I went here to pick up some takeaway. The food was pretty decent overall — tasty enough, but a bit overpriced for what you get. In terms of value for money, it could definitely be better. The place itself is not bad, but I found it difficult to communicate with the staff behind the counter. They seemed distant and not very engaging, which affected the overall experience. In short, the food is above average, but the pricing and customer interaction could really use improvement.

People, be careful with this place; they'll overcharge your food and drinks. Always ask for the price!

Really bad Chinese food for me. The portion is big, but the taste is really bad. The fried rice had this weird flavor I had to buy a cup of coffee to wash away the aftertaste.

I had a great overall experience. I've ate 2 times in this restaurant. The portion they give you are great for the prices they charge. In my recent visit I ordered a duck with noodles. I love eating extra spicy. I like that they serve everyone a bowl with hot pepper as an extra option. The spice also tasted good. They seasoned peppers perfectly without losing it's authentic taste. What I love about Chinese restaurants is they are not here to scam you and in general give you worthy portions. Something Europeans and South Americans can learn from Asians.

Authentic Chinese-Antilles food. We bought a portion of chicken cutlet plain and 2 chicken satay plain for €24, a bit expensive imo. But nonetheless would try other dishes next time.

“Masarap!”, the lady behind the counter said, egging me and my girlfriend on to choose the meat and veggies that we would like to garnish our then unfilled plates. A little surprised that she got our native tongue right, we nodded and began choosing 3 types of viand + a carbohydrate (e.g. rice or noodle) that we each wanted on our dishes. We then proceeded to a table in the restaurant and waited for the kind lady to serve us, in the restaurant’s terminology, our respective “buffet” plates. After helping myself to a mouthful of rice and chicken, I have to say that the lady was right on cue: their food was certainly delicious! Lucky King en Hong might be tucked away in the deep recesses of the Amsterdam Bijlmer area but it is definitely a hidden gem. Their grub, especially their “buffet” options where you can pick and choose what you want to have, are priced well and will leave you wanting for more; I kid you not, each bite pops with flavor that lingers on your palate! Although the restaurant’s food impresses, its ambiance falls a little flat. Don’t get me wrong, the restaurant is clean and all but it does not have an atmosphere that you will remember it for. Regardless, I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants well-priced, delicious grub in the Amsterdam area!

Food is good but asking €0.80 for a small amount of sambal is a disgrace so never again

Moksi with duck taken away where you pay extra for the rice which is not included. You would think it was a bit pricey, but considering I was able to eat from the container 3 times, it was still manageable. The sauce for the duck was very poor. Meat was also very coarsely chopped which was not nice to eat this way.

Unfortunately I have to say that the food was not enjoyable. For the amount of €68.90 I paid for satay ku batata (€19.95), nasi with satay (€11.50), small Babi bacon mihoen (€13.00) and hot spare ribs (€18.50), you expect quality. Moreover, all dishes were served in plastic containers, which also cost €2.50. If you charge such high prices, you can expect a top meal, right? The spareribs were not even hot, hard and without taste. The satay ku batata lacked the necessary salt and had no taste at all. The nasi had an aftertaste so I threw the whole container in the trash. The only thing edible was the bacon. I will never come back here again! I wonder how there are so many positive reviews about this restaurant. I have come a long way and this was my experience!! Perhaps there was once another chef who could cook well. Sorry, but you guys don't deserve a star - the food was really bad.

Cool for takeaway lunch or dinner

Toen we binnenkwamen, was het niet duidelijk of je van tevoren moest betalen of gewoon kon gaan zitten. Na 5 minuten werd ons gemeld dat we konden plaatsnemen. Vervolgens zaten we en wachtten we 20 minuten zonder dat er een serveerster langskwam. Toen ik vroeg hoe het zat, werd aangegeven dat er iemand zou komen om de bestelling op te nemen. Op de menukaart stond een bladzijde met verschillende soorten Antilliaans eten. Ik koos een Antilliaans gerecht, maar na 5 minuten werd mij verteld dat het op was. Vervolgens koos ik een ander Antilliaans gerecht, maar na weer 5 minuten bleek dat de hele Antilliaanse keuken niet beschikbaar was. Het eten dat we uiteindelijk kregen, was droog en gemiddeld van smaak. Toen de serveerster, die aangaf dat ze nieuw was, ons een bakje voor een doggybag wilde geven, zei de leidinggevende man dat ze daar 50 cent extra voor moest vragen. Bij het afrekenen ontdekten we pas thuis dat er 4 drankjes waren afgerekend in plaats van 2.

Really more than good food for the money. One of the simple gems that Amsterdam still has if you want to eat for a few euros. Don't expect luxury, but you can eat there in the bright light

Yesterday me and my partner decided to eat there since we live in the area and didn’t taste their food yet. One of servers told us that alcohol was not available in their restaurant after asking for a beer. Minutes later the table next to us got beer. Plates arrived after each other. When food arrive it was a big disappointment, no taste, not fresh at all, hard meat…I gave 5 stars for the service because other server which name is Charo saw the situation and tried to give explanations and offer us a drink for the house, really attentive, polite and professional. Thank you Charo. We love Asian food and often we try different places. This place is very poor in quality.

Lucky King: despite the name, don't expect a royal welcome or miracles here, because there is a buffet behind the counter. Usually a 'red flag' for me, but I'll take my chance... So nothing is prepared on site. But I see that the turnover rate here is high, and therefore does not detract from freedom. For €11.20 I order more than reasonable noodles in their restaurant. Eat on site or take away. I choose the last option. King & Hong uses a proven concept: you choose rice, noodles or noodles, together with your choice of 3 types of meat or shrimp. My choice? Bami with For Nam, Char Sui and shrimp. About the noodles: they are better filled than an average Chinese takeaway: tasty and with sufficient bean sprouts, leek, egg (cut up omelette) and meat. But still: buffet or not: the 'For Nam' was actually still crispy, nothing wrong with that. Shrimp were not tough, and although the Char Sui lagged a bit, still very decent. As mentioned, I took the meal with me and ate it outside. Actually, the rule for all takeaway meals is: eat them as quickly as possible. By the way: no charge was made for a fork, napkin and the plastic container itself. No, for the money and the generous portion that was provided, I have nothing to complain about. I therefore cannot agree with some of the negative reviews here. In summary: good price/quality ratio. But hey, that says nothing about a first visit. For now? I don't feel like King yet, but I do feel very Lucky, and I don't have to roll a dice for this!

Spare ribs were inedible. In the photo they looked like a lot, fatty ribs, tasty meat and nice and brown. But these were half raw and white and there was hardly any meat on them. I left it. Worthless! The chicken fried rice also had no taste, but luckily it looked like the photo! There was also a piece of shell in the omelette! The pork from the wantan soup was also undercooked and the soup was luke warm! Sandwiches are good there.

I ordered a large satay ku bata and when I got home it turned out to have a small pore and the meat did not taste fresh. I called the restaurant but there was no answer. We have been coming here for years, but I will not go back because even though we only ordered and picked up food around 7:30 PM, the food was no longer fresh, the meat tasted old, I think it's a shame no star from me.

Very good food for affordable prices. The moxi variants are especially delicious. I ordered duck/caumin and my colleague moxi pork/chicken. Really generous portions, we both couldn't finish it, and were given a box to take the rest home with us. The service is super friendly and not pushy at all. We will definitely come back many times. DEFINITELY THE BEST FOOD in the area, but they still have to improve their service. I had to wait a long time before any of their severs notice me, actually, I had to approach them, it wasn't even busy at all! I think this is why the other Chinese restaurants are still doing better, their service is better, really fast, very attentive to guests. Here, they are friendly and respectful but a bit slow. I've been here when they just opened, but the service hasn't improved.

Just picked up food vegetable chowmin, it was a vegetarian bami in which I still found pieces of chicken??? Do not eat fried cod sandwich; greasy and no taste. In addition, it was also expensive! 6 euros per sandwich. Never again in this tent!

The quality is insanely good. They receive ingredients several times a day because their turnover rate is so high. So everything is fresh all day long. And you can taste that. Time after time. My favorite Asian restaurant for a very friendly price. Highly recommended. And as of February 2024 they will have a new restaurant 100m from the old restaurant. They are now sitting outside in the former Rabobank building! Ten steps forward compared to the old building. The quality has become even better!

I went to this restaurant with a friend for lunch and the staff there is really friendly and the girl with the glasses was really helpful and recommended us some dishes which were out of this world and the portions are so massive that we couldn´t finish and had to ask the staff to pack the food for us. The experience i had was soo good that i revisited the restaurant today. 10/10 Recomended. If you visit Bejlmer Arena do not forget to visit this amazing asian restaurant.

Goed eten voor een betaalbare prijs. Prettige bediening door Antiliaanse Chinezen en Zuid Oost bewoners, dat wil dus zeggen lekker internationaal wat mij van Zuid Oost doet houden. Je zit er relaxed en wordt niet weg gekeken wanneer je klaar bent. Typisch Zuid Oost stijl, heerlijk! Tot ziens, ik kom hier zeker weer.
