Disappointed . The steaks were overcooked, and service lacked attention to detail. We were celebrating my daughter’s graduation and Father’s Day, and despite requesting a small surprise treat in advance, this was overlooked. Missing such an important detail made the occasion feel far less special. Will not be coming back…..

We spent three hours having drinks on Friday afternoon. It’s a lovely location but the service was lamentable, bordering on rude at times. We were talking to a neighbouring table and they also commented on the poor attitude of some of the staff. I would say go for the views and atmosphere, so long as you don’t mind being ignored. Later that evening we went to the Pulitzer where the price point was the same, but the service was impeccable.

Lovely venue with a great view, but unfortunately the service was disappointing. We stopped by for drinks and were told that drinks are only served in the lounge area. As there was no shade and it was quite uncomfortable, we politely asked if we could sit at one of the many empty dining tables instead. The server explained that he would allow it if it were his decision, but that management policy didn’t permit it. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told they weren’t available. Considering the drinks were €15–20 each and the restaurant was far from busy, I found the lack of flexibility and customer service disappointing. As a result, we decided to leave, so unfortunately I can’t comment on the food.

We didn’t eat here. My partner and I were excited as we arrived but we were “greeted” by three young ladies, we were told “we have a policy of no sportswear” as she looked my partner up and down, he was wearing plain black shorts with a small cerus logo on and a plain black t shirt.The lady suggested we go and get changed and come back…. At first I was agreeing but changed my mind quickly and said we’d find somewhere else to eat. We completely understand if there is a dress code however I got numerous text messages asking me to confirm my reservation before hand none of which mentioned a dress code and the young lady telling us we couldn’t go in because of what we were wearing was wearing a belly top…… we ended up having a fantastic evening at Van Puffelen for amazing dinner and Pulitzer for delicious cocktails both places that have way more style and atmosphere than the pretentious Mr Porter.

We had a great dinner at Mr Porter, the steak was properly cooked, the zucchini carpaccio was great. We found it a bit weird that upon reservation they inform you of a ‘smart elegant’ dress code, which was absolutely not enforced in the restaurant.

Had a really lovely evening at Mr Porter. Special thanks to Alexandros for the amazing service throughout the evening. He was so patient and helpful with explaining the menu and helping us choose based on our preferences. I ordered the sirloin steak and really appreciated how he explained the taste, the cooking, and where the meat comes from. The food and atmosphere were amazing, and Alexandros truly made the whole experience even better.

Everything on the menu is incredibly delicious. You absolutely must try the fried cauliflower and the meat dishes.

We were wonderfully lucky with Thomas who did his job exceptionally well! Before even having a question about the food Thomas already answered it without having to ask him the question myself. I was talking with my partner about how much more amazing Thomas made the night with his wonderful energy would come again for sure :) his wine recommendation was top tier as well that we ordered another bottle.

Great food. Mediocre service. However, there is a major issue with the kitchen. They made us wait, claiming that our table on the terrace was being prepared. After half an hour, we discovered that there had never been a table reserved for us outside, even though we had specifically requested it in our booking. We ended up sitting inside, ordered our food, and the main course took an extremely long time to arrive. In short, we arrived at the restaurant at 21:30 and were served our main course at 23:15. I should also mention that most of the starters were brought without serving utensils. Completely unacceptable, especially for these prices.

A must spot every time i am in Amsterdam

Wonderful service, arrived in an unsportsmanlike manner, Google Pixel went off 5 times and the receptionist asked if I was going to use my ANWB credit card. Nice parking garage for my LL Mansory; the only thing I have to complain about is the valet parking, which caused damage to my car, and partly because of this reason I lost my aura with the top guy I tried to scam. The treatment at all times has been unbeatable... The atmosphere with the DJ mixing music and the fact that the meat is already cut in detail becomes to forget that you must eat and just enjoy the place, the company and the food.

Nothing much to write about, you get what you pay for. That is great, delicious, well portioned, tasty food. The vine collection is exceptional.

The two stars because of this policy of the Mr. Porter (Entourage Group) of charging you 10% as service (tip) (12% in MOMO!) without even asking you, so on a bill of 230 Euros for two persons this is another 23 Euros (extra dish) so you need to disagree if you do not feel like offering this tip (embarrassing). The service was good but this kind of psychological pressure is sneaky.

Amsterdam was really an absolute highlight! ✨ As soon as we entered, we were delighted by the stylish atmosphere modern, elegant and at the same time very relaxed. The service was attentive, friendly and professional from start to finish. You immediately felt welcome. We were particularly impressed by the food: The dishes were not only beautifully presented, but also tasted excellent. Everything was fresh, perfectly coordinated and prepared with great attention to detail. Also the drinks and cocktails were just delicious and fit perfectly for the evening. 🍸🍽️ The combination of excellent food, high-quality drinks, great ambience and first-class service definitely makes MR PORTER a place you must have experienced when you are in Amsterdam. I really wanted to like this place because the ambiance is actually quite nice and stylish. However, the food was a massive disappointment and definitely not worth the price. The Side Dish: I ordered a side for €12, which turned out to be a joke. It was just a plain baked sweet potato, sliced down the middle. No seasoning, no effort—just a basic potato for a premium price. The Steak: The main course was even worse. My steak was full of gristle and tendons, making it almost impossible to eat. For these prices, you expect a high-quality cut of meat, not something tough and poor quality. I strictly do not recommend this place. The price-to-quality ratio is way off. You can find much better and tastier food elsewhere for the same amount of money. Save your cash!

Mr Porter offers a friendly welcome and a good menu with plenty of choice. The location is very beautiful, with a lovely view that really contributes to the experience. The food is good, especially the meat, which is of high quality. The foie gras was highly recommended. However, the price level is on the expensive side, which is something you have to be willing to pay for. All in all, a stylish place for an evening out with good food and atmosphere.

Norbert and the team looked after us really well. The food was amazing and his suggestions were fantastic. I cannot recommend the restaurant enough. Special occasion or intimate dinner it really is a wonderful experience.

Came to celebrate my husband birthday and, despite reminding the staff several times, they completely forgot to do the small gesture that we had requested (candles, a simple attention). That was really disappointing, especially for a special occasion. The food was okay, but nothing impressive. Considering the prices, we expected much better. The cocktails, however, were very poor — unbalanced and not prepared with much care. Overall, a rather disappointing experience, with a lack of attention to detail in the service. We expected more from this kind of place.

It features house music, a bar, and quite nice decor, in my opinion. Customer service is mostly quick and the staff is very friendly. They have several cuts of meat, which I found good but not amazing. They offer many sides; I thought the cauliflower mac and cheese was a good choice.

Ridiculous, way too overrated, and rude! All the food was far too salty. Furthermore, we had to leave within 1.5 hours of arrival to make way for new guests, even though that time already puts you at 150 euros per person and everything around you was empty.

I was really surprised by my experience here. The food was decent, but the prices were definitely on the higher side, so I expected a certain level of service to match. When I asked for a box to take my leftovers, I was told that they don’t provide take-out boxes. I’ve honestly never experienced that before, especially at a restaurant that isn’t exactly affordable. It felt wasteful and disappointing to leave food behind after paying a premium price. For a place charging these kinds of prices, small conveniences like providing boxes for leftovers should be standard. Unfortunately, this left a negative impression despite the otherwise decent meal.

I had a great experience at MR PORTER, mainly because of the unique setting. It’s located on the 6th floor of the well-known W Hotel, right in the city center. The space is beautifully designed, and there’s even an outdoor pool and the W Lounge on the same level, which adds a lot to the overall experience. A special mention to our waiter Alfredo. Honestly a 10/10. Great service, very attentive, very helpfull and just a genuinely nice guy. I’ve been to MR PORTER in Barcelona a few times, where I found the menu to be a bit more extensive. That said, the food here was still very solid. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, and everyone at the table was happy with their dishes. The fries and oysters were also very good. One small downside was that there were no mashed potatoes on the menu, which I personally think pairs really well with steak (and was available in Barcelona) as well as the Skirt Steak. After dinner, it’s nice to stay for a drink in the lounge. The atmosphere is great, with music and even a live DJ. The only real downside was the elevator. We had to wait around 20 minutes with a long line, and eventually ended up taking the stairs from the 6th floor, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, a beautiful high-end spot with great food, good vibes, and an amazing location. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a premium dining experience in Amsterdam.

Always a great evening at Mr Porter's. The meat is truly exquisite, most cuts are dry-aged, and the musical atmosphere is very pleasant with a DJ on weekends. The desserts are excellent, especially the pistachio fondant with raspberry jelly. Hot and cold at the same time, simply incredible! The only downside is the fries, which aren't great compared to the rest. Friendly staff.

Steak is not good. You pay for the name not the quality of food. It’s waste of money and time. Poor service.I am really sad cause we wasted one evening of our short trip to Amsterdam only cause of choosing the wrong restaurant 😕😢

To be honest, the service was great, but the food was disappointing. There was absolutely nothing special about it. It felt very overrated, and everything was drowned in olive oil. Even the pepper sauce tasted like the most average restaurant version you could find anywhere. I love a good focaccia, but this one was slightly undercooked and a bit too thick. The sweet potato was just oil, salt, and pepper. However, the spicy plate was very interesting.

The meat was delicious and grilled to perfection. The side dishes were overpriced in my opinion. The fried onion rings were disproportionately large and expensive at €18 😞 Fries were €9 😞 Porterhouse for €155 for 1.2 kg was OK 👍 Overall, a very nice hotspot in Amsterdam and worth a visit.

I’ll start by saying . . . I’m a little spoiled living in a city with elite food and service, so I always factor that in when I travel. Mr. Porter is a vibe. Great ambiance, incredible views, and a solid overall experience. Service in Europe is . . . different. Not bad, just not what I’m used to, so I try not to let that impact things too much. One thing I do want to call out . . . my daughter’s friend has a severe seafood, nut, and kiwi allergy, and the staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating. That wasn’t our experience everywhere in Europe, so it definitely stood out and was appreciated. We went simple with two steaks: the “Mrs. Porter” and a bone-in ribeye. Mrs. Porter needed a little more seasoning, but the ribeye was 🔥. Sides? Honestly don’t even remember them . . . which probably says enough. The highlight might’ve been the “Mr. Fox” dessert. They bring out this chocolate fox head, pour liquid nitrogen into it, and crack it open tableside. Super cool presentation. Dessert itself was good, not amazing . . . but I’d order it again just for the show. End of the day: great ambiance, great views, good food, and a fun experience. I’ll definitely be back.

Food is good, the front desk and wait staff are friendly, and the ambiance is lovely. What really surprised me though was seeing the head chef berating and yelling at a sous chef during service. I understand that kitchens can be intense environments and operate differently from typical office settings, but that kind of treatment shouldn’t just be brushed off as “how kitchens are.”

Great experience! Food was superb - steak was like butter. My sister is celiac and the staff are attentive to gluten free requirements and understood the importance of avoiding cross contamination. Overall a brilliant experience.

It's a nice restaurant with delicious food, but I think it's a bit expensive considering the price-to-value ratio; I don't think it's suitable for everyone. You should definitely try the rib-eye.

My experience at Mr. Porter Steakhouse in Amsterdam was unfortunately very mixed. First of all, I want to highlight the positives. The food was absolutely excellent. The quality of the steak and the overall dishes were outstanding and exactly what you would expect from a high-end steakhouse. The atmosphere, the design of the restaurant, and the overall location are beautiful and create a great dining experience. A special thank you also goes to the waiter who served us and was also working at the bar area. His service was sensational — professional, friendly, attentive, and exactly the level of hospitality you hope to receive in a restaurant of this category. The restaurant manager also handled the situation professionally later on. Unfortunately, our experience started very poorly due to the hostess at the entrance (a dark-haired woman who was working that evening). From the very beginning, her attitude felt extremely unfriendly and dismissive. In my personal experience, it was one of the most uncomfortable welcomes I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Our table was reserved until 21:00. However, at around 20:20 she approached our table and asked us to leave because the table was needed for another reservation. At that exact moment we had not even finished ordering and our food had just arrived. Being asked to leave under these circumstances was very surprising and honestly quite shocking for us. I want to emphasize that this is simply my personal experience from that evening. The contrast between the excellent food and the great service from the waiter and manager, compared to the very negative first impression at the entrance, was extremely disappointing. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, the welcome and guest treatment at the door should reflect the same high standards as the kitchen and the rest of the team. Unfortunately, in this case it did not. Because of this experience, I unfortunately have to leave a one-star review, even though parts of the evening — especially the food and the service from the waiter — were truly excellent.

The food at our breakfast was great, but Marion, our waiter, made the experience worth a review. He was polite and charismatic, and he completely set the tone for our day in Amsterdam by telling us about the coffee he served us. It was clear he was proud of and cared very much about the coffee at Mr. Porter, and his pride and care was reflected in his service and the quality of our drinks. He also took some time to give us quality recommendations for what to do in the city on our way out. Would return for another espresso and chat with Marion!

We ordered a medium rare tomahawk steak and it came out fairly done after waiting ~45 minutes. They wanted to repay the negative experience with just a dessert. Overall, the quality for the money was awful. In addition, the service wasn't great as they didn't get the sides correct

One of the best breakfast spreads I have had. Everything you could ever want was provided. Staff is very attentive and personable as well.

Location is very charming and well designed, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The service was very fast and efficient, and the meat dishes were good in terms of quality and preparation. Unfortunately, the artichoke starter was not worth the price. More than half of the plate consisted of waste — tough outer leaves and a poorly cleaned artichoke that seemed simply boiled, served with mayonnaise. Overall, it felt unrefined and disappointing. The most negative aspect of the experience, however, was the wine service. When ordering a bottle priced at nearly €300, I expect the staff to be knowledgeable about the product and fully competent in properly opening and presenting the bottle. The lack of preparation and confidence in handling such a wine significantly affected the overall impression. The pop corn creme brulee was amazing.

Nice food, could be better for the price! But we didn't eat badly!!!

The best thing about it was the orders. The Japanese Wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth, and we ordered the Sirloin Steak, which wasn't great. The mac and cheese was bad, and the Baby Squid (which is the octopus head) was rubbery and tasteless. The salad was okay: avocado, corn, and shrimp.

If your employees listen to private phone conversations in German during their break, they should keep in mind that Germans UNDERSTAND Dutch. The comments I heard into my direction as a woman around 17.00 today were simply not ok.

Was turned away at the door for no reason. Power tripping security guards don’t know how to act. Ruined my valentines couldn’t even get in anywhere else as was too late. TERRIBLE SERVICE

Great restaurant with extensive menu and very friendly waiting staff.

Mr. Porter's is a restaurant where you pay a lot more than elsewhere, but we keep coming back. The food is delicious, there's a nice atmosphere, and the service is good. You should always make a reservation in advance, otherwise, there's little chance of getting a table. Our orders always consist of the same items. I've photographed some of them. Finally, I prefer a spot at the bar to a table during the winter months. There's one downside: the restroom. It's two flights of stairs down from the restaurant.

Meat at the exhibition looks good, BUT out steak came cold and meat was already grey. We asked for medium. It means that either steak was precooked and warmed up or they kept it too long at the kitchen.

I would recommend Mr. Porter solely for the food, which was excellent. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing — the service was inattentive, the music was far too loud, and the “Chef’s Corner” is a terrible place to sit: extremely warm and even noisier than the rest of the restaurant.

Eating here every month, Sebastian is always taking good care of me and he and the other waiters are really attentive, Sebastian always has nice recommendations about the food and wine so he is a G. Give that man a triple raise!

We had such a wonderful time! Delicious food, wonderful wines, and fantastic service from Alfred at the bar. We'd love to come back. We were truly pampered. The perfect restaurant for a festive evening.

My favourite place to go out for dinner

After our last experience a view weeks ago, we were very dissatisfied. Yesterday, we enjoyed a very nice lunch at Mr. Porter. We received the service we expect from a top-notch restaurant.

Very good food, great ambience and music!

We made a group reservation, but perhaps because it was Saturday night, they only offered the chef's set menu. They said they couldn't exchange it for a la carte because everything was already prepared in advance. The starters and carpaccio were served in a jumbled order, and the main course wasn't as tasty as I'd hoped. The music later turned into a club-level EDM, making conversation impossible during the meal. It took three and a half hours for all the courses to be served. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere, live DJ. Unfortunately we had to sit at the bar next to the door leading to the terrace (for the smokers) and people were constantly coming in and out cause a freezing breeze in and out. Very bad seats in an otherwise very nice restaurant. The food was very good, but 3 starts because of value for money.

I ordered a sirloin steak (medium), but it came out cold. When I complained, they just reheated the same steak and served it back to me, which was still disappointing. No compensation, . Overall, it was an average experience, definitely not worth the price.

Still going strong Mr. Porter is a modern meat restaurant with style and a trendy vibe – see and be seen without being superficial. It belongs to the Izakaya Group, which also operates concepts like Momo in Amsterdam and Izakaya in Munich. The standards are correspondingly high – and they are met. The heart of the restaurant is, of course, the meat: first-class cuts, perfectly prepared, for 2–4 people upon request. The steaks are of excellent quality – whether fillet, ribeye, or tomahawk. Not cheap, but absolutely fair for what you get. The atmosphere is lively, urban, with an international touch. The wine selection is excellent, and the advice is well-founded. The service team was consistently attentive, friendly, and well-organized during our visit. A particularly positive aspect: There was a vegetarian in our group – the small but well-thought-out plant-based offering was also really good. Small starters with lots of greens, umami, and texture, surprisingly sophisticated and very flavorful. This is often neglected in steakhouses – not here. In conclusion: Anyone who enjoys good drinks, excellent meat, and urban dining with a view over Amsterdam will be very happy at Mr. Porter. And even those who don't eat meat will find quality on their plates here.

From the moment you walk in, you feel truly welcome – the staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. The atmosphere is stylish and modern, yet so cozy that it feels like home. The food is outstanding – from the steaks to the sides, everything is prepared with great attention to detail and tastes fantastic. On top of that, the stunning view over Amsterdam makes the whole experience even more special. For me, Mr Porter is one of the must-visit places in Amsterdam. Whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or just a drink in the lounge, it’s always a pleasure, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. A true highlight of the city – highly recommended!

Something has changed: not the usual high standard. Food and drinks were also not the usual high standard. Ambience was enchanting. Some of the staff ok but majority have an attitude: need to sharpen up the variances. We were rushed to empty the table for next booking. I visited Mr Porter in Barcelona in May, in contrast that was excellent. Hope owners have a word with Management to sharpen their act.

Luxury restaurant, inside the hotel on the 6th floor, overlooking the city center. Regarding my order of Japanese steak, it was less than average for 90 euros, but it was an experience!

Really good place for dinner. I enjoyed the wine and the food. On top of it was the company of people I had.

Nice food but not great. Dont get me wrong but i had so much anticipation going there and it just did not translate to the pergect evening. Stake was good but sesaoning was not what it should. Dont know if i want to go again. Service was ok!!!

Loved this experience, food was immaculate! I would really recommend getting a steak( hence the name) and the potato carpaccio, did not expect to love it as much as I did!!

Well, unfortunately there isn't one in the U.S., just Amsterdam, Barcelona and London... We went to the one in Amsterdam and it was fabulous... Highly recommend... The dessert "The Fox Is Out" is one you need to experience.

It was nice overall, however it is not on the balance of price vs quality. At least i found my steak so dry, atmosphere was really nice especially the terrace.

I had the opportunity to dine at Mr. Porter last night, located on the rooftop of the W Marriott Amsterdam hotel, with an outdoor setting that overlooks the Royal Palace area. The staff was very welcoming. I was assisted by Katia, who strengthen the restaurant's service experience with her sophistication, professionalism, and by making a spectacular dessert recommendation to accompany the Golden Negroni cocktail. Enjoyed the bites, the drink, and the atmosphere. Overall, I strongly recommend it.

Terrible service, rude staff. Gives off the warmth and vibes of a hospital rather than a high end restaurant. 10/10 skip

Beautiful and the taste is wonderful, especially the Japanese Wagyu and Mac and Cheese. The service is more than wonderful.

We had a reservation at Mr. Porter that was changed from 9:15 to 9:00 without clear notice. When we arrived at 9:20, we were told our table was gone and ended up waiting over an hour at the bar. The server was rude and kept pressuring us to order, saying we might not get a table. After a dispute with the manager, we finally got seated. Service was poor, but the food was excellent. Make sure your reservation time is clear.

The food was good, the terrace was lovely. The staff was friendly. The food is overpriced, though. I think €9 for a regular portion of fries is a bit much. And the carpaccio dishes aren't exactly value for money. You pay way too much for what you get. And again, the food is good, but it's not great value for money.

The atmosphere is beautiful on the roof, the service is excellent, and the waiters are cheerful. The food is delicious. The meat and fish are cooked well. The salads are delicious, but they lack salt. Reservations are required. The prices are considered high.

We had a great meal at MR PORTER, but Alfredo made our evening truly special. His hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine friendliness gave our visit that special something. Thanks to him, we felt truly welcome and were able to enjoy the food and atmosphere in peace. Highly recommended!
