Ox & Bucks in Zuidas

Pretty sad and ultimately off-putting experience. Came here for a client's goodbye lunch for a team member that is leaving. Food was late (despite them staggering orders in off-peak lunch and an empty room), they seemed to be annoyed at my client for asking where the food was... The manager ended comping the drinks - but the mostly cold food and lack of empathy from employees makes it a place neither of us will return to. PS. They did eventually blame the delay on someone ordering a well-done burger. My Eggs Benedict (Eggs Royale on their menu) was also cold, so I guess they don't time their food either.

What a lovely ambience and such friendly & kind service. Really liked the food. My new favorite spot in Amsterdam.

Nice place, cozy atmosphere, but the service leaves much to be desired. They're absent, take a long time to come and serve you. They disappear and we can't even get in touch.

Simply not worth the pretty high price. All dishes seemed very basic and stripped down to save costs. Everyone in the group was disappointed with lunch.

I’m sorry, but this can’t get much more than a one star review. Apparently the kitchen and the serving staff don’t talk to each other and they just forget about your order. When it finally came it was cold.

We ate their burger and a 12-piece assortment of fries (bitterballs, cheese sticks, etc.). The food was excellent and full of flavor. But we still had to wait an hour and a half before being served.

Do not eat here! I waited an hour for food that never arrived. Terrible service!

I went to Ox one day and the system was down, and I had to wait a loooong time to order a beer, and then it was a really long wait to get it. The young staff couldn't handle the pressure and didn't know how to help customers when the screens weren't working.

The staff was friendly, but not very competent. Working as a waiter and providing genuine service based on intrinsic motivation unfortunately remains a rarity. The food was fine, except that we ordered a burger and fries, but the fries were missing. We assumed they would be delivered. After inquiring for 4 or 5 minutes, we were told they were out of fries that day. We received an apology and a discount, but no alternative was offered. The atmosphere was so-so, and the interior looked a bit worn; it could definitely use a refresh. All in all, we left feeling unsatisfied. I won't be returning.

On Thursday afternoon with colleagues to Ox & Bucks for a drink - what a nice surprise! Music, good atmosphere and nice service. You notice that there is real attention for the guest here.

Today I had breakfast at Ox & Bucks for the first time, and wow... what a surprise! Delicious yoghurt, freshly baked croissants, eggs - everything taken care of down to the last detail. Really recommended to start your morning well.

Bare plates, high prices, long waits, frozen food. Seriously? In response to owner's comment: I appreciate the offer, but I don't need a free lunch as compensation. I sent an email with a more detailed response.

Chairs outside are not comfortable. There is no real atmosphere either outside or inside.

The food was great. Especially the carpaccio is recommended 😋. The coffee is also very tasty. In addition, the service was friendly and fast. Cozy atmosphere, even on a weekday. A hidden gem, ideally close to the station. I will definitely come back here!

Ox & Bucks is also a great place for dinner. The menu is very diverse, and the atmosphere remains great - a bit more chic, but still cozy. What's extra nice: every week they have a surprising main course that they discount to only € 19.50. Highly recommended if you want to try something different without it hurting your wallet!

At Ox & Bucks you can enjoy a delicious, varied lunch in a light and spacious setting. The large glass walls give the restaurant an open character and offer a beautiful view of the lively Zuidplein. Whether you come for a quick bite or an extensive lunch: there is something for everyone. The service is always friendly and fast, and they do that little bit extra to make your visit a pleasant experience. In short: a top restaurant. I will definitely come back here. Rutger

Great service and the cooks took good care of my gluten allergy, they also have a great terrace to have a drink with your friends.

Good food and huge sitting area. I was amazed to see such a busy restaurant with good service. Hats off to the staff there!

Drinks here in the evening are fine (maybe a bit expensive) but the service is very slow. I see at least three people behind the bar but it takes them very long to take orders (15 mins?) or deliver drinks (also 15 mins?). The place was not busy either so I'm not sure what they're doing with their time.

Great place for a meeting or a cup of coffee. Lunch is also nice. Not too expensive.

Very slow service. Although I waived, I waited to make an order for 25 min and then waited for ordered poached egg for another 25 min. I was super hungry and finished the meal in 1 min. Place was 10% max occupied. There were 2 waiters running, who both stood by one table for 5 min chatting, ignoring anyone else entering the restaurant.

Avoid if you want to enjoy your work brake. It took them 1 hour and 10 min to bring 3 burgers. We asked 3 different members of the personnel and we got 3 different excuses. Very dirty place without any hospitality mindset. Just avoid!!!!

Grand café in Amsterdam South. Sat here a few times for a business meeting to drink coffee. I wouldn't go here in my spare time, but it's not the area for that either.

Brief menu, dishes not very well prepared. The meat I ordered was pretty bad and so was the dessert. I wasn't able to eat them. Lax service and noisy and not very pleasant atmosphere.

Small and expensive portions, the taste is also questionable except for the soup, that one is good. P.S. The wait time is insane Update: After some time and several more visits I'm changing my review. The burger is good and usually doesn't take much time to wait for. Sandwiches are also good.

It was on Saturday evening that the Dutch team had to play against Turkey. So we were pretty much the only guests (around 5pm). Which worked out well, because it meant we could choose where we wanted to sit. The staff was attentive when asking if we were having a good time, and reminded us that they would close at 8 p.m. When paying I understood that the Saturday evening opening was a pilot. Which turned out well

I recently visited this restaurant and had an extremely disappointing experience. I ordered cheese cake & it was clearly not fresh. When I made a complaint to the staff the manager started arguing and was firm on his point that it was the fresh cake, and I was wrong. To top of it he dint gave me any refund nor he exchanged the cheese cake. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. I won't be returning anytime soon.

We were able to get a drink just before closing time. Super customer friendly from Kate! She is the best! I would love to come back for her customer friendliness! The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. ☀️

The food is ok..just came to eat because it was raining..the shop near Zuid station is convenient.

Nice place. Nothing super special, but good food and atmosphere if you have an event or just want to go for drinks and bites. They did close the kitchen quite early when we were there (~8pm), not sure if that's their normal closing time.

We went to have breakfast after leaving the subway and when we asked for it they brought us the menu very late and they did not attend to us. We have only been able to have a coffee. With which we have decided to leave the premises.

I come here for years on occasional borrel after work and have not yet had a even mildly unpleasant experience. The staff, especially Noemi and Tamar are extremely attentive, pleasant and welcoming, which is a balm to one’s soul after whole day/week at work. The food comes out great and tasty, I am definitely going to keep on coming. Thank you ❤️

Nice place to sit and talk as it is not very noisy there (I was in later in the morning). I had only something to drink. Hence I am not able to give statement with respect to the food.

Good tasty draught beer. Ordered snacks were good but looks bit expensive for me.

Pleasant place to eat, I had the Bitterballs to start, very nice and with some beer. Then had the meatball sandwich, again very good. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, good atmosphere and excellent service.

Wij hadden de burger genomen, er was iets wat erg smaakte naar zeep?!? De frietjes kon je voor €5 per portie bij bestellen, dit was helaas echt een mini portie.. dus veel te duur voor wat je kreeg. Service was verder top, vriendelijke serveerster, maar ik zou hier niet nog een keer heen gaan voor het eten. Het was ook niet overal lekker schoon wel iets wat ik belangrijk vind in een restaurant.

Фирменный завтрак около 13€. В первый день не оказалось бумажных стаканчиков, чтобы забрать недопитый кофе с собой. В другой пообещали заменить бенедикт на обычную яичницу (по просьбе), в итоге все равно принесли как по меню. Не слишком клиентоориентировны. Можно прождать официанта 10 минут, если сам не подойдешь.

Broodje bal is aanrader. Leuke bediening.

Heerlijke appeltaart (aanrader), de espresso wat aan de slappe kant. Twee koffielepeltjes retour ivm niet schoon; serveerster contoleerde meteen de rest van de lepeltjes, heel goed. Schone toiletten.

Bij toeval deze leuke zaak ontdek. Super vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk geluncht. Zeker een aanrader als je onderweg bij Amsterdam bent en trek krijgt om even om te rijden..

Na een dagje amsterdam hier terecht gekomen. Er hangt een hele gezellige sfeer, het eten is erg lekker, en het personeel vriendelijk. Alles ziet er top uit, en een borrelplankje is nooit verkeerd. Het is goed bereikbaar met openbaar vervoer of met de auto. Parkeren kan onder het WTC. Hier komen we zeker nog eens.

We hadden hier een afscheidsfeestje. We hebben dus alleen iets gedronken. De bediening was perfect. Het was behoorlijk druk maar ze konden alles aan. Het is een gezellige plek om zoiets te doen. Zeer goed verzorgd. We hadden er trouwens wel hapjes bij die ook iedere keer goed heet waren en lekker.

Zat er met een tweede gast die iets later kwam. De bestelling van mijn gast kwam eerder dan mijn bestelling die ik 10 minuten eerder had besteld. Tweede drankje duurde weer einddloos :-( Verder ok tent. :-)

Ruime plek achter glas in de zon, perfect als flex werkplek. Koffie was goed, personeel laat je lekker met rust.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Design des Innenraums gefällt mir äußerst. Das Frühstück ist vergleichsweise günstig, und schmeckt gut (6/10). Der Kaffee hat besser als erwartet geschmeckt (7,5/10)
