Nice show, great food, nice atmosphere

What a fantastic evening! Dame Shirley Sassy was hilarious and a really good singer, connected with the audience, and clearly had a great time herself! The other artists were a welcome change, and the food was surprisingly delicious! The only downside was that the cocktails were a bit pricey, but even these were surprisingly good! The show and the food were both more than we expected from this evening, and we will definitely go again! Okay, a lot of exclamation marks, but that makes the point clear: if you were still in doubt, GO!

Visited Paleis van de Weemoed recently and had an amazing experience. It’s under new management, and you can really feel the difference — delicious food, a fantastic show, and a venue in the Red Light District where the passion and care are genuinely evident. So glad we went.

It was a great show with a very good singer. The setting is nice, but 89 euros for dinner is really out of proportion, despite the entertainment provided by one singer, one dancer, and one pianist. The food is served on a single platter for the entire table. It starts with a bowl of bread, mackerel salad, and whipped butter. And each person gets one piece of beetroot and one radish. No joke. This isn't a garnish but is truly served as an amuse-bouche. The next platter is a starter for three: braised leek with half an egg. The main course is a pre-cooked piece of beef steak. Tender meat, which in this kitchen is only reheated. But again, it's served on a single platter per table, on a bed of celeriac puree. And a minimal endive salad on the side. (I saw at another table that they had ordered fries with it. Unfortunately, that option wasn't on the menu.) The dessert was a chocolate ganache (a mixture of chocolate and butter) just that. No garnish. In a container slightly larger than an egg cup. The plates weren't beautifully presented, and the purchase price wasn't that expensive. Except for the sukade (scalloped steak). It's a shame, because it was a lovely evening, and the space and service were pleasant. House wines are €38 a bottle. Unfortunately, you'd be better off spending €400 at a more culinary venue.

The food was good and entertainment was ok. Only 3 stars because it was advertised to be a burlesque show but was more like a cabaret show.

Found this place on our last night, we didn’t want a full meal so stopped & looked at the menu & saw they did small plates - perfect! The service was friendly & happily chatted through what they offered. We chose 3 plates between the 2 of us & all were absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely try this place again if we visit Amsterdam again.

The renewed Weemoed is just a little different but wonderfully cozy with fantastic shows and surprising dishes!

We went here (August 17th) during a Drag & Snacks evening and had a wonderful time. We started with drinks on the terrace and then watched the show inside. The staff was very friendly and happy to chat. The show with Kain was fantastic! We will definitely come back when we're back in Amsterdam.

Since July 1st, it's been taken over by a group of dedicated local residents. New chefs with delicious food, a refreshed interior, but still the same intimate, fantastic atmosphere with the shows!

I were having a nice day, sitting outside, and then start music inside, i was curious i get near the door, when a employee close me the door rudly. Not a nice gest to someone that was spend his money there..if i go back to Amesterdam, never go there again.

The food was less (the steak tips were really too spicy even for people who like spicy) and the main course was mediocre but the atmosphere and the incredibly sweet employees make up for a lot. The varied entertainment team provided a varied quality of performances but we certainly laughed. For a wonderful Amsterdam evening, the palace of melancholy is definitely recommended.

We had a really fun evening that exceeded expectations. We were a group of 12 and attended the drag show which really created a good atmosphere. Food was good. Could have been better on a few minor points, but maybe I'm just spoiled. It's certainly good enough for the price and there's a good variety of choice.

We were treated to an amazing evening of entertainment and great food. Attending a private party made the night even more enchanting.

Went to a Monday comedy night here. The acts themselves were great but the atmosphere was amazing! It’s a cozy place with a very welcoming and warm staff. Felt right at home and was greeted as soon as I entered. Rachel was a terrific host and got everyone to interact with one another. A very fun evening and will definitely be back!

Fantastic Monday Night Comedy every other Monday - I highly recommend! One of the better shows & audiences in the city :) plus the Amsterdam Expat group meet up there so it’s a great show to go to to meet fun & funny folks.

A fun show with nice food, drinks and a tantalising experience.

Nice experience, lots of laughter and singing. A truly old-fashioned cabaret experience with a burlesque edge. All in all a very nice experience where the food was also good!

A very fun night with great staff and atmosphere. We started the night with about 20 bread rolls (the staff just kept refilling the basket!) and our Prosecco. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The show itself went from about 7:50-10:50PM, the highlight being two fantastic performances from the dancer Kyra Clouds (@kyra.clouds on instagram). We spent around €300 between four of us after paying the deposit. Some of the downsides: we were unfortunately sat near the bar which was the furthest from the stage. I understand that someone has to sit there but it was a bit disappointing given we arrived at 7PM and a large group who arrived 50minutes late received the best spot. Sitting next to the bar also meant being sprayed by the glass cleaning tap. Overall a good experience and I would recommend. Prebooking essential.

Looking for an evening full of nostalgia and cabaret? The Palace of Melancholy offers a royal experience! The service? Like having personal lackeys – 5 stars for their attentiveness. The atmosphere exudes a touch of the roaring twenties, with 5 stars for the decor that makes you forget that it is 2024. The food is tasty, but the desserts didn't make my feet dance the Charleston on their own. In short, a wonderful evening out where the past is alive and well. Don't forget your boa and dancing shoes!

Great theater show in the atmosphere of the 'red Light district', in between the food was served, which could all have been a bit warmer and more. After the show, put tables aside and dance!! Very cozy!

It is and remains a great experience to push aside the curtain and enter an 'autre monde' and be immersed in the atmosphere of Paris, surprising variety, hospitality, cordiality and last but not least: a top show with humor, singing, teasing and spicy flirtations with the guests, who without exception enjoyed the whole thing. I was there for the nice dinner show where Marvy and April Summers sang live and some songs were lip-synced. Highly recommended. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely come again.

We were here yesterday for the Burlesque dinner show. A gift from my family for my 50th birthday. (sorry aurora..25 was a lie haha) We dressed in theme :) The Amsterdam geniality and warmth of the staff was a warm blanket. I don't go out that often anymore because nowadays you get the feeling that you should be happy that you can spend your money somewhere. Here it was exactly the other way around, as it should be. It is small-scale, which makes it very personal, but that does not diminish the quality of the entertainment. Each and every one of the performers created a real show, including the pianist. I see that some things have been written about the food. I think it's great to serve such a large group tasty, fresh and hot food at the same time. And what was served was all equally tasty and looked beautiful. In short. Thank you for making my birthday a fun celebration. Highly recommended

Marvy and her team put on a great Burlesque show for our group of 30 who were celebrating a 60th Birthday. We had such fun. The dinner was great and the whole experience exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun evening.

I booked a table to celebrate my birthday and confirmed my reservation by email. However, when I arrived, it turned out they don't have a 'reservation system' , so I ended up without a table or a reservation on the Friday night of my birthday. It was a very unpleasant experience.

The idea is very nice, but the execution could really be better. The food is really bad and nothing special. Service is nice and do their best. The performances felt a bit like they hadn't improved in years. And a lot of attention was paid to the bachelorettes that were there. In short, a nice idea, but it deserves some attention and some innovation. Suppose the food is very good or the music is better, then I would recommend it.

Het paleis van de weemoed is het paleis van Amsterdam en de tempel van de liefde. Hier leeft de liefde van en voor de stad maar nog meer voor de mensen. De mensen van het paleis begrijpen het leven en de liefde en weten dit te vertalen in een geweldige authentieke Amsterdamse ervaring. ❤️❤️❤️

What a vibe! We didn’t know what to expect and oh boy what a pleasant surprise! The show is absolutely incredible, encompassing the true cabaret spirit from funny to sexy, we were absolutely mesmerised by the show! The food was not great, but we didn’t mind, you go there for the amazing show :) definitely recommend to everyone, we are already looking forward to our next visit!

The Palace of Melancholy is the Moulin Rouge of Amsterdam! Great atmosphere, delicious food, attentive service, top notch. Aurora and the drag queens had prepared us for an unforgettable evening.

That's my mom, every time I visit one of her shows it's an evening of entertainment. am super proud of how she does it. service is also great, my boyfriend has celiac disease and they took good care of it. If you are in the area, take a look it is well worth it

I went yesterday and the food was absolutely not good, the steak was cooked too hard so it was still raw on the inside and the dessert was also nothing like it, crème brulee but with a generous dash of liquor instead of sugar. Never again for me

First time in Amsterdam, we came to have a drink here, and Mirian answered all our questions and was super nice, she took great care of us! He was very kind, I will recommend this place to my friends when they visit the city!

My wife and I booked the cabaret/burlesque dinner event on the day after enjoying a beer here. The location is nice and right on a canal. The night itself was great fun as well. The cabaret performer and pianist especially were brilliant and the staff were very friendly and looked to be having just as good a time as everyone else! The food was lovely a well. Worth booking in advance, especially for a larger group, although we got lucky as a table of two and they could squeeze us in last minute.

Onlangs een bedrijfsevent (dinershow) bij Paleis van de Weemoed georganiseerd. We hebben een fantastische avond gehad! De service was erg goed, eten was lekker en de performance 'Aurora en pianist' waren geweldig! Deze locatie is zeker te adviseren! Enorm bedankt! :-)

Een geweldige avond gehad bij Paleis van de Weemoed! De burlesque dinnershow was een fantastische ervaring - het eten was heerlijk en de optredens waren absoluut vermakelijk. De locatie, midden in het hart van Amsterdam, was gemakkelijk te bereiken en het personeel was buitengewoon vriendelijk en attent. Een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een unieke en plezierige avond uit in Amsterdam!

We hebben een geweldige avond gehad waarin alle medewerkers er zijn om je die ervaring te geven. We werden echt in de watten gelegd. Er werd vaak gevraagd of we nog iets te drinken wilden. De show is erg leuk. Aurora en Roberto kregen de hele zaal mee. Je zit de hele tijd met een lach alles te aanschouwen. Eten was lekker en goed. Keuze is wat beperkt. Maar er is voor ieder wat wils. Ook wordt er rekening gehouden met eet wensen. Wij hebben genoten!

We had a great time at this classic, fun dinner show. The staff are extremely friendly, fun and welcoming & took good care of us. The cocktails are really great - a lot of classics and some intersting updates and we really enjoyed the food. The show is really enjoyable too, old time cabaret entertainment with a little update. Wij hadden een menu met dranken arrangement vanaf 19:00. Bij het menu zat een welkomstdrankje die we niet hebben gekregen en ik vroeg om 1940 of we asjeblieft eindelijk wat drinken mochten aangezien we al 40 min betalen voor niks. Zet in ieder geval dan water neer! De broodjes op tafel stonden waarschijnlijk al uren want daar kon je iemand mee dood gooien. Bij het hoofdgerecht zat de vis vol graden en was de stoof veel te zout en ook hier was er iemand vergeten terwijl we dit vooraf hebben doorgegeven. Net als dat er niet voor iedereen glas werk op tafel stond. Aan het eind werd er ook helemaal geen koffie of thee gevraagd? Al met al kan dit echt niet voor zoveel geld. En nog een aandacht punt, in de toilet moet je met de deur open plassen zo krap is het

The Spectacle was quite good, and the food decent (part of my entree was still frozen, though). We booked a table well in advance, but we were seated smack in the middle of the path the servers had to use to get to the tables (and the guests had to use to get out). Better than other tables still: One lady was seated half into the doorway that led to the lavatories... But despite being bumped into every few minutes, I had a great time. The Manager was friendly, and quite apologetic after the meal. Still, the speed at which he went through the bill, and the fact that the receipt was promtly thrown away made me a tad suspicious. I asked for the receipt, and uncrumpled and checked it later when I had better light, and oh, surprise, the cocktails had been charged twice. So the moral of the story: You could do worse in that part of town, but do check the bill very closely (and to the Manager: a bad review isn't worth the 18 Euros extra you made). Despite the 2 stars, I'd still recommend the place.

Much better than I expected. We went for valentines. Service is great, everyone is polite. Beverages are not overpriced. The show went from 18:30 to 22:00 with gaps for eating. The entertainers were great. The space is small and it makes it more intimate. The entertainers can make eye contact and interact with everyone. I think it was worth the price and I would come back

I realy really love it. The show by the dinner itself, but also food. The stuff in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this experience I laugh and was amazed and totally charmed by the charisma and voice of ms Julia Herfst and maestro Roberto and of course onder big impressions of dancing skills stunning miss Ginny Vie Fauve. I will definitely go back to se another shows.

My boyfriend and I (we are both 30) booked the NYE show on the day of, and weren't sure what to expect with it being so last minute. Safe to say, we actually had the best NYE ever. I couldn’t stop beaming the whole night, the food was incredible, the timings, not to mention the performance and atmosphere. I am absolutely made up that we ended up here, and would definitely recommend! (By the way, I only really leave reviews if something is extra special)
