Oh my goshhhh this place was DELICIOUS! Such a gorgeous range of dishes, some of those flavours will be on my mind for several years, and the service / general vibes were top notch. Absolutely recommend! Felt like a luxury experience for a super reasonable price!

The best vegan ramen place i have ever had. We did a 6 course meal. Super tasty and used a lot of plant based ingredients to elevate the dishes. I loved the tempura. Mushroom and mochi. Creamy ramen was little heavier on a 6 course meal. But everything was thoughtfully done. I was pleasantly surprised and that tofu was minimally used as opposed to other vegan ramen places i have had.

Very nice multi-course Japanese inspired vegan meal. Some of the flavors were a bit muted, but the black garlic Amaze-men is worth the trip. Also recommend the Sake pairings. Nice selection that paired well with all the dishes. Small place so reservations definitely recommended.

Edit: In my original review I have mentioned that it’s my favourite restaurant in NL. Sadly our recent experience has changed my opinion on it. It was me and my husband’s anniversary and he booked the ‘anniversary package’ as a surprise. Before the day of reservation, he got a WhatsApp message which indicated that we would get a little surprise, a card, and a bottle of wine. However, upon arrival, they only mentioned that we will have a bottle of wine. (Which is €40 on their menu card, and the price of the anniversary package is also €40 more expensive than the normal one) Until the end, we were waiting for ‘the little surprise’, but nothing happened. So we decided to just pay our bill and leave. We have asked the waitresses on the day, they have no idea about the messages we got via WhatsApp and they mentioned that normally they would make a Polaroid photo but they ran out of it… In the end we just canceled the package, because we don’t want to only get a bottle of wine which we actually need to pay the full price and nothing more. Also the flavour from their menu was not as good as our past experience. The Japanese tempura is supposed to be lightly and airy, but it was heavily floury coated and stale. And some of the dishes are way too salty. They offered us a discount for future visit because of the anniversary package didn’t go through. However, when we gave this review about flavour change to them directly, they didn’t reply it anymore. Anyway, it’s such ashamed that through the years of growing of this restaurant, the quality control also gets worse. The ramen deserves 5 stars: it was the best I've ever had in my life. Full of flavor, creamy and just the right amount of spice. The rest of the tasting menu, although very well thought out and executed, didn't impress me. The dessert was disappointing: the tofu ice cream only tasted like sugar and the matcha pudding had no distinctive flavor. I would go back just to eat the ramen again.

I don’t even know where to begin how to describe what an incredible experience and tastebud journey eating here was! This was my first time here so because it is a tasting menu every dish that was brought out was a sensory delight. The food was absolutely gorgeous in presentation as well as one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. Highly highly recommend this one if you visit Amsterdam!

We were there last night. There were four of us, and we loved it. The way they prepare everything is amazing, each ingredient is so flavorful, and you can taste it—the food is truly delicious. Of course, you'll have to come hungry because even though the portions may seem small, the ramen is filling and you'll leave feeling super full, which is something to be thankful for. It's a must-try if you're in the city. And the price is more than reasonable for the quality and experience they offer.

Hands down our favorite spot we ate at during our week in Amsterdam. The whole menu is plant-based and everything we tried was amazing—especially the cold starters and the ramen (some of the best we’ve ever had). Loved the big shared table vibe and the staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Everything was super tasty, balanced and the different textures and flavors of the food were perfect for me. The waitresses and chefs are very nice and attentive. All around it is a great (taste) experience. I also found the information cards very interesting and well designed. You can really tell that a lot of (vegetable) passion goes into everything!

The chef of the place, who happens also to be a WOMAN ( clap clap!) is a freaking GENIUS!!! The menu is amazing with rich flavours , the ramen is top ! And the dessert is super nice as well. Two people from our party are vegans and the other two aren’t (myself included) and every dish was a crowd pleaser. Great, calm environment with excellent service. It can be pretty warm inside so just keep that in mind when you get dressed. :)

We had an amazing 5-course meal with flavors that gradually built up and danced in my mouth. The sake was tasty, the staff super chill, and the chef was a highlight. Only the dessert was a bit of a miss for me, but that’s just because I’m not a big fan of matcha. Bonus points: I got to chat with the chef about bringing back the legendary champignon ramen from Kitchen Impossible—please make it happen! Still dreaming about that bowl.

It was our first time eating at Men Impossible, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. Having been to Japan several times, it’s not easy to be surprised by Japanese food outside of Japan. Our dinner at Men Impossible felt like being back at a Buddhist temple: with the flavors, the attention to detail, and the endless kindness. This definitely goes to the top of my list of restaurants in Amsterdam.

Walked in just after opening time and we were able to grab the two seats by the window. Seems to be a limited menu in that spot but that didn’t impact the quality of the food - best ramen we’ve ever eaten! Strongly recommend the burnt garlic amazemen (top right of menu) and the dumplings.

My favorite restaurant in Amsterdam! A bit pricey for my budget, but definitely my first choice for special occasions. You get a lot of food, so come hungry. I tried their ramen at another location in Amsterdam, which was quite nice. What I liked the most about this experience is that you get to try out so many different tastes and textures. It's like Japanese tapas. A lot of the dishes were very interesting, like potato mochi, freeze dried tofu or tofu ice cream. I am vegan, so this was heaven for me, however I know many non-vegan people that love this restaurant, so don't let the word vegan scare you.

Delicious flavors and so many different textures. Each dish was unique and made with care. This is the place for a special (vegan) dinner.

Sit back, relax and be surprised by a delicious menu and top service. Everyone was equally friendly and passionate. My experience here was outstanding in every way. The red chili dipping noodles/tan tan tsuke-men were one of the most delicious things I’ve had in a while, along with the fresh yuzu sake cocktail. The owner and kitchen team were delightful. I can’t recommend this special place enough. Make sure to enjoy a stroll through the neighbourhood afterwards!

Amazing. Service was excellent, they told us how it would work and what the dishes were. It was a set menu completely plant based although meat eaters will love it, the only choices you get are the main and any drinks you want. The food was superb and while i didnt love all the tasters it was so nice to try loads of cool dishes out. The main was great, tasty and filling and some of the best noodles ive ever had. The dessert was unique and satisfying after all that food. Highly recomend. Do book ahead and be aware its a set menu so be advised if you want to bring kids along.

Let me preface with this - I reaaaally try to stay away from hyperbole when writing reviews. It's important to paint an accurate picture so that any epicurious netizen that stumbles upon my words gets the proper guidance they want in making the right meal choice. With check averages for a nice night out easily swelling into the hundreds, you don't want to get puffed up with false hope and unjustified hype just to feel burned when you get the check. Now that we've set the table with a little context, I'll jump right to it. Men Impossible is one of the greatest Japanese food experiences I've ever had. As a fierce meat eater, the fact that everything was vegan had absolutely zero impact on how I enjoyed the meal. Did I miss the traditional seasoned egg with jammy egg yolk that usually sends me squealing like a stuck pig? Not even a smidge, which is utterly shocking for me. Everything about the meal was done to perfection. The welcome tea to prepare the palate, the succulent appetizer bites, the stunning tsukemen and sauced ramens - all fantastic. And while everything we ate was a hit, the noodles were unsurprisingly the highlight. The black garlic tsukemen was so incredibly savory and rich with great depths of flavor. Again, there was no handicap from the lack of animal being used - umami overfloweth here. With a 5 course tasting menu running around $50 each, I can say with zero doubt that Men Impossible has to top the city of Amsterdam (hell, let's say the world for that matter) when it comes to value for your money. Further, you can just tell they put their hearts and souls into their work here and that's just the kind of food love we need to support in this world. I am so glad we stumbled upon you, Men Impossible. While we won't be able to pop in for another visit until our next European jaunt, the delicious meal you made us will never be far from my mind.

Top tent! I had a birthday dinner here and even got flowers and a very cute decorated dessert. The service is great: everyone is very friendly, helpful and they really take the time for you. The food is great. Every bite really took me back to Japan, because the quality here is really very high. In addition, they prove that vegetarian ramen can be at least as good as ramen with meat. That was really the first time for me. Thanks for the nice evening!

Fantastic experience. The atmosphere immediately sets the tone for your evening. The staff are attentive and make an effort when serving you each course to talk you through each dish. A small establishment that proves there is still a chance in the war against chain food restaraunts.

We went to this restaurant quite randomly and it was a very nice surprise. We were warmly welcomed by the two cooks/waiters who were adorable. We didn't have a reservation so no room in the dining room, but we were able to sit facing the kitchen on the windowsill (the best place in our opinion). It was a first experience for us in a vegan restaurant and we loved it! At first bite, we were blown away by the flavors of the dishes. The ramen, whether garlic, pepper and truffle, was delicious. The noodles are fresh, the sauce excellent, the ingredients combine perfectly. Plus the presentation is so pretty. Bravo to the chefs and thank you to them!

This is a vegan restaurant and as a meet lover i was a bit skeptical. However the flavor of the food is just amazing!! It is not the common Ramen style you’d be used to, but a great experience. The staff is super friendly! It is usually fully booked and you might get lucky to get a free spot if you walk in however I would totally recommend to reserve

Definitely recommended! The food was very interesting and tasty. The vegan takoyaki tasted like real takoyaki, and I tasted a lot of new flavors that are surprisingly good (ever heard of caramel soja sauce?!). There was a big table in the middle of the room where me and my boyfriend sat with other customers. Honestly I preferred a two persons table, but this was also an interesting experience. The only thing that could be improved, are the toilets. The toilets were damp and there were some puddles on the ground. I think it needs better ventilation. But all in all, it was amazing!

An all-vegan Japanese spot. The menu is set, so no tough choices—except for the ramen flavors, and honestly, the move is to get both. We had one with black burnt garlic and the other with red chili, and swapping between the two was a good one. It was well balanced, not overwhelming, just that deep, rich kick you want in a good bowl of ramen. Service was good, the space is tiny but well-organized, with a big community table in the middle. If you’re up for it, it’s a great place to have a casual chat with strangers while enjoying your food. Despite the price creeping up over the years (from around 30 to now 50), it still feels worth it for the quality and experience. Definitely recommend if you’re into well-executed, creative vegan food.

I’ve visited many restaurants, both abroad and in the Netherlands, and have traveled Japan quite extensively. I can say, without a doubt, that this was some of the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. The flavors here are top notch, the ingredients authentic, and everything is plant-based. The courses are nicely spaced out, allowing you to experience a large range of different tastes, textures and dishes. The quality is truly impeccable, giving you the feeling of fine dining. There is a subtlety and elegance to every plate, and the flavors come out like magic. I want to thank the chefs and host for the great night, I am certain to come again.

Liked it. To eat Japanese in vegan was something new for me. But if that is for everybody is individual. As a not vegan I would do it not every time but it was a nice and very good alternative. The money is well spent.

Fantastic dining experience with fresh vegetables. Service was really excellent, staff took the time to explain fully each dish. All dishes were exceptionally flavoursome and it also felt like vegan cuisine in its own right - not trying with meat replacements. Atmosphere is a little peculiar as you’re sat on a large table with a lot of other people, but not really impactful on the whole experience. Fully recommend!

Truly as delicious as all the other glowing reviews would make you think. Every bite of food was clearly the work of high level technique and culinary knowledge. Finding an all vegan restaurant of this caliber is rare - I feel lucky to have been able to go and hope to do so again!

Men Impossible is by far our favourite restaurant. The food is out of this world: the tastes blend together amazingly and are well thought off, and the noodles are just out of this world. The staff is knowledgable, very friendly and make you feel welcome. The ambiance with the big table where everyone sits on fits perfectly with the concept of a Japanese small restaurant. O and cherry on the cake: it’s all vegan! We keep coming back to Men Impossible for special occassions and recommend it to everyone who wants to have a deliciously special evening.

We were a bit too early (~30 mins) for our reservation but that was not a problem at all. The friendly staff said "rather early than late!", super nice! :) They then proceeded to serve us quite quickly! The tea and tea snack were served immediately, after which the concept was explained and the appetizers already came within minutes. Considering there are 5 courses, having fast service didn't feel rushed at all. Plus one of the staff members really enjoyed talking about Japan, where she's from, and we shared some chat about our last holiday there as well. Now let's talk about the food - and I'll try not too exaggerate - it was incredible. We're pretty avid Japan fans and eat Japanese pretty often, but this was surprising, flavourful and all-round amazing! My favourites were the little appetizers and tempura, while my partner loved the wonton soup and dessert - aside from the ramen itself, which was incredible as well! The amount of food is good, we were pretty full when we left, but not so full that our stomachs hurt. All in all, I would definitely recommend going and as a matter of fact, I'm going to send this review to some of my friends right now. See you next time! Mata ne! :)

Lovely and cozy place. The food is delicious and you can easily get full. The dishes are not like in standard restaurant, but rather with special spices and made with an excellent idea. There is one big table in the middle and two small tables on the sides. We sat on the big one and enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommended, the staff is also very kind and explains everything regarding their dishes. I will visit this place again.

In a word: wow. The food is prepared with a lot of attention and love. A flavor bomb of dishes that sometimes makes you forget that it is plant-based. Each course includes some noodles prepared in different shapes. Upon arrival you get a small salad of cabbage and crispy noodles. Next came the cold starters. All equally delicious. Then a delicious wan tan soup flavored with fermented rice. After this you got the hot starters. The tofu, mochi and tempura were the standouts for us. We thought the tokoyaki was less special. And then came the noodles that we eagerly awaited on Saturday. We took the black garlic and clear truffle. I expected that the creamy sauce would lose the flavor of the truffle and garlic, but nothing could be further from the truth. Both noodles also tasted really different. We could eat a double portion of this! Finally, we finished with a dessert, which unfortunately tasted a bit too bland for us. Perhaps more sauce could have been added and the matcha could have tasted stronger. The hostess was very attentive and the service was top notch. The place is not very special, in my opinion there should have been several tables instead of together at one large table. All in all €50 for a 5-course menu including table water and tea in the heart of Amsterdam. I highly recommend this restaurant to try for vegans and non-vegans.

The Raman can have 3 variations to choose from. I got the more creamy one with chilly and it was likely the best Ramen I ever had.
