Too soggy, too lukewarm, and too salty to justify a price of 6.85 for fries with mayonnaise.

These fries are amazing, I loved them! There was quite a queue, but it was totally worth it. They're super crispy and delicious. If you go, don't miss them, they're definitely worth it. They have tons of sauces for €1.50 each. We chose the samurai and truffle sauces—incredible! 🫢

I bought kibbeling on August 3rd, but unfortunately more than half of it ended up with the cats! There were no fish pieces in there, just hard, overcooked kibbeling. Very disappointing and a waste of my money!! The employee was friendly, though!

Fish and chips always closes early, sometimes hours in advance, and staff say it is because they are understaffed. Poor decision: selling the fries but not the fish!

The fish and chips are definitely recommended. For €12.50, you get a good meal for a reasonable price, and even two sauces of your choice. The fish was well-seasoned and crispy, but the fries were a bit too soft and mushy.

Crispy, golden, and full of flavor! The fries were freshly made and perfectly crunchy on the outside while soft on the inside. The sauce options were great, and the portion size was generous. A small place to have Fish & chips (it's actually one place : one for french fries, and the other for fish & chips) the fish was very delicious the sauces were also nice, however the french fries were so so.

The regular fries weren't particularly delicious. Even the smallest size was quite a large portion. I've had much better fries in the Netherlands.

I was just walking by and decided to stop in on a whim. I’m glad I did—the fries were absolutely delicious! The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A simple visit that turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

If you stand in line politely, you are punished by not being allowed to order expensive, mediocre fries. What would you do if there was a long line at a chip shop around dinnertime? Exactly, it must be for the fries. After waiting my turn for 20 minutes, it turned out that this was only the takeaway line. Ordering at that moment wasn't a problem, but I did have to stand in line for another 20 minutes, because if they made me pay for pickup, that was "unfair to the rest of those waiting." What an illogical system that isn't indicated anywhere with a sign or anything. Fortunately, fries have gone downhill so much in recent years that I won't miss them if I order my food somewhere else from now on. Maybe you find this review unreasonable; that's possible. I'm sitting on the train right now too, hanging because I couldn't get an alternative dinner.

If you want very good quality fries when you are in Utrecht, go to this place. The fries are freshly fried and served very hot and already salted. There are also many sauces to choose from. They serve fish and chips which seemed very popular. Great snack, with three portion sizes to chose from. A small is enough for me!

This place is simply fantastic! The food is really fresh and delicious and the portions are BIG and cheap! The staff is also REALLY nice and friendly and speak English. It's just outside the train station so if you arrive hungry or before you travel this is the right place for a fast delicious meal.

Tasty fresh fries! However, I would not recommend visitors with a fear of germs sit at one of the tables, as it seems they are not wiped down very often.

Waiting 25 minutes for an expensive fry, also quite an achievement to get it so dry and tough. Truly worthless, I'm used to better from Manneken Pis.

Fish is mostly crust, chips are cold and chewy. It was late in the day and busy, so that might’ve played a role but this used to be my go to place for fish and chips when I have to change trains at Utrecht CS, and the food used to be (much) better. Mostly writing this review to remind myself not to eat here again 😅

Quite pricey (€3.50 for a simple croquette), but then again, you are in a busy location. For that money, you would at least expect fresh products in the vending machine. However, unfortunately, it is too often soggy rubbish. A shame.

Manneken Pis is a place for a quick bite. I go there for one thing: the fish and chips. French fries with battered fish pieces. And it is, in one word, good. And plentiful, too. It is a lot for one person. That’s fine, though. But you could share it with two people. The amount of battered fish pieces is also fine and tasty (fried). I enjoy coming to Manneken Pis.

I was helped by Joost on Sunday, February 15, 2026, around 8 p.m. I received polite and efficient service, with fresh fries, and a great atmosphere. We also had a nice chat; he's a nice guy. Great snacks, but unfortunately, almost all the vending machines are broken. This means you have to queue if you want a quick bite, which isn't ideal if you have a train to catch. It also doesn't help that the staff sometimes completely ignore you.

Not that they can do much about the location, but the corner/square is a bit uninviting and a bit grim during our visit. However, the food and the staff make up for a lot. We ended up eating the delicious fries elsewhere, but it's definitely a place we'll return to.

The smallest portion is still twice as big for me. I'd like to go back to the old smaller portion size.

I bought a veal croquette. It was so soft that it broke in two when I picked it up and got all over my clothes. And the replacement croquette I received was simply cold. A bad experience where I was fobbed off with junk. In conclusion, a waste of my 3 euros.

It’s been a while since I became a customer here. They have the best kibbeling in Utrecht — maybe even in the whole Netherlands 🇳🇱! Always fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions 😍. I always know what to eat when I’m at Utrecht Central and feeling hungry.

Waited 15min for fries and left when I ran out of patience and had to catch my train. Didn't seem like the staff was able to handle the que since they didn't even respond when I tried to ask if they forgot my order or something. Excellent fries/chips with lots of sauce options. Snacks are available from the vending machine; my satay croquette could have been crispier. The people behind the counter were friendly (despite the line), and the place looks very inviting.

The portion size is adequate, with a small option available for 4 euros, excluding additional items. The taste is indeed quite pleasant.

Some of the best fries I've ever had, with a variety of sauces available. The price is a bit high compared to my local snack bar, but I tasted the quality in every bite and it's significantly better than my local snack bar. The bamischijf (noodle disk) is also very tasty and I definitely recommend it. Definitely worth repeating and highly recommended if you're in Utrecht.

For a fast-food chain, the flavor wasn't bad. Even though it wasn't very busy when I went, the fries were hot. I was satisfied, and the price was average.

The fries/fried fish and the kibbelings were excellent, simply delicious and fresh. The shrimp were also perfect with the chili sauce. ;) The service was very friendly. ;) The only drawback is the outdoor area. It's unfortunately a bit neglected – the tables weren't clean, and there were leftover food on the floor. Regular cleaning would significantly improve the impression. It's not like customers have to clean their seats first.

I was craving fries and a croquette. I hadn't had one in years. I asked for medium fries without salt. No problem, I was told. Even though it was incredibly busy. To my utter amazement, the container the fries come in was meticulously cleaned before I received my portion. Fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious. And...not a single crumb of salt! Then came the beef croquette. I have to say: I've rarely had such a delicious croquette. A divine crust with a fantastic filling. What quality and what service! No wonder there was a long line of people patiently waiting for their food. So, the tastiest Manneken Pis can undoubtedly be found at Utrecht Central Station!

I wanted to eat fries at Mannekin Pis, but this location is especially dirty. This is the second time I found hair in my food. I came back because it’s close to my office, but the hygiene problem remains the same. Employees don’t wear hairnets or any protection, and some even touch their face or beard while working. This is not a healthy environment, and I will make sure my colleagues don’t come here either.

Ate there with the kids on Wednesday. Ordered 3 small fries and 3 snacks. I guess I wasn't paying attention because 26 euros were debited from my account?! Or has it really gotten that expensive?

Amazing staff, amazing (fresh) fries

I ate at Manneke Pis today, and the friendly and polite staff helped me well. The food arrived quickly despite a large order, and it tasted excellent.

Great food. Friendly, dedicated people. I always enjoy having fries or a snack here during my work break. They even tell me that some snacks are vegetarian, but are fried in the same fat as the non-vegetarian snacks. Super nice! Compliments!

A wonderful experience at Manneken Pis. I was very pleased with my visit to Manneken Pis. The staff was incredibly friendly and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was also delicious! Well-seasoned and beautifully presented. Definitely a place I'd love to return to!

Bad, limp fries, dirty, filthy location. Manneken Pis had well-fried fries in the past, unfortunately this is no longer the case, I will go to another one next time.

Famous Dutch fries shops almost always serve fat fries, which are very filling and filling. There were so many sauces I didn't know what to choose, so the owner suggested peanut butter and onion dices, which was surprisingly good. The most surprising thing was the interesting perforated design on the tables and countertops.

Not freshly fried, very expensive,I saw weird staff eating things with bare hand behind the counter.

Fish and chips with good sauces

Received the wrong order. No apology. When I complained, they canceled my order. I also told him I hope he improves his skills soon. If you can't even handle frying fries and fried cod, life is going to be tough.

I occasionally get fish and chips here. The quality varies: sometimes it's very good, other times it's disappointing. The fries aren't always fried properly; the insides stay soft and lack a crispy bite. The kibbeling (fried fish) is also good sometimes, not so much at other times. The prices are a bit on the high side, but that's understandable given Manneken Pis's reputation. My advice: try it once, but a good local fishmonger often does a better job. If you're just going for fries, I recommend the branch on the other side of the station (towards the city center, near the square or the main street). They don't have fish there, but they do have better fries in my experience. Regarding the surrounding area: it can sometimes get a bit noisy in the square with shouting people and homeless people, although I personally didn't experience any problems. All in all: it's worth a try, but there's definitely room for improvement.

Dirty tables, rainwater everywhere, overpirced

We both got very sick after eating here. The quality of the food was absolutely terrible. We would absolutely not recommend this restaurant. We don't normally write reviews, but this experience was so extremely negative that we want to warn others.

Got 3 fries with mayo. They were old and had small, old pieces of fries that had been fried multiple times. Frying the fries multiple times burned the grease. A waste of money, and we also had a huge stomach ache. Absolutely terrible! The staff was friendly. But they can't sell old, fried pieces of fries in old grease! You should expect fresh fries for your money!

The potatoes weren't fresh. You realize this when you eat them. You feel the hard texture when you chew them. The taste is behind those in Germany. The sauces and spices are good. The staff is nice.

Not much of a romantic here, so when I’m ready to enjoy my crispy fries, I’m not exactly up for a love speech with a fry in hand. The fries themselves? Crispy, perfectly golden, and seriously addictive. And the sauce selection… where do you even start? Truffel mayo is my go-to, but they have a whole arsenal of sauces, from sweet to spicy, enough to turn even the dullest fries into a party in your mouth. Sauces galore. Honestly? Sometimes the fries are my best date, those flirty lines are easy to tune out with a big bite. Bonus: the fries fill you up nicely, even if you’re a slow eater like me. 📍 Conclusion: Manneken Pis at Utrecht Central is the spot for fries that make you forget there’s a lovebird fluttering next to you. Visited around 20:20 and received my order barely ten minutes later. Fries were a little soggy and very generously salted. Not my preference, but to each their own :) staff is friendly & like I said, swift service

Dirty settings and incredibly rude service

I used a croquet vending machine. When you pay with touch payment, the door of the box containing the croquet opens and you can take it yourself, but the door of the empty box opens. I told the clerk that if I touch my card, the door will open. When I tried again, the door below opened and I was able to buy croquet. However, when I looked at my card's payment history, I saw that the payment had been made twice, and the amount that did not include the first croquet was also debited. It was partly because of my poor English skills, but I lost out.

Fries are not crunchy. MannekinPis sauce was good though.

They are fresh fries and tasty mayo, but 5.60 euros for a small mayo fries is really ridiculous. I understand that everything has become more expensive, but this is no longer fun. And they fill one bag much more than the other. so it was a small half bag that I got. And 1.25 for a little mayo?

A quick, fast food, fatty meal. A takeaway place with acceptable prices.

Delicious fries. Fries were cooked well. The bami bite had a nice taste, slightly sweet. In appearance they have a nice corner where you can sit, but in February with wind it is not full of atmosphere. Get friendly and efficient help.

Wow first time having kibling and it was so good!! Fish was tender and flakey. Batter was light and crispy with lots of flavour. The tartar sauce was literally to die for. Definitely my favourite thing I ate in the Netherlands so far.
