receipt, so that's definitely why it wasn't mentioned. It's a shame that a pleasant day ended in dissatisfaction, hence this review.

Great location in the center of Laren. I had one of Loetjes's signature steaks, and it was delicious. My dining companion had a vegetarian burger, which was also delicious. Afterwards, we ordered ice cream, which was very good. It was simply excellent. It's a shame the tables are so close together, but you quickly get used to that.

We had a delicious meal with the AH discount coupon. We had beef tenderloin in gravy and Balinese sauce, bread, salad, and fries. We paid €19.50 for this with the coupon. Drinks were paid separately.

Stubborn staff, unable to handle unusual requests. Unable to provide a roll with herb butter, but instead, they simply threw casino white on the table without any explanation. Grumpy, incomprehensible waitress. Expensive dishes, and then you have to order your salad and fries separately. No explanation for that either, and you get yelled at! And got sick from the lemon-flavored churros and spoiled cream. Reported to the NVWA (Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority). Never again to Loetje for us!

Donderdag 10 juli 2025 gaan lunchen bij Loetje in Laren. Partner koos voor de biefstuk en daar is vooralsnog niets op aan te merken. Alleen dat de biefstuk steeds kleiner wordt en als je om een heet bord vraagt dit niet schijnt te lukken. Halverwege dat de biefstuk opgegeten is, ligt de jus half gestolten op het bord. Daarbij duidelijk voor 1 persoon friet besteld, dus niet om te delen maar er werd toch een grote bak friet geserveerd die 3/4 overbleef. Serveerster heeft het uiteindelijk van de factuur afgetrokken. Ze was het duidelijk niet met mij eens. Ik bestelde de kipburger en de burger vond ik niet te eten. Minimaal sla, atjarzuur en gebakken ui. So far, so good. Maar dan de “burger” was omwikkeld door een dikke laag, sorry, weet niet wat het was, soort dikke meelkorst. Onderkant en bovenkant en tussenin zat een dun lapje kipfilet. Al met al, een onsmakelijk gebeuren. Zeker geen aanrader.

Had a great time with a friend but also had a great meal. On the advice of a very nice employee I took the tip of Loetje and I didn't regret it! Every reason to come back again.

Ordered delicious calf's liver (favorite). Unfortunately, the liver was quite raw. Employee took plate to the kitchen (my fries were lukewarm). When returned, the plate clearly contained the reheated original dish. Actually looked a bit gross and tasted very bitter. Too bad. If you make a mistake as a chef: take your loss and make a new fresh plate.

You are in the right place at Loetje. We regularly eat a steak here (for me the steak Bali), but today unexpectedly a lunch dish. A 12 o'clock and a chicken Bali sandwich. Always fresh and tasty.

The meat is special.. But tasty. And of good quality. Fries just one plus that there is immediately enough fries.. Salad is also good.. There is enough food for a normal price.

Loetje Laren is highly recommended! The steak is always cooked to perfection and the gravy is finger-licking good – full of flavour and just right. Whether you choose the Bali, Original or the garlic version, it is all delicious. Always a cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and consistently top quality. A firm favourite for a night out!

Food and service was good, only annoying that dogs are allowed. Continuous barking and turning of dogs is annoying. Also not hygienic!

Great food (vegetarian was also very good), good service and very busy but cozy inside. Only point for improvement is the (difficult) stairs you have to climb to go to the toilet. Great price (you get large portions) and more than enough free parking spaces in front of the door.

Tasty and practical food. When you enter, you will be helped after some time and shown to your seat, all steps take a while, ordering drinks, receiving a dinner menu, but it is clear that your table needs to be sold again. Service staff are part of the pressure to continue working so that the service leaves something to be desired. Young staff still find it awkward to be truly hospitable. Usually order a steak de rode, that is with onion, bacon and liver, even if you pay €12.50 extra to upgrade from the standard 150gr to 300gr, the steak is the smallest on your plate, so I always have the feeling that I get less meat than ordered/paid for.

Spontaneous action and with a group of friends to Loetje in Laren. Parking is available right in front of the door and then a lovely, warm welcome from polite, polite but also pleasant staff. Vriendelijke bediening. Voor het eten kom ik niet terug. Er werd niet gevraagd hoe we het vlees gebakken wilden hebben en bij voor en hoofdgerecht kregen we stapel casinobrood.

Weer heerlijk genoten van een biefstuk Bali. Het blijkt toch het lekkerste biefstukje. Quinty zorgde als een goede gastvrouw voor ons. Dat maakte het plaatje helemaal compleet.

Maybe it was the hustle and bustle of the evening, but unfortunately the service was very poor. One of the ladies working there was constantly rolling their eyes when we asked for extra bread. In addition, food or drinks were forgotten several times, which meant that one of us was always left without food. Very disappointing experience. The food was tasty, so compliments to the kitchen (and to one of the servers who was the only one who could address us with a smile)

Weer een keer bij Loetje, en ook dit keer weer heel erg lekker gegeten. Helaas was de na de reservering gevraagde lage tafel tocht niet goed verwerkt. Ook erg jammer dat er voor een glas warm water 3,40 euro wordt gerekend. Service was verder uitstekend!

My first experience at Loetje. So high expectations. The service was very friendly and attentive. The carpaccio beforehand was very tasty. The famous Loetje steak with gravy was tasty, but I expected more. Not in terms of size (200 gr was enough) but in terms of taste or gravy. The side dishes are also quite expensive. (6.75 for fries or beans) For dessert I had a Sticky Toffee, which looked like a mega chocolate Brownie but didn't taste like chocolate. It was very tasty. When asked, it turned out to be made from dates. We had a nice meal.

Loetje Laren is an absolute must! We have been here several times and it has been a great experience every time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and cozy, which makes it a perfect place for a dinner with friends or family. The location is also beautiful, easily accessible and with ample parking nearby. The staff deserves a special mention: they are always friendly, hospitable and really do their best to ensure you have a pleasant evening. The service is attentive, thinks along and ensures that you are not short of anything, which takes the service to a higher level. The menu is of course what Loetje is known for, and they don't disappoint in Laren either. The tenderloin in gravy is a true classic that is perfectly prepared every time. The side dishes, such as fries and salads, are also of high quality and complete the dish. By the way, you shouldn't skip dessert; the Dame Blanche is highly recommended. In short, Loetje Laren combines a cozy atmosphere with delicious food and excellent service. A place where we would like to come back and which we definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant evening with good food. Until next time, Loetje!

The steak was cold inside in 3 of the 4, this was indicated to the waiter with the glasses and he took them back and reheated us, we received back the steak that we had already cut open. What a disappointment. The crust was too hard, the inside was still raw, so I returned it and asked for a new one. The young man who served us with an Italian accent was very friendly and professional, which made up for a lot.

The service is fast and friendly. The steak is delicious, just a touch salty at most. And a good beer list. Remove valuables from the car in the restaurant parking lot, as break-ins are common.

By now there are many Loetjes, but not all of them measure up. This is a good one. If you're not familiar with the chain you can expect a decent steak for a reasonable price along with a decent selection large portioned sides well suited for sharing. I'm writing this review out of a sense of fairness after recently one starring the Loetje in Hilversum for serving me bad beef, avoid that one. I don't that will happen at this one.

I had dinner here with my children over the weekend. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and escorted to our table. The decor is rustic but modern and very cozy. We were served very friendly and did not have to wait long for our food. It was all very tasty. I eat vegetarian and it was no problem for me to find something! the vegetarian burger was very tasty! My children also felt very comfortable. Everyone found something to their liking on the menu. We will definitely come back!!! Great service! Thank you very much for the nice evening!

Had a super nice lunch with my family at Loetje Laren last Saturday. It was my birthday and there was also a gift in the form of fireworks. The host did his best to make it a party. Thanks for an unforgettable lunch people from Loetje!

Sinds overname gaat kwaliteit en kwantiteit omlaag. Matige fastfood voor sterren restaurant prijzen. Had mijzelf voorgenomen om er niet meer naar toe te gaan. Gezien ander restaurant vol was toch weer geprobeerd. Paar jaar geleden moest je buiten of aan de bar wachten op een plekje te krijgen in Loetje Laren. Maar tegenwoordig is het 1/2 leeg en altijd een plekje te krijgen. Ik begrijp nu waarom. Verbaast over de hoge prijzen. Biefstuk bijna 40 euro. Met zijn 3 en, bij twee was het eten niet in orde. Tonijn biefstuk was totaal doorgebakken en droog terwijl rauw was gevraagd. Maaltijd salade tonijn , was geen maaltijdsalade maar de hoeveelheid van een klein voorgerecht. Sla een eer paar stukjes tonijn. Smakeloos. Wat van gezegd maar geen verbetering. Vroeger kwam ik er wekelijks maar nu zal ik nooit meer komen.

Had an unpleasant experience as a pregnant woman with Loetje Laren. A nice day out last Saturday. On their wedding day, we treated my parents to a fun ultrasound at Baby Glimpse and then lunch at Loetje in Laren. However, there was a man serving who came across as very blunt, sarcastic and unfriendly. Several times he tried to be funny and very rudely interfered in our personal conversations. He personally corrected me several times when I was the first to know what I wanted to drink or eat, indicated to my mother that it was about education (sarcastically towards me) and called my boyfriend a yes-man. My surprise was greatest when I asked for an adjustment at 12 o'clock. He immediately said that this was not possible. At first I thought he was joking, but he then asked very directly why I didn't want the tuna salad. I indicated that I was pregnant. He then questioned not being allowed to eat tuna, indicated that in the past everyone could just eat anything and refused to make any changes without checking with the kitchen. I then took the chicken club sandwich. Of course it was also delicious, but I had never experienced a pregnancy in any restaurant where pregnancy was not taken into account and certainly not where communication was so blunt. Because of our fun day out, my friend and I decided not to say anything on the spot, but I felt so uncomfortable and ridiculed. If this man actually propagates Loetje's policy as it is intended, we will never visit one of the branches again.

Everything great, except acoustics. All tables occupied, pandemonium.

Always liked Loetje, because what's better than steak with gravy and bread. Now had to wait a very long time for bread, ultimately did not receive it, staff too busy and not attentive. Restaurant way too busy. Steak nice and tender, but next time I will make it myself. I did have a drink to compensate, so that's why I got an extra star.

On Boxing Day, as always, we had a delicious meal at Loetje's. Delicious food and attentive service. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was not as usual because we were given a table on the first floor where it was not so atmospheric. If we had known this when booking, we would certainly have looked for another restaurant for Boxing Day.

Loetje is always one of my favorite places to eat. Loetje Laren is no exception. Quick service with a smile! And the food is truly amazing. A simple steak elevated to the next level with the ‘Bali’ jus.
