In this very atmospheric restaurant (beautiful building), we were immediately warmly welcomed upon entering. The staff was very friendly, and with a touch of humor, we were surprised with a 5-course dinner. Beautiful small creations, explosions of flavor, good ingredients, and just the right portion size. The matching wines completed the experience. The ambiance is stylish and intimate. Another gem discovered!

We had a wonderful evening at Het Sluishuys and opted for the 6-course chef's menu. The hospitality began even before our visit: we received a call that morning asking if we had any special requests and were immediately given helpful tips regarding parking. A nice detail that immediately created a personal impression. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location and exudes tranquility and quality. We were seated in a room with a large group, however, which meant that despite the careful acoustic damping, it remained quite noisy at times. The welcome was warm, and both the waitress and waiter were friendly and attentive. The dishes were flavorful, beautifully presented, and the portions well-balanced. As experienced diners, we did notice that various flavors and ingredients recurred regularly throughout the menu, making some dishes feel less distinctive than we had expected. We also felt that the wine experience fell short of the standard the restaurant projects. The wine glasses felt simple, and although we had chosen a complete wine pairing, the explanations accompanying the wines remained very superficial. As a result, we got the feeling that there was no sommelier present, or that less attention was paid to our table. Furthermore, there was no real proactive consideration regarding the non-alcoholic pairings. In our opinion, the 0.0 ‘wines’ offered did not complement the dishes sufficiently, and the impression was created that there are few options available in the non-alcoholic category. Especially nowadays, the range of high-quality non-alcoholic wines and other gastronomic alternatives is greater than ever, so we had expected more creativity and expertise here. Additionally, we were not given the opportunity to choose a cheese dessert, even though we saw this option appear at another table later on. Despite these points of attention, we had a very successful evening. The kitchen demonstrates great craftsmanship in the cooking, and the hospitality is genuine.

Had an exceptionally delicious meal!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 6-course surprise dinner with friends. The chef also prepared a vegetarian 6-course version. Everything was perfectly taken care of, and we had coffee on the terrace beforehand. It was another fantastic evening!

A beautiful restaurant in Nijkerk aan de Sluis. We had a lovely time as a couple in a cozy dining room. The dishes were visually stunning and of very high quality. Clear explanations for each dish were provided by the wait staff or the chef. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Everything is right at Het Sluishuys; fantastically good food (and good non-alcoholic drink options), a beautiful terrace and a host and hostess who make everything run smoothly. We felt very welcome and will definitely come back!

Lovely terrace. Plenty of choice in sun or shade. We had a lovely time sitting by the water. For parents with children there is a playground, which can be seen well from one of the terraces. Here too a nice view of the water. The distance to the water is further here. This gives a safe feeling. Friendly staff.

If you enjoy culinary delights, this is the place to be. I don't need to say more. Go here!

EXCELLENT DINNER Culinary delights. The ambiance is homely. Beautiful tableware. Everything is thought of. Excellent hospitality, and the young service is certainly not inferior to the older ones. Chapeau, to the kitchen brigade. It is nice that half glasses of wine are also served. This way you, as a driver, can also enjoy it with others.

Every dish was a taste sensation and beautifully presented, with an eye for detail and quality. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional and made us feel welcome straight away. The ambiance made the evening complete – warm, atmospheric and cozy. This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys culinary delights. We are already looking forward to our next visit. This is without a doubt a place we will return to again and again! Five stars, and an extra star if possible!

A gem on the dike. Who would suspect that there is such a great restaurant in the Sluishuys? The dishes are, as can be seen in the photos, clear: fish is fish and meat is meat. No frills on difficult constructions, but each one tastes great. The accompanying wines are often original and also very tasty! Finally a ministry that knows what they are talking about and knows how to convey it clearly. In short: fine.

How is it possible that this restaurant does not have at least 1 Michelin star? What a beautiful ambiance, excellent service and a kitchen that many star restaurants can learn from!

Had dinner at Sluishuis tonight. Even though we were close to the water, the food didn't go anywhere. Atmosphere and surroundings were fine, but the food was not up to par. In the dishes there were too many different flavors on the plate. The salmon came with a quenelle of horseradish that was far too bitter and overpowering. With the main course, there were simply too many flavors on the plate, without much coherence. It is a beautiful location and the building is beautiful, but unfortunately the restaurant cannot live up to it.

Sometimes you find a gem :) enjoy! We had dinner at the Sluishuys with a group of 20+ to celebrate our birthday. Everything was perfect and arranged down to the last detail by chef Erik and his team. Several small rooms so we could eat in a room. The food is sooooo delicious, the portions are good size, beautiful plates, and the flavors are delicious. The vegetarian dishes were also fantastic. All our friends thought the food was delicious and the location very beautiful. The weather allowed us to receive outside. We will definitely come back more often, highly recommended!!

Enjoyed a three course lunch in this lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. It was very quiet and therefore it seemed like "private dining". Both starter and main course consisted of fish, both were delicious. The combination of flavors was surprising, without giving us the feeling of eating in a laboratory. Dessert was fresh and fruity, perfectly fine. The host welcomed us at the door and was always there at the right time. We will definitely come back again.

Had lunch here with four people yesterday and it was, in a word, fantastic. Delicious fish dishes with matching wines and a delicious dessert afterwards. So we will definitely come back!

Oh wow! What a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Fantastic lunch, excellent dishes with excellent taste balance. The catfish in a curry crumb layer with asparagus and mashed potatoes. So good! And then the asparagus soup with foam layer that made it nice and creamy. Excellent appetizers too. And excellent service. 't Sluishuys is an enrichment for the Amersfoort region. It deserves more than the 13 points from Gault Millaut and a star from Michelin!

On Sunday, June 2, I had lunch with friends at Restaurant Het Sluishuys. We enjoyed an excellent lunch. The dishes had delicious, fresh flavors that were perfectly balanced, and the accompanying wine was excellent. The value for money is excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect. We will definitely come back again.

What a nice thing. It's not that noticeable along the road. But this is a hidden gem. You can easily park across the street. And you get an exit card when you leave. The service is very good and the food is delicious. They have a chef's menu and you can choose your own number of courses. We had 4 courses and each course looked beautiful and tasted delicious. You can choose matching wines that are very well matched to the dishes. The place looks nice and they also have a nice bar where you can hang out for a drink. The chairs are comfortable.

What a winner. Very charming restaurant and you will experience a new taste sensation with every course! The service is also personable, friendly and knowledgeable. Sluishuis is all about quality!

Had a delicious lunch in this beautiful restaurant near the lock. We had the three-course menu and were really pampered with delicious dishes based mainly on fish, but unfortunately one of the guests cannot tolerate white fox and was delighted with a tasty piece of pigeon and roe deer. It is almost impossible to describe, all the dishes and the wine were so delicious. For us, a good reception is just as important and the maître d' has definitely taken care of that. Someone who understands his profession perfectly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and beautifully lit. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to reach (if you do not have a BOB). Otherwise we would like to come here more often!!

What a nice restaurant where you are right by the water

A truly unique location where you can enjoy delicious food. Really enjoy the Arkeheem polder on the border of Nijkerk and Zeewolde.

We would have liked to visit the restaurant today with our very well-behaved dog, who has been to restaurants (several starred restaurants) hundreds of times. But we were rudely turned away at the door. Even outside on the terrace was not possible. It could have been a hundred and fifty to two hundred euros in sales. It remains to be seen whether the owner can afford this in the long term.

I would have loved to go out to eat with my wife and our lovely little white dogs 🐕, unfortunately as is often the case, no dogs allowed. It's a shame because as gourmet testers we always have to find out that dogs are not welcome in a restaurant. But we don't give up hope. Many star restaurants have already rethought. There are many people who depend on dogs and, like us, would like to enjoy an excellent menu where money is not the top priority. Maybe another time. Sorry, I would have liked to give 5 stars because we really liked the menu.

Delicious food and drinks in a beautiful atmosphere.

Had a lovely lunch on my own. Good service and I was certainly not left to my own devices! The food tasted great, maybe the fish was a bit too much for some, but I love it. I was my own driver so no wine for me, but a tasty (!) non-alcoholic wine with a light bubble and a hint of apple. It paired very well with my asparagus starter. The decor is beautiful, as is the view. What else do you want!

We had the 6-course menu, courses 1 to 4 were delicious in terms of wine/food combination, the food in the 5th course was great but the wine was less so and the last course was quite tasty in terms of both food and wine but not special at all. a bit of an anticlimax after what we had already had. That was a pity. But worth repeating.
