A very disappointing and disrespectful experience. I visited on Sunday, September 6, at around 10:50–11:10 AM for breakfast. I had only been sitting there for about 10–15 minutes and had just finished my food. I was still drinking my coffee when a staff member came over and immediately asked whether I would be paying by cash or card. The message I received was quite clear: pay now and leave. I understand that Sunday mornings can be busy in Amsterdam, and I fully understand that restaurants need to manage tables and serve as many customers as possible. But I had been there for barely 15 minutes. I wasn't lingering after finishing everything — I was literally still drinking the coffee I had paid for. The food itself was very ordinary: scrambled eggs, toast, salad, and a rather weak cappuccino, for around €22. I understand that this price is not unusual in Amsterdam, but at that price, I certainly don't expect to be made to feel unwelcome before I've even finished my drink. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand how difficult restaurant work can be. But this experience was unpleasant enough that I felt compelled to write one. A weekend breakfast should be an enjoyable experience, not one where a paying customer feels rushed out of the door. Very poor service, and I would not return.

The name makes sense when you take your first bite. I ordered the English breakfast and orange juice and couldn’t stop saying Oh my god… after every bite. It was the best breakfast I have had in recent memory. The service was incredible. Friendly and fast. One gentleman offered to take a picture of me and my family member and it was the best picture we have so far on the trip of each other! I don’t know what he did with the camera settings, he just worked some kind of magic and it was amazing!!! Highly recommend the food and the atmosphere.

Do not go here this is a scam and very dodgy!!! The food was ok ish the glasses were dirty. The owner said the coffee machine was broken to get everyone to buy the 6 euro fake fresh orange juice then the coffee machine was miraculously fixed. He then started having a go at a couple for just ordering a coffee and then started telling our table about it. He made our whole group feel very uncomfortable the whole time we were there.

DO NOT GO HERE. The service was appalling. They tried to scam us charging 3.50€ for a tablespoon of maple syrup. Latte drink was terrible too to top it all off. Avoid at all costs.

I ordered an english breakfast. The food was poorly prepared, and the waiter wasn't well trained. In short, everything was overcooked. The eggs were dry. The bred under the eggs wasn't great either. The sausage was dry too and didn't taste like much. The only thing I enjoyed was the portobello mushroom. For the service, it was pretty terrible. Staff washed the sidewalk next to me and got my legs wet as I was eating, and a waiter argued with clients about how to pay the bill. When i was my turn to pay, i had to ask the waiter to show me the amount he entered in the machine before tapping my card. I also was never given a cheque to verify the amount owed. I will never eat here again.

A bit on the expensive side but the food was tasty and staff super friendly and helpful. The Milkshake was not really a milkshake - it was just sweet milk, no ice cream so keep that in mind if you are ordering. It was disappointing that they didn't make their own orange juice

Good food in a cozy atmosphere. There were plugs available at each table area inside for charging your phone. Table seating inside is tight but provides opportunities to meet your fellow diners.

Been here on kings day, i was talking to the server about my order inside the restaurant but someone from the outside kept shouting (probably telling the server something, he was also working in the restaurant but on the terrace outside) the server kept getting distracted and unable to fill my order which was annoying and also the beer sucks and expensive!

For a vegan married to a meat eater, this restaurant was the perfect place. The food was cooked to perfection. The gentlemen were courteous, respectful, and gave you space to eat and enjoy the people watching. See you next year!!!

Breakfast The toasted muffin had been squashed down so hard it was solid! The toasted bread was not toasted. Altogether grossly overpriced and very disappointing.

The food was taste however, if you need separate bill in your group make sure ask in advance. Otherwise they charge extra service fee.

I ordered a Heineken beer, which I always drink in bars. I ordered it at this bar, and they brought me a beer diluted with water. It was bitter, tasteless, and disgusting. My girlfriend ordered a mojito, which was just a regular Sprite with vodka and two mint leaves. The food was raw.

I had a coffee. It was ok. Wanted me to oay before I even finished the coffee.

I just came in for a cup of coffee and ordered four cappuccinos. I hadn't asked for the bill, but the waiter came over to me and asked me to pay. I then paid for four cappuccinos. Later, my girlfriend arrived and ordered two more cappuccinos, and then a friend came over and ordered three beers. Subsequently, the waiter came over to me again and asked me to pay once more. I said that I only wanted to pay for my own cappuccino, but he said that wasn't possible because the amount was too small and that I also had to pay for someone else's beer. This is truly unacceptable. Such service is completely out of character for me.

Very disappointing breakfast! We got the Shak shuka and the smoked salmon egg benedict. The eggs were over cooked and rubbery in the shak shuka. For the egg benedict, the english muffin was so dry it was crunchy and the salmon wasnt fresh. The service wasnt great either!

We were looking for lunch and were more or less lured in quite aggressively. I've experienced this in Turkey, but this was my first time in the Netherlands. Once inside, we were given the menu, and the prices turned out to be quite high. The menu also proved to be rather opaque, as there were no drink prices listed anywhere, and according to other reviews, there's an extra charge for the sandwich on a burger or wrap, even though this isn't mentioned on the menu. We each ordered an egg dish: my mother an "uitsmijter" (fried eggs) and I an omelet. For the €16.90 listed on the menu, it wasn't really worth it. My mother's bread was toasted far too hard, making it tough and almost inedible. We ended up paying almost €45 each for those two dishes and a hot drink. That would mean the drinks cost more than €5 each, or there was an extra charge for the bread, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. Judging by other people's reviews here, that's quite possible. We couldn't check this because we didn't receive a receipt. The restaurant is otherwise neat and clean, and the service was friendly, although the benches aren't very comfortable and the atmosphere isn't very welcoming. All in all, not recommended, and unfortunately, we won't be returning. Even for a tourist area, we find the prices excessive, and the menu is unfair. For that price, you'd be better off going to Subway for lunch.

My wife and I had a full english breakfast on the 20th January. It was by far the worst breakfast iv had in my life. First of all they gave us a fork and a steak knife which we found funny but when the breakfast came we understood why. I couldn't cut the toast with the steak knife.i couldn't believe a knife that's made to cut steak was unable go cut a slice of toast. Every item on the plate tasted awful. Two mouthfuls in and that was enough fo me. Absolute rip off. The latte was freezing after 4/5 minutes. And I had the pleasure of being charged 55 euros for this monstrosity of a breakfast. I'd avoid this place like the plague.

Food took a long time to arrive. There is no real difference between the full English breakfast and the English breakfast—the only extra is an additional egg. The sausage was very poor quality, and the bread was hard. Drinks were served well before the food, and by the time the meals arrived, our drinks were already cold. Overall, the experience was disappointing.

Waited over 30 minutes for the classic burger while staff repeatedly told me it would be “out soon,” which was clearly not true. Throughout the entire experience, the staff were rude and dismissive, acting as if the issue was an inconvenience to them. To top it off, there was no compensation and no real attempt to make things right, plus the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold, which just added to the frustration. Completely unacceptable service.

The worst bacon croissant I have ever had, dry, no flavour and hard as a rock. Paid 4.50€ for a simple croissant with one slice of dried bacon inside it. Will never come back.
