Miri Mary Indian Restaurant in Nieuwe Pijp

Mirza was a very lovely and helpful member of staff! We got the butter chicken and saag paneer, it was very very delicious and the presentation of the table/dishes was nothing short of splendid! Thank you :)

To be honest I did not really understand what we had. When I go to an Indian restaurant, there is a certain expectation of portion sizes, flavours and corresponding prices. Here the portions were small but pricy. And the concept seems to be more of a fusion like. I do not think we will be coming back when we crave Indian food. Inside the space is cozy and the tables are very close to each other. I would not recommend with a stroller.

We came here for lunch. The interior inside is great! Outside they have a nice terrace with heating. We had the monthly special (sourdough with lamb) and the chickpea stew. The portions were big and we loved every bite. Their watermelon fizz mocktail was a pleasant surprise, the Indian spices in it gave it a very pleasant flavour. The raspberry lychee smoothie was good too. We spent about 25 EUR a person. The staff was friendly. We will definitely be coming back to try out their dinner menu.

Great atmosphere, incredibly delicious food, and fast service. We had a table at the bar, where the bartender personally made sure we had everything we needed. In short, highly recommended if you enjoy delicious Indonesian food in a cozy setting. Kudos to the bartender for taking care of the Flemish couple!

Got terrible food poisoning here from butter chicken benny. I guess chicken was spoiled/rotten. My partner had the same food and same result. This place pays loads of money for instagram influencers to recommend it Pls be careful

The food, drinks and service were so good! It was one of the best flavor combinations we have had with Indian food. Top notch drinks (my favorite: cinnamon rush!) and we had very friendly servers. Wonderful place to stop, thanks!

Not the typical Indian restaurant, more of an Indian fusion concept. The food itself is very good, though sometimes it feels a little too fancy for its own good. Portion sizes could be a bit more generous, especially considering the price point. What took away from the experience was the service. It felt quite chaotic: we had to ask several times before getting rice to go with the rest of our dishes, and in the end we were charged for more than we actually received. Also, while the restaurant strongly emphasizes that reserved tables are only held for 20 minutes, we ended up waiting 25 minutes past our reservation to be seated. I understand busy nights can happen, and the place clearly has a lot of demand, but more attention to service would make the dining experience much better

We found this restaurant through Google and looking for evening Indian food - the high ratings pulled us in but the menu for brunch was very impressive. We had brunch for 4 people with cocktails. Everything was beautifully presented and special - the food was out of this world! Outstanding flavours and unique menu items, we only wished we lived close so we could visit this restaurant weekly!!! Thank you for taking care of us Miri Mary - we loved the place.

We went to Mira Mary on our final night in Amsterdam for holiday, and had one of, if not the, best meals of our two week trip. We were convinced to get the tasting menu at 45€/person and it was fantastic. The food was some of the best Indian I’ve ever had, and the portions were huge; we left with multiple boxes of leftovers. This restaurant is a great value for your money. In addition, we loved our cocktails - especially the Margherita and Colada. All of them were delicious and unique. A must visit, especially for anyone who loves Indian cuisine.

I was excited to explore this restaurant on our first night back in Amsterdam, and each dish exceeded my expectations.Traditional flavors seamlessly intertwined with Western touches, creating a symphony of taste that lingered long after the meal. What truly elevated our evening was the exceptional service from our steward Mirza. He greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and patiently answered our questions. He was professional and friendly, making our experience better. By the end of the night, our conversation with him left us feeling uplifted, our hearts as full as our plates.

Overall was a great experience with dishes that were absolutely delicious. The starters offer is vast yummy but for the mains, maybe a bit more offering would be good. Cocktails were splendid. And we were hosted by Leo , who’s a wonder.

We always love visiting MiriMary. The food is consistently delicious and never disappoints. Our go-to favorites are the Eggplant & Tomato Arancini, Elephant Leaf Rolls (absolutely to die for), Gunpowder Okra Fries (I could honestly live on these forever), the Divine Chocolate Indulgence with Fresh Berries, and Mary’s Nest. This time we also tried Mary’s Crêpe (Benne Dosa) and it was spot on the dosa tasted so authentic, and the sambhar was exactly the way it should be. My only wish is that they make it a bit bigger, because it was that good. The person serving us was outstanding very friendly, professional, and handled everything with warmth and a smile. Kudos to him for making the evening even more special. Honestly, the only reason we visit Amsterdam for dinner is to eat here.

We had the butter chicken Benedict, halloumi & lentil, and a daily special (lamb toast). All were delicious in their own right. We also had tropical colada and a Dark n’ Really Stormy. Again delicious. Some feedback for the owners on the service: one of the tables had the laptop, paperwork, and phone ringing. An office set up in the middle of their restaurant while their customers are trying to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere they’ve created with decor, music, and the smell of Indian spices when you walk in. The other elements I would point out would be the wobbly table that required coasters to help stabilise it when we sat down & the drinks arriving at the table at different times. Small topics that can set you apart in a city that has a million options to choose from. Regardless of these small pieces of feedback - I would highly recommend going to the restaurant for the unique taste and brunch experience! I will be going back for the food alone. Thanks Miri Mary!

I don't really get the hype. I went there after TikTok had some rave videos. Well... it was really disappointing. It was incredibly expensive! We ended up paying around €80 for a small bowl of butter chicken, rice, 3 croquettes, 5 pieces of spicy chicken, and Coke Zero. The seats were also very small inside, so it wasn't comfortable.

We were really looking forward to eat at that restaurant when we made our reservation. When we finally arrived we were seated, handed the menu and given an introduction to the concept. We didn’t get the concept and just ordered something from the menu like we are used to in Indian restaurants. What we thought was the main course arrived quickly and before the drinks and sides (rice and naan). When we asked for the rice and naan 5 minutes later the waiter was confused that we wanted the rice with the main food. By the time we got the rice and naan our food was already cold. When we asked them about our confusion it turned out that the sides are the main courses (but on the menu it says savory sides) and they only have sides. We are disappointed that it was nothing like the indian restaurants we have been so far. And the food was okish but not the culinary spice cruise they promised us in their 5 minute introduction.

We went to Miri Mary in Amsterdam with our family, but what a huge disappointment. This restaurant is selling itself and its guests short. We chose the €45 per person menu, but the food was a disgrace: small portions, bland flavors, and absolutely not representative of Indian cuisine. It had nothing to do with authentic Indian food—rather, it was tasteless and uninspired. For this price, you expect quality, but what we received was simply subpar and a waste of money. The service made the experience even worse. The staff was disinterested, unwelcoming, and kept us waiting far too long. When we expressed our disappointment and told them we would write a bad review, the server offered us something extra. But by that point, the evening was already ruined, and we didn't want it anymore. In short: an expensive, terrible experience that sent us home feeling awful. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. If you're considering dining here: save yourself the frustration and choose a different restaurant. I feel completely ripped off because the menu price is out of proportion to the amount we received, and then I get such a scandalous response.

Absolutely amazing brunch. Had the Butter Chicken Benny, Hummus Chat Deviled Eggs, and the Lamb Toast special. Everything was so so so tasty. The Bloody Mary was great as was the super interesting Matcha Beer special. 10/10

This place has really grown on me! The first time we went we enjoyed it but I think we weren’t prepared for some of the Dutch influence in South Indian. Was just a bit strange but we decided to give it another shot while friends were in town staying with us and the food and service were both incredible. It’s also gotten very popular in a short amount of time so reservations I would say are mandatory especially on weekends. Amsterdam isn’t exactly known for its strong hospitality industry so it was especially nice to receive such great service! Will definitely go again!

A very poor restaurant with a misleading reputation. After seeing a video on Instagram and reading the many positive reviews, we decided to eat at Miri Mary. In hindsight, it was a huge mistake. The food was tasteless, the portions were tiny, and it had nothing to do with authentic Indian food. After a bit of research, it turns out that many of the positive reviews are fake or bought. This explains why our experience completely contradicted the image presented online. My advice: don't fall for the misleading marketing and fake reviews – this restaurant is absolutely not recommended.

The food was good, but not out of this world. Limited amount of curries. Only a few spicy options in the menu. Great atmosphere though! The menu recommended 4 plates per person, which seems a bit disingenuous considering we got 2 per person and had more than enough.

We visited Miri Mary for brunch and it was a great experience overall. Our host Steve was polite and was on top of things, getting us water, checking in on us, and bringing our food on time. The food was spectacular, with their Saag Burrata and Paneer Naan being the show stealer. The scrambled eggs were done to perfection too. The ambience is also quite chic and the decor was simple and neat. The only thing to improve is the legroom for their tables inside, which was too little for us. It felt uncomfortable because the table legs taking too much space, leaving little space for our legs.
