Mr. Finch in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

I’ve been coming here regularly and always enjoyed the atmosphere and cocktails. Lately though, the service and quality of the drinks have really gone downhill, which is such a shame to see. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but unfortunately I won’t be coming back.

Very friendly waiters, pleasant setting and atmosphere. The price for cocktails is between 11€ and 15€. I had the habaneiro de Janeiro cocktail, and I confirm that it is very good (with cachaca) and spicy (chili in the glass), it is worth the detour I recommend it, it is 14.50€. Another detail that is worth its importance, a carafe of water and glasses are served without even asking.

Good place for cocktails. Cocktails are generally quite pricey, but here you get a bottle of water and even watermelon chunks. The non-alcoholic ones were very sweet and a bit heavy, but not bad.

2nd visit June 2025: A great visit once again! Fabulous cocktails and great service continue. 1st visit September 2023: It was the luck of the Irish that we found this great cocktail bar, and then went back a second time! Fabulous cocktails! Can't say that enough. Great staff, so friendly and super professional. Highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting again when in Utrecht.

Great experience, it was cozy and bar staff makes a chat, they can make everything and are happy to tell you about the possibilities and the chosen cocktails. Super fun, reservation is really a plus otherwise the chance that you can sit here is small.

We just popped into Mr. Finch for a quick drink, but seriously impressed! They have a great selection of alcohol, and the bar itself was really impressive. The drinks were flavorful, and the vibe was cozy and stylish — perfect for unwinding. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a great spot to come back to!

Last week we could go here with a bachelor party, unexpectedly our previous location was not available. At Mr Finch they were flexible, thought along with us and completely saved our afternoon: good service, tasty cocktails and snacks. Really a place to go back to!

Mr Finch welcomed us when we were abandoned during a bachelor party somewhere else. Almost immediately we were able to go with a group for a cocktail workshop and they were also thinking about follow-up activities and dinner planning. Friendly and inclusive bar staff who clearly know what they are doing. Also in the workshop there was good explanation and also a very nice atmosphere. I will definitely come back again.

If you like mice, you've come to the right place. We saw several mice wandering around the bar-restaurant. They're not afraid at all. They seem used to it. We pointed it out to the waiter. He told us he knew and that they were everywhere. Long live hygiene... Never again, we'll be back!

I like heater which keeping us warm while sitting outside. Service is good. Food is ok, I’m disappointed with calamari which is not nice at all cos it’s different squid and hard, but we finished it anyway.

Have been there several times, but tried dinner for the first time. Coctails are always great. This time we tried shared dinner for two. The portions were big and the food was delicious. Recommended

Good snacks and drinks selection. Prices are fine, so as service and atmosphere. I found my pina colada alike cocktail a bit too simple and lacking flavor, however I wouldn’t call it bad either. Just mediocre. Nachos were on the upper side, we enjoyed them. Overall, I can recommend the place.

Extremely rude waiter or owner, he spoke to us in a very condescending and rude way when my friend simply asked if the place serves shots of a certain liquour. The owner immediately told us to get out and go to the bodytalk because he doesnt run that kind if establishment after we spent 93 euros on cocktails. He gave us a look of disgust and immediately turned and laughed at us with his other colleagues. I do not recommend this place at all. He also was rude everytime he served us a drink like he didnt want us there.

Great place for drinks and cocktails! Our favourite cocktail bar in Utrecht, with friendly service and endless options. If you cannot find anything you like on the menu (which is difficult) or you are feeling adventurous, just ask for something special based on your wishes and they will make something for you. Once a month they organize a cocktail workshop, which is very highly recommended. Very fun to do for couples or groups of friends.

It might be a bit pricey when it comes to cocktails but you get a whole experience and the professionalism of the bartenders. They know what they are doing and they are excellent at it. If you tell them: "I want a cocktail that smells like Xmas in my grandparents house", they will make something for you and it will be the SHIT. Honestly amazing and we come back here so often. The staff is great and very helpful. Try it for yourself and then judge. Ask the Greek bartender guy wearing black about anything on cocktails and be amazed to have your wishes come to life. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Mi esposa y yo visitamos para comer algo y algunos cócteles. Cuando llegamos el lugar estaba bastante vacío (era un lunes por la noche). Nos sentamos en una mesa y nos ofrecieron menús. Pedimos varios cócteles y debo admitir que todos eran muy buenos. Tengo que felicitar al barman por su oficio a pesar de que el lugar es tranquilo, los cócteles se hicieron con precisión. Pedimos el plato de aperitivos para 2 que era genial y realmente vale la pena el precio. El servicio de la camarera (no consiguió un nombre, pero ella es de Grecia) fue excelente. Hizo un cóctel específicamente para satisfacer el gusto de mi esposa que luego hizo el barman. Sin duda un gran lugar para una bebida y algo para comer.

Mr Finch is the most professional bar establishment I have ever been in. You don't just get drinks here, you get and experience and an education. If you don't know what you want just ask. They will ask the questions and find just the right cocktail. I wish I had access to a place like this in the States. The search will continue.

The drinks are okay, but overrated. The four of us wanted to have a drink, but we were refused because the door reportedly wouldn't open anymore, which was absolute nonsense. Normally a good bar, but the waiter that night was an arrogant know-it-all.

I've visited this bar a few times during work trips and have always enjoyed their drinks. However, after our recent experience, we won’t be returning. Last week, a group of 8 of us came in for after-dinner drinks. While enjoying our first round and having conversations, we were told we were being too loud. It was surprising and disappointing to be reprimanded for simply chatting in a bar setting. We decided to leave instead of ordering more drinks. Unfortunately, this experience soured what could have been another enjoyable visit.

Very busy inside, you can't stand anything, you're almost sitting on each other's laps. Sat here for 1 minute but left out of discomfort.

Great cocktails, but the last time we were approached very strangely by a somewhat younger, club-like staff member. First he very sarcastically repeated our “thank you” when we received our order and later that evening, when he himself intervened in our conversation, I was arrogantly called s u k k el when I said something. It was a bit like he was trying to compensate for his social awkwardness by acting so strange, but we were anything but pleased with it. Too bad, because it is a nice cocktail bar otherwise.

Went last night for a few cocktails. Loved it. The guy with the cute blue blouse was so friendly and so were the people behind the bar. Cocktails tasted very good, we had pornstar martinis and moscow mules. Would definitely recommend and we will be going again next time we're in Utrecht. Thank you guys, we had a great time ♥️

Good cocktails and bar snacks, great service even when busy

Went last night, didn't go very well. I had to ask for the bill 3 times and the waiter seemed to forget it every time. Finally I walked to the cash register myself. I can imagine that people leave the business at such a time without paying. Cocktails were fine.

Best cocktail bar I know in Utrecht. Located in a busy alleyway, nice and cozy. We ordered Pisco Elderflower Sour and Dry Martini, all tasted great. They offered three gin choices for the dry martini. While observing the staff, I noticed a careless mistake. As they were loading glasses into the dishwasher, dirty water splashed onto my face.

Lovely cocktail bar. They can make anything I've ever craved and more than I can imagine. They also have a decent whisk(e)y selection spanning the gammut! New world, old world, peaty & smokey to sweet & spicy. Scotch? You betcha! Irish? Yup. Japanese? Absolutely! Bourbon? Obviously! Rye? Of course. They even have a bottle of white dog and a bottle from local distiller at the moment. It's not common for a cocktail bar to have more than munchies - fries at most. But they have a salad, flammkuchen, calamari, patas, and gyoza in addition to the standard fare of Bitterballen, fries, nachos, and tendies. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing staff! Seriously the best customer service in the whole city. Yannick makes you whatever you ask for, Sasha is always friendly & engaging, and my man Simon will surprise you with a drink that tastes like nothing else.

This place is so lovely!! Simon was a warm and welcoming presence that made us feel at home and taken care of. They can make any cocktail as long as their well stocked bar has the ingredients.

Mr. Finch may be the best place for cocktails in Utrecht at the moment. The staff is very helpful and fun, loved how the bartender was chatting with us while preparing the cocktails. The bites are delicious too but the cocktails are the main stars of the show. I really liked how for one of the cocktails we ordered you could choose in which “fun glass” you’d prefer your drink in, the personalization added a really exciting touch to the experience. The menu offers lots of unique beverages to choose from alongside the classics.

I've been coming here for a number of years. This is really one of the better cocktail bars I know. Quality is always good, location is fantastic and the staff is professional and pleasant! 10/10

Staff was very friendly and recommended some cocktail options to me, and even made me a custom version of one of their cocktails to make a smoky and spicy version! The place also has a nice ambiance. Recommend stopping in for a cocktail.

Three years in Utrecht and I’d never been to Mr. Finch. Boy, do I regret that now! Our group of six was welcomed warmly and they made a real effort to seat us together. The bartenders, dressed to impress and sporting big smiles (with the occasional serious cocktail-making face), crafted the best cocktails in town. Our Irish maestro, Sasha, worked his magic and showed us how cocktails are truly meant to be made.

The given menu has a lot of variation already, but the most amazing thing is that if you feel like a certain vibe/cocktail that is not on the menu, you can just tell the staff what you want (even if it's very vague) and you'll get that! The staff is super friendly and the cocktails are all absolutely delicious. Even the food that they offer is very well made and could compete with normal restaurants. I love coming here and would recommend anyone who's looking for a nice place for cocktails to give Mr. Finch a visit!

Followed the "girls night out" workshop here with a group as part of a bachelor party. This was really well taken care of! The non-alcoholic cocktails were also top notch. Highly recommended to follow a workshop here!

Still our absolute favorite for cocktails! I have been coming here for several years now, and in my opinion there is no other place that serves the same quality of cocktails. The bar staff has excellent knowledge and is also willing to think along and make a good recommendation (which they are rarely wrong about). The food is of the same good quality. After the renovation, the ambiance has only improved.

Very strange about this Cocktail "Bar"?? is that you are not allowed to stretch your legs at your reserved high table. You are then kindly but urgently asked to sit down. Force majeure due to the granted permit, that one can only consume while sitting, does not seem to me to be a valid reason. After all, you don't open a club at a location where dancing is not allowed or the music is not loud. By the way, just walking in is not possible here, reservations are required. Is this the new business card of Utrecht? Too bad, because it looks nice and cozy in a beautiful location.

Leuke spontane tent. Je ziet hem in het ogenblik niet snel zitten maar binnen hangt er een gezellige en rustige sfeer. De bediening is top en het eten was geweldig. Het concept van “shared dining” is top!

Ik en 2 andere vrienden kwamen bij Mr.Finch terecht per ongeluk. We wereld hartelijk en warm verwelkomd door een medewerker. Zijn naam werd ons later bekend als Simon. We waren al gek van whisky's maar wat hij ons liet zien was echt te gek. We zijn nu echt nu echt verslaafd aan whisky's. We hebben nog gevraagd of hij aanstaande dinsdag moest werken. Maar helaas. Succes bij de tandarts. Ik zal sowieso bij Mr.Finch aanwezig zijn met mijn klant als al jouw collega's hetzelfde zijn als jij! Dank je wel Simon!

I only got to try 3 drinks, I’m very determined to go back regularly to eventually try them all. Their cocktails menu is so fun and diverse! All the ones we tried were delicious. The server was a lovely person who made sure all the tables were taken care of although the place was very busy. The location was in a cute little alleyway and the venue is very pretty. Will be back!
