Maan Restaurant Nijkerk in Appel, Driedorp, Kruishaar, Prinsenkamp en Slichtenhorst

Rightfully one of the most special places I have ever eaten. A very nice place to dine. The food was very good and refined. We had à la carte, but I suspect the chef's menu is also very good. The only point for improvement: the wine pairing is not very exciting.

Wow! We ended up here by chance, and what a great discovery! We recently bought a caravan that was still on a seasonal pitch at Camping Maaneschijn. We are from Zeewolde ourselves and regularly go out for dinner in Harderwijk, but we hadn't discovered this place before. One thing is certain: we will definitely be back here! The service is top-notch, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is just perfect. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We dined at Maan for the third time, and once again, it was a wonderful evening. The seven-course menu was surprising, refined, and clearly of a high standard. The amuse-bouches served as a lovely prelude. The red snapper, in particular, was exceptional. A dish unlike anything we had tasted before: surprising in flavor and beautifully executed. The cheese board also deserves a mention. We thought it was a very nice idea that you could choose which cheeses you wanted yourself. Moreover, the selection was excellent, with a strong focus on fine Dutch cheeses. Tasty and original. The service was as we have come to expect from Maan: professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. With the wine pairing, we received a good and interesting explanation for every wine. Not a standard spiel, but genuine explanations that added something to the dishes and the evening. We brought someone along who had never been to Maan before, and she was quite impressed as well. As far as we are concerned, that says a lot. It is not just good food, but truly an evening out where everything comes together: food, wine, service, and atmosphere. Hospitality is an important part of that. One small point: at the end, the coffee with petit fours, which were part of the seven-course menu, was unfortunately forgotten. We were not reminded of this upon departure either. Presumably, this was because we were the last guests by then. To be perfectly honest, we didn't even mind that much at the time, because after such a long and elaborate evening, we were actually quite done with it. 😉 But it is a shame, of course, especially since the coffee at Maan is also very good. All in all, another very successful evening. We have now been to Maan for the third time, and the standard remains high. Surprising food, beautiful products, good wines, and very professional hospitality. A restaurant you will happily dedicate an evening to.

We went out for dinner at Maan for my birthday. It was a very pleasant experience. Beautiful, flavorful, and refined dishes. Unique flavors combined with a lot of variety in textures. Very friendly staff, who even offered a prepared birthday greeting on their own. 10/10

Yesterday, I ate there for the second time with a friend. I had already had a fantastic meal the first time, so usually the second time is impossible to top. Nothing could be further from the truth; this man really knows how to cook, and the service was top-notch again. I will be back in September because this is definitely worth a return visit.

We had something to celebrate and were looking forward to a lovely culinary evening. Our four-course dinner certainly lived up to that! Unusual, delicious combinations in the courses, which they skillfully pair with various types of wine. Finished off with a cappuccino accompanied by delicious friandises. Good service from staff who know how to present the dishes and are open to a bit of humor. The restaurant is situated in a rural setting with a view of some deer; beautiful animals to see. I sat in a spot where you can watch the sun set; the changing colors of the sky are beautiful to behold. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious meal yesterday with friends. Beautiful creations. The salmon Wellington with the cabbage leaves was delicious, and the starter with tuna and sea bream was also delicious. Wonderful wines to accompany it. And saw Luuk again. Alexander, keep up the good work with your team.

The food was truly fantastic. The chef's menu is very surprising; every bite was beautiful and delicious. Presentation, flavors, and quantity—everything was top-notch. This was my second time eating here, but it was also the best. What makes it really enjoyable is that you also get to try things you wouldn't normally eat. For example, we had Jerusalem artichoke, which was so delicious. If you have any special requests, they're very accommodating. A beer pairing would complete the experience (there are plenty of connoisseurs in the area), and what would also make it great for drinks is a special drink paired with each dish (it doesn't have to be just wine).

Book well in advance to romantically celebrate your 37th wedding anniversary, only to have it abruptly canceled because they suddenly have a party? The reservation system is useless, despite confirmation! This is usually the case at a high-end beach club, which is a real shame!

It took a bit of searching to find the perfect location, but that's precisely the charm of this restaurant. It's situated on a farm campsite. We had a truly fantastic meal, a four-course meal with a wine pairing that the host carefully curated. Every course was a feast. Thank you so much!

An excellent restaurant with delicious, local dishes. This was our fourth visit, and each time we're amazed by the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality. It's a bit hidden if you don't know it, but I certainly wish Maan had a good time for everyone, especially us. 😉

A truly wonderful restaurant. Our "modest" three-course menu was packed with flavors, unique combinations of ingredients, flavors, and little surprises. The quail prepared three ways, the oxtail partially hidden in a caramelized onion, the beetroot in a sauce I can't remember the name of, the Baileys with white chocolate and drops of a delicious oil... and I'm forgetting all the other dishes... The service was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the chef made a regular appearance. Highly recommended!!

A hidden gem in Appel. A top-notch restaurant, worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion. A beautifully decorated restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and service. The menu is fantastic; ingredients from their own garden or locally sourced. Original culinary creations, crafted with expertise and care. Each time, an explosion of flavors unfolds one after the other. Superb! The location (a farm with a "farm campsite" and farm shop) seems unexpected at first, but that makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

Beautiful dishes. But we miss passion and experience. As a guest, you want to be pampered. That includes an amuse-bouche and a few surprises in between, such as small snacks outside the menu. The dishes look beautiful and taste exquisite, but they could be a bit more generous. We hadn't received water, and when we mentioned it, it arrived immediately. Fine, but once we got home, it turned out we'd paid twice for it. There's still room for improvement.

Fantastically delicious food in a unique place. With delicious wines. This is Michelin Bib Gourmand worthy, but better not say that too loudly / tell others otherwise the uniqueness is gone. My favorite was the starter with tomato and the dessert with apricots and custard. But everything in between was actually just as delicious. For a moment you think you are on a camping site - but no, this is clearly a restaurant. And what a restaurant! Beautiful, surprising and refined dishes, perfectly accompanied by exceptional drinks, both with and without alcohol.

Because those who love an intimate, tasteful culinary experience with a warm and personal touch, experience Maan Restaurant as a hidden gem in Nijkerk. Think of a gastronomic surprise menu with a real taste experience in all dishes. Nice touch, the chefs themselves come to bring the dishes with an explanation of the dish. What a great spot! Last night the two of us had a delicious six-course meal. Upon arrival we wondered for a moment whether we were in the right place, as we had not expected such a restaurant next to a camping shop, but whether we were in the right place! Original, refined dishes, all beautifully prepared, with excellent wine pairing. We enjoyed it immensely!

Fantastic food in a beautiful location, hidden in the landscape behind Nijkerk. The hamlet of Appel harbors a culinary secret. Maan is an attractive restaurant in the old stables of a farm with a campsite. This combination does not immediately raise the expectation of top-level food, but the reviews were good, so that was tempting. The welcome from the host was warm and the atmosphere is cozy and beautiful and exudes the authenticity of the family farm. The surprise then came on the plate. What beautiful lunch dishes and beautiful flavor combinations. The chicken protein allergy of one of us was taken into account perfectly and the chef conjured up a completely adapted dish for one of the courses that was more than just a improvised alternative. All the creativity and love for cooking was used to prepare a delicious dish without egg whites. Cheers! Anyone who wants to enjoy culinary delights in the Amersfoort region should visit this place in the outskirts of Nijkerk. Well worth it!

Restaurant Maan is a real discovery! I have eaten here three times now, and each time it has been an exceptional experience. The dishes are prepared with so much care and creativity; each course is a tasteful surprise and beautifully presented. The service is friendly, professional and very attentive, which completes the whole experience. This restaurant can absolutely compete with Michelin star restaurants. I recommend it to anyone looking for a high-level culinary experience. I look forward to enjoying all the beauty they have to offer here again!

The food was of very good quality. However, tiny portions. It is also very careful with the wine. The timing was not good several times. Just before the starter, quickly bring the amuse bouche. When the coffee was finished, the friandises arrived. The bill showed a surcharge on dishes, which had not been communicated to us. Not really a pleasant atmosphere/host/hostess. They performed their duties well, but it was all a bit measured and distant. Next time we will go for more fun, larger portions and better timing. And finally, quite expensive.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully presented and tasty 8-course menu with matching wine pairing. We were met at the door and our name was already called from the reservation. The explanation of the dishes and matching wines is perfect and in a relaxed atmosphere. We had the scoop of a new dish with a nice explanation from the chef. After a pleasant and well-balanced send-off, we returned home very satisfied and with many accolades for this beautiful evening.

We had dinner there with 4 people on August 31. Even though there was another very large group present (and therefore we could not fully understand each other), we really had a great evening. We had heard that it was a good tent, but we did not despise this. It is in a very special place in the old stable between the meadows A very friendly (blonde) man was waiting for us outside and immediately knew who we were. He made our evening. He knew exactly what we were looking for in terms of wines. He knew a lot about it but told it in a very nice and understandable way. We opted for the full wine package, but if this is too much, you can also opt for a half package. In addition to the wines, the food was also phenomenal. I like to go to good restaurants in Amsterdam, but this was absolutely comparable to a number of top restaurants in the area.

A very nice and tasty surprise. Small restaurant with perfect service. Choice of a 4, 6 or 8 course dinner. We liked it. Can something change? Well, maybe the French doors. There you look out onto the yard/parking lot and that looks a bit out of place with the decoration inside and at the front. I think a few nice planters do wonders. We'll be back soon.

This is an unexpectedly special place. The chef serves very unique courses that you have never eaten elsewhere. When you arrive at the farm campsite, you don't expect what you will find inside. Be surprised. Recommended! Ps on Friday and Saturday it is a 4 course dinner or more. Take into account a wonderful evening of mouth-watering program of at least 2.5 hours.

Prices are getting a bit too high, €12.50 for a glass of beer after the appetizer? Remains a prime location.

Very good and high quality food. We were a group of 20 people who were used to good food. Everyone was positively surprised. You don't expect a top-level restaurant in such a remote place and the exterior of the building has no pretensions whatsoever. But then a wonderful explosion of special flavors and creative layout comes to you. Highly recommended!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our marriage anniversary with our daughter, who is 11 years old. I do not recommend this restaurant for families with children. The restaurant is not children-friendly at all. We could not understand why they were not flexible to serve some food to our daughter. Luckily, Mc. Donald’s is very close to the restaurant, and I bought some food for my daughter, who could eat them in the car. Secondly, it is tough to contact them. They don’t answer the phones and emails. As a result, our dinner and night were utterly destroyed for these reasons. On top of that, my daughter asked for some extra bread since she was hungry, and they charged them on the bill, which I had never seen before.

Definitely recommended, the food is beautifully served and is a true taste sensation. Recommended to take the wine package, it is really fantastic!

What a gem on the Veluwe. It's a bit of a shock at first when you arrive, but you've come to the right place when you park next to the farm shop of a farm that breeds red deer. Located quite outside, the 'open' wines are not top notch and the choice on the menu is not too large. But everything on the menu is top notch. You don't expect that much ambition. Truly an experience.

The food was fantastic! The plates are works of art. Service is very friendly and explains all dishes. The restaurant exudes a very cozy, intimate and informal atmosphere but is very stylish at the same time. Recently ate at a Michelin star restaurant but this was much better, in every way!

Had a delicious meal here on the recommendation of others! Cozy atmosphere and the food is great. It can be seen that the chef puts a lot of effort into every dish, and the service completes the experience. It won't be long before this place becomes widely known. Hope to come here again soon.

Today we had a delicious meal at a gem on the Veluwe. Hidden in a small hamlet with the appropriate name Appel, close to Nijkerk. Maan restaurant is located in a former stable and looks stylish. It is very attractively and intimately warmly decorated. Today I had a four-course menu where I was pleasantly surprised during each course. A month ago I had dinner in the Gastrobar of star chef Ron Blauw, but this was better. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to discover something new. I am sure I will come back here more often and wish the chef and his hostess the best of luck and hope that others will soon find their way to Maan Restaurant.
