McDonald's in Omval/Overamstel

I walk in and the smell that hit my face was absolutely awful. It was like a garbage truck, didn’t even want to order. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Potential rats in kitchen.

I wanted to order, but there was no one there. So I went to the second window and heard some shouting. Then the very rude man who was supposed to be ordering from arrived. This Moroccan guy with a dirty, stringy beard was extremely rude and unfriendly. I won't be going there again.

We went through the McDonald's drive-thru and were initially helped very pleasantly by a man with orange hair and cool tattoos. When we picked up our food, we immediately noticed we'd gotten the wrong item, so it was quickly replaced. We then went to eat it in the parking lot, and the McDonald's wasn't even half full and literally had a single piece of Oreo in it. We were also missing mayo and a portion of chicken nuggets. We had to go inside to report it, and then we had to wait a very long time before being helped. The manager was called, but he didn't say anything to us. He did fix it, but the employee said it was fine and that we were being dramatic. We didn't get an apology.

It's obvious that the employees and management hate working here. Avoid this place.

We went to this McDonald's one evening after a trip. First, we found ourselves stuck in the middle of the drive-thru while looking for a parking space. Anyway, it was our fault (luckily there were only two cars in front of us)...the friendly employee at the drive-thru then told us we had to drive through the barrier next to the McDonald's and could park for free for one hour. After ordering at the vending machine, we looked for a spot. It was very empty, but almost every table was still smeared and dirty. When the food was ready, we picked it up at the front. The sauce was missing, so we went back for more... But... we had specially ordered Happy Meals with toys (our kids can't stand books in Dutch). So... what was there? Books in Dutch!! At the front, they just said "Sorry." That was it...no toys, no alternative... Not recommended!! Oh, and the restroom is also absolutely disgusting! Super disgusting!

I've never had such dry and stale chicken nuggets. They just weren't tasty anymore. And the cheeseburger was also old, not warm, and the bread had gotten tough. Plus, the manager wouldn't give me the tea bag separately 🥲. McDonald's is almost always good in my opinion, but here they just didn't make an effort. Such a shame!

I had ordered food and on my way home I discovered I was missing an item. A week later, the manager named Wilson resolved this for me.

The place is dirty and food was not nice

Once and never again! It starts with having to drive into a paid parking lot. At the entrance, it says the first 60 minutes are free. That would have been fine under normal circumstances. Unfortunately, it didn't say that you have to wait 40 minutes for the food. I also don't understand why they prepare the ice cream before all the other food, so you get the ice cream in liquid form. Upon exiting, you had to pay €2 at the barrier, which was absolutely cheeky, but unfortunately, the card reader didn't work and you couldn't pay in cash. After a few unsuccessful attempts, the "fun" cost €4. And that was at 12 o'clock at night, when you've just come from a concert and still have a two-hour drive home ahead of you. When I asked the employees, the only answer was: we can't open the barrier either. Call the number listed there. We did, but no one was available. It took us almost another hour to leave that parking lot, with inedible food and liquid ice cream. Never again!

I waited almost 50 minutes from ordering to receiving my burger meal. I've never experienced anything like this at McDonald's before.

I tolerated the rudeness and mistakes in my order, but now they pick up the dropped fries and put them back into the order. 🤢

We got nothing even after begging from the staff

In short, it was a disaster. The inside was a mess, garbage was spilling out of the bin, leftovers were lying on the tables, and the staff seemed unwilling to change it. Chaos when taking orders. The best part of the food was the fries, which, let's be honest, are hard to mess up. The tortilla was probably 20 years old because it was dry and hard as a chip, and the whole wrap wasn't eaten in its entirety. The Spicy McNuggets weren't even close to being spicy. The burger was just as weak as the rest, though edible, if you insist. I strongly advise against it!

I don’t know, I’m uber guy that’s why this kind of behavior or McDonald’s recruit this type of employee.

The positive thing about this restaurant is that it was neat and clean, with plenty of seating. However, the staff seemed disinterested and chaotic. They use a number system, but the numbers are given out randomly, meaning that guests who ordered after me got their food first. Furthermore, food was ready to be served, but instead of serving it immediately, an employee helped guests at the cash register first. This caused my food and that of other guests to get unnecessarily cold.

We went inside to order at 12:40 a.m. on a Saturday night, even though the place says it closes at 3:00 a.m. There were still people eating inside, but they refused to serve us, saying the register was already closed. If the kitchen or service ends earlier, it should be clearly stated.

With the Canta, along with a friend, we were craving ice cream again. So we saw McDonald's and decided to get it. We both had the crackling sundae... We were disappointed; it was too sweet for us, but if you have a sweet tooth, it's worth a try!

Everything in the picture of the food has to be visualized. It really can't be called food.

I was here for breakfast and was not disappointed. Everything was as expected, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sigh. Another McDonald's where you have to check your order before leaving, because they forget things here too. Ordered 3 portions of fries, received 2. Luckily, it only cost 4.25 per portion...annoying. Otherwise, it was a great location. The food was good and freshly prepared. I ordered takeout, but they have a nice outdoor area where you can eat. The staff didn't really speak Dutch, but that's become normal in the capital, of course.

I've been to many branches in the Netherlands, but this one takes the cake. Incredibly rude staff, with the manager being the rudest. On top of that, the order was wrong. A complete disaster!!!

I often go to the drive-thru here, and usually everything goes smoothly. Yesterday, July 28, 2025, around 8:30 PM, I was waiting to place my order at the kiosk. It was quiet at the kiosk, not even a "please wait a moment." After a few minutes, I drove to the first window. There, the person told me to wait at the kiosk and place my order there. I told him I'd waited at the kiosk but hadn't heard anything, so I drove to the first window. He said I couldn't place my order at the kiosk where he was and I had to circle back to the kiosk. So I did, but by then there were already several cars in line. Finally, I got back to the kiosk to place my order, and they told me there was a malfunction with the ATM and only cash payments were accepted. So I drove through the drive-thru again, but to no avail. I ended up going to their competitor (KFC) and getting some food there.

At the McDonald's drive-thru, a male employee asked me why I was kissing my dog, and that it was disgusting. Very polite, just keep your opinions to yourself when you're working.

Soft ice cream was not tapped well

Extremely dirty restrooms, tons of trash, and little thorough cleaning. You'd expect better standards from McDonald's.

The manager was incredibly rude. They charge higher prices and then call it policy. The manager was angry and curt. For days, I was completely out of touch.

Adhanon refused to take out order at 11:49 when we were already in the building and he told us they were closed and they supposedly couldn’t take orders anymore. Big line behind us as well. They told us to get in line at the drive-through, were we waited for almost an hour to get our order. Weird that google also says that they are open until 3:00 when they apparently close at 00:00

The attitude of the employes is wild, the don't care or want to help u, never again

A wrap for €9, and we were extremely disappointed. It was actually just the wheat wrap itself plus the "meat" pad with chili sauce, no lettuce, tomatoes, or anything like that. The burger was also so overdone that it was almost impossible to remove from the box without getting it all over you.

For takeaway they didnt put the drink stabilizer so all my food is waste. The worst service ever . No communication , no job ethics

If you specifically ask for a plant-based burger, and it is asked and confirmed, then you can expect a McDonald's to give you a dish that is actually plant-based - if only because we are talking about allergens here. Luckily, we checked the website when we got home.

The worst experience in years. It was all a chaotic situation, 40 minutes to receive my order. There was an ice cream for 10 minutes melting til it went to the bin. The drinks are served before the food is out, so all the ice was melted. Horrible

They still make a lot of mistakes at this mcdonalds. This time cheeseburger without cheese. So far almost never got an order without mistakes. They also hardly speak Dutch at the counter which makes communication more difficult.

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to file a complaint about my experience at McDonald’s Spaklerweg in Amsterdam on June 15, 2025 around 5:00 PM. My order number was 3055. To my surprise, I saw that guests with higher order numbers, such as 3064, were helped first, while I had to wait more than 20 minutes for my order. After I noticed that my order was taking an unusually long time, I walked over to one of the floor managers to politely inquire about the status of my order. To my great surprise and disappointment, the floor manager responded extremely rudely. To my friendly question "Excuse me, sir?" he replied very curtly and unfriendly with: "What do you want?!". I indicated that I had already been waiting for my order for 15 minutes, to which he said annoyed: "Coming soon!". He then took my receipt, walked over to the staff and said something to a colleague, who then started laughing. When the floor manager returned and I indicated that I wanted to file a complaint about his behavior, he reacted angrily again and said: "Go ahead, I don't care." I was with my 18-year-old son and my wife during this incident, both of whom fully experienced this incident. The behavior of this floor manager, a gentleman with a Somali appearance (the other floor manager, a Dutch man in a white shirt, was not), was far from customer-friendly and absolutely not in line with the service one would expect from an internationally renowned company such as McDonald's. As someone with years of experience in customer service, I know how important respectful and professional communication is - especially in situations where a customer has had to wait for a long time. The behavior of this employee was not only unprofessional, but also made me feel completely disregarded as a customer. I kindly but urgently request that you take this situation seriously, investigate the incident and take appropriate action. They are really suffering from a staff shortage

Very shocked by how the staff was going about it. I didn't see the microphone where you could order. I thought maybe the microphone was broken and drove on to the next window. To my great surprise the employee started going on and shouting that he was talking into the microphone and I was ignoring him. Apparently the microphone was somewhere in the bushes. I stayed calm and asked if I could still order at the window. Whereupon he slammed the window shut...

As a customer I have seen how the manager treats his staff. This is not great, he tries to intimidate them. Furthermore, they push orders through so that they can make the time. This causes confusion. So in short: Manager is weird to the staff, they mess with their numbers and they forget half of your order (that manager is a complete idiot)

3 very bad and stupid staff who look past you

This evening I visited this restaurant to enjoy a Mc Flurry in peace. After ordering, I had to wait 15 minutes for my ice cream, which was handed to me in an unfriendly manner. After I started eating I was sent out by extremely unfriendly and incomprehensible staff. This inconvenience could have been avoided with faster service. Furthermore, it is an absolute disgrace to treat customers like this.

Even one star is waste. I want to make it zero star. A guy who is working here said it’s closed now and I couldn’t understand what he said. And just because I didn’t get it, he made an SUPER annoyed face. He was looking at me as I’m freaking stupid. I was very confused and embarrassed. Is his job making his customers mad?? I don’t think he can work here because he is so rude. Also, I ordered McFlurry and it was with HOT CHOCOLATE SAUCE? So the ice cream got melted right away. And the amount was way smaller than other McDonald’s. Very disappointing.

food took 30 minutes to get. I only ordered one frappe, one cola and 20 piece chicken nuggets. Frappe tasted like whipped cream with caramel sauce and nuggets were too cold.

I was surprised by the speed with which I received my coffee, and by the price: 1 euro for a good cup of coffee.

Always busy; tables are not cleaned, waste bins are overflowing, toilet dispensers are often empty. In short: not a clean hygienic location of the Mac.

This is one of the worst McDonalds branches I have ever visited. Cheap, rude staff who often don't speak the language, and he was difficult about my order (unclear what), a Mc is you say what you want and they arrange it, but not here, something about 2 colas on the same receipt. Brought in a Dutch-speaking manager, but like other employees, he just babbles. Bad atmosphere, sweaty tent with a lot of shouting and little space for all the people. And less tasty burgers than the other Mc's I go to. Well, Amsterdam... all style and concern for service & food disappears there, just like in the city as a whole. Next time McDonalds in Amsterdam if we happen to be in the area? No, just make an extra detour to, for example, the one in Amstelveen.
