Mondi Amsterdam South Caribbean Cuisine in Museumkwartier

Service was very bad and the food mediocre: We only got our drinks after half an hour. After an hour our food, and also after an hour we heard that 1 of the ordered dishes was gone. Many of the dishes were also not quite to taste. Atmosphere was nice because of the DJ and entertainment but for the food and service we will not come back.

Zeer ontevreden. Wij zijn al meerdere keren wezen eten bij Mondi en eigenlijk altijd met plezier, maar sinds kort heeft Mondi blijkbaar een tijdslot van 2 uur (wat voorheen nooit aan de orde was), dit resulteerde in dat ons dessert gewoon werd geannuleerd door het personeel (omdat de 2 uur om was) en je dus letterlijk na 2 uur van je tafel wordt geschopt! Helaas zullen wij zolang het tijdslot van 2 uur niet wordt opgeschort, niet meer terugkeren bij Mondi!!!

Phew where to start, this was BAD! and we really thought that was a shame, we have had nice evenings in the past but this concept is really not what it used to be. We arrived at 19:00 and Juliet started his show, good entertainment (the only plus point of the evening). - Ordering drinks took a very long time. - Ordering a few boxes of bread took a very long time, we only got it after an hour and a half together with our starter. - Ordering a few limoncello took a very long time We got our food from two young waiters, nothing bad about them in itself but the food was thrown down and you had to guess what it was. We had the extensive menu so a little intro would be appropriate. The show ended around 22:30, after which all the music suddenly stopped and you were in a kind of dead place where a cremation had just taken place. You could clearly notice that several tables were very dissatisfied waiting for their food/drinks. We got our main course at 23:00, the short ribs, which were clearly cooked way too long and were very tough. We had had enough when the fries & fried rice arrived at 23:15, after everyone had already finished their main course. We left the supplements for what they were and had to cancel the dessert because of the slow service and the cold / grim atmosphere that hung there. Several tables were really angry. The manager seemed like a kind of clown, totally incapable, all he did was listen to you and then did nothing with it. The bill was completely wrong, there were many more things charged that we did not have. We had to wait another 30 minutes because so much was wrong at several tables. For the owner, look back at this camera footage, the evening was so thoroughly bad that we will unfortunately never come back, but try to solve this because this is going to ruin your company.

What terrible. Bad service, good music but after a while it went off and it seemed like we had to leave, there was no background music, nothing and the meat was tough.

What a disaster! The service was terrible. We ordered our food at 8 pm, and by 11 pm we still had nothing, just an empty plate! The music guy was fantastic, and that allowed us to dance with other lovely guests for a bit. With one empty stomach and running for the last tram. I'll never come here again, and I'll tell everyone I can that it was a disappointment!

Yes where do I start but this was terribly bad! actually 1 star is still way too much. What should have been a fantastic evening was certainly not taken care of by the staff, manager. The only thing that was very positive about this evening was the music that was fantastic. Only at 22:30 the music stopped, the stage was dismantled and we then sat in the dark without any kind of atmosphere. When cake and coffee/tea were served you would think that a funeral was taking place. Terrible! When the food was served there was no explanation. You order the extensive menu so you know what you are getting but a little explanation would have been appropriate. You finally get a nice piece of meat you would think but it is so tough that you still have nothing. Unbelievable!! Never had to wait so long for the food when you are still served dishes of the main course at 22:45. Didn't see the dessert at all. As for the drinks. Never had to wait so long for a drink, even at a concert it goes ten times faster. Staring at an empty glass... where only advertising is made on social media that you should come to Mondi for the atmosphere and ambiance. And taste the atmosphere because this is an experience you will never forget, well indeed this MEGA BAD experience you will NEVER forget! Pfff I think the staff was not professional because the waiters were quite young which is not bad but it is if you are inexperienced. When you serve something you should not throw it on the table with almost the text here is your food dog. And then the manager how can you ever become a manager if you are as incompetent as this man. When you spoke to the 'manager' he acted as if he didn't know what to do with it. Whether he listened did not get the idea that he was impressed. While you would think that if you make a complaint you would come up with a solution but he really came up with nothing!!! When you entered you got a ticket for your coat because there was a cloakroom but as the evening went on there was no one at the cloakroom anymore and you could just grab any coat you wanted yourself. And then you think it's strange when your coat is gone. What a disgrace!!! Would definitely not recommend this place and would let everyone know!!

The atmosphere is super cozy. Music too. But the food is below par. The service really leaves something to be desired. Ask 10 times for a drink and get something hours later. Food takes a long time. Meat tough. Not told what is served. Takes a very long time before you get the drink or food. Charged 1 extra person with the bill. At 23:00 still no dessert. Music stops early while you go for the experience. Not recommended

We came with a large group for a team outing for a lovely dinner, but what an incredibly bad experience! One star is actually too much for the service. The music was nice and certainly enjoyable, but it ended too quickly and abruptly, leaving us sitting in a dark, quiet restaurant for the rest of the evening. The service was truly terrible. We had to ask several times to order something, and no one even bothered to look at us or ask if it was okay. Everything took ages; after an hour, a sandwich finally arrived, which we had to ask for five times. All the food was just put down without any explanation of what was being served. The main course arrived at 10:45 PM!!! and the side dishes another half hour later. So awful! We didn't even get dessert. The restaurant was already empty, completely quiet, and we had been sitting at our table since 7:00 PM. We didn't want to wait another hour. The receipt was also completely wrong; we had to ask three times and have it corrected. For the amount of money you pay, it's truly outrageous, a shame because the concept is fun. I would definitely not recommend it!

We went to Mondi as 5 Arubans celebrating a friend’s b-day. We were expecting some great tasting food that reminded us of home and we got exactly what we wanted and more! We ordered the lomiti hasa, crispy gamba, salmon, fried funchi, cheese balls and friend rice and it was all AMAZING!! There was live music and the vibes were excellent. At the end of the night the whole restaurant was dancing and having an amazing time. I would definitely recommend Mondi for your next girls night or celebration!! We ordered 1 bottle of wine and lots of separate drinks and everything came to around 250 euros, before tip! In my opinion not bad at all for 5 people!!

De wijn die ik wilde drinken (Kruger Forgotten Vineyards Shiraz South Africa) was helaas niet beschikbaar, ik moest een Italiaanse wijn bestellen (Sangiovese) die ik minder lekker vind. Mijn vrouw bestelde een Beso Burger, medium gebakken. Ze kreeg haar gerecht met de hamburger doormidden gesneden en zeer doorgebakken. Ze was dus niet tevreden. Dit hebben we ook gemeld maar mijn vrouw had haar gerecht al op, en bij navraag in de keuken bleek dat de kok niet goed de bestelling gelezen had.

Restaurant Mondi in Amsterdam was very disappointing. It was my first date, and the experience was really disappointing. The restaurant was very dirty, which did not improve the atmosphere at all. The food was not what I expected, it looked like cat food. All in all it was a bad experience, especially for such a special occasion...

ATTENTION PEOPLE YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED!!! WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER EATEN!!. 15 euros for three standard balloons which were supposed to represent helium balloons is insane for a birthday dinner!! Food was terribly expensive cold and disgusting!!! There were literally no ready-made meals from the freezer!!!! How can you serve fries cold anyway?!?! You should be ashamed!!! A simple coke was forgotten 3 times by the service. This is a big scam and misleading advertising on social media!!! This is the WORST restaurant I have ever eaten at. You should be charged.

LOVED seeing Steven and Jackie play on Wednesday eve here! We had Randy and Christina waiting on our table and loved them both. :)

Went especially for the live music Steve and Jacqueline are fantastic togeter duet, so was the food and cocktails. Special thanks to the bar tender Randy and christina working hard to make everyone comfortable.

Could be really a top spot in Amsterdam Zuid, however while kitchen is quite good, service is not, while place was almost empty and there were more than one staff, you would feel abounded:). Place is adjacent or serving as bar and restaurant of College Hotel, and most clients are tourists.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, very friendly service, but ordering and serving was very slow. Not even half of the restaurant was filled and yet we had to wait a really long time for every course. No one even came by for desert... We enjoyed it, but if the structure within the service improves, you really have all the ingredients for a fantastic evening.

We were invited to eat here again after posting a less good review (at Mondi's expense). Very good initiative! Unfortunately, this turned out much worse. When we arrived they did not know about our arrival. Afterwards it turned out that no one was aware of this. 90% of the staff consisted of ROC students. It's good that they practice, but this doesn't seem like the place to me (higher segment shared dining where the prices are) and certainly not 90% of the staff. Food was also bad (cold, way too salty or tasteless). Not only was it not tasty: there were dishes missing, which never arrived afterwards and 2 minutes after serving the starter, they came to report that the main course would now also be served because the cook had made a mistake. I am really amazed at how such a concept, with a beautiful website/branding and in such a beautiful building, can flop like that.

In 1 woord amateuristisch, qua bediening. De prijs daarentegen was was exorbitant. Een keer en nooit meer wat een tegenvaller

Vooropgesteld: de bediening komt vriendelijk en oplettend over en het entourage is echt geweldig! Heel tropisch en groen, zoals op de foto's op de website al te zien is. Het eten daarentegen, wij bestelden de high tea, is echt slecht. Simpele kant-en-klare gerechtjes, koud geworden wraps met kaas, humus en zoetigheden uit de schappen van de AH, nog meer wraps en nog meer kaas. alles lauw tot koud. Kortom, niks was vers en je betaalt 70 euro voor 2 personen. Een enorme teleurstelling.

Marvelously relaxing cocktail lounge at Monti Amsterdam South. Great way to spend a later evening after touring two museums. Hamdi, our bartender, was most hospitable and had a wonderful sense of humor!

My friends and I stopped in for a nightcap after a long day of touring. Hamdi, our bartender, made us delicious mixed drinks and went out of his way to make us feel welcome in a foreign country.

Had a wonderful evening with great music and delicious food. Something went wrong with the order, but the manager Mio spoke to us politely and resolved it!

Jet food was very tasty and the service very friendly. It was very quiet for a Saturday evening, while you would expect more people here because of the food! Definitely recommended, so next time we come here it will probably be busier!

Enjoyed delicious dishes and cocktails, wonderful music and atmosphere with the girls. Very sweet service and hostess! Highly recommended for a special (Saturday) night out.

High tea here was super bad! Everything was dry, rolls were absolutely not fresh. Everything tastes old, it seems as if they have reused the savory snacks from the other tables. A shame for such a beautiful location. Nothing is fresh! Even hot water for tea was lukewarm. We indicated this and received new water for tea. Phew…every time the water was lukewarm. Wouldn't go here for high tea.

The food was really nice, the staff was really nice, it looks really good. One star less for the small portions

Best Caribbean restaurant in Amsterdam. I tried the jeck chicken 🐔 and Batata Hasa, and it was superb.

High tea reserved for bridal shower. We had to pay for 13 people, even though we indicated at the beginning that 1 person would not come, so there were 12 of us. In addition, there were not enough of each snack at the high tea. Teapots were not replenished often enough. And one dessert had a rum flavor in it!! We eat halal and they knew that, but we still get a dessert that tastes like alcohol. Weird.

The food, location and ambiance were fantastic. The live band also played swinging. I can understand why my girlfriend had chosen this restaurant. However, the wait staff unfortunately undermines the promise of this place and underperforms for a place like this. My dining companion and I had to wait no less than 2 hours (!) for our main course. I even felt lightheaded/dizzy from the trek. It was already 9:15 PM and we had not eaten anything since 7:00 PM after the very light avocado starter. The food was finally served at 9:30 PM. Extremely late. I've never experienced anything like this before. We were there since 6:30 PM. The service clearly forgot to forward the message to the kitchen for the main course after they had cleared our table of the small starter. Mistakes can happen, but the staff did not come clean, did not apologize and only gave excuses. That only made it worse. One blamed it on an insignificant 'error' in the system. The other blamed it on 'only 2 people in the kitchen' while it was a quiet evening and the 3 tables that came after us had already finished their desert. And our main courses weren't that complicated. Lamb chop and pulled chicken. To make matters worse, after the main course, one colleague offered us the desert menu and 5 minutes later, when we wanted to order our desert, the other colleague bluntly announced that this would not be possible because the kitchen would have closed 10 minutes ago. Finally, I received a cold, weak, tasteless coffee, without a crema layer that probably still contained the poison from cleaning because they had already started cleaning the coffee machine. It was a surprise treat from my dearest friend on Mother's Day and I enjoyed the time with her there but this place really needs a floor manager to train, coach and teach the staff what hosting and hostessing is and to stay on the floor with each other communicate and pay attention to your guests. It is incomprehensible that none of the waiting staff, on such a not too busy evening, notice that a table has been without a main course for such an extremely long time. They only found out when, after waiting 1.5 hours, we indicated that we didn't think things were going well because we were still waiting for our main course. Too bad, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant because of the many hiccups of the service, even though the concept is nice and the food is delicious.

Disappointing experience in the Bistro. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived but the rest of the evening was a big disappointment. The waitress was very aloof, her attention very difficult to catch, even though there was only one table to attend in addition to ours. The food took ages to arrive and was, in the end, OK but not worth the wait.

We were really looking forward to this dinner but unfortunately it was very disappointing. It took 25 minutes after arrival before the waiter came by for the first drink. Unfortunately, things didn't get better after that and we had to keep asking for drinks and the option to order. Serving took a very long time. After 1 hour and 45 minutes the main courses arrived. The starters were great and very tasty! However, not the main courses. The risotto was like soup and tasteless except for the delicious meat. We asked for mayo with the fries, but it only came to the table after half an hour (even after asking a second time). By then the fries were already gone. When, after much deliberation, we decided to say something about this, the service handled this well, but we saw the service discussing with the manager who made it clear in the middle of the restaurant that he did not agree with our feedback. That gave an extra nasty experience, even though we were a nagging table that did not have to be taken seriously. Our feedback was genuine and we really are not difficult customers. We were disappointed with the evening and have the feeling that (given the attitude of the manager) nothing will be done with the feedback. Even now that we read feedback here after our evening and see that similar feedback was already given 4 months ago. It's a shame that Mondi is unable to improve. Regarding the price/quality ratio: We obviously found this far out of balance after this experience.

The food was so tasty, seriously very tasty, everything was packed with flavour. The highlights were definitely the crispy oysters with spinach and hollandaise sauce and the Oje de bife that melted in your mouth, truly sublime. The atmosphere was very pleasant, a DJ playing wonderful music, you really feel like you are in the Caribbean. The service was also excellent. If I could mention one negative point, it was the spaghetti with lobster, the spaghetti had a delicious taste and a nice surprise was that it was slightly spicy. I would have liked to see a little more lobster on my plate for €39, which was very poor for that price. Furthermore, a top experience all around.

Service was slow. We ordered the birthday package for a friend and our experience was no different to that of the table next to us. Overrated and over priced.

Lecker war es nicht! Schon beim Bestellen gab es Probleme so dass ich aktiv nachfragte, ob das was wir bestellt hatten auch als Order aufgenommen wurde. Es sollten je 2 Gratinierte Austern als 1st course und dann einmal Trüffel-Spaghetti und ein Ribeye-Steak mit frites als 2nd course. Hörte sich gut an… ALLES kam verspätet und GLEICHZEITIG. Wenn es dann wenigstens lecker gewesen wäre - was es leider nicht war. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ging nicht - insbesondere nicht für den Spaghetti-Appetizer (DEFINITIV war das kein Main-Course!) Das Ribeye war leider auch marginal und lauwarm. Wenigstens wurden die Austern dann nicht berechnet. Selbstredend gab es keinen Tip.

To keep it short, awful. Waited almost an hour just to not get the menu or the question what we would like to drink. Tried calling the server over five time with no succes. Ended up leaving disappointed. Never again

A really nice restaurant in a beautiful monumental building. It's nice that I went to school here! A really great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Really good service. Food is just good. Tasteful. Just very small portions with high prices. I thought a small portion of spaghetti with a few pieces of lobster for 39 euros was quite pricey. Not if it's a nice plate. This really wasn't enough for our son. Also 3 small pieces of octopus for 21 euros. It was also expensive for the price. It's a shame that it is being "exploited" so commercially. You must book in advance and pay 19 euros. If you come to eat there, you also have to pay for a DJ (€17.5) on Friday and Saturday. We had something fun to celebrate so you want something extra and then it doesn't really matter. Even though they have become very commercial, we had a pleasant evening. Oh yes, tissues at the urinals. How great!

Unfortunately not a good experience here. We went to Latin night today. Unfortunately there was no DJ to be seen and the atmosphere was hard to find. Service was terrible, it took a long time for food and drinks to be taken and you can wave until you weigh an ounce, but the service sees and walks around very limited. The food was also a bit disappointing. Especially for the price. Tacos tasted great but were cold and the quesillo cake didn't even remotely resemble a quesillo cake. All in all, a disappointment and overpriced.

We had a really great experience here, the food was also good. Gorge gave us some nice cocktails at the bar, the service was good as well.

The food was amazing and the cocktails outstanding! We had a great time at this caribbean restaurant and the service staff was great! My grandma had so much fun and it was her first time in a restaurant like yours. Thank you for making our night so special!

Unfortunately, my experience at restaurant 'Mondi' was not positive. Although we had chosen the “celebrate package” for our reservation, which included welcome drinks, we only received them after we had received our entree. The service was slow and it took a long time for us to place our order. It took almost an hour for our main course and dessert to arrive, and hardly any employees came by to ask if we wanted something to drink. Furthermore, the food was tasty but the value for money was disappointing due to the poor service ;(

Awful and expensive for what you get. Bad selection of music, extra to pay, and much too loud. Pre-heated and prepared food of low quality. Cocktails with much too much ice. Service was ok-ish but pushy. BIG NO-GO!

Great delicious food and great service

The food was tasty but the rest disappointment. I have reserved a celebration pachet for 5 people. The waiter didn't know anything about it, later came to exchange the menu list. The website states that in addition to the menu there were also balloons and decorations, but we received nothing. The restaurant was almost empty but no one came to us to ask if we wanted something to drink. I wanted to give my girlfriend a special evening for her birthday, but unfortunately it didn't work out.

Disapointing!!! Was our friend birthday and we booked a celebration package but they gave us big nothing! Not even some baloons! They forget what was suposed to be done .Barely they brought some fireworks with the ice cream , most probably because we ask for some discount! The waiter tryed unsuccesful to be friendly. Of course they made no discount even we did not receive what they promised. As the waiter said the manager does't agree to any discount but also does't bother to show up!Was cold inside . Any way we asked for a bottle with still water and after 10 min we were told that they don't have anymore the big ones , (we were their first customers)but they have smoll ones but more expensive!Than to the main course was a side dish and they said they don't have anymore what was in the menu. No problem, we agree to take what they offered. Surprise! We received what we were told is not available ! With the explanation : The cook change it! Still was our friend birthday and we didn't want to destroy completly fighting to them.We just paid such a bad service as a good one!

The restaurant is quite nice and I really appreciated the vibe and the good music (pity no one was dancing), but the waiting time are endless. We were not in a rush but 3h to dine seems a bit too much... The food was delicious although portions very small for the price, so we ended up getting full on fries and bread. Overall it was an okey experience but they could definitely improved.

I didn't have dinner at the restaurant, but I tried your "delicacies" on the Corendon Amsterdam-Curaçao flight: I burped and farted for almost the entire duration of the flight... And 10 hours is a long time, eh! What can I say, more than Mondi to me, your cuisine is something from Immondi.

Reserved for 2 people on Saturday evening. Had to pay 38 euros reservation costs, which unfortunately was not deducted from the receipt. (now I have to make an effort to get those 38 euros back) the atmosphere was cozy and the food was nicely prepared and served quickly. The service was good from Kennedy. We sat upstairs and it was really cold there, there was a crappy little heater that didn't work. Which meant ladies sat upstairs with blankets because it was so cold.

We had reserved online for 5 people for a 4-course menu for 37.50 pp. However, after our first drinks (where the service was already very insistent on ordering large beers or expensive cocktails = annoying) we were told that the price was 55 per person. After discussing it several times and each time coming back with another strange excuse (we had the reservation and price clearly on our phone), we were finally told as an excuse that we had to pay 17.50 extra per person for the live music. We finished our drinks and left, the service didn't seem to care. We ate at another restaurant nearby, which we certainly did not regret. NOT recommended, very unfriendly staff and not customer oriented!

I was really looking forward to try dinner at Mondi and curious to taste the Caribbean cuisine. Had to pay 57€ to be able to book at table, which is unusual and after actually going there I can say is absolutely outrageous. The restaurant was understaffed which made the waiting time extra long. Waiters were simply overwhelmed, we actually felt bad for them. The food was not bad but nothing exceptional either, nothing you can’t cook at home. It was actually missing spices and was quite bland. Definitely overpriced. Also the DJ was playing loud music and kept turning it up to the point where it wasn’t enjoyable anymore as you could barely speak to the person seated 30cm next to you. I believe this place is all about creating an experience and a vibe but honestly they are failing at doing it. Big flop, Will not be back.

Not recommended. Ordered the High tea in honor of a birthday. This was placed in front of us (without explaining the dishes) and after that no one came by our table to ask if we liked it, if we wanted another drink, to clear the table, etc. This while there was only one other person. table was occupied and two waiters were present. Very unfortunate, this poor service really detracted from the atmosphere.

After all the wonderful impressions on social media, we made a reservation for Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Once we arrived, we had to wait half an hour for the drinks to be taken and after waiting 1.5 hours for the first course (after speaking to the waiters 4 times), we decided to leave. We also heard the people next door complaining and we didn't feel like waiting another hour between courses. Since a deposit had already been made to confirm the reservation, I was advised at the location to email the story, but the management asked to get the deposit back, but no response so far! Unfortunately, my experience is VERY disappointing and the service/complaint handling could also be neater. Very sorry.

Passing through Amsterdam my mother and I Wednesday 17/01 in the evening as soon as we arrived from Paris and I don't regret it at all. Alexandra, despite my delay, was very welcoming, she put us at ease, immediately put us in the mood with little shots offered. The service provided by Kennedy, I don't know if that's really his first name, but Wow, perfect everything that professional and caring Paris lacks. Everything was good from starter to dessert. The atmosphere set by Juni Juliet took us on a journey, I will return there as soon as I am in Amsterdam!

Atmosphere was great, food was okay, but the service was really very, very bad...

Had lunch with the girls. We have never had such a bad experience. We were not greeted upon entering. An employee walked by twice and passed us by. No hello, good afternoon, completely NADA!! Finally we walked in and were assigned a table. The service was so ridiculously bad, wrong order received. Ultimately, the service employee politely told us that we were not satisfied with the service, etc. The service employee then presented this to his colleague. Apparently his colleague found this laughable, because my girlfriend saw and heard the conversation between the two employees and he simply laughed at him. My girlfriend was not happy about this and spoke to the employee about this, to which the employee literally said: you are not the only ones in the restaurant!! How dare you address your customers like that. 4 to 5 occupied tables. We were the only table having lunch at the time. The rest only had a drink. He was nowhere to be seen. He could at least apologize, but that didn't even come out of his mouth. I have worked in the catering industry for 16 years and also had a managerial position and have never experienced this in my life. Too ridiculous for words. They aren't even worth 1 star!!!

The service was bad. It started at the door with no one walking towards us to welcome us. Unfriendly staff, except for the intern who tried to do his best but left the permanent staff swimming. Food not what we were used to from the other Mondi location. Cold, greasy and too salty. Order went wrong twice. Not for repetition.

We ended up walking out after waiting 2 hours for food. At no point in that time had anyone come over to apologise for the wait, and they were all very aware that we were waiting. Disappointed is an understatement. We were very excited to try this Caribbean French fusion, and the food looked very good. It was a shame that we didn't manage to get any. The night started fairly promisingly, we were seated in the bar area and had a drinks and food order taken promptly. However this was the last impressive event of the night. Our starters did make it to the table, and were enjoyable. However the subsequent 100 minutes staring at our empty plates in front of us that were not cleared was less enjoyable. On several occasions we prompted the staff that we were still waiting for food, and even had to go up to the bar to order another drink, which took 20 minutes to arrive. My girlfriend and I eventually gave up and went to the cloakroom to collect our jackets, of which there was no attendant and resulted in another 10 minutes wait. Eventually after collecting our jackets we were met with a man carrying our food to the table. We politely declined saying that the moment had passed, and that it was no longer required. Maybe it's just because I'm British, but I expected some form of apology or at least acknowledgement of the fact that we had been waiting in the corner and forgotten about. However there was no sign of any customer service from the staff. The whole experience left my partner and I very frustrated and quite frankly angry. 1am not one for leaving negative reviews, and am always very polite to the staff as I understand how busy and stressful it can be, however there were very few people seated in the bar area which made it even more frustrating when others food arrived.

My first impression of the place when I came in was highly because got a lot of potential and if u choose for a Caribbean food concept you will be satisfied because the food is good not special . The atmosphere was happy and lot of people having fun in big groups that’s turning almost in a club. Sometimes was difficult to hold conversations on the table . The staff ohhhhh lord that is the big problem , not pay attention, not serving, not explaining anything and very very slow. For sure the place could be more upgraded. Definitely i will come back for the food.

We spend New Year’s Eve here and I must say that it wasn’t exactly what we expected. The food wasn’t really having the Caribbean influence as we had chefs menu which was consisting of carpaccio, salmon with broccoli and shortcake with ice cream. You could really taste that the dessert had been in a fridge for a while and the ice cream was super low quality. For the service, the people were nice but they did not seem to have really clue what was going on. It took as over an hour to get the appetiser, and none of the courses weren’t explained nor the whole chefs menu itself. Even when we asked about the food the waitress wasn’t sure what they were serving to us. Additionally, the restaurant was still rather empty when we arrived but it took us over half an hour that we could place our drink order. Overall a bit disappointing experience, the staff could maybe get a bit better onboarding and the menu could maybe be a bit more creative. Price value wasn’t really met.

THE BEST SPOT IN TOWN!!!! I have eaten at many places but MONDI definitely stands out, often it looks nice or is hyped but it is really not fancy, but NOT at MONDI. It not only looks delicious, it is dangerously delicious. The staff is really super attentive, not too much, not too little, just right! The atmosphere is really fantastic and I really wish everyone an evening like this! We went to the branch in South, on Wednesday evening with live music (pianist from Curaçao 🇨🇼) not only did he make music he created the atmosphere it was really 1 room everyone had fun the food was delicious in my opinion THE place of Amsterdam (I was born and raised in Amsterdam myself). Mondi keep it UP 👍🏾 I'm rooting for you ❤️

The restaurant was very nice and looked luxurious. Food were delicious 🥰 with nice presentation. Absolutely recommended.

Met een groep van 9 hier gegeten. Het eten is lekker, wijntjes en cocktails waren heerlijk maar de service kan vlotter! Moesten namelijk erg lang wachten op het eten en de rode wijn moest van ver worden gehaald. Er hangt een leuke sfeer en er was een live band die jazzmuziek speelde. We hadden een 4 gangen vooraf samengestelde shared dining menu, alle gangen waren smakelijk, de frietjes wel beetje koud geworden. Groot minpunt: Had een opgejaagd gevoel want na een toiletbezoek had de bediening ons tafel al afgeruimd terwijl we onze cocktails nog niet eens op hadden. We werden letterlijk weggejaagd en moesten vertrekken. Dat kan echt niet!

Sfeer was goed hele gezellige restaurant. Maar het menu 🤦🏻‍♀️ burger taco de jerk chicken wilde ik na de eerste hap niet eens verder eten. Caribbean 🤷🏻‍♀️ Wij waren met 8 mensen daar en maar 1 vond het lekker. (Lams) En we moesten best lang wachten dus we hebben het toch voor een gedeelde opgegeten. De frietjes en hun mondi saus was lekker tjah met frietjes kan het niet mis gaan en de kaasbal was ook lekker.

Het eten was geweldig. Maar de service deed zoveel afbreuk aan de belevenis, eigenlijk hopen we dat de chef voor een ander restaurant gaat werken. Dan komen we graag daar eten. Om te beginnen hebben drie kwartier gewacht op onze eerste drankjes. Dat zette de toon; vanaf dat moment werd het niet veel beter. Drie serveerders liepen hun benen uit hun lijf om alles uit te serveren. Terwijl de hostess, de barman en een serveerster kletsend achter bar bleven staan. De bar stond vol met drankbestellingen maar geen van hen dacht eraan om ze uit te serveren. En daarmee de drie collega’s te helpen. Uiteindelijk sprong er een medewerker uit de hotellounge bij. Hij heeft onze avond nog een beetje gered. Anders waren we nog voor het hoofdgerecht (na betaling van de drankjes) weggelopen. Hier wordt bijzonder weinig aandacht besteedt aan hospitality. Jammer van het verjaardagsdiner.

Mooie plek (the college foodbar). Mondi is veel te lawaaiig. Het eten is veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. Smaak is niet slecht maar ook niet bijzonder. De porties zijn klein en drinken is prijzig

Far far far too loud the "music" was so loud to be painful making any conversation a shouting competition. Food was OKish but SLOOOW in arriving. Drinks orders seem to take for ever and arrive piecemeal. Maybe a place for the younger juvenile set but not for people wanting a decent enjoyable evening out. I won't go there again!!!!

Mondi was a great experience the food took a while but was delicious. Our sever glorianne was super nice and our cocktails were yummy. Entertainment was great nice lively vibe perfect for my birthday evening thank you Mondi

Hele slechte bediening en regeling. Tot 3x werd ons eten vergeten of als fout in de keuken weg gezet. Werd niks aangeboden als goedmaker en bij het afrekenen stonden ook verkeerde gerechten op onze bon. Wij komen niet meer terug

Wat een verschrikkelijk slechte zaak. Eerst laten ze je lang wachten. Daarna verschillende dingen op. Vervolgens krijgen we ons eten niet tegelijk, en dan niet een minuut verschil maar ik had het gewoon al op. . Ik had de taco's werkelijk vijf keer om een bordje gevraagd. Er zat nog een tafel daar ging ook alles mis. Verkeerde bestellingen werden gebracht, stond 50 euro meer op de rekening. En als het nou druk was. We waren bijna de enige. Oh ja en de ober kon niets over de lunch vertellen want ja hij stond altijd diner.

Service was atrocious. We were able to order drinks from the beginning, but then had to wait 45 minutes to even get the menu. The atmosphere started off nicely, but then the dj kept upping the volume. I ended up with a headache, deprived of a nice conversation during our meal. The food and drinks we had were of varying quality. The flat bread tasted like it was pre-baked supermarket bread that was toasted before service. The awa de lamunchi was not freshly made. It tasted like a cordial type drink. The ribs were nice and juicy, but a but salty. The only good thing about our time here was the manager of the day. She was so sweet and so kind. Tried everything to make the bad service up to us. We will definitely not be returning to this place.

We hebben heerlijk gegeten. We werden eerst goed geserveerd, toen het drukker werd was de ober al weg. Sfeer was vrij rustig, geen muziek. Mooie restaurant met lekkere gekleurde banken.

Saved by the excellent food I went to Mondi Amsterdam with a couple of friends on a Sunday night. To my suprise the place was nearly empty. That did not mean that my food was served within a reasonable time. The service is far below what you would expect at such a high end restaurant. The waiting time was ridiculously long and the waiter managed to make several mistakes when taking our order. So why the 4 star review? In one word, the food! The food was absolutely delicious and made the waiting worth while. For starters we had delicious meat balls in an amazing sauce, nice banana chips and tasty flat bread with something they called humus. It wasn't really humus but delicious nonetheless. For the main course I shared a burger and ribs. Both small but really good. They made a mistake so we also got the chicken jerk which was truly heavenly. On the side I had some fries and a beautifully poured gin and tonic. Go to Mondi with patience because the food sure is worth it.

Restaurant to celebrate something at as the vibe is great. Food was good, drinks were great, but service was not the greatest. Acoustics aren’t great either.

Ik ben vaak langs dit restaurant gelopen maar wist nooit precies wat het was. Door een actie heb ik hier mijn verjaardag gevierd en ik had geen betere plek kunnen bedenken! Het eten is heerlijk, mooi opgemaakt en precies genoeg. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en sociaal. Heel erg bedankt voor het compleet maken van mijn dag! Ik zal hier zeker terug komen!

Kwam hierheen met hoge verwachtingen. Helaas niet waargemaakt. Op de wijnkaar 3 geproefd; 2 echt zuur en 1 matig, toch maar genomen uit beleefdheid. Eten oke, behalve seafood; tandenknarsend zand gevoeld ook nadat de maaltijd werd vervangen. Erg zonde, als je schelpdieren serveert, zorg er dan voor dat je weet hoe je het zand eruit spoelt.

Service is very slow. Food quite nice yet on the more expensive side. Atmosphere is very nice

They have funchi fries! (Fried polenta sticks). Served with grated Parmesan and chives, so careful when ordering if you are on a low FODMAP diet.

Unique experience in a great setting with good food and cocktails and an especially welcoming staff!

Heerlijk seizoen bier gedronken

Its a beautiful restaurant with terrasse and the food is delicious. Sadly is that the chef the service or owner is really unfriendly. We made a reservation where we told that we have a dog, it got confirmed. Then we asked for a table inside where the bartender gave us one. After we ordered water and took a look in the menue, the chef the service came all of the sudden and told us from far behind the bar, that dogs are not allowed. We told him we didnt and asked if outside is okay. He was so unfriendly and we just went outside. Also the barkeeper didnt said a word about it afterwards. I think, they both could handle it better than they did. Really dissappointing.

Hadden gereserveerd (en 35€ aanbetaald) voor 2 personen op zaterdagavond. Bij aankomst zei de gastheer dat het niet mogelijk was dat we een reservering hadden en het restaurant helemaal vol was. Na overleggen zei hij dat we geluk hadden en dat er nog een tafel vrij was. Bij binnenkomen in de zaal zagen we dat 1/3 van de tafels leeg was. Duurde een half uur voordat we onze drankjes hadden besteld (nadat we zelf personeel vroegen of we konden bestellen). Daarna al onze gerechten (weer nadat we zelf vroegen of we konden bestellen) doorgegeven. Vervolgens kwam het dessert, terwijl we nog op twee hoofdgerechten wachtten. De keuken was inmiddels al gesloten dus we konden niet veel meer doen dan aan het dessert beginnen en we waren ook wel klaar met het wachten en vragen. Toen we de rekening kregen, stonden er twee dingen op die we überhaupt niet besteld hadden, en was de aanbetaling er niet van af gehaald. Gelukkig was het eten dat we kregen erg lekker, maar het personeel op de vloer en in de keuken lijkt onderbemand waardoor de service niet in lijn staat met de prijzen, en de wachttijd veel te lang is. Erg jammer dat het zo’n slordige avond was.

The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Friendly staff, but a bit slow. We waited quite long before we got our food. Prices are very reasonable. The food is sophisticated with a Caribbean twist. The "funchi" sticks were to die for. We will definitely have dinner there again 😋

Allereerst zit restaurant zit verstopt in het hotel. Wellicht een bordje buiten ophangen, want het is best onduidelijk als je het niet weet. Het eten was wel lekker. Even wat anders dan normaal. Ruime keuze op het menu. Wij waren met een groep, waarvan de helft iets later drinken had besteld. Ons eten was er voordat hun drinken er was.. Ook werden vaak dingen vergeten en was het lastig om het personeel aan te spreken. Wel wil ik complimenten geven voor de host en een blonde jongeman (bediening) die hebben ons super goed geholpen, nadat we op veel dingen lang moesten wachten! De cocktails waren oke, maar smaakten elke keer anders.. De DJ was echt goed aan het draaien. Jammer dat iedereen maar saai zat.. Maar goed daar kan het restaurant natuurlijk niets aan doen. Al met al, zeker een leuke vibe, live DJ, lekker eten. Over het algemeen wel prima cocktails. Service had echt beter gekund.
