“What a great party at Porter! We were with a large group and everything was perfect. Alfred prepared a perfect dinner for us with delicious selected wines. We will definitely come back here!”

We ordered rib eye steak, sweet potato, and asparagus, they were all delicious. What wasn't so good was that we couldn't book tables on Google Reservations. Reservations are only available at the chef's counter or the bar.

Polite staff but surprisingly they missed our fish and we had to wait longer!

What a special place! Is it a nightclub or a steakhouse? Hard to say, but the atmosphere is great and the food fantastic… and the Argentinian host Alfredo is remarkably attentive and made it a top evening.

I tried only a cheese cake and it was served to W Lounge by one of the friendly staff Doris, she bake my day ;) This was the first time in my life that I had the best cheese cake in my life, but I heard the kitchen from Mr. Porter is very good and recommended one, also a lovely view that you are flying on the rooftops amsterdam.

Disappointing experience: appetizers were too small and sometimes nonexistent; my birthday wasn't even noticed. What a shame!

The food was good, but the lobster was dry. The waiter was just ok, but didn't give us some special service as you except from such place with a "name". The deserts wasn't good enough, we even returned the Tiramisu. In overall, the experience wasn't value for money at all.

I visited the restaurant without a reservation and due to the crowding of the place, I found a chair for one person at the bar in front of the sink. I reluctantly accepted the place, but the deliciousness of the food made up for my annoyance with the place.

Good food however terrible service… we ordered just one main dish (steak) for dinner, Colin mentioned a 30 minute wait, it took 1 hour 20 mins for it to arrive (after 1 hour we asked where our food was, Colin forgot to order it, so in the end we waited 1 hour 20mins… surprised to see no discount off the bill). Also saw 2 couples next to us just get up and leave the restaurant as their food didn’t arrive quick enough

The food was great, as was the ambience. The DJ's music was way too loud at the beginning and you couldn't have a conversation and I say that as one of a group of men. However, after the chef de service requested, our request was granted and the music was turned down. The meat was very good and of high quality. I'd love to go again.

If you’re looking for a place to strut your outfit and maybe snap a few Instagram stories, Mr. Porter might just be your runway. But if you’re after a genuinely good meal… you might want to keep walking. The place certainly looks the part: sleek interiors, dramatic lighting, and a team of model-esque hostesses escorting you to your table like you’re attending a fashion show. Sadly, once the glamour wears off, you’re left with service that’s more cold stare than warm welcome. Beautiful faces, sure — but attentive? Not so much. And then there’s the food. For a place that clearly wants to be taken seriously, the dishes miss the mark in all the wrong ways. The steak we ordered rare came back well-done and chewy enough to qualify as cardio. The tartare? Saltier than the attitude of our waitress, complete with caviar — but mysteriously missing the egg. Each dish felt like a half-finished idea dressed up in expensive plating. In short: Mr. Porter is where you go to be seen, not to eat well. High on image, low on flavor.

I booked a table for 4 PM for an early dinner with my French friend, who needed to catch a train back to Paris. However, since we had already enjoyed a large lunch at The Duchess on the first floor, we decided to cancel the dinner reservation. Instead, I made a new booking for just myself at 7 PM because I really wanted to try their steak. When I returned to the restaurant from my room later that evening, I was refused entry because of my pants—they claimed they were "sportswear" and not allowed. This was absurd, considering I had been there just two hours earlier in the same outfit (as seen in the photos with my friend during lunch). It felt like a joke! Fine, I went back to change, even though I was wearing high-end designer fashion (Y3, though I doubt the staff would recognize it). After finally being seated, I waited at the bar for over 15 minutes without any service. The entire staff seemed unfriendly and unenthusiastic. When my bone-in fillet arrived, it was just okay—nowhere near the best steaks I’ve had in Europe. To make matters worse, they didn’t even provide a steak knife until I asked for one. There are far better steakhouses with properly trained staff—this place pretends to be high-end but fails miserably.

Alfredo (אלפרדו) our waiter is the best!! Head Chef Dario is an amazing Italian dude who’s influenced by the best Mediterranean cuisine. AMAZING!!!

A friend of mine and I recently had dinner. We started with an aperitif while waiting for our table (we were early), they made us sit on some really nice and comfortable sofas. The location is elegant and suggestive, from the terrace it is possible to see Piazza Dam (really enchanting to see it from this perspective). There was a very good DJ, the music, although loud, was not annoying, in fact it created an excellent environment! We ate a fillet, good but too cooked and spicy for our tastes. (The fact of being Italian and being used to a much less tasty cuisine certainly plays a role). The quality of the meat I must say was not bad! The staff was very kind and helpful. Overall I must say that it is an elegant, well-kept and well-furnished restaurant. I would say unmissable for an aperitif or dinner.

The food is good. But not the service. 300 euro bill for two people and we sat at a narrow table at the end although there was availability. The plates didn't fit but still no one cared. The commotion in the place is indescribable. The waitress rude and not at all helpful. The restaurant has nothing to do with others of the same chain. The services do not match the price.

reception and ambience tells you that you are getting to a classy spot , salad was really fresh and tasty , there 🥩 above average with grilled asparagus,, snickers cake was good 👍 all over we had a lovely experience. Thanks a lot

A fantastic experience at MR PORTER! From the moment we walked in to the last dessert everything was perfect. We were helped by Alfredo (Mertens) and I can only say: TOP TOP TOP TOP service! He was friendly, attentive and made sure we lacked nothing. The food was delicious – perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Definitely a place I would like to return to. Thank you Alfredo, you really made our evening special!

Amazing food, in particular the meat, but also the side dishes, the wines and the desert. All great. Huge recommendation!!!

Everything (except steak) was bad. The girl which have met us was very rude. We were waiting for the food and the guy was cleaning with vacuum cleaner around our legs. When the food came, salads was terrible, fied vegetables were overcooked and so on… we waited for the steak for 80 min… the only one good thing - steak was perfect.

Terrible experince: I had a confirmed reservation , yet waited for 20 mins to be seated!! The service was very poor , every time i try to speak to the waiteress she says wait please because she is very busy !! I had to wait over 15 minutes just for a glass of water, and when I asked about it, the waiter admitted that the service was bad because they just received 10 tables at the same time!! Honestly, that’s not an acceptable excuse for a fine dining restaurant. I expected much better restaurant and more attention to the details. The food in general was average , they had good bread ! Steaks were good yet overcooked !! With such experince No apetite for dessert.

Prawn salad was delicious. Would have wished for a bigger portion since it was 29€. I’ve read bad things about the service here. But my waiter seemed professional, a bit unpersonal though. It’s free to smile 😉 loved the luxurious atmosphere and stunning view. This time I did lunch, next time I will come for dinner in the summer 🥰

It's good if you want to come with your lover and have a fancy or romantic meal. But if you want to eat meat alone like me, it's normal. Carpaccio was incredibly beautiful. The wine was also good. But the meat was so angry I couldn't eat 1/4 of it. Service staff and reception staff were nice.

Delicious lunch this afternoon, the tall Dutch boy served us as a worthy host and knew a lot about the wines like a professional sommelier.

Terrible service, unprofessional staff We wanted to have lunch in this restaurant on Saturday, but there was no possibility to reserve a table via the website. That's why we decided to visit without a reservation – and that turned out to be a mistake. At the entrance we were greeted by a young woman without a uniform or name badge. She didn't even greet us and immediately asked with a cold, unfriendly tone: "How can I help you?" When we explained that we were coming for lunch, she was annoyed that it was only possible by reservation, but with a sigh she went to have a look anyway. After a minute she came back and said there was only a spot available at the bar – in three hours (!). And that was it. No attempt to find another solution, no kindness whatsoever. This attitude is unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. It seems that the staff chooses who they want to serve. Absolutely unprofessional - we will never return here.

Outstanding taste, service, place!

If you want to eat over the top and pay too much for little food, then this is the place for you. Positives are - the location - the food There are negatives - It's too expensive - It's not much food - The acoustics are bad in combination with loud music - They want to be able to reserve a table as often as possible. They therefore work with a time slot. If you sit too long, you can move to the lounge with your lunch or dinner. - You just feel like a herd animal In the past, if you went to a fancy restaurant, you sat there all evening and paid for it. This is disproportionate. It was my first and last time there.

結論：食物都好吃， 價格不低。 Bread focacia bake by demand, it is amazing。 Appetizer: avocado cream cheeze+caviar creaming but taste fresh. Marinated seabase also tasty. Main dish: Steak with lobster, juicy beef (mid cooked) and fresh lobster are well cooked. Two kinds of dessert makes a perfect emding. Set menu: food choose by chef but you may tell if any allergies, if yes they will tell u if that dish u need to avoid. :)

One of the best steaks you can have in Amsterdam. The place is located on the top floor of W Hotel. The entrance is spectacular showcasing their selection of meats. The service was amazing and the atmosphere had a really nice vibe to it. Dimmed lighting and good food made it a perfect Saturday out. The food! The highlight of the evening! The Mr.Porter steak was cooked to perfection and it was so tender that it was for sure in the top 3 I had in the Netherlands so far. The ribeye was amazing as well! The sides were really interesting. The cauliflower was perfect and had this meditteranean buttery sauce that made it the perfect side. I would definitely give it a visit if you want a good steakhouse in Amsterdam.

Hello, the overall experience is good, because the food is very good, good quality and the meat is well prepared to the point requested. The loca is modern and pleasant, although at times it was very hot. The service tries but is not up to par. They are nice, but they didn't bring us the two starters we ordered, we had to call several times during dinner to get water because they didn't bring it. Still I recommend it.

We had a really nice evening and enjoyed having dinner at the bar. Good taste combinations, friendly service and a beautiful city view makes Mr. Porter a great choice for a night out!

They have an issue in reservation. We reserve at 10.30 pm tonight and we just get the table at 10.37

The waiters and staff are world 5 star standards. It's a steakhouse with actual aged steak. Food is deliciously perfect, and drink selections match. Personally, it is one of the best dining in NL, not Amsterdam but NL.

This was my favorite steak in all of the Netherlands! I would call Mr. Porter an elevated style restaurant. It would compete with the best steak restaurants in the US. Their pricing is a little high but the location and experience make up for it.

The food was absolutely delicious and well-prepared, which was the highlight of the experience. The service left room for improvement. it could have been more attentive and efficient. The prices are on the premium side, so you’d expect everything to match that level. The atmosphere was fine, but the music was a bit too loud, which made it harder to fully enjoy the experience. Overall, a good place for the food, but there’s room to refine the service and ambiance.

Came here for my husband's birthday. Service was top notch, I came when I was 8 months pregnant and he was assuring me that I could request most of the items to be well done and he suggested a few great mocktails to accompany my dinner with. He also offered to take our photos, very attentive but not intrusive. A good amount. Food wise, we had quite a feast and it's pretty good but there's still room for improvement, e.g. seasoning on the lamb rack can be better. We actually LOVE the appetizers, the flat bread, the leeks, beef skewers, everything was really good. The dessert was also amazing, we had the profiteroles with olive oil caviar and lemony meringue on top. I'd come back to try more steak even when it's not a special occasion.

We were celebrating our daughters 19th birthday and had a great night. Our waiter was very friendly and thoughtful. A visit at your restaurant has never disappointed us and is one of our favorite places for celebrations. Thank you for the great food and service!

Very good food and nice atmosphere.

We spent New Year's Eve at Mr PORTER and were overall disappointed. The prices are excessive compared to the food on offer: a chicken dish without any side dish, just sliced, cost €39, while my wife's vegetarian dish only consisted of five pieces of vegetables and was also not justified at €19. A single sweet potato for €12 - no need to comment. In the end we paid €120, but we were still hungry!! To make matters worse, we only had 1.5 hours for our dinner before we were sent off. Unfortunately, there was no alternative, such as a bar or another area to linger and enjoy New Year's Eve. We had to leave the place after our meal which further marred the experience. We're not coming anymore.

Great way to start the New Year at Porter. It was a great evening, lots of laughs. Our host Alfredo helped us with great hospitality throughout the evening. We will definitely come back here again!

We were a big impossible group to handle on the NYE celebration at porter but Alfredo did the impossible to fulfill all our expectations and more! The food was also amazing and the NYE party was perfect!

Been here twice and both occasions were memorable. Great food, great portions and warm, relaxing setting.

Starting from the lack of service and attention, leading up to a wait time of 40-1 hour for the food including appetizers and then culminating with receiving a steak that was undercooked. After the steak that was undercooked was taken away to re-cook it.. we had to wait again for 15-20 minutes or so. Not sure if they started to cook a new steak all over again, this information was not relayed to us. The steak was just taken away and that's it. No one said: "you will need to wait another 15-20 minutes." We thought they would throw it on the grill quickly. As a result, my boyfriend was left hanging without the food.. and without a small plate for appetizers. Service can be much better and attention to customers. Food is okay.. nothing special really. Mac and cheese is okay. Steak is also.. okay. Nothing special. The fine chopped salad - just chopped in small pieces but this is not a fine chopped salad. Once again, if you know what a good steakhouse is then this is not a steakhouse to go to.

The visit can be summed up as a great disappointment. The place is so noisy that you can't hear your own thoughts. The music is too loud and instead of pleasantly accompanying the meal, it takes over everything. The acoustics are beyond reproach and the conversations of all the tables in the entire large restaurant sound like extremely loud background noise. There were varying reviews of the food from those at the table, some enjoyed it and some much less, one could have expected higher quality from a restaurant at such a high price level. The way the dishes were presented was also of a low standard, just a steak on a plate and that was it. The service was lukewarm and not very friendly. In conclusion, I don't recommend going and eating at this place.

The ambience and service were excellent. However, the food was below average, the food was bland. We ordered the Mrs Porter and the Lobster, both were room temp and lacked flavoring. We had to add salt and pepper to everything we ordered. We also ordered french fries which one of the waiters said was not available and brought us sweet potato fries instead. When we informed our main waiter, he got us our fries. Why say you don’t serve fries when it’s available?! The fries were the best thing we ordered.

Well, it's great to sit inside, the drink is flowing... no one is glaring at anyone, it's nice, warm and quiet... when the bill was given, it got colder!!…

Everything it’s perfect the stuff very friendly. The Vibes was amazing the food it’s totally great.

The food was excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection, the vegetable side dishes were crisp and fresh, and the dessert was very tasty. Unfortunately the service was not adequate for the price and what the restaurant promises. Without asking, the waiter brought us a bottle of water that wasn't even on our table and was charged for. The steak plate with the sauce was simply cleared away before we finished eating. We weren't really noticed at our table, despite the fact that many waiters walked past the table, rather haphazardly. After dessert, the bill came straight away without any request. The volume was so high that you couldn't really have a good conversation. Unfortunately not made for people who value good food in a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately disappointing for us today, just because of the service.

Both their winter Sunday roast and standard menu are delicious. They're very happy to make classic cocktails too, like Pornstar Martini.

One of the fine restaurants MR PORTER Dining and worth the experience. The place is beautiful inside the hotel. The corn salad with shrimp and avocado is amazing and the steak is amazing. 8/10 They provided delicious bread 🤤 with tahini and hot sauce and I think hummus 🥙 The bill is good 🙂‍↕️

A real experience! We were there for Christmas and it was a dream. The interior, the light, the service, everything is perfect. We sat in the kitchen and were able to watch everything. It was very entertaining. Our meal was really tasty, the meat was perfect. Total recommendation!

Always satisfied for years! Since the new Team, scum have been coming in. What was supposed to be a pleasant evening/birthday turned into hell, not a meter away from us, it went terribly wrong. violence fights rude behavior and police I am in shock. a shame my evening turned into a total scum tent!! They used to be picky about letting people in. dress code is no longer applicable, the person who was fighting was wearing a comford suit!! no high end experience unfortunately!!

Once in a while we go with some business friends to Mr. Porter and that’s why i decided to write a review. The location is fantastic although parking can be a bit tricky. They offer valet parking though🙏🏻 The entrance with is always a bless and “checking in” goes smoothly, all the time and nice hostesses bring you to your table. So far the good news…. We go to Mr. Porter because they identified as a premium steak house hence we always order steak. But…. Two remarks in this one: - every time we have been there, the steaks are too cold served - the meat is always way too rare, even if you order “a point” in stead of “saignant” it’s always “bloody” My review below is regarding our dinner last Wednesday. We went with 5 people and ordered a bottle of white wine to start with and later when the meat was served a bottle of red win. The winelist is good and served in a good way including refill. However once main course was “forgotten” for some of the guest which result that we needed to wait. The meant was already not hot when it was served hence when we started eating it was way too cold. The waiter offered to heat it up but previous times when we did this as well, the end result is not good. According to me it’s a patch method. There was no salt and no pepper on the table , we needed to ask for it. After 15 min it was taken away 🤦‍♂️ very weird and they took it from another table. Then at 2100h the fire alarm went off with sirens , some fire walls closed down and the waiters mentioned just to be calm, all under control, nothing to worry about. Music was switch off and the vibe was a bit different. Anyways, can happen. In the end we topped the dinner off with 6-8 Remy Martin XO cognac and we mentioned that perhaps they could provide one round for free / provided by the house because of the forgotten main course and too cold steaks served. However when we received the bill, a solid 4 digit number, we where quite astonished that we needed to pay all in full. It you ask premium prices, more than happy to pay it but also deliver premium service and food. If this can’t be delivered somehow, I also can understand it but provide as a gesture at least something . We had a short chat with the waiter about this but according to him all was fine so we didn’t go too much into discussion but it was a reason for me to provide this review. Hopefully they can improve on this because it seems like a pattern (three times we visit the restaurant in 6 months times we experience “issues” as in too cold served steaks and / or too bloody). Looks to me that it’s too busy in the restaurant and that’s why not too much attention on the cooking part: quick quick quick… my 2 cents… Too bad for such a epic place, location, good vibe and excellent wine. Please improve on the temperature of the meat and overall service and I am more than happy to adjust this review!

Ordered, pan friend baby octopus for starter, and king crab leg for main Crab leg at €95, both dishes doused in a mayonnaise sauce, couldn't taste fish! King Crab leg should be advertised as "dressed" Crab leg as was cold , mixed again with too much sauce and spring onion and put back into the Crab shell!!! Sacrilege!!!! Asparagus was over cooked and in a burnt hollandaise sauce!!! After a €500 bill I wouldn't come again, food is not as specified, and definitely not executed !

BAR REVIEW ONLY. Came here twice for drinks and small bites while staying at the W hotel. It has a fancy feel here and you see a beautiful view of the city. The bar lounge area is very dim lit too. Cocktails were okay, not the best, but some of their creations were decent. They have a full bar so many options to choose from.

Staff were really rude, heard them mentioning about how they know how much people are going to spend by how they look, we still ended up spending €175 and we were treated like we just ordered bread; I booked the chefs table also, food was nice the steak was lovely, I couldn’t recommend this place though just due to the staff and how rude they were.

Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere and food

We went there for dinner and of course steak! The service was attentive and friendly (maybe a bit too pushy for some people). We tried a couple of cuts, including the aged ribeye, and it was excellent! The starters were great, the dessert less! The vibe is a bar vibe with live house music during dinner time. It may not fit every occasion!

Very good meat, beautiful view, very nice open kitchen. Fairly high prices but honestly wide choice of meat, especially in the evening. We were there for lunch and are delighted.

Atmosphere and staff are good, but food ranged from disappointing to just OK. It’s very much style over substance here. Steaks are OK, but other dishes like Mac n Cheese with hardly any cheese was an interesting approach. Nothing memorable, and for the price it should be.

My wife and I went out for lunch, and everything was going smoothly until a family of four decided to have a video call with friends. They had the volume cranked up so loud that not only they, but the entire restaurant, could “enjoy” the online party. My wife brought it up with the staff and the manager, but he clearly had no intention of asking them to step aside or lower the volume. Most people go to a restaurant for a pleasant meal and would probably appreciate other guests being respectful. Definitely not a place I’ll be going back to!

One of a fave place to celebrate our special night, food is good but the service can be better! We always order couple small plates (try the foccacia, the jumbo prawn salad, foie gras and the octopus) and the steak (of course it’s a steak house! Lol). We feel like the lunch team is doing the better service than the dinner, so try saturday or sunday brunch!

Once, but never again! What a shame for this hotel! Lounge not designed for guests who want to drink a cup of coffee, no items for coffee. Just choose from the dessert menu, we are told. No appetizers for a drink. The table next to us asks for special tea, they just don't have it! The Cappuccino still contained coffee grounds. Hostesses at the entrance are not hostess worthy, what a mockery! Elevator very dirty. Chairs in the lounge dirty. Something really needs to be done about this, later I read other reviews, apparently I was not the first to notice this! Not catering and worthy of Amsterdam!

Wow! What a beautiful restaurant and a beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing and our server helped curate the perfect dinner for us by recommending dishes and even custom cutting a steak for us to share so we didn't order too much food. Best meal in Amsterdam, with a beautiful view of the city, in the chicest decorated restaurant!!
