I had a disappointing experience at Maoz Falafel, located at Muntplein 1, 1017 CK Amsterdam. I ordered a sandwich and three falafel balls, and after receiving my order, I approached the salad bar, thinking it was open for customers to add vegetables. Unaware of any restrictions, I picked a small piece of tomato to taste. A staff member immediately yelled at me in a harsh and rude manner, putting me in a very embarrassing situation in front of other people. I returned the tomato, but the aggressive reaction was completely uncalled for. Such poor customer service really left a negative impression on my experience.

I recommend trying it.. very delicious, the staff was great 👍🏼

Should be cleaner. I like the food and the service option where you can serve yourself and fill your pita bread at your choice. But they should keep the buffet cleaner.

Super delicious!!! You get the falafel in a pita and can then fill your pita yourself from a wide selection of toppings and sauces, the price even includes “refilling” the pita. I'm annoyed that I only went in on the second to last day of our stay. Yummy!!!

Food was alright, but service was HORRIBLE. When we first went in, I asked him if we could place our order very nicely, and he shouted at me, rudely telling me that someone else was going to take our order. Then, when there was a misunderstanding about the change the other guy had given us, the same guy that had raised his voice shouted at us again, going on and on for about 5 minutes about how they didn’t accept €100 bills, so they wouldn’t have given the wrong change. He yelled at us profusely, when it could’ve been settled in a cordial and respectful way. Customer service was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. DONT GO THERE!!!

First off, it's unhygenic, the dude who makes the food has a massive beard without a hair net, nice, beardhair in your food. Looking behind the counter, it didn't look clean either. Secondly, you pay 7.50 for a regular pita but then you have to assemble it yourself... Server was rude and impolite, highly do NOT recommend going here. There are plenty of better options 3 mins walking from there.

Hi, we bought a total of four kebabs between yesterday and today (€7.50 for the medium one) and filled them to our liking. The kebab sandwich is small but, since you can fill it all up with vegetables (very fresh and tasty) and falafel, once bought you will struggle to finish it! Really very good, I recommend it wholeheartedly. The place is small and very hot (after all, it's a kebab shop!) but the price for what you eat is excellent for being in the center of Amsterdam.

cheap and great because you can make the pitas yourself, just steer clear of the red sauce if you can't handle the spiciness, it will burn your soul 🔥

You get a little more than you expect. The falafel, bread and sauces taste very good. I also think it's a good concept that you can fill up your own vegetables. The staff is listless and rather unfriendly, but I don't expect more from a snack bar.

The best falafel in Amsterdam for a long time.

Delicious pita with Falafel. The salads with sauces are especially delicious. The atmosphere is fluorescent lighting. But the food remains just as tasty. The staff, well, Amsterdam in 2024 has no Dutch-speaking staff. Sad and irritating. Of course the staff can't do anything about that.

I really hope this place becomes a chain in the uk, you don't have to be vegan to appreciate a monster falafel wrap.

A falafel buffet with an Israeli owner. Delicious falafel and salads are free but open to everyone. The price is high and the place is dirty and unclean.

Been already quite a few times, it's a Maoz so if you've been in another store you know the menu and the food quality will be pretty much the same: Which is great taste and affordable. This particualr location It's not the coziest to eat in, there are some stools but not that much space, better to get it and eat it near the canals if the weather is good. Staff is also not the friendliest. Wouldn't say rude, but not with many smiles or patience.

Very goof falafel place on a very busy intersection. Cheap.

Tasty and well-filled pita that you can supplement yourself (several times!) with vegetables, salad and sauces. Fries were okay, shawarma well seasoned and falafel crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Quick service. It's a cramped place and there are few seats, so it's better to take your food with you.

They mixed the olives with pit and i broke my teeth because of them. They reacted so rude just saying "green ones are without pit but black ones are with" What kind of explanation and excuse it is?? Why you're not saying openly or writing that there's PIT on the olives?? I don't recommend at all

Very affordable, vegan, middle eastern Falafel Bowl. Generous amount of vegetables, salads and sauces. Right next to the channel, the place offers a filling Lunch during your sightseeing day. You can enjoy your bowl next to the channel in a beautiful architectural scene.

We've been enjoying Maoz's falafels as a snack ever since the first time we visited Amsterdam several decades ago. The place serves great falafels - I had mine in pita (with loads of extras_ and m wife had the salad. Both were very filling. .

Good fast food for vegan and vegetarian. Salad bowl by own choice is satisfying

Of all the hundreds of falafel stands in Amsterdam, this is one of them. Can you find better falafel? Yes. Can you find unfriendlier service? Hard to say.

Probably the best €7.50 I've spent of food in Europe so far. The salad bowl was a generous size, and with the falafel on top it really became a proper sized meal, great value too. Being self-service there are especially unlimited options as to what kind of meal you will create I'd eat here frequently if I lived locally. I am not too fond of the disposal bowl and fork while eating in.

absolutely EXCELLENT falafel with lots of condiment choices and great value for money. you can stuff your pita full of all the fresh vegetables, hummus and such you want. open late too! I am a happy returning customer. seating is somewhat limited but there is usually a spot free still as most people get takeout!

Definitely a great falafel, over the dozens falafel places I've been in different countries I would say this one goes in my Top 3. Plenty of choices for the toppings of the Falafel, kind people taking care of the shop and nicely placed in the center of the city.

This place is super cool. I went there during the night, on my way home. I was literally blown away, by being able to go to a vegan establishment after a night out. I was not used to that anymore and it felt so good 👍 Definitely worth paying it a visit 🤩

I had the regular meal deal for ~14€ Which means Falafel, fries, and a softdrink +the view wasn't spectacular, but it was my highlight to be able to sit on the sidewalk and watch the city +fries tasted good +I can create my own kebab. I get bread, falafel, and a tiny bit of green salad beforehand The owners aren't communicative. At first, I didn't realize I was supposed to put my food together on my own (although it is quite obvious) -Kebab was really small - I didn't like any of the sauces provided The price is okay for amsterdam, but I could have gotten something much much better for 14€

Petit restaurant proposant des pitas avec des falafels, et légumes aux choix. Le personnel va vous donner la pita avec directement les falafels, et ça sera à vous d’y mettre vos légumes et votre sauce. Le prix est plutôt correct pour manger sur Amsterdam. Les falafels sont juste excellents, je vous conseille la sauce à l’ail pour les accompagner.

Great for a quick and healthy bite in the heart of amsterdam. I always chose the falafel pita, which comes with 5 falafels and which one can refill for free twice at the counter with fresh vegetables, sauces and other toppings of your choice. Only complaint is that i find some of the toppings a bit too salty. The price is very affordable for amsterdam and its a great value for a lunch snack.

Super aardige mensen! Wij komen hier al heel lang om een broodje falafel en friet te eten. Het is vaak wat drukker. Het eten is echt heerlijk en het is ook vullend.

I'm not a vegetarian but love a good falafel and first discovered this chain in Barcelona many years ago and was happy to find it in Amsterdam. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 is because the service was a little bit gruff and the layout was a little challenging with the topings bar being also where people placed their order and picked up their food, which made it challenging to get to the toppings with having to compete for space with those waiting to order and those waiting to be handed their falafel. All in all still good and I will definitely return.
