The chicken was completely raw on the inside. Sent it back after 1 bite. Luckily, it was still on the bill so we could get annoyed about it again. Never going there again.

Had an ice-cold cola for only €3.80. The barmaid was so likeable, cheerful, and friendly that she deserved a tip. Called this Saturday and I couldn't even get a toasted sandwich. You can't even call to make a reservation. You have to do it online.

Average bar/restaurant with a relatively standard Dutch menu. Service is friendly. Can be busy on Thursdays/Fridays, especially on sunny days. The outdoor area is great, overlooking a meadow and forrest behind.

I had rooibos and coffee today. Not some ordinary tea bag, but real tea.

Normally, I never send a review. But after last Friday...! The Cote de Boeuf was so bad. It arrived at the table served on a platter. Slices side by side with a large piece of meat on top. That turned out to be the bone with shredded steak. Yes, it looks like 800 grams as stated on the menu, but it was nowhere near that. The pieces underneath consisted of almost half fat, which was difficult to cut off. Truly disgusting. The fact that we tried to eat it anyway was our fault. We should have sent it back immediately. Filed a complaint. The response was that the Head Chef had said that the regular supplier was closed that day (?) A drink was offered as compensation, for which we had to wait fifteen minutes. Anyway, upon inquiries through the grapevine, it turns out that the Stinking Bucket (which overflowed) doesn't have a Head Chef at all! This is very sad. The atmosphere is good, beautiful location, but we will never eat there again..... Rob van Dijk

Last Thursday, we participated in the Pub Quiz again with our fantastic team (okay, we didn't finish anywhere near the top 3, but we scored high at IJver). It was a fantastic evening, well-organized, with excellent service and delicious snacks.

I've only had positive feedback. As a child, and now as an adult, I've eaten there a lot. (Spare ribs and mussel evenings, for example.) And...my mother's farewell at Het Wapen. Such a wonderful accompaniment with comforting food.

Nice atmosphere for dining out at Christmas. The vegetarian Christmas menu looked neat and tasted delicious. The service was good. One point of improvement is the cramped toilet that is not easily accessible and suitable (low bowl) for people with disabilities.

Way too busy, and small and very noisy. We couldn't even ask if a spot might become available. We didn't want this anymore either. So we went to a quieter spot, ended up having a very nice meal at the old station and sat a lot more quietly.

We found the dinner disappointing overall. The dishes were too 'basic' for a Christmas menu. More imagination needs to be put on the plate at Christmas. The children's menus also deserved more attention because we can also serve a few cherry tomatoes and carrot strips on a plate at home. In terms of taste, the duck breast (and sauce) in particular was fine. The waiting times between dishes were too long. There was about an hour between each dish, which is too long, especially for young children. The atmosphere in Het Wapen van Kennemerland was excellent and the service was also very friendly. We will definitely go back for dinner at another time, but yesterday we had the feeling that the kitchen brigade could not handle such a large group and we were very sorry to experience that.

My caprese sandwich was delicious. Of course not easy to eat because it is high, but I received a sharp knife upon request. My friend had a Caesar salad and thought it had a lot of chicken and not enough lettuce. Upon request she got some lettuce, but not much. The building is fantastic, very attractive and in the summer you can sit on the terrace and look out over the meadows. A truly unique place. However, on Sundays in winter, it is very busy and the noise of voices and cutlery etc. is deafening. Even if you sit opposite each other at a narrow table, you have to raise your voice quite a bit, which is very tiring. So there is still quite a bit of room for improvement in terms of acoustics here. I wouldn't change anything else.

What was less nice was that the food was not very warm and cooled down halfway through. The food itself was nice, but not regarding the price/quality...too expensive! (eaten game)

After a Sunday walk in the beautiful Elswout estate, a hot chocolate in the adjacent "Wapen" should not be missed. A heated terrace with a view over the meadow and forests has made this "vintage" location a household name in Haarlem for decades.

Neatly reserved, I could choose the dark part of the place with a burning fireplace, (way too hot!!!) a table where the waiter could just pass with his order or a table under the stairs!! You will also come to the coat of arms of K country for its beautiful location!! Fortunately I was able to find a lighter, cooler spot.

Our favorite place to go with the family (kids aged 4 and 7). In winter it is cozy inside and when the sun is shining you can sit outside. Lunch is our favorite meal and it is delicious. Lots of choice and something for everyone.

Yesterday we had another delicious meal at the 'stinking bucket'. I was also allowed to come along with my wife and the dog. Friendly service, comes by regularly but not pushy, just good! We sat upstairs because downstairs was full. This allows you to eat very quietly. Was very nice. We will definitely come back again!

Nice tent. There's a lot going on, there's plenty of commotion. The service is friendly, but sometimes it takes a while for the order to be taken. The food is of good quality and plenty of choice. I would definitely like to come back here again.
