I would recommend Mr. Porter solely for the food, which was excellent. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing — the service was inattentive, the music was far too loud, and the “Chef’s Corner” is a terrible place to sit: extremely warm and even noisier than the rest of the restaurant.

Eating here every month, Sebastian is always taking good care of me and he and the other waiters are really attentive, Sebastian always has nice recommendations about the food and wine so he is a G. Give that man a triple raise!

My favourite place to go out for dinner

After our last experience a view weeks ago, we were very dissatisfied. Yesterday, we enjoyed a very nice lunch at Mr. Porter. We received the service we expect from a top-notch restaurant.

I ordered a sirloin steak (medium), but it came out cold. When I complained, they just reheated the same steak and served it back to me, which was still disappointing. No compensation, . Overall, it was an average experience, definitely not worth the price.

The restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere, live DJ. Unfortunately we had to sit at the bar next to the door leading to the terrace (for the smokers) and people were constantly coming in and out cause a freezing breeze in and out. Very bad seats in an otherwise very nice restaurant. The food was very good, but 3 starts because of value for money.

We made a group reservation, but perhaps because it was Saturday night, they only offered the chef's set menu. They said they couldn't exchange it for a la carte because everything was already prepared in advance. The starters and carpaccio were served in a jumbled order, and the main course wasn't as tasty as I'd hoped. The music later turned into a club-level EDM, making conversation impossible during the meal. It took three and a half hours for all the courses to be served. I highly recommend this place.

Still going strong Mr. Porter is a modern meat restaurant with style and a trendy vibe – see and be seen without being superficial. It belongs to the Izakaya Group, which also operates concepts like Momo in Amsterdam and Izakaya in Munich. The standards are correspondingly high – and they are met. The heart of the restaurant is, of course, the meat: first-class cuts, perfectly prepared, for 2–4 people upon request. The steaks are of excellent quality – whether fillet, ribeye, or tomahawk. Not cheap, but absolutely fair for what you get. The atmosphere is lively, urban, with an international touch. The wine selection is excellent, and the advice is well-founded. The service team was consistently attentive, friendly, and well-organized during our visit. A particularly positive aspect: There was a vegetarian in our group – the small but well-thought-out plant-based offering was also really good. Small starters with lots of greens, umami, and texture, surprisingly sophisticated and very flavorful. This is often neglected in steakhouses – not here. In conclusion: Anyone who enjoys good drinks, excellent meat, and urban dining with a view over Amsterdam will be very happy at Mr. Porter. And even those who don't eat meat will find quality on their plates here.

From the moment you walk in, you feel truly welcome – the staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. The atmosphere is stylish and modern, yet so cozy that it feels like home. The food is outstanding – from the steaks to the sides, everything is prepared with great attention to detail and tastes fantastic. On top of that, the stunning view over Amsterdam makes the whole experience even more special. For me, Mr Porter is one of the must-visit places in Amsterdam. Whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or just a drink in the lounge, it’s always a pleasure, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. A true highlight of the city – highly recommended!

Something has changed: not the usual high standard. Food and drinks were also not the usual high standard. Ambience was enchanting. Some of the staff ok but majority have an attitude: need to sharpen up the variances. We were rushed to empty the table for next booking. I visited Mr Porter in Barcelona in May, in contrast that was excellent. Hope owners have a word with Management to sharpen their act.

Luxury restaurant, inside the hotel on the 6th floor, overlooking the city center. Regarding my order of Japanese steak, it was less than average for 90 euros, but it was an experience!

Loved this experience, food was immaculate! I would really recommend getting a steak( hence the name) and the potato carpaccio, did not expect to love it as much as I did!!

Well, unfortunately there isn't one in the U.S., just Amsterdam, Barcelona and London... We went to the one in Amsterdam and it was fabulous... Highly recommend... The dessert "The Fox Is Out" is one you need to experience.

It was nice overall, however it is not on the balance of price vs quality. At least i found my steak so dry, atmosphere was really nice especially the terrace.

I had the opportunity to dine at Mr. Porter last night, located on the rooftop of the W Marriott Amsterdam hotel, with an outdoor setting that overlooks the Royal Palace area. The staff was very welcoming. I was assisted by Katia, who strengthen the restaurant's service experience with her sophistication, professionalism, and by making a spectacular dessert recommendation to accompany the Golden Negroni cocktail. Enjoyed the bites, the drink, and the atmosphere. Overall, I strongly recommend it.

Beautiful and the taste is wonderful, especially the Japanese Wagyu and Mac and Cheese. The service is more than wonderful.

The food was good, the terrace was lovely. The staff was friendly. The food is overpriced, though. I think €9 for a regular portion of fries is a bit much. And the carpaccio dishes aren't exactly value for money. You pay way too much for what you get. And again, the food is good, but it's not great value for money.

We had a reservation at Mr. Porter that was changed from 9:15 to 9:00 without clear notice. When we arrived at 9:20, we were told our table was gone and ended up waiting over an hour at the bar. The server was rude and kept pressuring us to order, saying we might not get a table. After a dispute with the manager, we finally got seated. Service was poor, but the food was excellent. Make sure your reservation time is clear.

The atmosphere is beautiful on the roof, the service is excellent, and the waiters are cheerful. The food is delicious. The meat and fish are cooked well. The salads are delicious, but they lack salt. Reservations are required. The prices are considered high.

We had a great meal at MR PORTER, but Alfredo made our evening truly special. His hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine friendliness gave our visit that special something. Thanks to him, we felt truly welcome and were able to enjoy the food and atmosphere in peace. Highly recommended!

One of the worst dining experiences I had. When I asked if the fish was fresh, the chef had a very cocky attitude and tried to make me feel stupid for even asking. One of the waiters threw our plate on the table and walked away without even letting us know what he brought. We also noted our dietary restrictions in booking but they seemed to have no idea. Thats not even the worst part. The “salad” we ordered looked to us more like a boiled vegetable platter with no seasoning. Then when our main dish arrived, the fish was completely bland and it did not look appetizing whatsoever. By the end the staff did not feel welcoming, did not ask if we enjoyed the food. They just took the money and walked away. Unfortunately we left a table full of food and paid a ridiculous amount. Save your money and dont fall for the name

Last Saturday, we had a delicious meal, and the atmosphere was very cozy, with a great vibe and good music! I brought my girlfriend for her birthday, having mentioned this in advance when I made the reservation. After the main course, we ordered dessert. The waiter then brought it over with great enthusiasm. It was really nice that they had gone the extra mile for my girlfriend's birthday. It made the evening complete. I will definitely be back soon.

A Night of Contrasts—Where Glamour Met Disappointment MR PORTER dazzles with its ambiance and concept, but our experience was more style than substance. The welcome was classy, and my husband’s meat dish was good—but my gambas were underwhelming. What truly soured the night was the service: inattentive, distracted, and unprofessional. Our waiter prioritized flirting over hospitality, even spilling a drink without apology. Despite noting my husband’s birthday, the gesture felt like an afterthought—especially compared to the attention given to nearby guests. For a place that promises drama and flair, it fell short on care and consistency.

Very nice restaurant, one of my favorites. It's elegant, has good music, delicious food, very rich meat, spectacular service, thank you Alfredo for your recommendations and attention, 10 out of 10.

Absolutely atrocious. The food was diabolical and I don’t use this word lightly. No flavor, no effort, nothing redeemable. The staff was dismissive, rude, and clearly unfamiliar with even the most basic concept of customer service. One of them literally threw the plate onto the table and walked off. For the absurd prices they’re charging, the bare minimum should be edible food and a table that doesn’t wobble like it’s auditioning for a circus act. I genuinely wish I could go back in time and slap some sense into myself before stepping foot in this restaurant. A complete insult to the concept of fine dining. It felt like they’re doing us a favor.

A fantastic spot for a memorable meal - delicious food, romantic atmosphere, and warm, attentive service. The city views are beautiful, and the outdoor seating is lovely on a nice evening. Ask for Alfredo: he’s fun, upbeat, and turned our dinner into an experience we’ll remember.

We had a 10:15 PM reservation for the terrace, but they couldn't find our reservation, so they tried to seat us inside. After I had to show the reservation three times, they finally seated us at 10:55 PM. We ordered food and wanted to add something, which irritated the waiter, who walked away and left his notepad with us. He was a bit confused, a strange vibe. To top it all off, my boyfriend also got sick from the food; he woke up in the middle of the night and everything came out. Overall experience: -1000

Dario Allegrucci the head chef was AMAZING, I have food allergies and came into the restaurant. He came to the table and spoke to me about safety and ensuring I had a wonderful meal. The cauliflower is something I still think about today. Hands down the best I've ever eaten. The focaccia, which is a puffed up circle of perfection came with the most amazing sauces. Best thing I ordered on the table, I'm obsessed over that sauce combo and wish I knew the ingredients so I could make a less wonderful version of it here in the US. The steak, was wonderful, but I think the true stars of this restaurant was everything else. I hope Chef Allegrucci knows that while I visited in 2024, I still remember a year later how amazing he was, and his kindness has led me to recommend his restaurant to countless friends and acquaintances across social media. I've eaten at 3-star Michelin restaurants and didn't have the amazing service I had while dining here. The rest of the staff was gracious and helpful.

I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant is still open. This was hands down the worst quality food I’ve had in years. The octopus salad? It was just sitting on this thick, yellow, ghee-like sauce that looked like yogurt. No greens, no balance, just hot octopus dumped onto a plate of something honestly disgusting. Then the steaks arrived. Cold. And I’m someone who actually prefers my food room temperature, so for me to say it was cold really says a lot. I’m not a fussy eater at all, and even I couldn’t ignore how bad it was. Now, you might wonder why we didn’t say anything to the waiter. Well, we didn’t even see him the entire evening. We had to ask the hostess just to get a server to come to our table. I’ve worked in fine dining for 10 years, so I get it when a team is understaffed or having a rough shift. But you don’t take that out on the guests. And then the water situation. We were charged for water that we were never asked about and never served. When I brought it up, the waiter crumbled the receipt just a few centimeters from my partner’s face like literally right next to his nose and then walked away say okay. I’m honestly surprised my partner stayed calm, because anyone else might’ve reacted very differently and lost it. If there were a way to report the food and this kind of behavior to someone higher up, I absolutely would. As much as we love staying at the W, where the staff are always amazing, this restaurant completely ruined the experience. We won’t be coming back

The lighting, the music, the decor… everything contributes to an exceptional atmosphere. The food was another highlight: flawlessly prepared dishes with bold, refined flavors and a presentation worthy of fine dining. You can truly taste the care behind every element from the ingredients to the final touch on the plate. But what truly elevated the experience was the service. I can’t go without mentioning the two Franciscos, the manager and the waiter. Both were incredibly attentive, professional, and kind. Francisco, the manager, handled everything with such grace, ensuring every guest felt welcomed and valued. The other Francisco, who took care of our table, was simply impeccable present at just the right moments, kind, efficient, and with a level of poise that’s rare to find. It’s not every day you come across such genuine and refined service. Mr. Porter goes far beyond great food. It delivers a full, elevated experience. And much of that is thanks to the talent and dedication of the team. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Normally I do really like Mr Porter for it’s atmosphere and service, but since my last visit my opinion changed. At first my steak was undercooked and after I sent it back to get it medium rare cooked (which i ordered), it came back well done. Also the staff wasn’t very kind and we had to ask multiple times for our drinks. We didn’t feel very welcome the way Francisco treated us, especially for the high standard a restaurant like Mr Porter should have. Would definitely spend my money at a different restaurant next time.

Terrible service from the start

We’ve always enjoyed dining at Mr Porter, but unfortunately our experience tonight was disappointing. The service provided by Francisco left us feeling unwelcome. There was no friendliness or effort to make us feel comfortable. Even after spending 400 euros, we didn’t receive a thank you or a polite goodbye. After dinner, we wanted to order dessert, coffee and tea, but at 22:30 we were told this was only possible inside. We understand that there may be a time slot for terrace service, but it was striking that other tables outside were still being served. On top of that, a large table of at least ten people had been left uncleared for hours, which made it even more frustrating to be asked to move inside. It felt like we were being pushed out, and that’s not the experience we expect at a place like this. The waiting time for drinks was also unnecessarily long. We truly hope this feedback is taken seriously. This is not the level of service we are used to from Mr Porter, and honestly, this has given us a reason not to return.

We are extremely disappointed after our visit to Mr Porter today. We have always been loyal guests, often coming with family and friends, but the service we received from Francisco was unacceptable. While sitting on the terrace, it was clear he did not want to be there — and he made sure we felt it too. Not a single sign of genuine service or hospitality. After spending €400, we did not even get a simple ‘thank you’ or ‘good evening’. He didn’t say a single word. On top of that, we wanted to order coffee, tea and dessert after our meal, but were told at 22:30 that we had to go inside to order. This made no sense, as many other tables stayed longer outside and continued to order. We felt clearly pushed out. Drinks also took far too long to arrive. We have never experienced such careless, cold service at any restaurant — let alone at Mr Porter. We hope the Entourage Group takes this seriously, because this was our last visit.

Steak cold, ribs way too spicy and hot. Peppercorn sauce seemed old and wasn’t good at all. Serv was fair.

A few weeks ago, we went with a group of Argentinians and had a great time! Today, at lunch, we remembered Alfredo and Francisco, who treated us better than at home! The best meat in Europe!!!

We ordered rib eye steak, sweet potato, and asparagus, they were all delicious. What wasn't so good was that we couldn't book tables on Google Reservations. Reservations are only available at the chef's counter or the bar.

What a special place! Is it a nightclub or a steakhouse? Hard to say, but the atmosphere is great and the food fantastic… and the Argentinian host Alfredo is remarkably attentive and made it a top evening.

I tried only a cheese cake and it was served to W Lounge by one of the friendly staff Doris, she bake my day ;) This was the first time in my life that I had the best cheese cake in my life, but I heard the kitchen from Mr. Porter is very good and recommended one, also a lovely view that you are flying on the rooftops amsterdam.

Disappointing experience: appetizers were too small and sometimes nonexistent; my birthday wasn't even noticed. What a shame!

The food was good, but the lobster was dry. The waiter was just ok, but didn't give us some special service as you except from such place with a "name". The deserts wasn't good enough, we even returned the Tiramisu. In overall, the experience wasn't value for money at all.

I visited the restaurant without a reservation and due to the crowding of the place, I found a chair for one person at the bar in front of the sink. I reluctantly accepted the place, but the deliciousness of the food made up for my annoyance with the place.

Good food however terrible service… we ordered just one main dish (steak) for dinner, Colin mentioned a 30 minute wait, it took 1 hour 20 mins for it to arrive (after 1 hour we asked where our food was, Colin forgot to order it, so in the end we waited 1 hour 20mins… surprised to see no discount off the bill). Also saw 2 couples next to us just get up and leave the restaurant as their food didn’t arrive quick enough

The food was great, as was the ambience. The DJ's music was way too loud at the beginning and you couldn't have a conversation and I say that as one of a group of men. However, after the chef de service requested, our request was granted and the music was turned down. The meat was very good and of high quality. I'd love to go again.

If you’re looking for a place to strut your outfit and maybe snap a few Instagram stories, Mr. Porter might just be your runway. But if you’re after a genuinely good meal… you might want to keep walking. The place certainly looks the part: sleek interiors, dramatic lighting, and a team of model-esque hostesses escorting you to your table like you’re attending a fashion show. Sadly, once the glamour wears off, you’re left with service that’s more cold stare than warm welcome. Beautiful faces, sure — but attentive? Not so much. And then there’s the food. For a place that clearly wants to be taken seriously, the dishes miss the mark in all the wrong ways. The steak we ordered rare came back well-done and chewy enough to qualify as cardio. The tartare? Saltier than the attitude of our waitress, complete with caviar — but mysteriously missing the egg. Each dish felt like a half-finished idea dressed up in expensive plating. In short: Mr. Porter is where you go to be seen, not to eat well. High on image, low on flavor.

I booked a table for 4 PM for an early dinner with my French friend, who needed to catch a train back to Paris. However, since we had already enjoyed a large lunch at The Duchess on the first floor, we decided to cancel the dinner reservation. Instead, I made a new booking for just myself at 7 PM because I really wanted to try their steak. When I returned to the restaurant from my room later that evening, I was refused entry because of my pants—they claimed they were "sportswear" and not allowed. This was absurd, considering I had been there just two hours earlier in the same outfit (as seen in the photos with my friend during lunch). It felt like a joke! Fine, I went back to change, even though I was wearing high-end designer fashion (Y3, though I doubt the staff would recognize it). After finally being seated, I waited at the bar for over 15 minutes without any service. The entire staff seemed unfriendly and unenthusiastic. When my bone-in fillet arrived, it was just okay—nowhere near the best steaks I’ve had in Europe. To make matters worse, they didn’t even provide a steak knife until I asked for one. There are far better steakhouses with properly trained staff—this place pretends to be high-end but fails miserably.

Alfredo (אלפרדו) our waiter is the best!! Head Chef Dario is an amazing Italian dude who’s influenced by the best Mediterranean cuisine. AMAZING!!!

A friend of mine and I recently had dinner. We started with an aperitif while waiting for our table (we were early), they made us sit on some really nice and comfortable sofas. The location is elegant and suggestive, from the terrace it is possible to see Piazza Dam (really enchanting to see it from this perspective). There was a very good DJ, the music, although loud, was not annoying, in fact it created an excellent environment! We ate a fillet, good but too cooked and spicy for our tastes. (The fact of being Italian and being used to a much less tasty cuisine certainly plays a role). The quality of the meat I must say was not bad! The staff was very kind and helpful. Overall I must say that it is an elegant, well-kept and well-furnished restaurant. I would say unmissable for an aperitif or dinner.

The food is good. But not the service. 300 euro bill for two people and we sat at a narrow table at the end although there was availability. The plates didn't fit but still no one cared. The commotion in the place is indescribable. The waitress rude and not at all helpful. The restaurant has nothing to do with others of the same chain. The services do not match the price.

A fantastic experience at MR PORTER! From the moment we walked in to the last dessert everything was perfect. We were helped by Alfredo (Mertens) and I can only say: TOP TOP TOP TOP service! He was friendly, attentive and made sure we lacked nothing. The food was delicious – perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Definitely a place I would like to return to. Thank you Alfredo, you really made our evening special!
