Good service, fast and good food. The waiter was a friendly guy.

What a wonderful evening we had. Good service, delicious food. It was absolutely top-notch. Loetje Huizen could learn a thing or two from them.

Had a delicious lunch using an AH discount voucher. Pleasant service, everyone had their own bowl of salad and fries, and there was more than enough. Everything was great!

The service was curt and listless. Lacking presence and enthusiasm. The sole had roe, resulting in 2 small fish, and lay in a bath of gravy. The fries were tossed into a bowl on top of a dollop of mayonnaise. The head waiter was arrogant and indifferent when I voiced my disappointment. I had wanted to be informed in advance about the sole, that it currently had roe. "Yes, that is just the way it is." He could barely manage a "goodbye." Well, I didn't think so.

Very poor service; no staff came over to ask what we wanted to drink, but just stood around chatting amongst themselves. Part of the order was not brought, and was eventually deducted from the bill. That is not the kind of place to go out for a pleasant dinner. They say it is due to a staff shortage, but that does not align with what I observed.

For a steak, you can really only go to Loetje. You know for sure it's good. Plus, delicious fries and a tasty, fresh salad.

I don't find the steak particularly special. I had the slightly larger steak with onion and liver. Under a mountain of onion lay 2 smaller steaks. It was served with dry white bread.

Been there often, but the last few times have been downright bad. We were late in the evening and even asked if it was still possible. Upon entering, we were practically shown the door; they didn't ask during the meal either if it tasted like absolutely nothing. The bread with the steak was 6 slices for 6 people; for me, definitely not going back a second time anytime soon.

I don't like the attitude of some of the staff. If you sit where they tell you to and don't expect extra service, there's no problem. Je moet braaf zijn 😉

It was chaotic among the staff outside this time. Our order was also partly delivered incorrectly and partly forgotten. That was resolved quickly, though. Unfortunately, my son had very little gravy with his steak again. Otherwise, it is always busy, and we did enjoy our meal again. What I find very unfortunate is that smoking is allowed on the terrace.

This was our first and last time. The food was mediocre, not up to par with a restaurant. The steaks were fried in greasy oil, just like in a cheap roadside cafe. The older, bespectacled waiter was terrible and treated us like we were nobody. The dirty plates from our dinner sat there for over 30 minutes after someone had cleared them away. It was terrible.

It was quite busy despite the reservation, and it also took quite a long time before you could order anything. But the good atmosphere and top-notch food more than make up for it.

I come here regularly for lunch or dinner, and it is actually always top-notch. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the service is really excellent. In all the times I’ve been here, nothing ever really goes wrong. Additionally, they have an extensive wine and beer list, so there is plenty of choice. For me, this is definitely the best Loetje in the Netherlands.

We ate at Loetje Laren for the first time; we know the concept but had never been here before. Friendly service, lovely with the air conditioning on, and a delicious meal.

Once again, we enjoyed the delicious 0.0 steak; according to the other members of our party, they enjoyed the delicious steaks too! If you still have "young ones" after this dish... that is truly remarkable... fries, fried onions, mushrooms, and salad are served in generous portions. Above all, the staff are exceptionally friendly and hospitable! Highly recommended!

Went to eat at Loetje Laren yesterday and it wasn't good. The chicken satay was dry, the satay sauce seemed to come from a jar and was far too strong in flavor (add more water next time?). The atjar was too sour and intense in taste; there was absolutely no balance on the plate. The only tasty thing was the extra salad we ordered. Last night, three people in our party got sick and were throwing up. So, hygiene is clearly not up to par. The service, however, is excellent! It is not the serving staff's fault. The kitchen and prices are shameful for the quality you get.

Steak Bali!! It remains so delicious. No matter how often you come. The quality of the food and the service in Laren are always superb.

Cozy restaurant in an old but renovated farmhouse. Pleasant terrace, prompt and friendly service. The food was very tasty. Parking is available with a parking disc next to the restaurant in the parking lot. Unfortunately, I did not see a toilet downstairs and had to climb 3 flights of stairs. Not really easy if you have mobility issues.

A fan of Loetje, the location was very nice. There was a fair going on but who cared. The staff had to deal with 3 sick people (38°☀️) so they really did their best. But it seems like the steak gets smaller every time....

The steak itself is tasty and the fries are good. The location in Laren is very atmospheric. However, I cannot get used to the concept: no vegetables or salad without paying extra. The price-quality ratio is a bit skewed, but that is not just the case in Laren; that is the case at every Loetje!

Many tables inside were empty, but there was no room (we were told there was a staff shortage), so I ended up sitting among people smoking while I just wanted to eat in peace; it was just filthy. Service takes a long time, food takes a long time. The burger was a tasteless meatball on a bun; only the bun was good, a real burger bun. Cutlery as old as the hills, like eating in Battambang, Cambodia. The menu was too filthy to touch. When leaving, there were quite a few people inside, so there was actually room and staff to serve us; they just want to decide where you sit. And for the prices on the menu, it is truly scandalously bad! Never again Loetje for me, and a definite no-go for anyone who wants good food and just normal service from the staff they are hired for.

We took advantage of the AH lunch promotion and had a nice meal in a quiet indoor setting (it was too hot outside today). They just forgot the white bread; we had to ask about it.

Cozy and elegant but down to earth as well! Great for any day! The steak is never disappointing, always perfect! Fast and professional service.

The food was fine, but it was very busy. And when it was (almost) full, you really had to speak louder because it sounded like a chicken coop from the hubbub. But that is something you can't really change when you are sitting close together.

Loetje Laren is always a great place to grab a bite to eat. The menu is familiar and clear. The service is quick and friendly, and the price is reasonable (especially for my village, Laren...).

Usual quality, very good steak. Parking right outside in a large parking lot, when there is no market! Today we sat in a small room upstairs with a group of 20 people at a long table; there was also a presentation facility, in-house service, everything was arranged perfectly.

I visited here for the first time today and had both lunch and dinner. The atmosphere was really very pleasant—a nice table and everything was very clean. One thing that struck me (and I don't want to sound judgmental) is that some of the older staff seemed a bit less energetic and less approachable, which made placing an order slightly more difficult. I have been to Loetje in Huizen many times and it was always great, which is why I wanted to try this location in Laren. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The steak looked overcooked on the outside and a bit burnt. We didn't want to make an issue of it at the time, as the staff didn't seem to be having their best day.

Nice to have lunch here after visiting the Singer Museum Laren. A short walk through Laren so you can see the center at the same time. Just outside the center, less crowded, which is very nice. Extensive menu. Also delicious pastries. Prompt and friendly service. Lovely terrace.

It's perfectly fine for vegetarians too. It's a shame they didn't organize anything for my brother's birthday, but the food was good. Easy parking right outside. The toilet is a bit far away (up a few flights of stairs).

Just a tasty steak. No frills, no garnish, but bread. The steak is tasty, the gravy is good. The steak tartare starter was also tasty; no raw egg, but a sauce instead. Everything geared towards speed and mass appeal, but fine food. Not high-end, but what do you expect?

Very expensive for what it is (a glorified American chain), very long wait times, even if you have a reservation, but the food is quite reasonable and the staff is generally friendly and relaxed.

My second visit to Loetje Laren – and unfortunately, also the last. Normally, I don't bother writing a review, but I did this time anyway. It is incredibly busy and noisy; you can barely hear each other and leave with a headache. Although we had a nice evening, it was ruined by the behavior of a waiter. When paying the bill, he made several inappropriate remarks, including that I "easily" passed the bill on to my boyfriend and that "women think that's normal." This wasn't the only thing he said, and it created a very awkward situation. When I pointed out that we have a joint bill to pay for our restaurant (ridiculous that I had to mention this), he reacted cynically and dismissed it as a joke. This kind of behavior is absolutely not part of good service. Very disappointing.

Stunning place inside and out. We were welcomed warmly, the service was fun, and the steak was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Bali steak with garlic myself (always amazing). Fries and salad were excellent.

Went to eat at Loetje Laren at the invitation of friends. Pleasantly busy with prompt service. We had the AH dinner with a limited selection. No problem at all; good quality and sufficient quantity. It is always handy to order some extras like fries and salad. Looking forward to the next time.

Last Sunday we had dinner at Loetje with 4 people and honestly the food was reasonable (steak cooked incorrectly) and considering the price-quality ratio we thought it was far too expensive for what was served.

I ordered and received a steak Balinese, but I paid for a classic steak Balinese. I only realized it when I got home. I'm going to get my overpayment refunded tomorrow!

Loetje's steak remains unmatched despite its acquisition by a large chain. However, this is reflected in the price, which is becoming truly exorbitant. I miss the option to pre-order a baguette with spreads at Loetje. Furthermore, I found it annoying at this branch that we were seated near the door, which sometimes stayed open for a long time. This made it uncomfortable. The atmosphere could be improved. The decor is rather dull and plain.

Upon arrival, we had to wait at the bar for our reserved table with at least four other couples/groups who had made reservations because it was all running late. Only after waiting for over 45 minutes, unable to even stand at the bar due to the crowd, did we get our table at 7:45 PM. Luckily, the steak we came for was delicious! I would definitely come back for that. Dessert, a chocolate trio, was mediocre. Regarding the service, an apology for the long wait would have been appropriate in this case.

The steak at Loetje is always excellent, and that's what I come for. I found the atmosphere/decor at this particular Loetje a bit disappointing, but that didn't detract from the taste.

Loetje's wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and all at a more than reasonable price, all in a truly excellent meal. I could eat there every day. You can't go wrong with eating here!

Tonight we had a fantastic steak with the family, the gravy alone deserves a 10, in short, highly recommended.

I ate at Loetje Laren today and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was great right from the start, and the food was delicious and top-quality. The location is also beautiful and completes the experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food in a lovely setting!

The food was delicious, just as you'd expect from Loetje. The carpaccio was super tender and flavorful. It was also great that it wasn't served too cold. The steak was fantastic; we chose garlic and Balinese, both truly delicious. For dessert, we had the cream puff with "boerenjongens" (a type of "boerenjongens") and the sticky toffee. We loved it. Absolutely fantastic, we highly recommend Loetje Laren!

Had a glass of wine. Compliments for the lovely decor. The young waiter is really overly arrogant. Just be friendly and leave your ego at the door.

Six of us had a wonderful meal for our daughters' 21st birthday. The staff was so friendly. There was so much to choose from, and everything tasted delicious. The cozy restaurant was easy to find, with a huge parking lot right next to it.

The food was delicious. Top-notch service. A true Loetje! But the service is definitely the highlight. Besides filling our bellies, we also had a good laugh. What a fun, humorous team! We were mainly served by Maurice. Nothing was too much trouble. It made dining out an even better experience. Highly recommended.

If you want a truly delicious steak, this is the place to be. I've had steak in many places, but this one surpasses them all. Fantastic!

When we were eating outside on the terrace, it was closed and no one came to check on us, let alone clear our plates. We still wanted coffee, so we had to go inside to ask if someone could come outside. We were immediately told, "We're not serving outside anymore!" After I explained that we were still eating outside, they sent someone over, which took another 15 to 20 minutes. Then someone came to clear our plates, but no ice cream menu was offered. We quickly ordered two more coffees. Half an hour later, after the plates were cleared and two coffees were ordered, the man I'd spoken to inside came back. "You asked if I could come outside," he explained, "and someone had already been there." Strange! We'd come all the way there, but I don't know if this is worth repeating. I'll have to sleep on it. The Balinese tuna steak was at least as good as the regular steak. Alexander served us well. He was polite, courteous, and cheerful. A very pleasant experience, and there was a parking spot right outside. Excellent!

The food was fine, but a big compliment to the service at Loetje in Laren. My parents had Albert Heijn discount coupons (with those terribly awkward barcodes), and they weren't quite right. They responded extremely kindly, professionally, and patiently to help this 80-year-old. Loetje in Huizen could learn a thing or two from this.

Incredibly good steak in Balinese sauce You'll feel like royalty here. Great selection of food. Incredibly delicious steak. We ordered the XL version with Balinese gravy. Mmmmm. The best steak with gravy ever. You can choose how well done you want it. We chose medium. Delicious rolls for dipping and we also ordered fries. Mmmmmm We will definitely be back. We didn't make a reservation. We should have, but we still managed to get in. Parking was very easy, and it's a beautiful location.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

That garlic tenderloin steak is fantastic. I have to admit, though, that gravy is the icing on the cake. I've seen some mixed reviews of Loetje on social media, but it's always a matter of personal taste, and I loved it. If you like a well-cooked steak with gravy, Loetje is the place to be. If you prefer a BBQ steak, you should go to an Argentinian restaurant. They also have a good location and friendly staff.

We went out for dinner, first an aperitif, then a super delicious steak with sauce. I've never had such delicious sauce with a sandwich. The service was attentive, we wanted for nothing. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Good food, but for once no steak

We had a wonderful meal on the terrace. Great service (even a bowl of water for the dog), and the tenderloin was perfect as always.

The food was as usual from Loetje, a delicious steak. But a special compliment to the young man who served us. We had a chat with him at the end, and he's from Moldova. Kudos to him for being cheerful, spontaneous, and polite!

Lunch on a beautiful terrace. Steak with bread and fries: delicious! Drinks good! Delicious cappuccino. Poke bowl: way too spicy, therefore not tasty.

Wat een vreselijke avond was dit… de prijs kwaliteit verhouding is bar triest. Groente uit potjes, atjar uit potjes. Ik had Patatje rendang, bleek alleen geen rendang te zijn maar fruit met pompoen friet. Toen ik aangaf dat ik rendang besteld had, werd er gezegd. U mag iets anders bestellen maar moet ook de rendang afrekenen en dan eventueel een nieuw gerecht ook! Belachelijk! 2 uur gezeten en 3 keer de ober moeten zwaaien om, drinken te kunnen krijgen. Idem voor de desert kaart Personeel is ongeïnteresseerd en zelfs beetje popie joopie. Helemaal klaar met loetje!

In het centrum van Laten gelegen met veel parkeergelegenheid. Standaard kaart zoals voor alle Loetje-locaties. Kaart is vlees georiënteerd maar er zijn ook alternatieven. Voorgerecht paling was erg goed (ruime portie en vers). De biefstuk was voortreffelijk. Voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Porties zijn groot genoeg.

Today we decided to eat at Loetje in Laren, a different location than usual. As soon as you open the door, you're greeted by the loud voices. Even at the table, you have to speak quite loudly to hear each other. We ordered two cocktails, sweet potato fries, bread, and two Loetje steaks with garlic gravy. The cocktails arrived quickly and were delicious, and the food was served shortly after. The steak was cooked well, but the gravy was far too salty. Even dipping the bread wasn't very good... and the garlic? Perhaps it was too salty. To finish, we had a hot drink and then decided to leave. The staff is friendly and serves quickly after ordering. Because of the loud voices (comparable to a chicken coop), we couldn't really sit comfortably, and the salty gravy didn't do the steak any favors, especially considering the price. It's a shame we didn't have a good experience during our visit.

Yesterday, I walked into Laren with a good friend after a long shopping spree. My friend went to use the restroom when I arrived, while I was already seated at a table. Even though we were clearly guests and hadn't just come in to use the restroom, the male server insisted on asking her what she wanted to drink. She hadn't even had a chance to look at the drinks menu! It was also disappointing that they didn't have any other milk options, which is obviously not ideal for people with allergies. We ended up ordering two Coke Zeros and a portion of bitterballen. To our great annoyance, the bitterballen hadn't arrived at all, and by then we were done with it and asked for the bill from the same male server. While paying, I mentioned my disappointment that the bitterballen hadn't arrived. The server seemed convinced he'd mentioned it, but it wasn't just missing from the table, but also from the receipt, so that's definitely why it wasn't mentioned. It's a shame that a pleasant day ended in dissatisfaction, hence this review.
