Incredible! The best hidden gem in Amsterdam! Me and my man are so happy we found this place and have never tasted anything like it! Their tacos and agua de jamaica are simply the best! We would come back to Amsterdam just for this restaurant.

I am still thinking about those tacos and it's been almost 3 months since I had them. You know that feeling, when a restaurant completely sets the standard anew on what a certain type of food can be? Well, you can find it here. I would come back to Amsterdam just for these tacos. I am not playing.

Overpriced, 10 euros for 2 tiny tacos. Otherwise good service and tasty. Unfortunately stopped eating earlier because we quickly went over 50 euros with 2 people and were not yet full

The food was ok (ordered tacos and one came already slightly broken), churros were good, but the staff…… first it took him 5-7 mins to give us menu all while he sat us near the station with the menus and walked past it (and us) a few times. When asked to split the bill, he rolled his eyes and in the end he didn’t even split it, just made us do two separate payments for one bill. The attitude! Wow! When asked to do a basic task! So sorry to have asked…

Margarita was ok. Food was not.

We went without a reservation...thank goodness we didn't have any problems. The menu is Mexican tapas, enough to taste and savor the flavors of Mexico. The tortilla is made of corn and is the base of the tacos. The friendly staff and the atmosphere transport you to Mexico. I loved it 💕

Had a booking at 21:30, called at 20:30 to confirm it was not too late, was refused at 21:30 when we arrived. Complete non sense, check your booking system

Top food, the chorizo quesadilla was authentic and the tacos were good (the flavour was great although there were only two tacos per ration)the margarita pitcher was a little bit overpriced.

Food was 'OK' but nothing I would go back for. Service was really slow and we had to keep reminding them for several items. The kids dish only turned up when we said enough and asked for the bill.

It’s a great place to eat a Mexican plate. waiters are kind and the place is cool. Still take care because it’s expensive and the plates are not really big, if you’re a serious eater it can be difficult to be full. Also dishes (especially tacos) are really spicy (as you can except from a Mexican dish)

Bizarrely bad service. Don't order cappuccino. “We don't have any milk.” “No tub?” you try. “I told you we don't have any milk.” You're almost turned away in this tent.

Food was sooo good! We ordered two lunch specials and lamb tacos, all very good! The staff were also very friendly!

We loved all the tacos we had, beef, pork belly and chicken (the chicken was my fav and the beef was my sister’s fav). The chorizo quesedilla was also on point smoky and well balanced. We were a little disappointed with the croquettes but that might be cause the rest was just so good!

It can be tough to find good quality Mexican in Amsterdam, but these tacos did not disappoint. They were well spiced & seasoned, and the hot sauce had a good kick to it. Portions are traditional corn tortillas, so would be smaller than some copy-cat Mexican places.

Bart was so incredibly helpful, funny and gave us some great recommendations for our stay in Amsterdam. Please open a colima in London we are desperately in need of a DECENT Mexican 🙏

Had a delicious meal last night; Choosing chef's menu was a really good choice. Nice range of different dishes and I thought the tacos de carne asada were delicious. It is also good to mention that the tortilla (corn flour) comes directly from farmers in southern Mexico! And the cocktail (a la pina colada) that was devised on the spot made this Mexican dining experience complete for me🤩 A good guest experience👌and I will definitely come back!

I have always been reluctant about Mexican cuisine but I really enjoyed tasting all the dishes we ordered. It's really delicious but very expensive and the portions are small. To do in a group but for two it’s too expensive

Food is delicious, and small plates are easy to share. Meat and fish dishes are especially good (there are vegetarian options, but fewer). The Mezcalita cocktail was delicious, slightly spicey, a fun & gentle buzz -- exceptional! Wait staff is super helpful and friendly. Lovely birthday celebration!

Service: great! A truly enthusiastic catering tiger. Chef's menu: poorer price/quality ratio. Really expensive. Tasty, small/few, 2 fried dishes and doubt fresh or ready-made. Scallops and beef stew very tasty.

We ordered the Chef's menu for 3, plus San Miguel beers and Agua de Jamaica (non alcoholic beverage really recommended). The 2 disadvantages I found were: they do not serve tap water and you need to pay 15 per person for a reservation. I both find them outrageous as 15 EUR is too much to pay in advance and loose it if you have an issue and tap water should be (if it's not already) always be a gesture of generosity in a restaurant, because anyway people always order either wines/mezcal/beers or other beverages apart from water.

Super nice restaurant. Kind of Mexican tapas. Very nice girl who served. Lots of sound stimuli. Not an ordinary Mexican with plates of rice and beans. Much more refined and yes also more expensive.

Fantastic little find - incredibly tasty Mexican dishes to share, great margaritas and even Pacifico on the specials menu. We were made to feel super welcome from the moment we walked in. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Small portions considering the price. The place looked dark and uncomfortable. Food was not exceptional, for sure not freshly made. Not the atmosphere one expects from an authentic Mexican resto.

Back for the 3rd time and this time it was straight after my now fiancé popped the question!!!!! We were deliriously happy and not paying any attention to the menu or anyone else for ages and we were left to it which we appreciated. When we did finally order, we told the waiter (who also happened to be the owner) it was a very special occasion and he couldn't have been more excited and joined us both to a complimentary shot of mezcal! Lovely atmosphere, lovely food, amazing cocktails YUM!!! and a very special place forever! Thanks Colima!

The service and the place are not bad but the food is very poor. High prices for the food they serve.

I definitely don't recommend this place, unless you want to pay the jackpot prize for 2 pathetic tacos. The beef taco was tasty, but with these prices certainly not worth repeating.

The place has a real Mexican vibes but the food is so mid. The size of tacos are too small and the it’s over priced comparing to the size and quality.

Disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes very tasty, but the portion sizes are minimal. For €14.5 you get 2 tacos a little smaller than the palm of your hand. Getting full for less than 50 euros is difficult here. After paying huge amounts of money for a ridiculous 2 tacos per person, we went straight to the next restaurant to actually eat something.

I recently had a bite to eat here with a friend. The food was fine, but the price was really not normal. On the menu there is an option for a dish to share, but they do not state that you have to pay this amount PER PERSON. It concerns a dish for €38.50, after which you are still really hungry. I have never paid so much money for food that I probably could have put on the table myself faster and the quality of which would not have made much difference. In addition, the service was not good, it was not busy but we had to wait a very long time every time we wanted to ask something. All in all, highly recommended if you like paying a lot of money and then want to quickly pull something out of the wall. Don't do otherwise

On the 12th of September me & my friend had dinner at Colima. The food tasted nice and the music fitted the restaurant really well. Those are the only positive words that I have about our dinner at Colima. We ordered a Chef's Special menu which if I remember correctly was supposed to be around 40 euros. We thought that was for 2 people (it seemed to us like the menu implied this). We waited and waited for our food it took the kitchen very long to make our dishes. Following each other up we received 5 or 6 dishes all of them really really small (between dishes there was also quite some time we had to wait). As I wrote before the dished tasted fine, but the amount of time we had to wait for the amount of food that we got was definitely not worth it. The service was slow. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seats, so that's probably why there was only one waitress. It seemed like she didn't have a lot experience which is ok, but the GM should be educating his staff. In the end we had to pay the 40 euro's twice (per person). Eventually we paid more than 80 euro's (for twice the Chef's Special, an Ice-T & and one small bottle of still water). We left the restaurant with quite some hunger and decided to go and get some food somewhere else. So I ate a portion of fries, a burger & an ice cream after I already had 'dinner' at Colima. Hopefully the owner or the GM will take it upon themselves to improve the place instead of releasing their anger upon the staff. I will never go to Colima again.

Came here based on a recommendation from TT which was a big mistake. The menu has very limited options. The food was basically flavorless especially the nachos. Worst beef tacos I’ve ever had. The chicken tacos were the only edible thing but were definitely not the best. Service was good but unfortunately terrible quality Mexican food.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam. Defined flavors, a fun twist and very well managed. Honestly, all the reviews we see are from people who should consider their level of demand or, directly, choose a cheaper option adapted to their pockets.

We came in tempted by the Monday steak special deal and it didn't disappoint. I'm generally not a fan of Mexican food outside of Mexico so I had low expectations. However, I'm now very pleased we found this restaurant and will certainly be back!

Excellent quality food. Everything was so tasty and tasted really authentic especially the totopos, mushroom quesadilla and prawn tacos - only thing I wouldn’t recommend are the scallops as the sauce wasn’t suited to the scallops. A bit on the pricier side too.

A friend recommended us Colima and I’m so happy that we went! What an amazing gastronomic experience. Food is unique and superb (I recommend the scallops, the tosta de alcachofa, tosta de atún, the tacos (cordero!). Everything is delicious and well thought of. The service is impecable, the waiters are so charming and kind. And the tequila and mezcal menus! Check them out!. Very recommendable.

We had THE MOST delicious Mexican food here. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The food was fresh, great choice of flavours and textures, prices are moderate. The only point of criticism I have is the dishes' portion size which is rather small. That is why I will rate 4 instead of 5 stars. We were lucky to grab a table for two without reservation but better make sure to book your table in advance. 👌🏼 Top tip for ordering: Chefs Favorite!

Do not come here! Overpriced mediocre food. During my trip in Amsterdam I came here hoping to find high quality Mexican food, however I was left disappointed. It shocks me that this restaurant has such a good reputation.

I went to Colima recently, and honestly, the food was very bad, the only nice part about it was margarita. It lacked flavor and was really plain, wouldn’t comment on nachos you can see on the pic. On top of that, the service was really slow, and the staff didn't seem to care much, kept forgetting about the orders. I wouldn't suggest going there if you're looking for good Mexican restaurant.

Amazing food, great ambiance, good music and fantastic service! Each bite was a surprise to my palette bcs it was so delicious every time✨attention to detail on distinct flavours was what makes this place stand out from any other Mexican restaurant in the city 🔝 they serve small portions so beware this is not a taco buffet! Cocktails also delish and a must 😉 def a must go and def coming again !

What an amazing find, this restaurant is so nice, the food is fantastic, the staff are lovely, friendly and speedy and the atmosphere is such good fun. We were a party of five and had twelve plates, nothing disappointed us, it was all gorgeous and the cocktails were great. Our waitress was very accommodating and the food came out fast and fresh. Make sure you booked, we did and we sat down at 7.30 and so many people had to be turned away. We were not rushed and we were not given a timeframe for the table. Thanks for a great meal.

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience yesterday. Indicated that I have a fatal nut allergy. When making a reservation, ordering dishes and also when the dish arrived. Also because I am very pregnant and wanted to be sure that no mistake was accidentally made. They adjusted the dish for me, then started eating and after one bite the tingling in my mouth started. I pick out the dish and there are walnuts at the bottom. Ended up spending the entire evening in the hospital... This could have really gone wrong... As compensation we didn't have to pay more than the deposit, which was almost equal to the receipt. I find this really ridiculous for what happened. I sincerely hope they will make this right

Unfortunately, I did not have a pleasant experience when I went about a month ago. Very loud place, strange kind of music on, slow service. Chef’s menu not very well thought out or executed. Nachos tasted old, one of the spicy sauces was the spicest thing I have ever tasted and was gradually burning me from the inside throughout the evening. I would appreciate a warning - ate about a pin drop. Tacos very dissapointing, tasteless, plain. Left with stomach pain and not to be repeated.

Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed with our dinner. The service wasn't very attentive. Special food requests were not taken into account - food came to the table incorrectly and went back to the kitchen. Re-ordering drinks is not possible. Service staff just walked past the table and took no notice of us. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right here... maybe we had a bad day! 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a mexican foodie I can tell you that this is not authentic Mexican food. They use some mexican ingredients and that's it. The food is ok but I won't give them the Mexican food category. Service is slow and gets even slower as more people arrive. Ask the hibiscus and the strawberry margaritas with mezcal, that is much better (but you will have to wait some time for them) We had to cancel my last margarita because more than 20 min had passed and it was not coming.

Unfortunately the food is nowhere near Mexican cuisine. The portion sizes felt almost like a joke, especially the quesadilla. Prices are ridiculously high for the amount of food you get. The only thing on the menu that was nice - dessert and some of the cocktails. But I must say, that the service was fine though.
