Been here every year that we come to Almelo - great spot if the sun in shining to watch the world go by. Good is good and service is quick

Lovely sunny terrace. The food was tasty and more than enough, although I find it strange that you get fries on a plate with your hamburger, which makes the plate too full. It is not a daily special that was ordered. The steak was served nicely. But the rest of the experience is pretty worthless. It took a while before we were asked what we wanted to drink. It took even longer before we got something. Baguette was then served with two spreads... but no cutlery with which we could spread. We spoke to the waitress... she comes with 1 spoon instead of two and walks away immediately. Then we waited an hour and a half for our food. People who came in later did get their food. When the food still wasn't there after an hour and a half and we had been sitting with an empty glass for quite some time, we spoke to a waitress again. Something must have gone wrong in the kitchen. It can happen, but please report this. And at least ask if the empty glass can be filled (as compensation?). When we get to the cash register (because they don't come to the table with a pin machine)... you have to walk outside to show us where we were sitting. When you pay... they find out that the drinks aren't on it and we still ask what we had drunk. This part of the bill was somewhere else. I indicated that a lot had gone wrong this evening but no one responded. No more Nielz for us.

What struck me is that the sign at the beginning seems quite unfriendly. (could also be purely my own 'personal view/interpretation' of it!). I had a nice date here myself, and I didn't know it otherwise, so good first impression of both the restaurant and the date. ;) For the rest, professional staff, plus the nice weather and the location, I thought it was a pleasant experience.

At first the table wasn't really clean. We asked the employee to clean it, but she did not do it properly. That's why I had to clean it myself with the napkins I had with me. The food was also not of the same quality as before. At the end I asked the employee to put the leftover food in a box so I could take it with me, but she just put an empty box on the table and I had to pack it myself. In my opinion, this behavior is absolutely inappropriate. As a customer, I enjoyed coming to your restaurant and gave good reviews. But after this bad experience and the lack of attention, unfortunately I won't be back

In the summer it is an experience not to be missed in the company of friends.

Centrally located restaurant. We had ordered a little something to eat. Employees were friendly and quick. The food was nothing special, more like a snack.

It's a great place to be! Only the controls don't work as they should. I think waiting 20 minutes for a cup of coffee/tea is a long time in a quiet time, with enough staff walking around everywhere, no fixed tables or routes. Very unfortunate. Nice menu, nice large terrace.

The food (dinner) was excellent in terms of price and quality! Deplorable service. We were not helped. Had to walk to the cash register ourselves to ask if our order could be taken and the "service" afterwards remained of a low level (snack bar level). We also always walked back empty-handed, which meant that the starter, among other things, remained until the end.

Here a high beer done on the terrace. Tip to do! Food was very good. Beers not very special and also some more information and experience around the beers would be nice. Now you just order your special beer from the menu and you get it in a Nielz glass. Furthermore the service was not very fast but friendly.

The four of us went for a coffee break and the atmosphere was immediately great! 🌿✨ At the entrance you have to wait a while until someone receives you, which gives a nice and hospitable touch. What was a shame is that the summer menu wasn't ready yet, so we couldn't order cold coffee. ❄️☕ But a big plus: it is a smoke-free place! 🚭👏 The menu wasn't super user-friendly for me, but the drinks made up for it. I ordered the **"Mister Red"**, and wow – that taste! 😍 A perfect mix of sour, mint and strawberry. 🍋🌿🍓 But next time I'll definitely go for the **Fruit Punch**! 🍹 📸 I'm sharing some photos of our drinks, because they were really fresh and of top quality! 🔥✨

Had lunch this afternoon with my family. To start with, they have a lovely terrace with the sun shining right on it! It was already quite busy on the terrace at 11:45 and they simply could not cope with that with 3 staff. There wasn't much the service could do about that, so I won't go into more detail about it. The Cappuccino was quite weak and the Cocktail was not at the right temperature, with the syrup overpowering all the flavors. I ordered the Tosti Amsterdam, but this was a real fiasco. Cheese was not melted, Amsterdamsche Smuluien completely dried out and the Ragout tasted as if it came from a can... The bread, on the other hand, was tasty! The 12 hours were otherwise fine, but the tomato soup was a bit on the sour side and it tasted far from fresh. We also had fries to share, but they were so incredibly salty that we left 3/4 of them. You can sit there wonderfully and it is of course THE Hotspot of Almelo, but in terms of quality they can really make giant leaps!

It was busy (Friday evening) and our group sat in a secluded position (different room). Were we forgotten? But food and drinks were good. Atmosphere was also great!

Had satay. Tasty but not special enough to give 5 stars. Generous portions. Bami and fries, I didn't understand that combination...

Had dinner at Nielz two weeks ago, used to good lunches, but this time it went completely wrong. Since we were going to the movies, we didn't eat too much. Both a hamburger. When it was served I was totally disappointed. A hamburger with shrinkflation (miniburger). No lettuce, no tomato, small dash of sauce. It was served on a large plate that also had fries, way too many. They were also way too salty. It really didn't seem like anything. The only thing that was tasty was the macaroon dessert. Not worth repeating. Too expensive for this minimal dish.

Completely full, there were 6 people there for lunch, 1 drink each and lunch was 100 euros, so that's fine.

Arrived at 3:15 PM and there was no free clean table to be found, no one who could even say a friendly "hello". Sitting for 20 minutes waiting for drinks to be taken was completely ignored. There was one boy from the service who often looked around in a blurred manner. Other tables were rarely asked if they wanted anything else. This can be much better.

Had a New Year's reception from the photo club. I gave the food three stars because we only had a drink; but the food will probably get more stars next time...

Wij hadden het plan om hier een gezellige avond met z'n 2en te hebben. Helaas is dat voor ons totaal mislukt. Bij binnenkomst kregen wij een tafeltje aangewezen in een hoekje naast de in- en uitgang van de keuken. Mijn vriend bestelde 2 wijntjes en een glas water. Dit ging goed. Als vooraf had hij een mandje stokbrood besteld. Dit is met knoflooksaus en kruidenboter. Helaas kregen wij knoflookbrood met knoflooksaus. Vraag je netjes of het bestelde nog bijgevoegd kan worden, wordt er gezegd dat wij het verkeerde hadden besteld maar terwijl ik de bestelling nog met desbetreffend ober besprak liep hij al weg en schoof het door naar zijn collega. Misschien dat daar de fout is ingeslopen maar wij waren er klaar en hebben betaald en zijn weggegaan.

Great place for a drink or a bite to eat. We were sitting here with some colleagues at a long table, a bit of a walk and, while the place was quite full, they were busy putting up the Christmas decorations. Not really convenient with the stairs between the tables.

Niels is altijd druk en gezellig. Reserveren is wel handig. Prima eetcafé. Niet te duur maar goed om even een hapje te eten. Geen avondvullend programma.

Cold. No biscuits with tea or coffee. Service... Mwahh. Shame about Almelo.

Nielz is one of the few nice places in Almelo where you can sit comfortably and enjoy a delicious meal. There is a lot of service around, always friendly, there is plenty of choice, including vegetarian and vegan. The food is good and lots of choice.

Come from elsewhere, but have been regularly for a day trip to Almelo for several years. A wonderful city and environment, where it is particularly striking how respectfully parts of the industrial history have been preserved/incorporated into the present. Cheers! This time I enjoyed my lunch at NielZ and opted for the Boeren Uitsmijter. Top! * Super conveniently located in the center. * Everything clean and tidy. * Very large terrace with heating if necessary. * Very extensive menu. Something for everyone. * Alert, correct and fast operation. * Excellent price-quality ratio. In short...a pleasant introduction that requires repetition.... If you haven't been there before...do it...you won't be disappointed. Ed Jansen

Good service and tasty food for a good price

Had dinner with the family yesterday and I have to say; best experience so far! Service was smooth and the food was really delicious! Tip: try the celeriac carpaccio 👍

Normally satisfied, but unfortunately not the last few times. This is the last time. We had to raise our hands every time for someone to come by, but they just don't look at you. Are they all looking at the floor or are they standing at 1 table with 3 staff members? Then a waitress drops a full drink on me and the table. No apologies, no towels, nothing. My whole coat is now sticky. :')

It was a very nice atmosphere, but the toilet was very dirty. Drinks were tasty, but I thought the snacks could have been served with sauce, friendly staff.

Nielz, Door de locatie komen De gasten toch wel, zo’n sfeer hangt er. Wanneer je het terras wilt oplopen staat er een bord dat je moet wachten. Dit deden wij in eerste instantie netjes net zoals De mensen voor ons. Echter hadden wij al gereserveerd, en zagen wij 3 personeels leden gewoon een beetje staan en om zich heen kijken ipv naar ons toe te lopen. Geen oog voor de klant? Of druk met wat anders. Laten we dat maar in het midden laten. De mensen voor ons waren het wachten zat en zijn samen met ons ook maar het terras opgelopen. Wij hebben ons binnen gemeld dat wij hadden gereserveerd en buiten in de serre een plekje hebben gevonden. Wat ons opviel is dat het terras flink bevuilt was de tafel leek wel een mezenbol. Zoveel rotzooi zit er tussen de naden. De stoelen hebben hun beste tijd ook gehad en zijn toe aan vervanging, doorgezakt. Gezien de hoeveelheid kussens die her en der op de zitting liggen deelt menig klant deze observatie. De bediening is ook niet meer wat het is geweest. Althans diegene die ons in eerste instantie hielp mag zich gastvriendelijker opstellen. Misschien zat zijn dag er bijna op ik weet het niet maar het was een gemiste kans. Het eten is besteld: Schnitzel Nielz, smaak was okay, de buitenlaag was sompig. Variatie groenten was goed. Prijs (19,50) Kwaliteit verhouding was matig. (Vroeger was die simpel en gewoon goed) Jammer Schnitzel Italian, zelfde verhaal als hierboven. Sompige buitenlaag, groenten goed. Prijs (19.50) kwaliteit verhouding is zoek. Varkenshaas gerookte zalm, smaakte okay zag er goedkop uit. Gezien de hoeveelheid (die echt tegenvalt) verwacht je gewoon iets lekkers. Maar het was matig/okay. Prijs (26,-) kwaliteit verhouding is ook hier zoek. Ondertussen nog naar het toilet geweest. Wie ooit naar een onbemand duits snelweg toilet is geweest weet hoe dat kan stinken naar urine. De mannen toilet bij nielz rook netzo en zag er uitgeleefd uit. Toilet papier op de grond etc. Gasten versmeren het maar het personeel kan natuurlijk gedurende dag het geheel bijhouden. Er werd ons gevraagd of wij nog een toetje wilde, ik vroeg om een moment om te kaart te kunnen kijken en de bediening zou terug komen om de bestelling op te nemen. Diegene is nooit meer terug gekomen, dus maar besloten om af te rekenen. De kwaliteit die nielz in het verleden had lopen op het terras en in de zaak en keuken is hedendaags echt een gemis. Aan Een Goede training, aansturing en controle lijkt het te ontbreken.

Had dinner on the terrace on a warm evening. The staff was a bit stiff at first but later very pleasant. My lactose and gluten intolerance was a bit difficult at first, but was eventually resolved.

Need to get rid of something. I came to the terrace with my friend the night before last around 10:30 PM. The terrace was both covered and just outside it was still cozy with people. Thought we would have a drink. Google said open until 11:30 PM. Fine. 👍🏼 However: sat down and were told the kitchen is closed. Fine, just wanted something to drink. Only he also meant that drinks were no longer served. I found this very unfortunate. I like to sit here, regularly drink a delicious cup(s) of cappuccino(s) and then you are rejected like that.

Ik werd snel geholpen en de serveren waren zeer vriendelijk. Ze hebben heel veel keuze in broodjes en drinken de de cocktails waren heerlijk. Ik zou zeker weer terug gaan. Het betalen ging ook makkelijk je kan pinnen of contant betalen.

Service and atmosphere was very nice and it was not too expensive. The burger was very tasty. Fish & Chips was quite salty, but the sauce made up for it. Drinking cocktails at Nielz is definitely recommended 😊

Delicious and affordable food in a beautiful location!

8 p.m.: I only drank cappuccino. The cup was missing, I found it strange to drink from it, I didn't enjoy it. -Excellent service, gave me a normal cup of cappuccino upon request.☕️ But what I saw in the evening was food...Wowhh...Bowls with small snacks, many orders were the Nacho dish and hamburger sandwiches. And certainly not small portions. -large busy terrace, cozy and attractive. Highly recommended for a fun night out👍 -

Delicious food, always busy but pleasant.

Today we had lunch at Nielz, we do this often but this time it was very disappointing. Ordered a salmon sandwich, 13 euros. The sandwich was covered with sauce, 2 grated pieces of cucumber and the salmon covered just half of the sandwich with 1 (thin) layer. Since I was hungry, I ate half of it but it didn't taste like anything so I mentioned it and gave it back. They could do "nothing" about this, although the staff thought that this was not a porum either. When we went to pay, a drink had been taken off the bill and I left feeling "hungry". This was the last time Nielz.

Not normal, you pay 3.40 euros for a glass of water, the price for this was nowhere to be found! The chicken was disgusting! It looked like it came out of the microwave! The service itself also took extremely long, even though it was not busy at all. So my experience was abnormally bad. I will never come back here for the price they ask here!

Always enjoy yourself to the fullest

I have been visiting Almelo in the Netherlands for 4 years and on all occasions we have eaten once or twice per visit, spectacular food, good atmosphere and attentive and friendly waiters.

This is one of the two top restaurants in Almelo.
