Vegan Junk Food Bar in Grachtengordel-Zuid

At 7pm, three of the dishes we wanted to eat were already sold out, so we had to choose something else. There was also an error when taking the order, not all staff are equally friendly. The food is also quite expensive for reasonably small portions. I also think six euros for a lukewarm, very small pint is very expensive. It is also unfortunate for a vegan restaurant that the food is served in disposable containers. But all in all it must be said that the food was very tasty, very original presented and served very quickly!

Excellent experience, everything delicious, friendly and helpful staff, he even offered me two beers and a dessert when he found out it was my birthday 🔝. I also recommend it to non-vegans.

Food: we had the tasting platter that had a range of the starter/share dishes on it, chips and a burger. The tasting plate was quite good, the texture of all the dishes emulated their meat counterparts very well! The flavours were also good. The burgers were nice, but a little bland for me. The sauces that came with the tasting platter were good, but the blue one threw me off a bit - it’s a bit gimmicky. Overall the food was good and I enjoyed my dinner here. I would return for another meal and would recommend this to vegans. Service was good, the wait staff were attentive and worked efficiently. Environment was nice, the outdoor area has heating and the toilets were clean.

The food here is fantastic if you’re in the mood for something deep fried! The sauces are a bit whack though. Wouldn’t recommend the rainbow sauces. It was a bit quiet when I went for dinner (7:30pm on a Saturday). So the vibe was a bit off. I like the general aesthetic of the interior though, with the colourful painted walls etc.

Nothing special, you take regular Beyond meet and that’s it. Vegan does not have to be boring, it can have flavors. The only thing that I liked was cheese sauce. Burger is too simple, boring and not worth the hype.

Really slow service which is strange for central Amsterdam. The sandwiches average. Almost no flavour. What a pity. The place is very nice and also the visual idea.

Amazing burgers. Notorious sumo is flavourful. Buns are quite special too. The platter provided a good variety of items with colourful sauces. shrimpz is good and fly wingz is my favourite, which is made of dee fried chewy bean curd. Lemonade tastes better than Kambucha here.

Awesome (VEGAN) food! The selection was great. The food was very tasty. Prices absolutely reasonable. The restaurant was also a real eye-catcher visually. Pink menu. Even the burgers were sometimes pink or black. The location is also great. The restaurant is located on a side street close to the action. So that you are not isolated, but can still eat comfortably and in peace without the hustle and bustle. The employees were also very nice and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Completely satisfied! It would be nice if you could buy garlic mayo (pink garlic) in a tube to take home in the future. It is so extremely delicious!! :-D

I'm a vegetarian and have never been much of a burger fan anyway. Looking for a delicious dinner without the need for a reservation, we ended up here on a Tuesday evening in early September. It was definitely worth it. I simply asked the people at the next table what they could recommend. The Cruelty Free Burger and Nachos are definitely recommended! Juicy patty, brightly colored bun, enough greens. What's actually stupid is that the burger comes with fries, but you have to pay extra for each sauce. This is a difficult concept and illogical. Positive extra: The (women's) toilets are clean and in good condition

You have to pay 1.25 euros for a tiny bit of sauce for your fries, not even ketchup is free. Burgers are ok but not worth the price.

Completely excessive price for the food. It's impossible that the restaurant offers Cesar's salad and you don't get any vinegar or oil when you ask, because the salad only consists of green lettuce with a few cheese crumbs with extremely little dressing. The sweet potato fries are also very expensive for the small portion and the ketchup costs €1 separately, and the mayo costs even more. Pure rip-off - there are so many good places in Amsterdam that we can recommend - this is not one of them!!!

The food was delicious, but I have something to complain about about the atmosphere and the staff. The waiter seemed impatient as I described my order. When I looked around I also noticed that he wasn't smiling in a friendly way. When I finished eating, I tried for about twenty minutes to draw attention to myself that I wanted to pay, but neither of the two waiters ever seemed to look around to see if something was wrong or who wanted to pay. So the wait was too stupid for me, so I decided to go to the counter and let them know (by the way, I saw how others had paid at the table, so it's not usual to go to the counter). Despite the fact that the corner is beautiful, there was a lot going on there. Passers-by constantly walked past me with little distance between them.

Sin gluten y vegano es un reto y el menú sin gluten aquí parece pequeño, pero la comida era tan buena - aunque me decepcionó un poco que no había opciones de hamburguesas GF el shawarma que tenía era delicioso. Yo también tenía nachos que estaban muy bien hechos con un montón de coberturas entre las capas de patatas fritas. Algunas de las reseñas en aquí mencionan el servicio, para nosotros el servicio fue genial - eficiente y conocedor y feliz de soportar hacer preguntas en inglés. Creo que a veces los viajeros no entienden que los camareros europeos no buscan propinas. Sin duda recomiendo y sin duda volvería.

Food was amazing! We loved it. 🥰 The tables are a bit small, though, which is why I ended up knocking over my friend's ice coffee. However, I understand that such a popular location can't offer huge tables.

Very cool vegan burger place in the center of Amsterdam. Burger was really good, fries classic but didn't taste the vodka in the cocktail. The purple garlic sauce is a must-try!

Delicious, beautiful, excellent price for the quantity and quality of food we ate. We got the VGK Smash, VGK Beastie, VGK Kroquette and VGK Fizz. Very good. The delicious dessert was the Tropical Buba.

I cant argue about food bcoz it was very good ,, however the fact employees at this place are so unpleasnt , ignorant , exhausted.. while waiting in que they pass by and never say a word! The waiting time was fine and then another 30 to 40 mints waiting for food !!! I mean I dono whay it takes to smile or atleast say a word ! And yes I am sorry but I find the food expensive !

Lots of choice of dishes, all 100% vegan. We tried the mixed starters: unusual but good things! The only flaw: there are no napkins or handkerchiefs

I had the loadef fries "no bones" and it was okay, not something I would order again but doable. My friends had the hair salon and a burger, which were a lot better. I do think that the price/quality ratio is very skewed. The portions are quite small and therefore not really super, but you do pay at least €14 for a person, without drinks. Unfortunately the service wasn't great either, we were treated quite curtly and the waiting time was also quite long.

Best Vegan burger I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious food, friendly staff, plenty of seating, it was a beautiful day so we opted to eat outside. Luckily there are plenty of vegan options in Amsterdam but this place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I visited the Vegan Junk Food Bar and was disappointed. The burger lacked flavor and the colored buns made them taste dry. Additionally, the service was slow, likely due to insufficient staff. Overall, I expected more from a place known for its vegan offerings. I hope they improve these aspects in the future.

We were there with 11 people on the last weekend in July. Otherwise it wasn't very crowded. The food was really, really tasty, but you have to buy an extra sauce for the fries; four people forgot something or did something wrong when ordering. In addition, the service was not good, even when we, as a group of friends, understandably wanted to pay individually and not one for 11 people together, when we asked about it, they reacted very harshly and replied sloppily that they probably wouldn't do that with 11 people. There would have been time, it wasn't stressful.

It is very tasty food and I say that as a non-vegan. Extensive and creative menu with a beautiful appearance. If there are two or three people, I definitely recommend the Sumo Platter, a selection of snacks with different sauces.

Really great option for vegans looking for junk food. Different variations of everything they offer available and great presentation!

Food isn't bad, but the colour choices are what put me off. Had the shawarma burger and the nauseating pink hue of the bun and the sauce made me genuinely sick. It was diabolical. I also had the kalamari rings and explain to me why the sauce is purple, like it doesn't even taste bad but the colour made me feel genuine grief. Also the menu is at times, indecipherable because everything is so hip and cool.

Food was very good. Make sure you have (plenty of) time when you go there, there's a reason it is called "junk food" and not "FAST food" bar ;)

Amazing, one of my favorite vegan places. The food is absurdly good (must be, as vegan places have to fight for survival in a meat eating world). It's a little expensive but totally worth it for what you get.

One of the best vegan places I have been. Delicious burgers with plenty of options from 'chicken' to 'beef' to 'fish' . I had the beastie Schwarma burger and not only was it amazing it was innovative with a pomegranate, jalapeno, and green onion a sweet and spicy spectacular meal. With a pink bun and some blue mayo on the side they blend the queer aesthetic of the neighborhood in without compromise.

Great atmosphere and food! I had the classic vegan bitterballen with a side of sweet potato fries. It was a lot to finish for one person. Super tasty - really enjoyed the balls! Heaps of outdoor and indoor seating (2 floors) with RnB music playing.

The food was very tasty and the selection was also very good. It should perhaps be considered that you serve sauce with fries and perhaps nothing with other dishes that already have sauce. The service was very bad, but friendly. -Too many serve one and don't know what the other is doing -forgot that you ordered something -take a very long time for drinks -unsafe demeanor when dealing with customers and when serving Unfortunately, the benches we sat on weren't that comfortable. Overall, it was a good stay that still has a lot of potential for improvement thanks to the service and convenient seating. I'll probably come back anyway.

The service needs significant improvement. I visited yesterday, July 12th, and observed that there were three staff members serving. One of them appeared visibly unhappy and made no effort to hide it. We were ignored when waiting to be seated, again when trying to place our order, and finally encountered a negative attitude when requesting the bill. After paying, I realized I had been overcharged by €10. However, the food was amazing—high quality and delicious.

The burgers were not nice nor tasty, just an awful experience.. One burger with NO sauce and the other burger was like a swimming pool of sauce and with very little chicken... You definitely should learn how to make a proper burger.. Besides the staff was not polite enough to make an excuse for making it look like vomit and for me wanted to vomit either..…

A disappointment. Didn’t want to spend a lot on a burger so I got the iconic rainbow fries think it would be enough and it wasn’t anything more than sad vegan chicken and bacon, fries and mayo (the rainbow sauces was just different colors of mayo). Not much freshness or bright flavors and didn’t taste like it was made with love. Got the Peanut Butter Chocolate dessert which wasn’t bad but it was very light and portion small so that was short lived. They may have been understaffed while I was there which led to my food taking 30+ min to arrive. It’s a shame, their burgers looked good but I won’t have a chance to try them. Plenty of other (non)vegan places that will serve you better vegan food

I had the “loaded fries no bones” and it was super tasty. Maybe we'll stop by again! Staff was very friendly and attentive. We went here again and had the burgers. It was again excellent vegan fast food. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.

Damn cocktail! If you are cocktail girl just try tipsy unicorn. The veggie food was good as well. But the service was bad. They made us wait for 30 minutes where there was no customer.

A very interesting fast food shop in the middle of Amsterdam. Very nice staff. The map is manageable but sufficient. As the name suggests: junk food. We were very satisfied. The in-house ipa beer is also very tasty.

I was visiting Amsterdam with some friends, some of who happen to be vegan. With that in mind we decided this would be a great place to check out. What’s important is that I have sesame and nut allergies, and this was made clear to the service staff upon arrival. When I asked for an allergy menu, I was told they’d go grab it, but then we waited over 15 minutes before someone came to take our order, only to find out I still needed the allergy menu. The server who finally brought the menu said that everything on the menu could have traces of peanuts because it is all done in a shared fryer. This is perfectly normal and I was not upset by this. I am also told there are no unseeded buns for burgers. I am then told by a different server that there was no risk of cross contamination in the food. So who do I believe? I’m the end I had a mixed fries, which just wasn’t very good. Oh, and the person across from me had an unseeded burger bun

Fun atmosphere, very kind and smiling waiters. The sharing plate we ordered was colorful and tasty, the chocolate mousse was a little bit of disappointment. We really wanted to try more dishes :-) but weren’t hungry enough.

Loved this restaurant so much. The choice of vegan food was amazing and everything we ate tasted incredible. We got the black pink burger that came with their homemade burger sauce which eas delicious. We also got mac and cheese bites that came with a sauce. And we paid for additional sauces which included the pink garlic sauce. Would absolutely recommend trying here.

Sadly I didn’t get the chance to eat here as the servers didn’t care to assist me. Waited to be seated and one of the servers told me to grab a menu and sit anywhere. Well, I did… for over 10 mins with no one coming up to me to even ask if I wanted something to drink. In this time span, I saw 3 other groups be seated AND serviced before me by 2-3 different servers! Even the guy who initially told me to sit anywhere didn’t come by. Clearly, they weren’t interested in serving me so I got up and left. It isn’t my job, as a customer, to tell u how to manage your customers and in what order to assist them. They likely still don’t even realize I had left or that someone was even sitting there.

Average food. No comfortable indoor seating, I don't want to sit on a broken barstool at a high table, and it's hot outside. Waitress was rude to me when I asked for another dessert instead of the peanut butter one, which didn't have any peanut butter flavor in it at all.

As a hardcore carnivore, I let myself go out of the box by entering here. An insanely large card with small letters, a run-down appearance inside and the service.... The ladies in question were friendly, but that really said it all. The bitterballen were surprisingly tasty, but a portion of bitterballen and 2 soft drinks for 15 eu.... spicy, but that's probably because I'm not a Westerner. 😁

I went to a vegan restaurant for the first time and I must honestly admit that I really enjoyed it. Never once did I feel like I was missing meat. And if I didn't know any better, their substitute for chicken (crunchy fly wings) was actually chicken. The food looks very nice with bright colors. Different from what you are used to, which makes for a unique experience. Keep in mind that it is often busy here and that you sometimes have to wait in line before you can get a table. That is a downside. On the night we were there there were only 2 waitresses working. There were enough free tables, but people still had to wait outside. I suspect that otherwise it would be too much work for the waitresses if they had to serve more tables.

If you go…get the nachos! Maybe a shake and fries too, you won’t be disappointed! We went twice. The restaurant felt very “instagramable”, which is to say, it’s cute, lots of pink and well branded.

Good burger and fries, beer was decent, on one of the main queer strips, so felt very comfortable and at home. Price was fair too.

A location that takes you back to the 90s with its graffiti and street style, but which is also very contemporary and typical of a cutting-edge city like this, with its black&pink look. Friendly and professional staff. Completely Vegan place, therefore with food free from animal exploitation, as well as being a priority today it is also nice to know that what you eat does not cause harm to anyone. I got the Cruelty free burger and it's really super! All good, I recommend it without any doubt.

We came across this restaurant by chance. Pure happiness! I recommend with my eyes closed!
