Small portions, you need at least 2 portions per person (although each portion has 3 mini tacos). And prices are on the expensive side. BUT the taste is amazing. Their margarita pitcher is also an absolute must.

I wouldn’t call it amazing, but it wasn’t bad either. The portions are noticeably smaller than classic taco servings, so it’s good to go knowing that, we even had nachos beforehand and still left a bit hungry. The nachos were decent, the service was warm, and vegetarian and vegan options are available. Overall, it’s an okay Mexican spot, but it didn’t quite leave us with a strong “wow” effect or a clear desire to return.

Pretty good tacos for Europe standards. Service has always been excellent, and what i like the most is the mezcal selection.

Today I went to eat and the only Mexican thing was Frida Kahlo painted on the wall. 80-something euros. For things already prepared beforehand. And the salsas are extra! So, nachos with the usual toppings have to be paid for separately, but guacamole, pico de gallo (I didn't even see any) and beans are also extra. Luckily, I asked what the chicken in the tacos was like... and I didn't order them. My friend ordered chicken tacos and it was the same shredded chicken from the Dirk supermarket... on a tray without a plate... how awful. To present our food in such a ridiculous way, sorry, but it's the truth.

The BEST 15/10 tacos I have EVER HAD - surpassing USA, Spain and Mexico etc… Corina was a fabulous host and I’m so thankful we stumbled upon this spot randomly walking the red light district! The Carne Asada was 🔥 and the mezcal flight 🥂 tasting was special. Definitely go if you’re in town!

This place is a genuine health hazard. The kitchen is absolutely filthy, with grime everywhere you look. I witnessed rotten food being handled and reused, and the grill was covered in a thick, black layer of burnt grease that clearly hadn't been cleaned in months. The conditions are so unsanitary that it's inevitable someone will get seriously sick. It is only a matter of time. If you are an elderly person, a child, or simply value your health, stay away from this place. What occurs inside is a clear and immediate public health risk. This is not merely a bad choice—it is an active danger.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat, but ended up staying almost the entire evening. We kept ordering something different, and each time we were pleasantly surprised. In short, a delicious meal and a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

I ordered three tacos: cheddar cheese and nachos. The nachos were soggy, the cheese thick, and cold, and the tacos arrived immediately. I was missing one taco, the box was open, and the tacos were small and soggy. I paid €50 for this. Honestly... I've never experienced anything like this... realize I paid €50 for this. (See photos)

Very expensive for a few tacos, and they were carelessly served on a tin plate. We went home hungry. The cocktails were okay, but nothing more.

The best place to eat real Mexican food. Superb staff, cook and owner. Great mock and cocktails, mole, tacos and musica. Enjoy the relaxed vibe.

Great tacos but weird unfriendly service. Asked for tap water for the table and she gave me such a nasty shocked look as if I asked for her to tap dance for me. And when we asked where the bathroom was she looked at us like we were insane (it’s a hidden door with graffiti all over it that blends into the wall). Also it was empty - this place is going downhill. Again tacos good though

I’ve visited this restaurant twice, and both times the experience was let down by the front-of-house service. The woman who seems to manage the floor is unfortunately an inattentive host. At 20:00 right in the middle of the dinner rush. She was sitting and eating with customers while the place was full of dirty tables, unserved guests, and general disorganization. It took about 15 minutes just to order drinks. She returned 20 minutes later to ask which margarita we wanted, then proceeds to bring the wrong one anyway. The kitchen staff appeared to take over to ensure the food actually arrived. To top it off, my boyfriend had to go up to the counter to pay because she was still sitting with friends instead of attending to her duties. The food is good, but the chaotic service and lack of professionalism make it not worth the hassle.

We just had some amazing tacos at Mr. Haz on Egelantierstraat in Amsterdam. It's a bit hidden in this enormous city, but definitely worth seeking out! Fish, vegetarian, meat, and vegan tacos are available, so everyone can find something delicious here. If you prefer gluten-free food, there's also an option to order gluten-free tacos. And not only were the tacos delicious, and we tried quite a few ;), but the patatas bravas and guacamole were also excellent choices. Finishing off the party with a delicious dessert made the evening perfect. Plus, the great atmosphere, nice music, and friendly service ensure that we'll definitely be visiting this lovely restaurant again when we're back in Amsterdam!

We arrived pretty early in the evening. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant and it still took us 30 minutes to get tacos. The food was not warm, parts were even cold. Lovely cocktails and service. Was excited to try this place, but I won’t come back for cold tacos

Absolutely divine tacos! Especially the shrimp ones. We came across this place by chance and didn't know what to expect, but we will definitely be back. The food was very good, perfectly seasoned, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. In addition to the food, there was a nice playlist playing. We definitely recommend it 🔥

Good MARGS! Food was below average and wasn’t cheap. Ordered birria tacos and it was absolutely nothing like a birria. Their nachos had practically no toppings and the “fake” type of cheese which wasn’t pleasant. Go for the margs tho

Cute but confusing. The interior is very hip with a graffiti themed approach. Yet none of the graffiti is Latin American inspired as you would expect at a taco bar. The food was solid as were the cocktails, no complaining there but something about the place just felt disconnected. The various themes that did not match, the tables and flooring which was very plain and out of step with the murals and the lack of music, Latin American or otherwise. This means that while it’s a great place to drop in once, it did not have that come-back-on-the-regular vibes that a taco place needs to survive.

What a surprise! Being a self proclaimed street taco aficionado, I can for sure highly recommend Mr. Haz Taco Bar! While it may not be the typical flavor of your neighborhood truck or taqueria, it does superbly well as a gourmet taco restaurant. Everything from the tortillas down to the spicy salsa (medium heat) is made in-house and very tasty. Even the gluten free corn tortillas are made by hand and have great flavor and texture. If you're craving tacos be sure and give Mr. Haz a try.

Recently went to dinner with a group. Indicated that I would like to change my order from Vegan to Chicken, unfortunately the Chicken was out of stock, which I thought was very strange because we were the first group of the evening. I then changed it to Lamb, but we were served Beef. I raised this with the lady behind the bar, I received the comment: "This is the last time you change it". I was like “Excuse me” I changed it once, then “You guys” make a mistake by bringing a different type of meat. You absolutely cannot make such a comment. The food was super tasty, but because of our somewhat bad experience I don't want to be reminded of this anymore. This was my first and last visit.

Everything was good here, music was spot on and service was quick.

Service was way too slow, one lady to serve and make drinks for 20 people. Margaritas was ok but if I had to guess it was around 70ml with ice… don’t put ice please in margaritas 😂 Means you get a drink you finish it in 3 sips and then you look around for 30 minutes to find someone to serve you. Needs more people.

I HATE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS. I want Mexican restaraunts to win in Europe. From the outside, this place really sells the dream- warm lighting, decent ambiance, the promise of good Mexican food. But step inside, take a bite, and the dream dies instantly. My girlfriend (who’s vegan) got the driest, most uninspired vegan food we’ve ever encountered. The fake chicken tasted like it came straight from a budget supermarket, tossed on a plate with zero marinade, seasoning, or effort. Meanwhile, my fish dish had all the flavor complexity of straight mayo-no hint of Baja sauce, just a sad, creamy mess. And the pork? Just… there. Not good, not awful, just a complete afterthought. On second thought, it was awful. By the end of the meal, paying the bill felt like a personal defeat. If you enjoy being bamboozled by a good-looking restaurant only to be served overpriced mediocrity, this is your spot. Otherwise, save yourself the disappointment and eat literally anywhere else.

Nachos and tacos were pretty average for their price. Guacamole is basically barely smashed avocado for you. And the mexican lemonade was basically water with aroma.

We were excited to try their tacos but were really disappointed. We chose the vegan chicken option and it came super dry with no sauce. It lacked flavor, soul, and freshness. I thought that maybe it’s because we ordered vegan tacos but our friend order a meat taco and said that it tasted not fresh and chemically. On top of that we shared the “cheese” nachos but the cheese tasted more like powdered cheese that was mixed and microwaved. Drinks were ok. I hope this place will reflect on the food and try to change something cause it ain’t tasting good.

What an amazing place. Dogs are welcome, which is very nice There are different choices for both vegans and non-vegans. The music is always in the background and fortunately not dominant. The cocktails are delicious. The mescal Margarita is highly recommended. If you prefer something sweeter, choose the fresa Mexicana

You have to wait a long time for a little bit of food. The fact that the tacos are small is nice if you can quickly order a few extra tacos, but if you finally have something after an hour, you forget about ordering something more and having to wait further. It wasn't busy when we were there.

Nice interior and vibes but terribly slow and inattentive service and very disappointing food. The birria and chicken tacos aren't seasoned properly, the margaritas are way too light, the tacos themselves are cold and the guacamole tastes bland. I liked the red bean (veggie) tacos the best, they were seasoned very nicely.

Friendly service but time seems to stand still, literally. We had to wait an hour for some crappy tacos and some things were already sold out and they should have asked us what we wanted instead. And that in a half empty restaurant!

We went there because it was my birthday and wanted to eat Mexican. Unfortunately, the tacos were incredibly bland and you can't justify it with a concept. Raw onions, unripe avocados and just cooked shrimp and a sad sauce for way too much money. Drinks were sad too. Sorry - but my disappointment was so great that I had to write it here.

Nachos could really use some barbacoa, melted cheese or other ingredients, since they’re quite plain like this and for this pricepoint. However the tacos are amazing (perfectly filled, good combinations and freshly made tortillas) and we definitely think they’re worth coming back for. The sides could use some more love. What tasty and well-filled tacos! Everything was delicious, including the (virgin) cocktails and the nachos beforehand. Nice relaxed atmosphere with the same service. Prices are on the high side, but that makes sense when you see what you get and which products are chosen. We will definitely come again, thank you!

Impossible to just pay for your order, we are a table of 10 so one person has to pay €400. In addition, they do not accept €50 and €100 notes.

Don't go here. The high reviews seem fake. The service took an hour to serve us two tiny (about 4 inch diameter), cold tacos, that tasted quite average and dry, and cost 20 euros. It was shockingly disappointing. And a glass of sparkling water was billed at 7 euros.

Worst tacos ever! I cant understand how it currently has an average review of 4.2! The prices are bizarre for 2 and 3 tacos and they promote taco Tuesday of “two tacos and 1 cocktail” for 20 euros which is no deal lol like any other day! Avoid

Super chilled, relaxed vibes. The tacos were amazing.

I’m left with a very bad impression after a visit to Mr. Haz. The service was nothing to brag about. We waited and waited for the food, and when it finally arrived, half of us got cold tacos. The rest were told that they couldn’t make what we had ordered, so we had to wait even longer. The food came in stages, and we couldn’t eat at the same time. The server with long hair didn’t use a hair tie, and the chef wore a hood that only covered half of their hair.

Place has a nice vibe and atmosphere, but the tacos were bland and the hot sauce provided added nothing but heat, no flavor. We sat for 30 minutes with empty plates and glasses trying to make eye contact to get the check.

Some reasons for my 2 stars: I personally think 13 euros for 2 tacos is a lot if you get 2 small tacos, with honestly quite basic toppings. Its just very basic food for a very high price. The main thing thats a bit peculiar in my opinion is you get a nice serving of potatoes but you get a teeny tiny serving of some condiment with it and when you ask for another serving you pay 3 euros for it, this wouldve been okay if it was a very nice sauce but the taste of yogurt was too overwhelming. Atmosphere was really nice though and the place looks really cute.

we came here because we saw a review that was like "spring tacos were so good that i had to pause while eating to write a review" and so of course we tried those, they were indeed delicious, but i'm writing this to stake my claim that the frijoles negros are the superior vegetarian tacos at this place !!!! we had to wait a little while to get our food but no regrets at all – super friendly service, lovely cosy atmosphere and above all, a hearty, scrumptious meal ❤️

Close to home and with leg in plaster good idea for a small date with my wife. Nice place upon entering, some chairs are quite epic. Nice touch to have used spray cans in window for graffiti inspired art work on walls, not cohesive with rest of interior maybe by choice. Cocktails are quite saur maus based and pours small masqueraded with overload of ice. Still okay. The bravas were epic! Really want this recipe! The cod based tacos were good up. Then we should have left... The dessert was drama... Tortilla with burned Nutella... Mentioned to nice waiter to please remove or improve. Overall nice date. Thank you.

very bad! after travelling around the world I have tried some ceviches because I like them a lot, this special ceviche for 17€ with pico de gallo and lime/tequila has been the worst I have had in the last 15 years. the supposed tiger milk with tequila did not have lime but vinegar, very vinegary without tequila, the pico de gallo was poorly cut tomato with vinegary shallots. the nachos without sauce or trace of the supposed oven-roasted tomatoes… I recommend spending the money on a sandwich Frikandel before going there. Score: 2

This cozy restaurant was recommended to us by locals and what do I say, it did not disappoint. Super tasty food, freshly made and authentic. Paired with great cocktails for moderate prices. Totally recommend visiting this hidden gem.

Absolutely disappointing. We had 5 different types of tacos and nachos with guacamole. Unfortunately the tacos were really not good to bad. A taco filling was strangely sour, so neither we nor the children wanted to finish it. The nachos were straight out of the bag and came with a somewhat strange guacamole. Somehow nothing fits together here, at least as a restaurant.

The food here is fantastic! We were very happy with both the vegan, fish and meat tacos. One of the servers were a bit rude but the atmosphere makes up for it.

The truth is that the place is very well decorated, and the music is top. It's a shame that it is so poorly located and they have such high prices for what they offer. They have a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, but three tacos for €19 seems outrageous to me. Yes, they were good and you eat well, but I don't think they're worth that. When we went we were alone and the girl (she was alone in the place + the cook) almost didn't even come to serve us, we didn't want to order dessert or extra drinks because it really seemed like she didn't want us to be there.

Jerk chicken tacos... best tacos ive ever had..and ive been to mexico. Portion was small for the money (3 small tacos for 19€) but I had two plates just because they were that good.

Yucatan pull pork was disappointing. Served on a worn stainless steel plate, 2 small tacos came with a kind of goulash, some of which were very mixed. Far from pull pork. No enjoyment!

Very nice and youthful atmosphere. The tacos are good but I would avoid the starters, they are not very tasty. The drinks aren't bad, but it depends on which one you choose. The margarita was good, the gin and tonic not so much. The waiters are very kind and helpful, perhaps the only flaw is the service is a little slow. Basically I recommend the place for those who want to have an informal experience, are not in a hurry and have too many expectations.

Quite a nice place in a quiet Jordaan street. The glass of red wine they seved had been in an open bottle for some time and tasted like vinegar. They agreed and offered a margarita instead, whichever makes sense in a taco joint. The nachos with guacamole and fish tacos were decent .

The atmosphere was super cozy and fun!! Really great service, with great food and really tasty cocktails. Highly recommended!! Also nice artistic decor, we will definitely come here more often.

Overall I think the food here is delicious, my favourite is the carnitas and the steak - also the homemade tortillas are fantastic. I agree the Nachos could use more cheese sauce but that’s because it’s really good and would be amazing if there was a lot more on there. We were slightly disappointed in the Margarita jug, when it came out it was not more than one and a quarter glass each (we did not complain so this is on us, just a heads up, would be better to serve a bigger jug for that price). Having said that the cocktails are good! Service was very friendly and atmosphere fun as always!!

Making a margarita is not that complicated, so there is no excuse for having a bad one at a Mexican restaurant. I won’t comment on the food because it wasn’t Mexican.
