Loved this place! It was my first time trying Indonesian and everything was great. Broad variety of dishes along with superb service in both Dutch and English. Food was tasty and hearty. The lady that took our order was kind and explained what each dish was in a clear manner. My partner and I ordered the Medium plates with Noodles/Rice, 2 main dishes and 2 veggie sides for 17€. I would absolutely return and I advise you to visit.

I had a great experience at Made’s Warung. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. The Nasi Rames is especially recommended, full of flavor and really satisfying. The location is not right in the city center, but honestly, the food is worth the trip. If I have the chance, I’m always happy to come back here. Definitely a place I would recommend for anyone craving good Indonesian food 😊

We had a delicious meal. For us, it's the best Indonesian restaurant. We got takeout. It's great that the food comes in a compartmented container, so it doesn't all get mixed up.

Excellent food and superb service! The owners were very friendly and accomodating to our needs. It was the perfect final stop in our visit to Amsterdam as there was a bus 397 stop nearby which took us straight to the airport for our flight out of Schipol

Absolutely stunning food with complex flavors and layers of spice. Absolutely love the format of a selection of multiple dishes in one so you gat a tour of Balinese standouts. Come early for dinner to avoid the inevitable lines. Staff were welcoming and the space is delightful.

This place was an amazing find. I had the special plate with 2 veggies and a side of rice. I chose the sweet beef and chicken with 22 spices(can't remember the name). It was all so delicious. The icing on top was the warm and welcoming service. I cant wait to visit again.

Made’s Warung Amsterdam is one of the best spots in the city—quietly outstanding without the fuss. It’s a casual, low key kind of place with counter service where you pick from a great selection of meats, veggies, rice, and noodles to build your plate. Then they artfully plate your order serving hot Balinese art! If the weather is nice they set up casual but very comfortable outdoor seating and sometimes carry fresh coconuts for coconut water which goes perfectly with the meal. What makes it even more special is that it’s family-run—the dad, mom, son, and daughter all involved. The food quality, the service, the cleanliness, and just the friendly, down-to-earth vibe from everyone working there is consistent every time. The flavors? Spot on. Rich, balanced, and bursting with authentic Indonesian spices that never get boring—they’re comforting and exciting all at once. I’ve tried plenty of fancier, more well-known Indonesian places around Amsterdam, but for me, Made’s Warung tops them all. After more than 40 visits, it’s become one of my favorite restaurants IN THE WORLD.

Made’s Warung is a true authentic Balinese warung where you can either eat in on onenig the two tables or can get take-out Indonesian food of exceptional quality. It is our go-to restaurant whenever we are in the mood, even though we live in Noord it is well worth the detour!!

Everything we had was so tasty the first time we had to return 2 days later before leaving Amsterdam and the food was great again with different choices! We had the nasi campur special both times. And the peanut sauce with the sate ayam was sooo good! Such a great find near Vondelpark!

Rude server (girl with braided dark hair and thick framed black glasses) with a condescending attitude - we were 3 people and asked for two rames to share, we then asked for empty plates, and she said something like "only one is more than ok, we don't have many plates.", mind you the restaurant was very quiet. As soon as we went out the door she "shouted" something that we didn't understand (we don't speak Dutch). Food was ok, not great, but we felt very unwelcomed. Would NEVER return.

Nice atmosphere, delicious Balinese food!

Soto ayam was really good. We walked 2.2km in the rain and it’s worth it. Very authentic, just like how we have it back home. Definitely recommend.

We ate the special plate twice for €15.50. Here, you can choose one side dish (different rice/noodles), two meats (there were three pork dishes, three chicken dishes), and two vegetable side dishes. The food is then assembled and heated in the microwave. The food was quite good, but far from 5 stars. It tastes a bit like when I cook Asian food. Price-wise, €15.50 for reheated food is a bit steep, in my opinion. There's limited space in the restaurant, so it's normal for others to be seated at the same table. If you go, I recommend the sweet and sour pork; I think it was the best. Conclusion: Pretty good food, and you'll be full, but I wouldn't go again.

What a great little find 15 minutes walk from the Rijksmuseum and away from the crowds. The gentleman was really helpful and for us indecisive people even put together a meal for us. The aubergine dish (eggplant) was so good as was the lemongrass chicken. Other staff popped their heads out to say hi. Great place to visit and well worth the walk.

“A piece of Bali, hidden in Amsterdam – my experience at Made's Warung” Rarely have I tasted so much soul in a dish as at Made's Warung Amsterdam. What started as a spontaneous visit grew into a true journey back to Indonesia, to the smells of the streets of Ubud, the warmth of a warung in Kuta, and the smile of a Balinese grandmother who serves you food as if you were her own child. I chose the Nasi Campur Special, and was immediately blown away by the balance: tender rendang with that deep, almost mystical flavor of long-stewed herbs, combined with spicy sambal goreng beans, perfectly steamed rice, and vegetables that tasted fresher than at the Denpasar market. Everything was right. Nothing was rushed. Everything was real. What makes this restaurant special is not only the food, but the intention with which it is prepared. No pretension here, no Instagram hype, but love, simplicity and craftsmanship. Every dish breathes tradition. Every detail tells a story — from the family recipes from 1973 to the smiles of the staff who greet you as if you were coming home. I finished with a dadar gulung, and felt for a moment as if I was sitting under the palm trees, with a gentle breeze of pandan and coconut in the air. Lovely & kind service, the staff explained each dish to us so we could add anything we liked to our plate! Small, but very cozy place, situated in a calm neighborhood. It‘s walk-in only so make sure to be early! Lovely surprise - the lady from staff remembered that my mum loves coconut & brought her a small sweet coconut dish as a dessert for free!

Really great food! We had the Gado Gado and Nasi campur vega, both of which were very tasty. The satay sauce is very flavorful, not spicy, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and even gave us a free portion of pepasan (mackerel) to try.

Made’s Warung is an incredible family-owned gem in Amsterdam. Run by the lovely Zara, Melle, Bagus, and Kuswati, this restaurant offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. The food is always fresh, healthy, and simply delicious. I especially look forward to Fridays, which is Shrimp Day – the only day they serve shrimp, and it’s absolutely worth the wait! Zara and Mele are especially wonderful – so genuine, humble, and truly kind. You can tell they pour their heart and soul into everything they do, and it shows in the food and the service. The entire team is friendly, attentive, and makes every visit memorable. Made’s Warung is truly a standout in Amsterdam, and it’s the kind of family-run place that the city needs more of. I can’t recommend it enough – a true treasure!

I like the food here so much that I almost dream about it. ;) The flavors are seasoned and balanced just right. The portions are enough for an average eater and the service is so friendly. My favorite Indo in the South.

The food was amazing with professional service. Certainly taste like authentic Balinese cuisine – coming from an Indonesian who lives in Amsterdam. The owner was super nice (we spoke Indonesian for a bit), and after a nice meal, she gave us Dadar Gulung. P.S. This treat also tastes like home! Edit: Update: Been there again, the food and service are still top! The Ayam Suwir was super delicious. My friends agreed Made's Warung is delicious!
