OBA Café Oosterdok in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

Good place to read or do some work. There is a cafe downstairs and a restaurant on the upper floor. Good views on the skyline of Amsterdam from almost every single floor. It gets very busy after 12h in the weekends so early morning or later in the afternoon is the best time to find a space

Good food and good atmosphere but dirty windows. I came here for the view.

Large Café offers a limited selection of broodjes and other snacks in a quiet setting overlooking the train rails on one side and the library Atrium on the other. There is a play corner for kids. Free internet via Public roam services.

Simple café with sufficient offerings on the ground floor and upper floor of the public library. Accessible to everyone, a nice place to rest and have a coffee. The viewing terrace upstairs was closed when we visited, but we sat in nice armchairs on the ground floor.

Beautiful big modern Library. With theater, restaurants

Me and my friend ordered two pizza (margarita and barbeque chicken) to takeaway. Since the delivery time lasted so long, we decided to dine in. However, pizzas were really burnt and very hard to eat. They were awful. Indeed, the prices were more expensive than the regular ones from the outside. In short, service time was so long, taste was awful, and prices were not fair enough.

I love the place never tried their food before

You don't come for the food, but for the view. Rather average cafe in the library of Amsterdam, but with fantastic views over the city. Drinks and cakes were good or okay, and value for money too. A walk through the library is also a good idea.

Bizarrely bad experience at OBA café oosterdok. I ordered food with a simple dietary requirement (omitting an ingredient as a topping). This is agreed to and passed on to the chef. The cook then does not follow this up for unclear reasons. When I pick up the food and say something kindly about it, he yells at me to take the ingredient off. Then he says he doesn't have any because he is sick. Advice to this café not to allow sick employees to work with food (danger of contamination) and to indicate that it is unacceptable to treat customers in this way. This experience made the food taste anything but good. Too bad, this place has a beautiful view and potential for that reason alone. Plenty of nice places in Amsterdam where you can have a normal bite to eat and be treated kindly.

Here your child will only receive the coloring page shown at waist height when you buy something. Sales through children...meh. Not so chic.

We came for the view. Not far from Centraal Station. Save yourself some steps and approach it from the south side. Great place to experience sunset. The elevator was broken when we were there. We were able to take it up, but not down. Luckily the staff kindly took us down in a back elevator. Buff up on your Dutch very few English speakers here.

The staff gets really noisy at least 30 minutes before closing. 10 minutes before closing a male guard comes to the ladies room to pick you up from there. We’re adults thank you

They have very bad coffee, and the ladies behind the coffee machine cannot serve or make coffee.

I hate ot when they don't accept cash payment...

Geweldig dakterras! Schitterend uitzicht!

The driest banana bread i've ever had! Pricy food and drinks, impatient staff at cashier. The only good thing here is the atmosphere. It's quiet and with a nice train view.

Leuke en leerzame plek voor kinderen en volwassenen.

Fantastisch uitzicht op het spoor en de wissels. Daar komen we altijd voor terug. Daarnaast zijn de warme dranken er prima.

The banana bread is so dry I felt dehydrated after. Must be a few days old

Prettig om rustig te zitten. Horeca aan de prijzige kant. Voorbeeld: in de lift hangt een advertentie: eenvoudig broodje, hamburger, plakje kaas, schijfjes augurk, blaadje sla en nog wat ongeregeld om het wat meer bite te geven, € 13,95!!!!!!!

Used to be a hidden gem in Amsterdam to have a decent meal or coffee with panoramic view to AMS. After covid staff seems to be not the same. All of them are grumpy, slow and food quality seems dropped a bit.. Needs to rise their standard a bit and struve for better service, for a time being will cross this place of my visiting list.

Prachtige plek in de stad, vanwaar je op de 7e etage een schitterend uitzicht hebt op het mooie Amsterdam! Goed restaurant! Beautiful spot in the city, on the 7th floor you have an amazing view over the beautiful city of Amsterdam! Good restaurant as well!

Lecker, gute Qualität und preiswert (Vollkorn Baguette ab 5,50€,Hauptgericht auch unter 10€).Stylish und top Aussicht.

In de drie kwartier dat we er zaten heb ik vier keer het nummer 'Hey Soul Sister' van Train gehoord. Nu hoeft niet iedereen dit een grafnummer te vinden, maar toen ik wegliep maakte ik me toch een beetje zorgen om wat dit zou doen voor de mentale stabiliteit van het lieve personeel.

Too expensive. Looks better than it tastes. But great view!

Overpriced and at night the food quality is not as good as expected. Much nicer when it was La Place. Just go to Vapiano
