Miyagi & Jones Haarlem in Oude Stad

We ate at Miyagi & Jones for the first time. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. However, it was incredibly cold inside. We saw several people inside who hadn't taken off their scarves. There was also someone who kept their coat on. We reported this to the staff, but unfortunately, they didn't offer a warmer temperature. This was the only, but significant, disappointment.

The atmosphere was very cozy and nice. There were a lot of drinks and food to choose. The portion was a bit small but tasty😋

Charming restaurant; we sat upstairs by the stained-glass windows. The food was delicious. We tried several appetizers, and everything was delicious! I'm not a dessert person, but the mango macaron was delicious. Friendly service.

Amazing restaurant and dishes, but I would stick to the sushi plates. The meat dishes were not on the same level. The ribs, the duck were dry, the korean chicken wings were undercooked.

We had a delicious meal and drinks. An interesting menu with a wide selection. The service was very friendly and fast. We were disappointed with the dessert (Oreo Choco), but otherwise, there was nothing to complain about.

Brilliant food. Love the concept here. You order 5 dishes from the menu. Each is slightly larger than a standard starter but the quality is amazing. Sushi is fantastic. Give them a try, you'll not be disappointed

The food is good quality. Unfortunately, the food is just thrown onto the table, at least by the male employee who was serving at the time. It's a nice location with beautiful stained glass. The concept is good, but it's really a kind of disguised food court with a more upscale look. Unfortunately, we also had to wait a very long time before we could order (almost 45 minutes).

We went to dinner with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience wasn't positive. The food was truly terrible. The chops were overcooked, the lamb tasted bland, and the quality of the meat was subpar. It looked like a trainee chef had prepared the food. Chicken pieces also arrived undercooked, and because the restaurant was quite dark, you couldn't tell at first. I sent them back, and half an hour later, a new portion arrived, apparently microwaved. Ugh! This is unacceptable. Advice: avoid this restaurant.

We went here on my birthday. Really great place to eat. Friendly staff and the food is very tasty. I also like the 3-courses for 42€ option although the dishes were bigger than we expected so in the end we weren't able to finish everything if we were going to fit dessert in as well. Will come back here for sure.

So, we were really excited to try somewhere new for our anniversary. Unfortunately, we were a bit let down. I think there's more hype about the place than what was reality. The food was meh - we took the 3 course menu option - 2 x 2 main courses and 1 dessert per person (total of 5 dishes per person). And we also added 2 a la carte meals. And the reason was because the dishes are pretty small, not very filling if you dont carb load . Out of the 10 dishes from the 3 course, only 2 mains and 1 dessert were actually good. The others were unfortunately not at all worth the prices we paid. (And you can get way more options and overall quality and quantity of food from a few other restaurants in the area - for cheaper.) The atmosphere was okay, unfortunately the upstairs wasn't open, but I chalk that up to the time of the week we went. Staff are very friendly - i really give them props for that. But service was also pretty slow - which was weird as they weren't *that* busy. So overall, not the worst experience, but we won't go again.

This is truly excellent! What a beautiful restaurant. Delicious food. Lovely dishes, a great menu, and everything equally delicious. This is more than worth it to experience what a wonderful concept. The people who work there are all good and sharp. A top-notch experience.

The food and drinks were all delicious. The service was also polite, especially from the Asian male staff member wearing glasses.

We ordered food there, sushis were either blend or not good, I couldn't tell what meat or fish I had on mine, there was just nothing to praise here. I also took some rice and beef, it arrived cold and hard, as if the rice was old. I can't say for the service or atmosphere, but the food will make sure we'll never eat there again.

The quality has deteriorated significantly compared to the other times we've eaten here. It's a real shame.

A very nice restaurant with an interesting concept. You can almost completely customize your dishes. Ordering is done via app. The staff is very friendly. The prices are a bit high. The food was very tasty.

My family and I (3) ordered the 3 course meal. It comes with 4 dishes plus a dessert but they also give you the option to replace it with another dish from the menu. They give you a tablet to order your courses from and you order via the app. This app is so confusing and kept on blocking our orders (keep in mind that we were allowed to order 12 items directly off of the menu and 3 from the waiter) We asked our waiter why the app kept blocking us and she said that we were only allowed to order 1 more additional course from the the menu instead of the 2 that we still had left. We were not in the mood to argue and just decided to leave the matter to try and to enjoy the rest of night. In conclusion service was a 4/10 and the food was a pretty low 5/10. Another thing to mention is that if you have a big appetite and decide to eat here you will not be very happy. For the price you pay for food and the portion sizes you receive it is very disappointing. Will not be returning.

I went here with my girlfriend because we had a concert in Haarlem. The concept is certainly not bad, and the menu was more than enough for us. The food was good quality, but I really hope so for the price they charge. The scallops weren't good, and my girlfriend cried when she ate the chocolate cake because it really wasn't good.

Went there with Social deal. Good price, even without discount still recommended. It's shared dinning in Asian fusion style. Food were nice and delicious, freshly made but quite fast service and friendly staffs. Better make reservations. It's a busy place.

Decent food, but the service was very impersonal and the atmosphere was not great. It is more like an all you can eat than a nice restaurant. You also order via an ipad which also takes away from the experience

We found the food quite expensive for the small snacks you get, despite the quality being reasonable. We sat upstairs at one of the tables next to the DJ, which for us was at the expense of the atmosphere of a nice evening out together. Personally, I don't think the DJ is an added value in a restaurant, but that may be part of the vibe of this restaurant. In short: staff friendly. Food and drinks very expensive for the quantities/quality.

We ordered here via uber eats, the food was a big disappointment. The delivery took over 2 hours and the food was very unappetizing. We took a bite of everything and decided not to eat any more. I don't like to post bad reviews but this is definitely not recommended.

Nice but the portions are really small. The waiting staff are excellent and very friendly so I really cannot criticize them at all but it was a restaurant where you spend a lot of money and still feel a bit hungry after.

A great restaurant, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the lovely staff and the AMAZING food. We enjoyed it so much, and the cocktails and desserts were phenomenal!! I had asked when making the reservation if we could get a nice spot because of a birthday and during dessert they came to sing with fireworks. You guys are great!! Thank you! We will definitely come back. My mother-in-law is normally very reserved with praising restaurants but she also loved everything.

Tasty and cozy. I would go for the lamb chop, definitely. And for desert of course the mango ice cream macaron. And then something else on the side of course. Maybe salmon sushi and the spicy chicken, those are also recommended. The Korean fried rice does not seem to be fried or barely fried, that is something to think about.

I ordered via uber eats last evening and was surprised with how the quality of the food from this place really went down. It used to be pretty good, and with my order there was not a single dish that was decent. The sushi was bad and soggy, the duck was sliced super thick and was super soggy, the karage chicken pieces were rock hard, the naan bread was dry and hard.. all had been made many many hours (or days) earlier and you could see and taste that. Such a pity! I would discourage ordering from there..

A super nice restaurant with 2 floors. Beautiful stained glass windows and a beautiful tent with charisma! We ate here with 11 people and a nice table was made available for that. We chose the 3-course menu where everyone could choose 2 dishes in the first two rounds, the 3rd round everyone chose 1 dish (dessert). It is more than enough and very tasty, a lot of choice and something for everyone! Fish, meat and vegetarian! Definitely recommended!

We had to wait 1.45 hours for our food (via Thuisbezorgd). The time kept jumping in the app, nothing was right at all. After calling 5 times I was finally able to reach someone by phone. It was said 'apologies, but we depend on when a delivery person is available'. What nonsense! There are a lot of delivery people in Haarlem, and we live a 6-minute drive from the restaurant. Waiting almost 2 hours for 3 portions of food is not okay. Previously (with pick-up after ordering online via their site), the portions were really better and tastier. It was served in round containers, right portion of meat and vegetables. Now disappointed for the 2nd time after an online order: small and angular containers, lots of rice and few vegetables and meat. Very sloppily presented too, without attention. A really clear difference compared to say 1/1.5 years ago. Different chef perhaps? Shame. No improvement at all. We will never order online here again.

We've eaten here several times, including on Christmas Day. Delicious food. Not too much, not too little, just right. There are three rounds in total, with two dishes per round, and a dessert or coffee on the final round. Several of the waitstaff speak English, which wasn't a problem for us.

The place is nice and service was prompt but most of the dishes we did not like much. Especially mango and avocado salad was tasteless and freezing cold. Raspberry gin tonic was great though.

My favorite restaurant for not only delicious and varied food, but also super fun! That's why I like to come here regularly with my friends and/or family. The choice between the different dishes offers something for everyone and I haven't even mentioned the great cocktails! The staff is always very polite and I am always well looked after!

Fusion restaurant in the center of Haarlem, with a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food, but it's a bit noisy. There's a DJ on some days. We often go there or order delivery. Remember to make a reservation; it's almost always full.

I often come here with a friend as part of a meet-half-way arrangement. This time, it wasn't quite as good: the sweet potato fries were delivered after we'd already finished eating... and yes, we had already asked where the fries were... Not all the staff speak Dutch. It's a shame, and communication is sometimes difficult. Otherwise, it's a great place, good food, and a good atmosphere. It was a shame, though, that we came with a voucher we'd received a few months earlier when we were there. It provides a significant discount, and it was valid until March 31st, but we couldn't redeem it: they'd decided to change the menu and therefore the rules. We should have waited a month longer, until the voucher expired. Now we were forced to spend more. You make a reservation with a certain mindset and expectation (right before a performance at the Phil), and now the concept had changed, the price had gone up considerably, and the voucher was no longer valid. It's a shame and sloppy.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. It was a bit noisy due to the music/acoustics. I found the quality of the food to be generally good. The nachos were supposed to have ground beef and avocado, but the toppings were nowhere to be found, so I thought they were a bit expensive for plain nachos. It took ages for the service to arrive. We had been chatting for half an hour and no one had even come over for a drink. When we left, no one even said goodbye. I always appreciate things like that. All in all, I give my first experience a 6.5/7.

After two very disappointing evenings at this restaurant due to the subpar service, we decided to order in tonight. The food is actually quite good. Despite ordering two hours in advance, it arrived over an hour late. So, you're sitting there, hungry, waiting for your kids in bed, and finally, at 9:15 PM, you get your food... The worst part is that they lied several times about the delivery driver already being on his way. Bunch of bunglers. So, this was definitely the last time. I'm definitely not going to this restaurant, and I will advise everyone against coming or ordering from this place.

What you often read here... the service leaves a lot to be desired. Not that they aren't friendly, but when they serve us, for example, we don't get our plates at the same time. My partner had a large bowl of salad, and I had three dim sum (one of which was stuck to paper and couldn't be removed) that fit in my hollow tooth. When the dishes were brought, they quickly threw them on the table, and the already small table, full of plates, didn't immediately clear it without asking. Drinks are also quite expensive, but the bar is very responsive. All the dishes are tasty, except for some flavorless Korean stew. The duck (not the pancake) is five thin slices that take a long time to come. All in all, you're eating "alongside each other." I had to ask twice where my food was. The concept is really good, the decor and atmosphere are great, the food is also good but expensive; it just seems too chaotic. You choose this restaurant for the concept and the atmosphere, and if people complain that the kebab shop around the corner is better, or that 'all you can eat' is more and cheaper... then go there, it's not a junk shop or snack bar.

What a crappy place. Cold meat, poor service. The kebab shop around the corner serves even better food.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was disappointing. We ordered Peking duck, but it was not as it should be. The skin was not crispy, the duck seemed steamed rather than roasted, and the pancakes were dry, which shouldn’t be the case since they are originally steamed. When we commented that the duck wasn’t good and explained why, the waitress simply replied, “Well, that’s just how the dish is.” There were no apologies or any kind of response beyond that. We also ordered the pork ribs, and they had a strange taste, which I wouldn’t say was pleasant. On the plus side, the restaurant has a very interesting interior, the non-alcoholic cocktail was delicious, the tea was great, and the service was fast.

Tip: don't sit on the left side of the restaurant; unfortunately, we smelled a strong cleaning odor coming from a room (a dishwashing area, perhaps) that evening. But otherwise, definitely recommended, and we'll definitely be back.

The food was delicious. Lots of tasty dishes, fresh and flavourful. Sometimes a bit salty, but then you shouldn't choose the soy sauce dishes 😄 Ordering via the tablet is very convenient, and the service is quick and friendly. Considering the limited portion size, it is a bit pricey.

Disappointed. The taste of the food was mainly flat. Sometimes you could no longer taste the fish flavor due to the many sauces. Service is friendly, but slow. They work hard. You get tablets at the table with a menu, you have to like that. Some places are noisy, the sound is quieter in the back.

There was a strong baking smell in the entire restaurant. Perhaps the ventilation had a defect or something? But, nice food. Had a nice evening.

We found the food (the hot plates) to be disappointing in terms of taste and very simple. Unfortunately, our dishes did not arrive at the same time, and there was at least a 5-minute gap between them. Quite strange when there are only two of you. The service is friendly, but seems rushed, running around and making little eye contact. All in all, unfortunately not worth repeating.

The restaurant looks really nice and the food is delicious. We were there via social deal, the service was not really on the same page because they told different things, it can happen, that is not a disaster. But I think the wait staff was instructed, don't make eye contact with the guests! The service was not good. Beckoning someone doesn't work, calling the waiter on the tablet doesn't work either, and no one removes the plates from the table. Ultimately we were able to order dessert and coffee, but unfortunately it didn't arrive at the same time and the dessert was finished before the coffee arrived.

Today, October 31, I ate here for the first time on recommendation. Unfortunately: Chaos with the serving. Meat cold, tasty, but no vegetables at all, which is strange for this type of cuisine. Table members did not receive food for a long time: chaos when serving. Explanation from staff about the tablet was good and friendly; she couldn't help it that it was too busy and that unfortunately we had to wait a long time for orders. There was a lot of noise, mainly due to the nuisance of a table with very noisy men drinking alone who would have been better off going to a café. Received free coffee as an apology. Definitely do not recommend this tent!

The street food is really delicious. Enough choice of different dishes. The only thing I regret is that there is little choice for someone who wants a lactose intolerant/vegan dessert. There is only lemon sorbet ice cream with strawberries for that. It's a shame that there isn't more choice, for example in more flavors of ice cream or just a vegan dessert. This is the only downside, otherwise it is a top restaurant!

Good food, nice atmosphere, receiving drinks just took a very long time

Chaotic staff, no guidance at all, they do not see that food needs to be served. If you have to wait a long time at the door, no one will come to you. Tables are not cleared. And the food is not what it used to be. I've been here several times, always good.. but now it's really crying!! They would be better off turning it into a takeaway restaurant.

Super cool restaurant with tasty dishes. You order with a tablet and everything is brought to the table very quickly. The open kitchen offers a nice insight into the chef's workings.
