Luhu in Centrum

Aangename verrassing in hartje Groningen. Zeer vriendelijke bediening door slechthorenden wat probleemloos verloopt. Je voelt dat ze waarderen dat je hier komt. Heerlijke koffie en ontbijtje. En die rust. Echt een aanrader. Weer eens wat anders.

Fijne plek, ik kom er geregeld, de ene keer met mijn dove vriend maar ook geregeld alleen voor een kop koffie of een lunch, er liggen kranten op tafel, en van de zomer werd er ruimte gemaakt voor mijn poëzieclub, toen onze vaste ruimte even niet beschikbaar was vanwege de vakantie. Personeel creëert een flexibele en ontspannen sfeer, ik voel me er altijd heel erg op mijn gemak

Nice small-scale location to have a drink, part of the clubhouse for the deaf. When placing your order at the bar, you have to use your hands and feet to convey your message. Payment is made exclusively with the debit card, on the debit card machine you can indicate what percentage tip you want to give to the bar staff. 0% tip is also an option. On the top floor there are rooms that you can rent for meetings, etc.

One of the best cafes in Groningen. For those who don't know it, this cafe is inside the house of an association for deaf people, so the staff are deaf. They are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very calm as no music is playing. The coffee and treats taste well and the prices are ok for Groningen. In summer you can sit outside in the patio as well.

Had a delicious Tosti de Luxe. One of the tastiest sandwiches you can get here in town. Large slices of very tasty fresh bread with cheese, salami, Italian herbs, grilled peppers, etc. Friendly service. There is also a nice garden behind. Great place for lunch. I will definitely come here more often.

Quiet place. Enjoyed a delicious Luhu sandwich. Excellent! Do not take this, it will delight your taste buds far too much! Cappuccino with a shot of caramel was also delicious. Just a bit small. I will definitely come back for a Luhu sandwich when I'm in Groningen again.

Wat een heerlijke plek. Pas na een paar bezoeken besefte ik 'ze draaien hier geen muziek' en hoewel ik een groot muziekliefhebber ben, vond ik dat een verademing. Wat een rust! Ook vergeleken met andere dagcafé's! Verder zijn de koffies dik in orde en dat geldt ook voor het gebak en de broodjes. Ik bestel regelmatig iets anders, want het is allemaal okay. Gebak of koek, broodje kroket, broodje Luhu, pancakes... enz. Dat het café gerund wordt door slechthorenden is voor niemand een probleem en geeft het een extra dimensie.

Very nice restaurant, had a very tasty chai latte and delicious quiche. Good portions for very reasonable prices, served by very friendly staff! And very educational to practice sign language. Definitely recommended!

Bij toeval hier beland. Een aantrekkelijke kaart, goed geprijsd en heerlijk gegeten. Hele goede espresso. Staf en veel klanten zijn doof. Het gevolg is dat het er heerlijk stil is en prikkelarm. Wat een verademing! Fijne stoelen en banken. Ruim opgezet, fijne tuinen aan de achterkant.

What’s lovely place 🩵 We had lunch yesterday and it was delicious. They have a great variety of vegetarian/vegan options which were all very tasteful. Both outdoor and indoor there are many nice places to sit and to enjoy your time. The place is run by very friendly people who have a hearing disability. This is going to be my new favorite place to hang out 🙏🏽

It is very nicely decorated. Also with various seating areas, something for everyone. I didn't eat here, so I can't judge that. The service is very friendly and even with very little knowledge of NGT or NMG you can get by very well. Also highly recommended for hearing people.

We had a wonderful time at Luhu! The Café has a really nice ambiance and the food was so yummy, especially the brownies. The servers are super friendly and even if you don’t know sign language, you can order and communicate with them no problem! There are also signs and books to teach you some sign language :)

Luhu is een verborgen parel in het centrum van Groningen met een heerlijk tuinterras. Je waant je door de stilte bijna ergens anders. Het eten en drinken is goed, wordt vers bereid en met een glimlach geserveerd. Alle medewerkers zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Very nice place. Obviously quiet and calm. Communication is going perfectly. Nice backyard to sit in. Good menu. Would have liked more information about/focus on organic products and I don't like the way tips are requested, but all in all very satisfied.

Such a lovely place. The cafe is so cosy, with lots of different spaces to hang out. Also the coffee and cake is amazing. The two girls in the service can't hear and speak which was an unique experience because it's so impressive that you can still run a cafe under these circumstances. Simply great!

Luhu is an amazing place! The cappuccino tastes good here and so does the herbal tea. You can buy home-made pastries here and also have lunch. You notice that this innovation was created with a lot of love and work, and the result is impressive!

Nice quiet atmosphere, delicious food and good service! The lunch board is highly recommended to taste the sandwiches and soup.

Special café with very nice hosts 👋 and delicious cappuccino. The pleasant silence slows you down and makes you aware of how restless and loud other cafés are. We enjoyed a very relaxing break here and would come again!

Wonderful quiet place to eat. The staff is really nice and the fact that they are deaf-mute helps with inclusion and perhaps learning some of the signs of this language. We will come again!

A cozy and quiet place to sit if you don't want too many stimuli around you. I really liked the Butterfly love tea. The staff was also very friendly and ordering was easy even if you can't speak sign language. Nevertheless, you can learn some sign language from the signs hanging throughout the building. Very nice and I would definitely recommend it.

First of all, a very nice place to be. Even though I'm not deaf and I can't speak sign language, I immediately felt welcome! The menu looked professional and neat, very nice on a wooden board. The atmosphere in the cafe was also nice, beautiful interior. We were also helped quickly. Everywhere you saw tools to learn sign language and use it immediately with the waitress who is deaf. Communication was very easy and even fun! I had a tasty burger with sweet potato fries and a chocolate milk. At first I thought the burger with fries was expensive, but it's worth the price and the chocolate exceeded my expectations; There were even marshmallows on top! Apparently the Quiche was also very tasty. Furthermore, there were clean toilets and the handling was also simple. In short, a very nice experience at Luhu's, highly recommended if you are interested in sign language or are hearing impaired/deaf yourself! Or if you are simply looking for a nice quiet place

Super lekker lunchplankje gehad met heerlijke wortel gember soep. Heel aardige bediening (weet nu ook wat het gebaar voor cappuccino is) en tof ingericht, ga zeker vaker terug komen!

Een cafe vol vriendelijkheid, gezelligheid door het personeel, en verbinding. Dit cafe heeft geen muziek opstaan, wat ik zelf als een verrijking ervaar. Geen muziek biedt ruimte voor echt luisteren naar elkaar (non-)verbaal als je in een gesprek verwikkeld raakt. Andere dingen vallen je op, wat je wellicht in een hedendaags cafe met harde muziek niet zal opmerken. Dit doen we te weinig vind ik. Daarnaast heeft het personeel geduld voor iemand zoals ik die (nog!) geen gebarentaal kent. Genoeg andere hulpmiddelen om te communiceren. En kijk dus goed om je heen, er zijn genoeg aanwijzingen te vinden voor deze communicatie ;)

Somedays I have pretty intense sensorial anxiety, with today being one such day. I didn't come to Luhu because of it, a friend of mine found it and we were gonna head there to study. It was a blessing. Not only was the stuff kind and accommodating, prepared to help me since I'm sadly not all that knowledgeable of sign language, but everyone inside was also very respectful. 10/10 experience, will definitely come back and bring friends who, like me, need some quiet

This place is amazing for people who need to get away from the sounds of daily life. Amazing for deaf or hard of hearing people. Also for people with sensory issues as it is a very calming environment with little to no sounds. This place is amazing to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and desserts. It’s is comfortable with lots of seating options and is also perfect for a quiet study environment. Or if you just need to get away from all the sounds. I’m hard of hearing and this place has been a life saver for me if I had an overstimulated week.. 10/10 recommend. There’s nothing wrong with this place they made it so perfect.

Leuk tentje met een rustige en fijne sfeer. Het personeel is enorm beleefd en heeft alle geduld! Wij hadden de wentelteefjes met verse jus d'orange en het eten en drinken was echt top! Zeker een aanrader voor een lekker ontbijtje zoals wij die hadden.

Prachtig pand, fijne sfeer. gelegenheid tot buiten zitten met tuin en terras binnen fijne zitjes en een grote leestafel Niet te grote menukaart dus alles even lekker en van goede kwaliteit Hartelijke en behulpzame staf, je voelt je welkom. Aanrader!!

Een plekje om even tot rust te komen. De menu kaart bevat allemaal weetjes en informatie die leuk zijn om te lezen. Ook is onze kennis over de taal verhoogt door de vriendelijke en attente bediening en het gebarenboek die wij doorgebladerd hebben tijdens ons bezoek.

Sehr schönes und angenehm ruhiges Café! Perfekt für Familien. Es gibt eine Spielecke und der Boden ist sauber genug zum Krabbeln.

Lekkerste thee, heerlijke lunch, goede prijs-kwaliteit; ook voor groepen, buurtvergaderingen. Fijn terras ook

De sfeer is erg gezellig, met vriendelijk personeel dat Nederlandse Gebarentaal (NGT) spreekt. Als jullie koffie willen bestellen, kunnen jullie dat gewoon in NGT doen. Het is een leuke ervaring, toch? Ik bestelde tosti luxe. Heerlijk gegeten.

Twee weken geleden hier per toeval terecht gekomen. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen én snel geholpen door jullie medewerker Gerrit. Bijzonder om zo toch prima samen te kunnen communiceren. Een plek waar wij zeker nog een keer terug gaan komen als we in Groningen zijn.

Heerlijke plek voor doven cultuur.

Een gezellig en knusse koffiebar met uitstekende lunch. Luhu bestond op de dag dat wij hen bezochten een halfjaar en heeft al een naam voor zich gemaakt. De lichte muren en vele ramen maken voor een gezellige huiselijke sfeer en met het lekkere eten en vriendelijke service voel je je dan ook direct thuis. We komen nog graag nog een keer en hopen dat Luhu nog lang mag bestaan.

Fijne plek om tot rust te komen met smaakvol en heerlijk eten. Personeel is lief, hartelijk en behulpzaam.

Wat een fijne plek! Geen radio aan, een verademing. Een plek om echt even uit te rusten. Gezellig ingericht, met zowel tafeltjes als fijne zithoekjes. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en hoewel ik geen gebarentaal kan, verliep de communicatie soepel. Met wat losse gebaren (die je kunt zien op het bewegende bord op de muur) en met dingen aanwijzen kwamen we overal zo uit. Het eten was prima. Ik had de vegan kroketten en die waren echt lekker. Een aanwinst voor Groningen!

Hele gemoedelijke sfeer en ontzettend leuk ingericht. Vriendelijk personeel en en heel relaxed.
