I had an excellent experience here. The Ali Nazik was easily the best I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced flavors, tender meat, and incredibly fresh ingredients. The rest of the food we tried was also clearly prepared with care and tasted fresh. On top of that, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which made the whole visit even better. Highly recommended.

A great Turkish ocakbaşı with warm hospitality and delicious food. Portions are decent, and the overall quality is impressive. The pita and bread could be improved, but the kebabs are truly outstanding—among the best we’ve had in Amsterdam. All in all, a fantastic spot that we’ll definitely return to soon!

A restaurant that perfectly satisfied our craving for Turkish food. The kunefe, stuffed meatballs, Adana, and cubed meat were delicious. The lamb chops were a bit tough, but the atmosphere was wonderful. Don't forget to make a reservation.

The portions are small, there are only 4-5 appetizers to choose from, the main courses were not bad, you have to pay 6 euros for water in a restaurant with the concept of raki by the stove, and when you ask for tap water instead, you get a reaction like this request, which I have heard for the first time in 10 years. You struggle for minutes to ask for water and ice to make eye contact with the waiter. We only asked for tea service on the table throughout the night with a special request. As a result, we tried it once, but overall I can say that it is an average quality service.

We were there with a group of friends. I don't know where to start. Firstly, the service is very bad. It takes ages before anyone even comes to your table. If you have convinced someone to come to the table, you can wait three times longer before something comes to eat. First they politely asked if the melon was good. It looked like anything but melon. Meze sucks. Bread was also not good. Unfortunately the meat was also inedible. We had to leave more than half behind. We regularly go out with this group. Well this was the first time, and there definitely won't be a second time. Don't waste your money on this dubious place. Better fries with mayo.

Top food, top service, top location. Every time I am in Amsterdam I come here. The chicken is juicier here on a spit than alive. You won't find anything better!

Very, very good service, just everything

We love this traditional Turkish restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is really nice and friendly. We really recommend the meat dishes. Although there are fireside, it is not that smelly. The price is very affordable for the atmosphere and taste of the dishes. Also “salgam” was really good, I recommend.

I later learned that it was a place where alcohol was consumed. When I asked whether the meat was halal, I received an unnecessary reaction. For this reason, I don't think I will come again. If you are sensitive, it is not a place I would recommend because it is both halal and a place with alcohol. In addition. Adana was delicious, but the liver was in very large pieces. Instead, the number of skewers can be increased and the dimensions can be reduced.

We have been going there for years with pleasure, BUT recently the prices have increased a lot and the appetizers have become very small. There are appetizer plates in Alacati style, they are small. If there are 4 of you, you need to say 2-3 of everything. Adana kebab costing 12 euros turned out to be 19 euros. Raki prices have reached Ali Ocakbasi prices. These changes did not happen.

The main courses were really good, but the appetizers were unsalted. What we can't understand is why raki is so expensive. We were disturbed by the fact that we were charged a fee for water and lastly for tea, and we felt ripped off. Everyone should pay attention to the prices of raki, it is 4-5 times higher than in the market.

The best Adana kebab in Europe is at Çınar Ocakbaşı. I'm not exaggerating, I can say it's perfect for kebab lovers. Cubed meat and chops are also very good. They removed the mixed appetizer from the menu. You have to order separately and the total price increases by over 100% compared to before. With the high prices on other products, the place has lost its old charm.

The best ribs we have ever eaten in Europe

Regrettably, due to a significant 48% increase in prices, I am unlikely to return. The portion sizes are extremely small and do not justify the cost. For instance, the Adana plate consisted only of the meat accompanied by a side of julienned onions, which felt quite inadequate. Additionally, despite multiple polite requests, they refused to serve tap water, which is a legal obligation in the Netherlands. It was apparent that the staff were hesitant due to strict instructions from the owner.

The food is OK but nothing special. The starters are simple and the oil on top is tasteless for olive oil. The atmosphere is dull. The service so so depending on person. We are not coming back. We ordered three main meals, they brought two, after a long wait when we asked about the third they told us that they were just started making it, when the other two were already on the table for some time. We had to cancel and share the two on the table. Then they declined us tap water after we've ordered drinks, starters and mains for at least 90 euro. The reason was "we don't serve this, you can order bottled water". Bottled water! There are much better places than this like Sham Oost or Orontes where you get a great service with a lovely smile and excellent food.

No main courses received at the same time. They don't report anything The food is edible but not special And you have to pay for the water, so no tap water.

Can a single skewer of Beef Steak be increased from €14 to €20 in one day? I'm surprised where the 50% increase was seen. The appetizers weren't good anyway. When meat prices increased like this, it became necessary to find another place.

You should definitely go, Amaterdam is a super place that will make you a habit. The staff is friendly, the service is great. The taste of the appetizers and the taste of the grill will remain on your palate, I highly recommend it. We preferred to sit by the fireplace, there are also table and terrace options.

I have been to many Turkish restaurants in the Netherlands and can say that this is one of the better ones. It was very busy here so we waited quite a while for our food this was made up for by a delicious meal and will definitely come back next time.

Never ! We were literally made fun of. One says you can sit, the other says you can't, but their words never match. How shameful you are! The communication with the customer was beyond disgrace, not even an apology was given.

Everything is really delicious and the products they use in their kitchen are of very high quality compared to the Turkish establishments in Amsterdam. If you want to drink raki and enjoy a tavern as if you were in Turkey, it should definitely be your first choice.

They say they don't have tap water and they try to sell us bottled water to charge it on the bill, in all places 2 glasses of water per person is free and so far none of them have charged us, we go with children and they drink water, since we know that the one on tap in Amsterdam is good

When I went to Çınara years ago, I enjoyed it very much and had the pleasure of eating good kebabs at affordable prices. However, the last times I went there were always disappointing. Although the environment and staff were good, yesterday I ate one of the worst Adana kebabs I have ever eaten in my life. It had no taste, no spice, no good cooking, no oil. Everything was bad about Adana. He would manage the appetizers. The stuffed meatballs were just good.

It is difficult to come from Turkey and enjoy food abroad. But I definitely recommend Çınar. I really liked the appetizers, salad, and delicious Adana kebab. I would like to thank the entire team for their fast and friendly service.

Price/performance is not good at all. You spend average 55-65€ pp with not the best quality of food. Service is unacceptably poor.. Ali Ocakbasi might be more expensive but has much higher quality - recommend you to give a try..

The Food was good and arrived also relatively fast. What I didn't like at all is that we have been charged with a bottle of Raki that we didn't order (and never came to the table) for an additional amount of 80 € more or less. When I realised it, I notified it and out of a bill of 160€, I got the 80€ back in cash for the bottle. We ordered 2 glasses of Raki and they charged us 4, I notified again the mistake and they told me that they were double portions. They weren't and also in that case I didn't ask for them. This time no money back. I felt scammed and I have at this point the suspect that it was not unintentional. For sure they won't see me again.

A typical Turkish kebab restaurant with delicious meat selection and mazes. Hospitality and Service are generally good, restaurant is very clean. Options in the menu are somewhat limited, but for sure for what there is, you get the taste what you pay for. I've been to this place in summertime and in winter. On sunny summer days sitting in front of the restaurant is super nice. In winter inside can be a little bit noisy. Can be a good choice for a group dinners.

Adanasi and its appetizers were delicious. The prices are quite affordable compared to other restaurants. A nice place where you can drink alcohol.

Definitely worth trying their padlican, ezme and icli kofte for starters. Then Dana ciger (cow liver) Adana kebap and Tavuk sis (chicken sis kebap) were amazing.

This is the first time in my life that I am reviewing a place. I have never seen anything this bad because everything was a fiasco from start to finish, we made a reservation by the fireplace, we were seated at the door entrance, we ate with our coats on because it was cold. The orders came half an hour later and were wrong. I ordered a beef steak and it came on skewers and the waiter explained to me that this is how we make steak, it's not wrong. My friend ordered liver and it came to Adana. Likewise, the waiter tried to sell it by making a lot of words. The portions are small and the plate is empty. There is only one pepper. It is impossible to get enough for 30 tables. There are 2 waiters looking after you. Even after you first entered and sat down, they only came to take your order 20 minutes later. In conclusion, do not even go through the door. The reason why I am so clear is this.. there may be mistakes, they try to be right and make you accept them instead of trying to accept them and try to compensate.. best regards.

Ocakbaşı için Hollanda'da olan belki de tek opsiyon. Meze/ara sıcaklardan biz sadece haydari ve içliköfteyi beğendik. Adana ve tavuk kanat güzeldi ancak kaburga eti çok sertti. Mezelerimizi yerken tam olarak 3 kere et sipariş edip etmeyeceğimiz soruldu, rakı/ocakbaşı kültürüne göre bu hız/baskı biraz değişik geldi.

Delicious food. It's a place mostly occupied by Turkish people, always a good indicator that the food will meet their home land standards.

Super leckeres Essen direkt vom Holzkohlegrill. Wir waren zum 2ten Mal hier. Von außen etwas unscheinbar. Es gibt einige wenige Tische draußen. Die Küche und der Grill ist im hinteren Teil des Restaurants. Wir können die Rinderspieße empfehlen und die Vorspeisen Platte mit verschiedenen Dips. Zu den Spießen wird ein frischer Salat gereicht. Brot kamen wir sofort nach als wir es aufgesessen hatten. Es gibt türkisches Bier. Service und Sauberkeit waren top. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Service was prima, alleen ik zou niet weer heen gaan voor het eten. Het eten was summier geserveerd daarnaast het was voor mij niet lekker en zeker niet voor dat geld.

Helaas niet zulke goede herinneringen aan dit restaurant. Bediening was super vriendelijk, alleen stelde het eten wat teleur. Vlees wat droog en de salade karig.

Kebapları ( ciğer hariç ), salatası ve yaylısı mükemmel bence lezzet olarak. Fiyatları da gayet uygun diye düşünüyorum. Sadece servis noktasında bazı eksiklikler var, uzun süre beklemeniz gerekiyor siparişinizi alabilmeniz için.

Authentic Turkish food that's reasonably priced

Amazing food. The best adana kebab and chicken shish I have eaten in the Netherlands. I am not saying this lightly; their kebab easily rivals that in Turkey. However, the only downside is their service, which could be faster.

Ik zocht al een tijdje naar andere Turkse gerechten dan de standaard grill room. Gevonden! Lekker vers brood bij de mix mezze. Manti, kleine deegwaren gekookt gevuld met gehakt waren prima! Helaas zijn de bijgerechten brood, salade en friet(!) een beetje karig, had graag een rijst of iets dergelijks gehad. De koteletten waren te doorgebakken; ik ga er altijd vanuit dat het standaard medium-rare is. Maar zal daar de volgende keer zelf naar vragen. Overall goede service en het eten smaakvol.
