I ate a variety of dishes here, and they were all handmade, fresh, and original, and I was able to eat delicious sushi that I had never tasted before! I especially loved the salmon roll, fried shrimp roll, and shrimp tempura roll and went there many times! This is a recommended restaurant that not only has sushi but also other delicious dishes!

Waitress got very upset that we found hair in sushi and dared to complain about it. She then became so offensive, that the group of youth I was with started to get scared. When I tried to calm the mood towards the youth in our native language, she came back and lectured us that we should speak Duch. After that she kicked us out. Newer in my life have I witnessed such behaviour in a restaurant. This was the first night of the youths trip to Amsterdam and they were really shaken by the experience. It’s a shame as the sushi in this place is decent. Safe to say that we will newer be back.

Friendly staff, nice food, but overpriced for the portion.

The food is incredible and the service is beyond! Someone heard my chopsticks fall and came to replace them without me saying a word. Every dish we had was delicious. We will be back!

The food was delicious! The Gyoza's and tempura roll were especially tasty. The tori karaage was also very tasty, but very small. The atmosphere was cozy & cozy, but the lighting could be a little less bright. But, Maru is definitely recommended!

Truly amazing dishes, everything tasted so fresh! We ordered the takaoge, gyozas, salmon hot dish, beef-asparagus hot dish, the salmon tacos, California sushi and ebi fry sushi. I mean it when I say every single dish was incredibly tasty. The only single downside is that for the hot dishes, the portion sizes are quite small for the price.

Food was amazing, would highly recommend the salmon sashimi with ponzu sauce. They only serve fresh wasabi. It’s a wonderful hidden gem. Definitely going back frequently.

Excellent food and very kind staff. A sure addition to the neighborhood where lower quality sushi seems the norm. The tuna was high quality. Fresh wasabi, which is hard to come by. All set in a friendly ‘south-ish’ corner shop.

Hands-down the best sushi place in Oud-Zuid. Espcially love dining here during summer when tables are set outside.

We’re regulars and love the food. We usually go for lunch but tonight we got very subpar service - perhaps a relatively new member of staff that needs some hospitality training?

The sushi was amazing, the best sushi my sister an I ever had, and the service very friendly! The sanitary area was a little small but clean. Absolutly recomend!

Delicious kakiage, but the real star of the dish was the fried rice - brought me right back to nights in Shinjuku.

Having lived in and visited some of the world's best sushi cities, my standard for sushi is unfortunately high. Maru, across dozens of visits, has met this standard. The quality of food and preparation is high and I've enjoyed each and every dish from the tunalicious "speedy roll" to the crispy yet delicate chicken dumplings. As an alternative (or supplement) to sushi the asparagus wrapped in beef is delicious.

Salmon was absolutely incredible! Super fresh. Gyoza was also perfect. Beware the plates come out at different rates (20/30mins in between plates) so I would recommend sharing so you don’t have to all eat at different times.

Best Japanese cuisine in Netherlands. Excellent service from the waitress. Not only was she able to efficiently take our order of 10 pax, but also advised us when we had duplicate orders. The tacos was definitely the highlight on the menu. Every variation of the taco was delicious and the salmon was very fresh. The rolls and gyoza was also exceptional. 10/10 would recommend, definitely coming back agai when I have the chance.

Excellent & high quality Japanese food in an Europe country. In fact one of the better, if not the best, that I've came across after travelling over 5 different countries during my current trip.

This place is such a hidden gem that everyone should try instead of the other “fake sushi”. The passion of chef is really spread in every single dishes and the quality of the fish is really 100/10. Last but not least, the service was really perfect. Marie is such a genuine, positive and professional lady that every owners of restaurant should be jealous of. Poor value for money. We paid 125 euros for a family of four including girls of 6 and 10, drinking only water and one coffee, and sharing two deserts. That’s very expensive for a neighborhood restaurant. The quality of the food wasn’t good, so we won’t be returning.

Top quality sushi, authentic and prepared with attention. This also makes it a bit more pricey than usual, but you get quality for it.

One of the best sushi restaurants I've been to outside of Japan. Was shocked when they had real wasabi. Fish was fresh and everything tasted great. Service was also fantastic, will visit again next time I'm in Amsterdam.

Food is ok but it is just so slow. Waiting for one hour for sushi is unacceptable. And I don't understand why people coming way after us gets food before us.

For me this is the best Japanese kitchen I’ve been to in Amsterdam. The food is fresh, many of the ingredients are really from Japan. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is always peaceful. I really recommend this lovely place, so happy that I randomly discovered it!

Might be the best sushi I’ve ever had. Ordered the Speedy Roll and the 10pc Nigiri set. Each piece was like traveling through a brand new experience. The White Sesame ice cream is amazing - a must try. Our server recommended the Night Emperor sake, which was a perfect pairing with the roll and nigiri. I would come here all the time if I lived nearby. 🥲

We have celebrated both our friends bday. We had the recommendations of taco. Those were delicious. We had also the tempura, takoage, chicken gyoza and the amazing takoyaki. These were excellent! The urimaki rolls were also very tasty. The 'im cooking' was a definite winner. Second runner up Speedy roll. Arigato gozaimasu Maru!

I order some octopus balls, and the octopus was so hard that I couldn’t eat it. The quality of the sushi was not great either and expensive.

This restaurant offers great food in high quality and taste. It was a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam as we have rarely eaten such good Sushi and Co somewhere else. The stuff is friendly, service is perfect and even the music is nice. Thank you!
