A one-hour wait for our food was far too long. There were no utensils on the table, so we had to ask for some, and no carafe of water either. The meal was overpriced and mediocre. Very disappointed!

A very nice place in the center of Amsterdam. We took advantage of a 50% off The Fork promotion to dine here, which also offered traditional dishes. When we arrived, a young man took care of everything, from welcoming us to taking orders and even cooking. We ordered stamppot, bitterballen, a steak with sides, beer, and water for a total of €30 for two with the discount. Excellent food, fast service, considering it's run exclusively by one young man. Highly recommended!

Extremely unfriendly owner with mediocre food. He tried to force drinks on us, claiming he wouldn't earn enough otherwise. I would advise everyone against going there. Anyone who behaves like that for an extra €2 profit margin should, in my opinion, close down and find help.

The owner is super friendly and outgoing. The good vibe makes the food taste even better. I ordered a lasagna, which was delicious, and my friend ordered the mussels, which simply melted in your mouth. This place is definitely recommended if you want to dine in a cozy atmosphere. Johan is a great host and also the owner of this restaurant. I can't rave enough about my experience tonight; it really felt like I was dining with family. We will definitely be back and look forward to dining with Johan again!

We were there in September. At first glance, the restaurant doesn't look bad at all, but the food is far too expensive for what you get. We had the bitterballen as an appetizer, which were then served to us from the microwave. After that, we had spaghetti carbonara for the main course, where the pasta was overcooked and everything tasted very bland. We also had the cannelloni, which was also overcooked and felt more like mashed potatoes than a spinach filling. Another big issue were the toilets, which looked like those in an airplane. The doors were difficult to open, and everything looked very run-down. The waiter was very nice, but never once asked if everything tasted good or how we generally liked it. If you want to order the "fresh" mussels for €26, I would advise you to reconsider. The table next to us ordered the mussels, which the waiter was of course very happy about, but then we saw the chef go down to the cellar and come back up with frozen mussels. (I don't know how fresh it is, but oh well), we paid €48 for everything and wouldn't recommend it again; we haven't had such a bad meal in a long time. Best regards

We had dinner here. It was truly the best restaurant! It looks like an American restaurant, but the menu includes Dutch specialties and they serve teppanyaki Dutch cuisine! Of course, they also serve Heineken. The Dutch soup and hutspot were absolutely delicious. What I'm most grateful for is the owner's personality! We had just visited a souvenir shop, and the cash register had broken down, so our credit card wouldn't work. It was a machine problem, but at the time we thought there might be a problem with our credit card and, given the cash balance we had, we panicked, worrying we wouldn't be able to go to the restaurant. However, when we spoke to the owner, he cheerfully and with a laugh said, "There's a bank nearby, so you can withdraw money, so it's no problem!" This completely blew away our worries. The owner was incredibly cheerful and kept us entertained the whole time we were at the table, making us feel truly happy. At the end, we even shook hands with the chef, and our anxious feelings were almost a lie. Having entered this restaurant, we were able to end our trip to the Netherlands on a happy note. Of course, we were able to use our credit card without any problems! We were so pleased that they were so kind to us when we were in a hurry. The food was also incredibly delicious, making this an unforgettable memory of our trip to the Netherlands. When I hear the taste of kindness, I'll remember the soup at this restaurant forever. We are truly grateful. Thank you so much! I apologize for the long delay between my visit and writing this review due to issues with my internet connection. Do yourself a favor and eat here! The Burratta appetizer and the pot of mussels are both incredible. We’ve been on vacation for nearly a month and this was definitely in the top 3 must eat!

We went with the 50% discount from The Fork. With the discount, the price/quality ratio is good. Without it, it was a bit pricey. Our favorites were the Dutch round steak and the Dutch hutspot. We also ordered the meatballs, sausages, and goulash, the latter being more ordinary dishes.

Went here on our first evening in town. Food was good (pea soup, onion soup, croquettes). Yes, cooking was a little slow but that is because one guy seems to do all the cooking on his own in a rather small open kitchen. You could watch him prepare your meal if you liked.

Good but not special. Being a place in the center we didn't have many expectations. The appetizer was quite sad and with rather high prices but good (even though they looked like frozen croquettes. The main courses were abundant but nothing that particularly impressed us. In my opinion eating there without the fork discount is not worth it. But with the discount it was doable

Very unpleasant atmosphere, my friend and I were refused at first to divide the bill in two... As a result we were only thrown a calculator in our face to do the calculation on our part, when we just had to divide by 2... The cook cooks with the same gloves he uses for cashiering, serving and smoking..... Food not fresh, I didn't dare finish my plate. I relied on Google notes to go to this restaurant and frankly I'm going to have a hard time digesting what happened, I've never seen that....

Very clean restaurant, the staff is friendly. There is a bit of a wait because there is only one server and one chef. The food is good, we ate well but don't expect anything exceptional. They cook in front of you. The burger was good, the pasta too and they respected my dietary restrictions.

Awful experience. One of us got French onion soup and noticed stacks of tins of it whilst going to the loo. The chef was on his phone whilst cooking. Phones are a huge career of germs. The actual food was dull and cheap, reminded me of a nasty cafe in England

Hello everyone. This is a very bad restaurant. I would only recommend it to my worst enemy. The waiter was confused and got the order wrong multiple times and after confronting her about it the owner started screaming at us and insulting us. Furthermore, the food tasted like it was from a can and frozen beforehand. In conclusion, don’t go to this restaurant if you don’t want to fall for the biggest tourist-trap in Amsterdam. Ps: I know feel a pain in my stomach after eating the food.

A nice place for a meal after trying to escape the rain and wind. As someone who only eats fish (that swim) and vegetarian dishes, the menu is bit a limited. We tried the fish and chips. The presentation was very nice with a salad but the fish was similar to Mrs. Pauls if you are from the USA - a frozen breaded filet. We did not have high expectations so overall the meal was fine. We enjoyed our beer and wine and appreciated being inside. The team of 2 - the cook and the host/server kept quite busy.

Came here for dinner with the Fork discount. I had the mussels and my husband had the grilled salmon. We did wait for more than 25 minutes for our food but turned out it was worth waiting. They are both delicious. My mussels were on the small sizes but very fresh and good quantities. My husband loved the grilled salmon too. Couldn’t fault the prices after the discount. Recommend.
