Delicious food and drinks. Super versatile menu with a large variety of delicious roasted vegetable dishes. Beers were also very special. From accessible blond beers to an Imperial stout that was more like natural wine. And super friendly service. Highly recommended!

For me (not a beer drinker) it was ok-ish. Maybe because I had high expectations from recommendations from friends. I felt sortof neglected due to the non-beer pairing; there was no focus on if I had a drink at all. The food started really great, but from course 3 onwards the flavours weren't to my taste. I would not recommend, especially when you won't take the beer pairing.

Outrageously expensive. It is not clear in advance what the prices are. Food consists of small dishes that are interspersed with a beer selection. There is also no clear pricing policy known. The settlement is therefore shocking. In short: a concept restaurant that will not last long.

1 warning: you have to be really hungry. The food is delicious, the portions are generous (larger than I expected). And if you add the cote de boeuf you get really deliciously tender meat. Nice that you immediately get a beer when you sit down. In our case, we said we were crazy about sours, and we also got a beer from our favorite brewery Vault City. I would definitely recommend eating here.

The perfect place to celebrate my birthday! Cozy, private and great staff. The food was delicious. I have a plant-based diet and allergies so it's hard to find good fine dining restaurants. Feu and their staff are creative with both the flavors and the presentation of the dishes. And the beer pairing was perfect. I loved that they had a non-alcoholic option for my girlfriend and also a meat option for the non-vegetable guests.

Would give a 3,5 if I could. Great food, and the beer pairings are both unique and super tasty! But we were far from full at the end of quite an expensive meal. Seemed like if you didn't order meat (which we didn't), you didn't get any replacement for it? They just gave you the same dish, without meat. Which of course isn't very filling, and also a strange experience at a vegetarian focused restaurant. So great experience, but we did end up getting falafel an hour later.

This place is simply amazing! It’s contemporary fine dining with an artistic twist. Elegant vibes with excellent original music to match it perfectly. The chef is full of passion for cooking, art and music. He has travelled around the world and perfectly blends the flavours and ingredients of Eastern and Western cuisines to create delicious authentic dishes! The taste is fantastic and the presentation is simply immaculate! The restaurant is beautifully decorated by paintings by the chef himself, and he also plays his original music to complement the ambience nicely! A multi-talented man of passion. I tried the Groentemenu and it was simply outstanding. I am from India, living in Japan and well travelled across Europe but I tasted amazing flavours that I have simply never experienced before! The pairing of the drinks to match the food is perfect. The chef and the waiters are extremely friendly and always smiling which further enhances the experience! If you’re in Utrecht or even Amsterdam for that matter, this restaurant is a must visit. I’d like to thank Ernst and his team for one of the best dining experiences of my life and wish them success and hope he can expand his delicacies beyond borders. Dank je!

The dishes are all tasty, although some might be a bit more challenging and experimental than what you might be used. Definitely worth the experience though. Had a fantastic evening at Feu yesterday! Beautiful, tasty vegetable dishes prepared on an open fire, accompanied by matching beers in surprising styles. In addition, the service was also great! Really knowledgeable but also personal, pleasant and super friendly. What a special experience!

Fantastic restaurant with a quirky style. All dishes are prepared on an open fire and supplemented with delicious, balanced supplements. The food is of high quality and the decor is simple and accessible, so everyone can feel comfortable. In addition, in addition to being a committed host, Jerome was a real beer connoisseur and the beers were perfectly chosen with the dishes. All dishes are vegetarian and delicious, but if you, as a flexitarian, would also like a nice piece of meat, you can order this. Highly recommended and five stars well deserved!

Hospitality at its best. We were here on the (sunny) terrace for a drink before we went to our reservation in another restaurant, and in addition to our drinks we were also spontaneously offered some delicious snacks. It was delicious. We will definitely come back here!

Very tasty food, with nice non-alcoholic beer pairings. I must honestly admit that at the end of the evening we were slightly surprised at the cost of the drinks. Great service: very friendly. Small tip/request as a vegetarian: cooking is done on plates over an open fire. Personally, I didn't really like the fact that meat was prepared on the same plates as the vegetables. Although I ate very well, I don't know if I would come again very soon or recommend it to others who eat vegetarian or vegan.

Feu confirms that you don't need meat to create a very varied menu. The courses were all very tasty, the structure of the menu was good (from fresh to a bit heartier and fresher again with dessert) and the beers (including the non-alcoholic options) matched the dishes well. The only thing I hadn't realized about a beer pairing is that beer is quite filling, so after the extra meat course (because even though meat is not needed for a good menu, it was very tasty) and extra cheese course, you could... rolling out of the restaurant. So tip: if you plan to take all the courses, skip your lunch for example ;)

We(3 people), were introduced to this restaurant as a ‘fine dining restaurant,’ with beer pairing, and all were excited to experience this restaurant. But got very disappointed from the first dish, of a ‘daikon meal’ topped with cinnamon type of crunches. The first ‘cut’ into the daikon by all of us tilted our head, with the lukewarm soup that was served in a Japanese kettle, (which did, in fact), excite us that this first dish would be awesome, with this special way of serving the soup. But, no…the cut into the daikon absolutely represented our doubt, as we even tasted the daikon. I took it as positively, as, ok…this must just be a ‘new type of fusion dish,’ as it was also served with cinnamon type of crunch flavors..but daikons are not meant to be served in this manner, if a chef knew how daikon dishes are supposed to be served. The beer also clashed with this dish. We looked forward for the 2nd dish to arrive, as the 1st did not please us, but the 2nd, going onto the 3rd, 4th, further disappointed us in flavor and with the beer pairing. All of us could not even eat the 4th dish…it was too dark in flavor, using shiitake mushroom as its main, (my favorite mushroom!!) and the appearance of the dish surprised us all, as we thought something ‘burned’ had come in front of us. The taste clashed with all ingredients of this dish, as well as with their choice of dark beer. With this 4th dish, the meat dish came together, time-wise. The waitress came to us, to ask us of our feedback with this new dish, as it was their first time serving this dish, and also, perhaps, with asking us if we were full, because we pretty much could not bear to even eat half of the dish, with the taste. My friend started replying politely, that it was a bit heavy in taste, but the waitress just walked away in mid sentence to the feedback, which we felt it was quite rude. We were pretty surprised to see that the chef(?)left the restaurant after making the 3rd dish, and a new chef cooked the 4th and meat dish. Sorry to say, but I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Especially as a ‘fine dining restaurant,’ , as well as the beer tasting. It would be a shame to call this ‘fine dining’ in Utrecht, and to bring down the name of Utrecht. The after taste of the dishes was ingrained in my taste buds till the next day, bringing not just myself, but to all 3 of us, the taste of the dishes. Till this day..(we went here about 3 weeks ago…) when I see shiitake into my dish, it brings back the aweful memory of its 4th dish, and I keep anything that looks ‘black’ on my plate non-touched. We feel it was so unprofessional to serve the customers as Guinea pigs to their first time-serving dish, let alone call it vegetarian, as it represents the worst of all vegetarian dishes. So sorry to say, but up until this ‘experience,’ with every fine dining restaurant, the chef was proud to represent their dishes. Such a shame that the chefs just walks out on its customers to not even finish the whole course dishes.

Very tasty food! And nice service. The decoration is a bit sober, but in the end it's all about the food and drinks. And it is prepared with a lot of attention and love.

Don't be put off by the somewhat faded curtains, tiles and ambiance. This is really about the food. This is how vegetarian food can taste! Incredibly rich in impressions, not to mention the brilliant pairings with the beautiful beer flight that was served per dish. The combos are special and the beer is a real added value to the course. An absolute must. The playlist is also nice :-)

Great meal, for the Cote de boeuf you have to contact us a day in advance, this was stated in the reservation confirmation email (does anyone read that, except for the subject line?), but not on the online menu.

What a wonderful experience, this restaurant! We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome, the delicious food (both ALL varied vegetarian dishes and meat), the beer selection, the wine, the creativity of the chef, the enthusiastic and cheerful approach to the service and the nice atmosphere. It is also striking how much care was paid to dietary requirements (gluten-free and a specific allergy). In one word TOP, unique, and definitely recommended!

And then that vegetarian food, I didn't expect that I would like it so much. Another star in Utrecht next year?

Nice tent, nice concept. But the beer approach is nice but above all very expensive and heavy with 6 courses (sharing 1 can together for 12 euros per course is especially smart..). Asking for a glass of wine leads to confusion and little to no choice. It's nice to ask if you can add some extra meat to a course. But 18 euros extra afterwards? Food very variable. Great corridor with sand root. Very bad one with a lettuce leaf with split peas. So. Nice tent, nice concept. Not entirely successful.

Wat hebben we een geweldige avond gehad bij restaurant Feu! Hier móét (oké mag haha) je een keer gegeten hebben. Bij elke gang zeiden we tegen elkaar: dít is m’n favoriete gerechtje van de avond! Er is ook een zeer mooi alcohol vrij arrangement waar de drankjes soms nog verrassender waren dan de biertjes. We hebben 6 gangen gegeten met bijpassende bieren, eigenlijk andersom want het gerecht is hier rond het biertje bedacht. Prachtig van binnen en service uitmuntend, onze complimenten! Wij komen zeker terug.

Heerlijk 6 gangen menu met uitstekende bierpairing in een sfeervol en vurig restaurant. Vriendelijke ontvangst en warm afscheid. Echt een avondje uit. Tot snel!

Ik was hier van de week met mijn vrouw en vond het helemaal top. Je kunt kiezen tussen 4,5 of 6 gangen. De basis is dus groente. Het is groente die je heus wel eens eerder hebt gegeten, maar de bereiding is zodanig, dat je opeens beseft hoe lekker die groente wel is. Wij kozen voor 4 gangen en een gang met vlees. Alles was echt heerlijk. Overigens was dat vlees niet echt nodig. Een volgende keer doen we gewoon 5 of 6 gangen zonder vlees. Ze baseren het menu op het speciale (en beperkt verkrijgbare) bier dat ze inkopen. Zo wijzigt het menu vrij constant, waardoor de gangen twee maanden later weer allemaal anders zijn. Zeer bijzonder concept en een aanrader voor wie zich dit kan veroorloven

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten bij Feu! De bediening was top. Ze hadden veel kennis over de gerechten en de bieren die ze serveerden. Het restaurant is van buitenaf niet helemaal goed zichtbaar. Maar niets is beter dan een verborgen parel ;-).

Heerlijke avond gehad met verrukkelijke gerechten, lekkere drankjes en top bediening.

Met het 6 gangen menu en bier arrangement hebben wij ons compleet laten verrassen. Er was ook een zwangere aanwezig in ons gezelschap, wie (naar mijn inzicht) tevreden was over de mate waarin daar rekening mee werd gehouden en zij daardoor toch van (bijna) alles mee kon proeven. De gerechten waren gedurfd en uiteenlopend, die ik het best zou omschrijven als "eetbare kunst". Er zat een mooie opbouw in de smaken en de intensiteit, waardoor het een mooi geheel vormde. Ik eet niet uitsluitend vegetarisch, maar als je zo lekker met groenten kunt koken, is er geen vlees of vis meer nodig. Het voelde niet alsof er iets ontbrak. De bieren liepen ook ver uiteen; zoet, hoppig, bitter, banaan, kersen, er kwam van alles voorbij. Zo ook een zuur bier, waar ik normaal gesproken niet van houd, maar in dit geval zorgde het bijbehorende gerecht voor de juiste balans en daarmee een verrassend leuke smaak ervaring; echt iets wat je niet verwacht. Al met al een hele leuke ervaring die ik zeker zou aanraden! En nee, het is inderdaad niet goedkoop maar er wordt hier echt gekookt (geen frites), je zit voor de hele avond gebakken (6 gangen) en je kunt je geld echt een stuk minder leuk uitgeven ;-)

Heerlijke avond gehad hier! Feu is écht leuk. Echt anders dan andere restaurants met de super leuke bierpairing bij originele en mega lekkere gerechten. Daarnaast is het personeel geweldig, en dat is niet vanzelfsprekend in de horeca. We komen gauw weer!

Heerlijk gegeten. Veel combinaties bij de diverse gangen met mooie wijnen en verrassende biertjes. Wij hadden een menu met vlees. Puur en zonder extra toevoegingen fantastisch klaar gemaakt. Zeer mals en smaakvol. Dit restaurant is een aanrader of je nu vegetarisch bent of ook graag vlees of vis eet. Er is voor iedereen voldoende keus.

Misschien het beste stuk vlees dat ik ooit heb gegeten in een Nederlandse restaurant. Dessert op basis van vijgen. Daar heb ik er twee van gegeten terwijl ik geen dessert liefhebber ben. Op hout gestookte grill. Goede producten. Onderscheidend concept.

Evry time I discover new tastes and structures.

Ontzettend leuk als je van bier en vegetarisch eten houdt. Voor mij was het eerste gerecht op basis van pruim, echt heel lekker en goed in balans. Alles daarna was niet smaakvol, erg (heel erg) hoog op smaak, sommige smaken clashte met elkaar en ik heb van de 6 gangen er 1 helemaal op en 1 een beetje. Vooral heel jammer dat het dessert echt niet lekker was, dat had in elk geval een goede afsluiter kunnen zijn. Het was te heftige qua smaken, een dessert moet toch een beetje zoet en/of fris zijn maar dit gerecht was vooral weeïg en gaf geen lekker mondgevoel. Ijs had een rare structuur en smaakte onprettig. De bediening was super 10/10, wat een leuke gozer en inspirerend om iemand met zoveel passie te horen praten over biertjes. Groot nadeel aan Feu vond ik de extreme hitte, ook de sfeer is een beetje oud, koud en ietwat rommelig. Voor zes gangen vega menu met 1 persoon bier was het €165. Ik had zelf 1 wijntje en 2 flessen water. Wat ik persoonlijk heel jammer vond is dat volle borden werden meegenomen en er wel netjes werd gevraagd of het had gesmaakt maar er weinig mee werd gedaan. Als iemand vd 6 gangen 5 borden terug laat sturen dan kun je er gerust vanuit gaan dat je klant nog honger heeft. Goed nieuws voor de veganisten onder ons want je kan er eventueel 100% veganistisch eten. Meer te lezen op mijn ig meliciousfoodandmore.

De drank was een zure aangelegenheid. Mooie bieren, maar vooral sours, met een abrupte overgang naar een stout. Daar zat weinig balans in, hoewel de pairing met het eten perfect was. De wijn was een grote teleurstelliing. Veel natuurwijnen (ook zuur) en voor een ander "passend glas" kon ik kiezen uit 2 alternatieven: 1 per glas, 1 per fles. (We hadden een niet-bierdrinker aangekondigd in de reservering). Eind van de avond vertraagde het tempo en zaten we aan een lege tafel duimen te draaien tot het volgende gerecht kwam. D'r waren nog wat andere kleine dingetjes waardoor de hele avond wat teleurstellend was. Jammer, want het idee van groenten, vuur en bier is spectaculair. Nu schijnt het menu vaak te wisselen, dus misschien hadden we pech met zo'n zure avond.

Great food, the variety is excellent. Every dish has it's smokey flavour worked into it in some way, shape or form. The beer pairing was also spot on. They complimented the food perfectly. Our waitress explained every course very detailed and the service was great. She also helped us with suggesting non alcoholic beverages for the designated driver. 5 stars!

Wat een verrassingen! Ook als je af mag rekenen.. dat is toch wel de nasmaak die je overhoud aan het verder heerlijke eten en bierproeverij. Leuke frisse ober die de avond heeft gemaakt. Zonder kaart werd ons een 6 gangenmenu met een bier arrangement aanbevolen. Voor de gene die geen bier lust werd een overheerlijke wijn gepresenteerd. Stuk voor stuk heerlijke gangen, gecombineerd met verrassende speciaalbiertjes voorgeschoteld door een enthousiaste ober die elk gerecht en biertje leuk wist te presenteren. MAAR.. of het €175,- waard was voor 2 personen?? Reken dat zelf maar uit Edit; de reactie gelezen. Als je zonder kaart werkt moet je kunnen begrijpen dat mensen ontgoocheld zijn als ze na twee soepele zinnen van de ober op het eind van de avond 175 euro moeten afrekenen. Een bier arrangement van €37,50 pp voor iemand die geen bier lust... dus 1 ster voor de prijs meegenomen (stond niet op de google-kaart) to 4,5 ster voor de rest. 3 sterren met een gouden randje dus. Maar ik bekijk het positief! Als we het hadden geweten hadden we het niet gedaan. Gemiste kans Fijne avond

Personally, I’m not a beer fan — so I was surprised how much I enjoyed the beer pairing! Great experience overall and wonderful attentive and friendly staff.

Super! Heerlijke, verrassende gerechten. Allemaal groente in combinatie met heerlijke en verrassende biertjes. Gebracht door een enthousiaste ober. Erg leuk concept! Aanrader. De sfeer in het restaurant sluit niet volledig aan bij het waanzinnige concept. Maar dat valt wel weg als je de lekkere gerechten en bieren voorgeschoteld krijgt.

Dit was goed eten en drinken. Het vuur duidelijk aanwezig in alle gerechten, die weer klopten bij de bieren. Aanrader. De Tomahawk naast ons zag er ook smakelijk uit als toevoeging mocht je daar behoefte aan hebben

Verfrissend concept van bier pairing ipv wijnen, met daarbij een waanzinnig vegetarisch menu in de hoofdrol. Ieder gerecht heeft op z’n minst één ingrediënt het houtvuur geraakt wat de gerechten tot een hoger niveau brengt en een rode lijn verweeft door het menu. Het koreaanse gerechtje met opperdoezer aardappels, radijs, rettich en yuzu was voor mij de sterspeler van vanavond. Gele bietensoep met gegrilde ananas was ook fantastisch. De bier pairing was goed opgebouwd en brengt een dieper en breder smaakpalet dan de standaard wijnpairing. Service was top, komt natuurlijk en met passie over. Inrichting zou nog meer aandacht naar mogen gaan. De bar en keuken hebben een mooie prominente rol in het restaurant zonder te veel aandacht op te eisen. De rest zou nog wat meer match met het concept van het restaurant mogen krijgen, maar dit is wellicht logisch gezien het nog een relatief nieuw restaurant is. Aanrader!

Fantastich! 6 gangen met groenten in de hoofdrol, in combinatie met unieke bieren (of heerlijke kombucha's, 0.0 dranken als je geen alcohol drinkt!). De gerechten zijn stuk voor stuk hoog op smaak, uniek en verrassend. De bediening is super oplettend en laagdrempelig. Sfeer is heel goed! We vonden het een klein nadeel dat we op de 6e gang best een tijdje moesten wachten, wegens de drukte in de keuken en bij de bediening. Zo werd het een behoorlijk lange avond - maar wij hebben enorm genoten en komen graag nog een keertje terug!

Als niet vegetarier echt heerlijk gegeten. De gerechten zijn divers, verrassend en mooi bereid. De bier pairing was ook top. Kortom: een heerlijk avondje tafelen. Aanrader!

Waaauw echt lekker een echte aanrader hoe lekker kan je hier eten zoveel leuke lekkere gerechten hier ga je zeker niet met honger van de tafel en natuurlijk ik heb alles opgegeten ben helemaal van België gekomen voor het befaamde Van Gogh's gerecht rode kool met knoflook wat een topper al de gerechten zijn helemaal af groenten bier en vuur zijn hier de hoofdzaak alles met aangepaste bieren of wijn en zelfs niet alcoholische drankjes verkrijgbaar ik was helemaal fan de ice tea gemaakt van bloemen. Ernst het was top !!!! En al het personeel jullie hebben dit zeer goed gedaan ik voelde me zo welkom hier ❤️

Very nice experience in this restaurant. For sure a dinner out of the ordinary. The combination of special beers with very nice vegetarian dishes is very pleasant and interesting. It was a fun and special evening, something to talk about the next day!

Geweldig gegeten én genoten. Meer dan eten alleen, meer een smaak beleving. Dat gecombineerd met enthousiasme voor de producten vanuit de bediening maakte het een geweldige avond. Sommige gerechten heel toegankelijk, andere minder, maar dan weer niet minder lekker. Hele goede bier pairing, hier word ik (en het gezelschap) erg gelukkig van.
