Los Pilones restaurant in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

Used to be such a nice place with delicious margaritas. Some bald guy (I believe he was the owner or manager) kicked us out just because we asked for a table for 4. Being condescending about our knowledge of the covid regulations. Even the waitress was like "what are you doing". No wonder it's was the only empty place on the Nieuwmarkt yesterday. Drank a nice margarita at the Cuba instead with excellent service.

Please is small but super cute, we loved all the details. Typical Mexican atmosphere, warm cozy, food is delicious and for whomever is saying the portion are small, that’s not true, portion are fine to be share and get you the taste to taste more dishes. We were 4 and shared 6 dishes all extremely good. I will definitely put this among my favorite spot!

A little place with the most authentic tacos around Amsterdam. The tacos de carnitas were to die for ! Service was also amazing.

Delicious!!! We had carnitas, asada, and al pastor tacos, and everything was delicious. Especially the carnitas. Thumbs up! My dad is from Michoacán, so he knows what he's supposed to taste like, and everything was spectacular. The service was wonderful, and the salsas were delicious!!! If you're a Mexican craving something in Amsterdam, this is a must!

Delicious and excellent service

The beef tacos with chorizo are excellent. Great hot sauces. We had the nachos too, which they loaded up with cheese, jalapenos, and guac. Excellent meal!

Best Mexican restaurant in Europe.

Bit of a mixed experience, here. The tacos and nachos were absolutely delicious, but the rest of the food left a bit to be desired. We ordered two quite expensive pitchers of margaritas which were very low in alcohol and not particularly tasty. The server was nice enough to add some more alcohol to them.

Nice place with good service. Food is overpriced for the quality, but it is a nice place. You can get micheladas with proper mexican beers and they will make them spicy too. 4 tacos for 25€ is a lot to pay.

Such a cute place. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent. The spicy margarita was very spicy but not a lingering spice, just spicy up front. Al Pastor taco meat was prepared very well. Really good and recommended!

Sehr lecker! Mit einer relativ grossen Gruppe konnten wir innerhalb der Lokalitäten noch 2 Tische erhalten. Der Service war sehr freundlich & das Essen war sehr köstlich. Die Chips mit Quagamole sowie die Nachos sind als Vorspeise ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen. Im Restaurant selbst war es sehr warm. Hinweis: falls man schärfe nicht verträgt, beim bestellen dem Personal mitteilen. ;)

Really good authentic Mexican food. Massively better than the chain types. Basic menu choices, but all that I had had great flavour. Service was very friendly. Only a small place, so book in advance if in a big group.

This place has a very small menu with a atmosphere that looks more like a bar than a restaurant. I had quesadillas and tacos.

Mycket trevlig restaurang lite bortanför turiststråken. Bra utbud på mat och dryck. Maten mycket god och vällagad, dessutom bra utbud på såser om man vill komplettera måltiden på något sätt. Väl värt ett besök

If you are nachos lover like me then this is the place. The nachos are not only a huge portion but beautifully flavoured and presented. The pork tacos are delicious but the vegetarian ones aren't great, I found they lacked flavour - they could been really creative but was just veg in a taco shell. The restaurant is small and the staff are friendly. I would retuen just for nachos and a cocktail.

Very good Mexican cuisine - good guacamole, melted cheese and tacos. Also a giant jug of tasty Margarita. Staff is friendly as well and the interior is small but cosy. They do not, however, serve coffee, their website is not updated and there was no soap in the toilet.

Disappointed. We read the reviews and we were looking forward to it but very disappointed. I ordered the vegetation tacos , served virtually cold, just mushrooms on a cold soggy taco, not even seasoning. Enchiladas were ok but because only we were so hungry. Mezcal mango cocktail was nice. Spicy margarita was spicy lime water with too much ice The proportions just weren't right.

Fue una buena experiencia, comimos tres. Y tanto por servicio como por comida, me pareció que estaba bien, aunque solo si tienes bien lleno el bolsillo 😅

It's a nice Mexican restaurant for Dutch standards (flavours, although adjusted for the Dutch pallette where authentic). The food was good and the atmosphere was very nice, helpful staff as well.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.

Small restaurant, so worth booking ahead. The food is really tasty, and the menu is limited to a few key dishes. The margaritas are also worth a try! Had a really nice cozy dinner here. The queaso with chorizo was simply to die for! Would come back just for that alone 😉

Some of the best nachos I’ve had! Service is fast and friendly, place is buzzing, food is good and drinks are cold. Definitely a place to spend the evening before exploring the city further. The food leans towards the more authentic side, but with a more fancy “street food” feel, adapted to the European pallet. Quite good!

As the other review mentioned, menu has changed. The Pacifico seemed off and the draft Stella. The guac was ok, filled the empty spot.

Very delicious and spicy tacos with untypical shape. Service is a bit slow due to the crowded place but was very friendly. Totally recommended.
