Order Sichuan in IJplein/Vogelbuurt

the menu is small and is true to sichuan style i.e. actually share-able plates. the food was nicely tongue numbing and delicious. make sure to order to prawn, green beans and the duck. the eggplant starter was stunning!

I eat there a few times the food is delicious and fresh The menu is not big they have a small card and that makes it very easy to pick something the popcorn chicken is really recommended also the spicy dumplings are very good

Updated review: they changed their location to a much bigger place. The food was very delicious and the service was very efficient. We ordered the prawns dish, duck dish along with a couple of starters. The tofu skin salad was very good. ------ Old review:The food, service and ambiance was great. We tried their Dried Tofu with Peanuts salad and it was very delicious. Though it says salad it was more of a dish by itself. We also tried their Mongolian Beef and Chilli Chiken. We ordered one fried rice on the side and all the dishes were very tasty. The portions were big enough for two people. The highlight is the fact that the dishes were not too spicy. They balanced the spice very well and one can taste the dish without the overwhelming spice. Their natural wines were very good. The lady who served us was very friendly - we had some nice conversations. The restaurant had a very bohemian chic vibe and the decor was interesting. The water view from the restaurant is very beautiful and we were able to see the sunset partially.

Great food! Tasty Sichuan dishes and the vibes were immaculate. Would recommend for a casual dinner and night out!

Very nice eatery in Amsterdam North. Delicious food, nice and spicy, although you can make it as spicy as you want. Nice atmosphere too. Definitely recommended!

Great vibe alvough the food not really good and not comparable to Sichuan on Warmoesstraat. Popcorn chicken and the duck were nice, also the prawns for the rest not delish unfortunately. Nice cocktails tho

As a Sichuanese I'm saying this with pride and joy: we finally have authentic Sichuan BBQ in Amsterdam. Of course we don't have the luxury to bring all the ingredients from Sichuan, but for what is available here, they are making the most out of it. And what feels even better than enjoy your food while being surprised by familiar Sichuan dialects everywhere -- eaters, chefs and even the owners. I also love the club they're collabing with :) all the fun in one place.

Food is good but staff is the rudest I’ve encountered in Amsterdam. Server literally rolled her eyes at us after she made a mistake.

Scarce but delicious food (quite spicy though). The service leaves a lot to be desired, quite mediocre. We were served by a girl with a reluctant attitude, sullen and with a fish face. When we asked him to correct the account, he told us "next time I recommend you notify us before you have paid", putting the blame for his own fault on us.

The food was amazing. I loved the Kung Pao Prawns with sweet and sour sauce and the crispy rice cakes were the stars of the show!!! The Mango Sticky Rice cocktail even though it tasted just like Pina Colada but it was still very delicious. One thing I really didn’t like was the strong colored lights 🥲 I understand to go to a bar with lights like this but not at a restaurant 🥲

Finally found actual spicy food in Amsterdam - and super flavorful! The ‘BBQ’ and ‘sides’ portions are generous - wasn’t expecting that and we over ordered . Will definitely be back!

After Order Sichuan closed at sexyland, which I loved, I’ve been wanting to check the revamp out, to see if it was as mind blowing as that one. The food was nice. Had a few veggie/vegan options which gave some variety. Nice spices, interesting dishes overall. I liked the fact it’s still in Noord, however the fact it was in an empty club/ greenhouse gave it a weird energy, but I am sure it would have been good if it was fuller. I don’t often write reviews, but felt like it was in place here. I would come back, but the service was horrible. I don’t expect smiles all day, but the server was just flat out rude and moody. She even tried to argue with my friend. Next to that service wasn’t fast or attentive. I had to go up to the bar to order, which is fine if it’s the vibe, but it isn’t. It was a Wednesday night and pretty empty. They had 3 people on FOH, so I don’t understand where it went wrong. I hope this is something that was a one off, but I do think it needs some work.

Best duck I’ve ever had, full of flavour with crunchy skin. Vegetables are very fresh, perfect!!! Will definitely come again!

I have some mixed feelings..correct me if i’m wrong but this is the same restaurant that was opened at sexiland? It was my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam so I was eager to try this one out, however I ended up very disappointed, the menu was completely different, the food was flavorless and small, they ran out of eggs for fried rice and overall the food taste very different compared to the sexiland one, other than the beautiful interior I really did not recognize the restaurant anymore, I crave the old menu:(

Excellent food! Good service. Interesting location. At first, I thought I was getting abducted, but once the restaurant was in view, I felt safer. Excellent balance of spices. Not overwhelming, yet plenty of flavors.

I like to eat here, but my last visit was very disappointing. There was little attention for the customer, orders were not received and we had to ask for the bill several times. It wasn't busy that evening. The food is top and of high quality, as we have come to expect from the Zeedijk location. Service could really be better. Do something about it, you have a lot of potential.

If you have ever been to the Sichuan restaurants in Central and you think that this place operates at the same level, you will be in for a rude awakening. I think the food is sent to the restaurant by boat. Same quality yes… but clearly smaller portions and menu. The service is really not okay. Orders are forgotten and the service does not respond adequately. Although I have nothing against it, this place is run by all kinds of hippies. This gives a vibe that does not suit this restaurant. We regularly go to the Zeedijk location. Compliments on how you are treated there as a guest. Clearly there is still work to be done in the north location!

ORDER Sichuan, above the new Sexyland at IJplein, is a pearl of a restaurant with fantastic views over the IJ, super friendly service and a great menu. In addition to delicious drinks, we ordered the very tasty eggplant, the deliciously spicy sizzling chilly chicken and fried rice to share. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique spot away from the hustle and bustle, and a stone's throw from the city!

Good food, horrible service. We went for the Mongolian beef, Cabbage and some fried rice, all pretty tasty. But the serice, my goodness: It already took them 25 minutes to take your order and bring something to drink and the food was also served separately, with the fried rice as the third course..indeed when the rest was already done. The staff had no idea what they were doing and were overall more interested in talking with each other... Really a shame for the "stars" in the kitchen. Improve your service and you have a goldmine!

The entrance is very hard to find. Staff is rude and inhospitable. Very small menu selection. The chili chicken that we had was okay but very dry and no sauce was available. The whole experience was quite jarring. Never again.

Stellar location, fine service, but wouldn’t eat here again. Ordered beef and chicken dishes which were both so deep fried that they were basically the same. The ‘barbecue’ vegetables had no bbq flavor at all, and instead were so covered in MSG they were borderline inedible.

Lovely place! Been here a few times before and it still never bores me. The orange wine is an absolute win same as the mongolian beef, the sizzling chicken and the lovely green beans. I recommend going if you like spicy food, good wine and sweet service

Same food as Sichuan restaurant in the center. The portion is smaller and I believe is a bit more pricier. The service is great but don’t try to expect here as a regular Chinese restaurant, believe me, it’s not, it has the mixture of Hippie and traditional Chinese decoration, it is a nice experience, also on the second floor, there are always some nice events organized!

The food is decent (approved by a friend living in Sichuan more than 20yrs)! Also nice vibe and locations. Good dishes on the menu: Number 5,6,7,9,10,12,14 It’s a pity that they’re just allowed 75 mins per reservation as they’re quite busy.

The first visit was a fantastic experience. Ate there for the second time yesterday and everything, including the fried rice, was way too salty.

Very tasty food. Delicious vegetables, meat and vegetarian. Menus are for sharing. Nice view and nice music. Friendly service. The wine is pricey but tasty. If you have leftover food, you can take it with you.

Food was tasty and was on the table quickly. The service and hospitality can still be improved. We had a time slot of 1.5 hours and 15 minutes before the end of it we were told quite clearly that we really had to leave. Even though the restaurant was practically empty and the next guests were clearly not there yet. We were 5 minutes longer than our time slot and then we were rudely chased away, so we went downstairs for a drink. Half an hour later we looked in the restaurant and there were still tables empty, which means we could have finished our drink for another 10 minutes.

Such a fun spot and one of my favorites to take visitors when they're in town! Great view of the water, a unique atmosphere, and delicious food to share.

Very nice food with great portions for the price. Pretty unreal for Amsterdam. The place is easy to reach from the Central station. However, it is a bit hard to find the entrance once you are at the sexyland. We found the food a bit too dry so we asked for chilli oil and soy sauce (they only put a bottle of tap water on the table but no sauces). They brought those to the table, they were amazing and we were not charged extra for those. Overall, amazing experience for relatively low price. I spent 21 euro for a bowl of white rice and mongolian beef (+ water + sauces), but the meals can easily be shared and I would recommend 2 x rice + 1 x meat dish + 1 x vegetable dish.

Sorry, a bit stupid to only give 1 star while the food and wine were absolutely delicious. But we are in shock with the way we developed the restaurant. Upon arrival we were told that we had a round of one and a half hours, but due to a train delay this was only 1 hour. Then after 20 minutes we had to ask for the menu ourselves because we were not being served, only to be promptly kicked out with full wine glasses. The plates of food with the last bites still on them were pulled from under our noses. You cannot politely kick everyone out of your restaurant at half past nine, this is really strange. Other tables around us had the same bewilderment.

Service was really a bit mediocre: staff were mainly busy with each other, the person who served us had chewing gum in him and was on his phone all the time. The food was tasty but considering the service not worth the price. By the way, wine was also expensive for how mini the glasses were.

Had a memorable visit to Order Sichuan restaurant in Sexyland, conveniently located near the ferry. The decor is tastefully done, creating a lively atmosphere. The Asian cuisine was excellent, each dish a delight. The staff were welcoming and provided great recommendations. Only slight downside: the music was a bit too loud. Highly recommended for a unique culinary experience with quality service

It's great, I celebrated my birthday yesterday and everyone had a great meal. Even my mother liked it there. Nice staff and they only play hip hop 👍🏾

Great sichuan food and drinks, fun atmosphere

Coolest Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam- unique vibe and fun decor. Food is decent but not super authentic - but that’s ok given the western vibes

Yesterday I had dinner with a large group for my birthday. Service was absolutely perfect from the moment you arrived! Gave us all the time to think about what we wanted and thought along very well. We are a large group so I could imagine that this could be annoying, but nothing was too crazy for them. Everyone in the service was super friendly, pleasant and relaxed. The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is very good and it is affordable, we were completely full. Really recommend it to everyone!

Had a delicious meal in the past, but today turned around after unfriendly treatment upon arrival. We were 6 minutes early for our reservation at opening time and had to wait outside in the pouring rain.

As a big fan of the locations in the center we decided to try the noord location, unfortunately, it wasn’t a good decision. The food quality was far from what we know from the other locations, half of the food was extremely dry. The staff was arogant and it was hard to get their attention. The vibe of the restaurant is nice, but if you’re looking for a good food I would rather go to the ones in the city 😊

Delicious authentic food. Views next to the window are great. Wines are expensive, 7€ for a tiny glass. Better to buy a whole bottle I think. I definitely recommend it though!

Unfortunately I have some mix feelings and comments about this restaurant. Me and my friends we went to have dinner and we had a big table of 12 people. The evening started positive as the waiter made the possible to accommodate all of us even though we had two people extra coming (reservation for 10) afterwards we don’t know why, the waiter was so rude to all of us, with some weird comments, highlights his answer to a pregnant friend who naively asked if they had something that she could eat (less spice), as a reply we got “I don’t know, I’m not pregnant”. Was not the only rude comment we got. This is not the kind of service you expect I would say. The place is really nice, I would recommend but I suggest that the waiter (a blonde guy) think a bit more before mistreating people. Luckily we were really happy and enjoyed the evening besides all his behaviour towards us. Only reason I can’t give 5 starts.

Leider wurden wir dort sehr arrogant und unfreundlich behandelt. Mehrere Mitarbeiter (alle in weißem Unterhemd, ich weiß nicht, ob das wichtig ist), waren sehr unfreundlich und genervt. Der Kellner beachtete uns praktisch nicht und wenn dann nur arrogant. Als das Essen kam, knallte er die Teller auf den Tisch, einmal auf meine Brille ohne eine Entschuldigung. Unsere leeren Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt. Als ich am Ende kein Trinkgeld gab, verschwand er wütend und ohne ein weiteres Wort. Das Essen war aber wirklich großartig! Wer gutes, aber sehr teures Essen essen will, was von Kellnern serviert wird, die zu gut für ihre Gäste sind, findet hier den richtigen Ort. Echt schade!

Nice setting, good food and great service

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Nothing to note for me. Book in advance if you want to get some seats around 19-21. One of my favorite go to spots for dinner with family &friends. Recommend the whole menu except for the dumplings. Mostly take aubergine, green beans, tofu salad and some of the crispy fish. Doesn’t disappoint if you like bold, spicy and balanced flavors. The orange wine they serve is so good too. Chill atmosphere, if you book on time there might be seats outside in the sun!!

Food was amazing, smaller but very well picked selection from the other Sichuan location. The service was perfect, and the music and the view made it an amazing evening. One of those places which reconciled me with the sometimes very unpleasant restaurant scene in Amsterdam. Thanks a lot to the whole team you guys are killing it ❤️💫

Amazing spot!!! Good food is the least I can mention. On fridays they even have the coolest dj’s from town to play there while you can view the ‘skyline’ of Amsterdam. Better give yourself some time and joy to check it out!

Cenamos delicioso. La comida tiene muy buen sabor y es vasta. Recomiendo pedir arroz y dos platos para compartir, pues es muy llenador.

11/10 some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Loads of amazing veggie options. Service was excellent. I’m going to be coming back to Amsterdam purely for this place.

A special place, a fest for the senses and celebration of the Sichuan kitchen. Super friendly employees, who make you feel at home. Highly recommended if you’re in to these kind of places.

Heerlijk gegeten hier. Mijn broer en ik waren op zoek naar een goede plek om de Sichuan keuken te proberen. We zijn allebei liefhebbers van pittig eten. Wat hebben we het hier goed gehad. De plek zelf riep nogal wat vraagtekens op. Hoe kom je binnen en waar is het restaurant. Gelukkig waren de mensen die er rondliepen heel lief en wezen ons de juiste richting op. Eenmaal binnen hebben we ons lekker geinstalleerd. De bediening was fijn en gaf ons goede adviezen. Vooral de hotpot heeft mijn hart gestolen. Heerlijke bouillion met enorme variëteit aan groenten. Ook de chili chicken was erg lekker wij komen hier graag nog een keer terug om de rest te proberen.

Born and raised up in Sichuan, I have to say the food is really authentic here! It is not Dutch-Chinese food at all. We asked for extra spicy and it turned out to be a very enjoyable level of spiciness. In general very nice place for hanging out with friends while enjoying Sichuan food. Highly recommend. Location: the place is a bit wild and on the top floor of a pink Neon Lighting building. Has to reach there by ferry from the central station. The entrance is really confusing, you have to go through several doors and walk up a "private" stairs to get to the restaurant. I guess there were signs but we arrived in the dark and took some effort to get there. Service: the waiter and waitress are really casual and easy to reach. But since it was quite busy there on Sat evening, they served the main dishes before the starter. Environment: A night-club style of setup, and literally there is a club downstairs. The tables and chairs are foldable. So don't expect a really comfortable and quite eating atmosphere. Food: Thumbs up for the food!! Very satisfied. It is a pity that compared to the "headquarter", this branch has a limited selection of dishes (20 or so). BUT good enough to fill a belly!! Got both veggie and meat choices. The spicy dumplings are too sweet from my point of view, even though in the authentic recipe it is supposed to add sugar but I still think it is an overdose. There is a Sichuan pickle jar in the kitchen to make real Sichuan pickles. HOTPOT is a MUST-TRY! All the ingredients in the dish are accurately well-cooked and the red oil is the best in NL. No complaints about the rice. The green bean is also highly recommended. Will come again.

太厲害了 不枉費跋山涉水 其實只有涉水坐船過河但真的好冷 首先是餐紙竟然是探春 餐點選擇不多 如果人多真的可以全部點一輪 辣水餃雖然有點小但醬料風味層次很豐富 吃完水餃醬料是可以拌飯的！ 冒菜必點 無話可說 辣椒雞 好吃 乾煸四季豆跟白菜都表現得非常好 唯一遺憾是魚香茄子吧 就 茄子不太入味有點大塊但完全沒影響這間店太好吃了 酒單裡有橘酒很意外 很建議嘗試 完全可以隨時回訪

First, the setting is fabulous! I loved the food too, super tasty and surprising. And our waitress was super professional and friendly, despite the fact that she was obviously super busy. Totally worth a visit!
