Mexicaans Argentijns Restaurant El Castillo in Binnenstad

I have to give it a minus because I think it's expensive for what it's worth. We ordered an oven-baked dish that turned out to be cold inside, but the thick plate was hot. Of course it will be like that. The food doesn't match the price. €29 for cold potatoes + some meat and cheese. Please change something, let's respect people. +/- 20 minutes of waiting for the ordered beer. An event like Kermis made it clear that there is a lack of organization.

The staff was friendly, the ambiance was nice, and the food was good. I just wonder why tourists have to be ripped off? The prices on the menu were different. We went to a few restaurants in the area, and we usually paid €125. However, €161.20 was significantly too high for what was offered.

Upon entering, we were helped by a very friendly young man who took the time to explain the menu. The nachos El Castillo had a good taste (yummy!). The chicken skewers and enchilladas were also well prepared. Finally, we had dessert, in my case cinnamon ice cream which was also very tasty and served beautifully. The lady at the counter was also very customer-oriented. We will definitely come back again.

The food was fine, but you can't tell me that 2 tacos cost €31.50 to make. The chef's choice was also mediocre, the portions were larger but the quality was not good. Within the catering industry, an average margin factor of *4 is calculated, which would mean that the tacos should cost around 8 euros to purchase, I don't believe so. Do something about the price-quality ratio and it will be a top tent! The service was very smooth and friendly, nothing to complain about.

Cozy Latin American restaurant. You have a very extensive menu, which makes it difficult to make a choice. I chose the tomato-bean soup and it was very tasty. It came with garlic bread that was delicious to combine with this soup. As a main course I had the mixed grill. This was also really tasty and more than enough. The taste of charcoal grill is always great! The service was excellent, compliments to the young gentleman who served me!

What a surprise! Both the food and the service! Delicious house wine (both white and red) at the right temperature, nice warm baguette in advance (with delicious herb butter). Walked past and saw the steak menu so asked for a table and was seated quickly as it was relatively quiet, I would say about 25/30%. The time was around 18:30 so still early. I looked at the drink menu, and asked for the house wine in 50cl to be told that house wine only came in the bottle. I showed the girl the menu, she said no sorry that wine is bottle only. So I asked for a glass and it was a Merlot which was ok but very sweet. When the wine was brought I was asked what I wanted to eat I asked for corn on the cob and then the ribeye but I would let them know when I wanted the steak as I wasn’t in a rush and the girl said no problem. The corn arrived and it was charred quite well but was strangely barely warm, but I ate it. Then within 5 mins the steak arrived. I said to a different young girl who brought it(not original waitress)that I wasn’t really ready for my main so quick but I said ok no problem and I took it. The ribeye tasted very burnt and charred, however it was cooked medium nicely but it was chewy. I know a ribeye has the marbling I eat that also but the meat itself was very chewy. When a 3rd different person took my plate they asked was it good And I said it wasn’t great but was ok. They said sorry would you like a coffee on the house. As I was sat there with a red wine. I think a free wine would’ve been a better suggestion? All in all, not great, nothing special or even ok. I won’t be returning there’s lots of other places much better in my opinion. Nice restaurant for meat fans. But vegetarian options are also on the menu. The quality is great. The selection of different sauces for the individual dishes is also worth mentioning, as is the salad buffet. The food is well crafted and has a nice personal touch. We would like to thank the waitress for the good advice and the extremely fair billing. We would be happy to come back.

Very nice restaurant. We have eaten spare ribs and paella. Paella was very delicious. Spare ribs were also good but I prefer more spicy sauce with the ribs. The waitress and other staff members were very friendly. It is also worth mentioning the tomato soups we had as starters. I really liked the beans in it. Also the bread slices with cumin sauce were very delicious with soup.

And anyone who knows me knows that I have strict requirements for a catering experience, but that's just me🤣. This owner has worked hard and that can be said. We had made a reservation, which was necessary because it was full in no time (Saturday evening). We were welcomed at the door and shown a seat. Received the menu within 2 minutes. Very good staff. We had nachos, baguette and nachos as a starter. Main course We had some doubts about mixed grill for 2 people.. Could go both ways... bone dry... or as it was now... meat medium... tender. Really delicious! We will definitely go back again! Service tipped 9 euros made a nice round amount 😉 And they certainly deserved it.

I ordered chilli concarne. What happened has nothing whatsoever to do with this international court. Minimum amount (approx. 1 tablespoon of sauce, lots of rice and minced meat). Everything separated on the plate. Value of the food used maximum 2 to 3 euros. Cost is an outrageous €17. Salad extra €5 for self-service, pitiful offer. With all understanding, this is absolute usury. Service friendly. Not recommendable!!!

For starters we had tortillas with minced meat and cheese. Delicious. The meat was well seasoned. For the main course I had the fillet steak. Here I come to the actual reason for the 3-star rating: I ordered a 320 gram steak and received an approx. 240 gram and an approx. 80 gram steak. The larger piece was juicy and perfect - the smaller piece was also medium, but dry and relatively chewy. I think for a price of €50 it has to be a whole, perfect piece of meat. You can't throw together 240 grams and 80 grams and advertise it as a 320 gram steak. The menu mentions Tournedo Steaks. This form was not recognizable. It's a shame, because the meat from the larger piece was really tasty and close to perfection.
