Too expensive for the quality. No music or atmosphere. Friendly staff though

We were not told the restaurant could not take credit cards until after we ate. The door on the restaurant stated that credit cards were accepted. The staff repeatedly told us to make a bank to bank transfer to pay because we didn’t have cash. We are American and a bank to bank transfer does not exist in the US. We had to run back to our hotel to get cash to pay for the meal. The food itself was okay and the service was sub-par. Would not recommend this restaurant for tourists, it was a very poor way to start our trip.

had our first dutch pancakes this morning and it was delicious, the staff are nice and accommodating highly recommend this place!

We had a reservation at 6 p.m. and were in front of the store shortly before 6 p.m. The gentleman in the store had sent us away because he had already closed the shop.

So, I thought I'd go to the *Pancakes Company* in Amsterdam to get some thick, fluffy pancakes. But what do I get? A crepe! Why the hell is this place called “Pancakes Company” when no one has a pancake in sight? The waiter assured me that this was a “pancake,” but my senses told me otherwise – this thin batter was definitely not a “pancake”! The taste was okay, but nothing that excited my taste buds. They probably bought the good review in the corner of the menu - yes, they're everywhere these days! I really expected more for the price. Conclusion: Disappointed, hungry and unfortunately without a real pancake. If you like crepes, go for it, but this has little to do with pancakes. Addendum, I just noticed that these are Dutch pancakes. Only 3 stars due to price and ambience

We were thinking of ordering pancakes (thick American style pancakes) but got a plain pancake. It’s the fault of the language so I won’t say anything about it. On the other hand, with hair and Nutella supplement for the modest sum of 11 euros (simple Nutella cream, I remind you) and for my partner 15 euros with the same thing as me and 2 crushed Oreos inside. Total 26 euros for 2 pancakes.

Just as expected- good but ordinary pancakes! Friendly staff. Has only few tables inside. Located conveniently in the flower market.

Good thing is they are offering non gluten pancakes an that is really nice. Bad thing is pancakes just don't justify the price, I find it very very expensive. Nothing was wrong with food and service, but it was just a normal pancake. Can't recommend.

The atmosphere is very good and also the food is great.

Although the service was friendly, the pancake was more like a crepe, and the poffertjes were not fresh and few in number. After paying 35 Euros we left hungry.

Absolute disappointment and tourist trap - the other good reviews are incomprehensible. The cafe is very cramped and not well maintained. The prices are a complete disgrace, you don't even get a whole waffle served. The extra charge for vegan pancakes is a rip-off - there are hardly any vegan toppings to choose from, even though they are advertised as such. The disappointing food was topped by the service, the waiter was dismissive and unfriendly to all the guests.

I tried the poffertjes with strawberry+nutella+cream, GLUTEN FREE (€2.5 supplement) and a coffee with milk for a total of €22. The food is very good.

Whoever gave these many stars here are biased. Honestly been to Netherlands 4 times now and there’s nothing much Dutch about this place. All I see is money trap for tourists.

There is some sort of review scam going on here - I browsed pancake shops to go to in Amsterdam and this one popped up with great reviews. Unfortunately the food is actually so bad I too two bites of the food and paid. Beware!

We have tried the typical sweet, the poffertjes, and they are incredible. The price is a little expensive compared to Spain, but good according to those in Amsterdam. Recommended for gluten intolerant people.

Restaurant that does not deserve its rating. It was ok, in more. A pancake that's not crazy but it works the affair. The price is still exaggerated especially with the atmosphere which is extremely cheap. The restaurant deserves more than 3 stars but I am giving it one star to rebalance the rating more quickly. I suspect a change following recovery or resale.

The Pancake Company offers a good location, just outside of the famous Dutch flower market – but that’s about it (despite the great reviews online). Unfortunately, the pancakes just aren’t great (despite the photos that suggest otherwise) and the service is below average. Prices are too high for the quality of the food. There are too many better pancake places to go here.

Despite the positive reviews and good looking photos we can't recommend this place. The coffee was mediocre and the waffle tasted stale and gummy (the banana was ok). The service was uninterested and inattentive (headphones). The worst part was the toilet-like smell inside.

We came because we saw a good rating on Google. The prices are high, the service is really not great. 0 smiles, 0 professionalism, the employees all have headphones. The restaurant is dirty. We found a hair in our food. A panel of dead flies in the corner of the window. In short, don't be fooled by what appears to be false reviews.

Small cafe right on the canal. The ambience seems simple and a bit loveless. There is a large selection of different pancakes, they are large and taste good. The prices are a bit overpriced for the simplicity. The staff is very short and shows little hospitality. Unfortunately, online impressions and reality do not match.

We had waffles with bacon, cheese and eggs - amazingly delicious!

After being informed that regular Dutch pancakes were unavailable for some reason, I opted for the small pancakes with strawberries, whipped cream, and fresh mint tea. However, I found the small pancakes to be overpriced for what you get and somewhat undercooked, deviating from the expected soft texture. The mint tea, while refreshing, was also priced excessively, the same exact fresh mint tea offered at other cafes in the vicinity for a whole euro cheaper. Additionally, an unpleasant odor permeated the restaurant. The sole positive aspect was the friendly demeanor of the server.

Cheese and ham pancake was delicious. A great lunch time bite.

We got a waffle and poffertjes with dark chocolate, both seemed microwaved, and both were terrible. They give you a steak knife to cut the waffle and burnt spots that were impossibly chewy and hard

Their waffles were very disapointing. Insted of two waffles with white chocolate we were served two halfes of one waffle coverd with sugar toping.

Very average, long wait for pancakes are really nothing special and a bit expensive for what they are. Topics are scarcely scattered on and not satisfactory for someone with a sweet tooth.

Absolutely terrible experience. I ordered the salty pancake with Bacon, egg with cheese. But the pancake was delivered without bacon. After I ask the waiter where is the bacon, he answered the bacon was in the pancake and then checked with the cook, which turned out to be the cook forgot to cook it. The bacon was supplemented, but over-backed and also too salty. Just before I finished my food, the waiter and cook went out to smoke. We guest can clearly smell the smoke in the restaurant, which was too annoyed. And all the guests are waiting for them to come back to check. When the waiter finally came back, he first cleaned the table of the two clients who entered and finished the last, but spoke the same language with the waiter. And then cleaned the table of other two clients, but never cleaned mine. I asked for check, but the waiter checked the last table first, and then the other table, never checked mine. Then he started to chatting with the guests who spoke the same language as him. I was totally ignored. This restaurant was totally not friendly to visitors, maybe only friendly to some people shared the same language as the waiter.

I tried both pancakes and waffles, and they were delicious. If the weather is nice, it's good to sit outside. It was already full so we went inside, but the atmosphere inside was quite nice.

This is a place where the small outside seating area is in the heart of the historic flower market! The location is fun, and the food is decent. The pancakes were good and had a variety of choices, but I would say I've had better, even recently at The Pancake Club and Cozy by Amanda. Good location, okay service, and nothing-wrong-with-it food. If you're walking by, it's worth a stop; but if you're planning ahead in the big, beautiful city, I would keep googling.

A great spot for brunch or lunch right on the canal near the Tulip markets. The food is good and the price is reasonable - particularly for the portion sizes. Friendly staff a d a nice atmosphere - outside seating is under cover and helped me avoid the rain. Worth your time.

The location at the flower market invites you to stop there first. However, we can advise against it, because the prices are really hefty and what's even worse is that 3 out of 4 people have had gastrointestinal problems after eating it. So for the price the quality isn't even right. I still wonder to this day whether it was really gluten-free after everything wanted to come out again. You don't really need it on vacation now.

Good but nothing special for higher price

We won't be coming back. Maybe we were the classic table “where the worm is in it” but there are some reviews here that report something similar. It started when after we ordered someone else came and asked which wine my partner wanted, which we had told our colleague two minutes ago, but something like that can still happen. Then the white wine came in a prosecco glass (which was a bit strange but ultimately it didn't matter if it tasted good, was clean, etc.), which made me a bit suspicious. But it didn't stop there: There were particles floating in the drink and they didn't look like leftovers from the wine bottle (which sometimes collect at the bottom). In addition, the glass was not clean. We just found that disgusting. But since neither of us are the kind of people who drop everything at every little thing and make a loud noise, we accepted it. The meat in my partner's burger wasn't cooked through, which ruined his evening/night a bit. My pancake, which I ordered with extra Nutella and strawberries, came mixed with strawberries and raspberries. I don't like raspberries on pancakes and it turns out he didn't have enough strawberries. I've also worked as a waiter on the side and something like that can happen - no question about it. Nevertheless, you should clarify this with the guest, I almost had the whole thing returned and then it would probably have ended up in the trash. After we agreed that we wouldn't pay for the raspberries, I took it and left them out (since some people here have already written that you should check the bill and be careful not to get ripped off). The tip of my knife broke off, I hope it ended up in the trash and not on someone's food... The table was also sticky. There don't seem to be any routines or fixed procedures and everything seems wishy-washy. Conclusion: Prices are far too high for what you get. Typical tourist trap? Apparently. In my opinion, you should eat your pancakes and burgers somewhere else.

We ordered pancakes (be careful because in the Netherlands they are more like crepes) and I found that the price was much too high for what we ate. The crepe itself is quite good, but the toppings are not homemade (dark chocolate for example), which is a shame.

Since it's a Dutch pancake, you should try it at least once. You can order toppings as you like, and the amount of Americano is really small.

Was looking for somewhere for breakfast for a vegan, a vegetarian and a meat eater, and found this place. Lots of choice for all. Food came quickly and pancakes are huge. Loved it so much we went back the next day.

Everything was very tasty, friendly service, only the prices could be slightly lower.

Order english breakfast with a cappuccino and organe juice. Disappointed with the quality of food, online reviews did not do any justification. Bacon was not crispy, sausage was industrial, bread was not very warm, potatoes felt frozen and then juice had so much ice (a glass full of it which I took out).

Absolutely disgusting I would never recommend going here. Go anywhere else. It cost $20 for an omelette and all it was was egg with cheese on it

Great place to grab brunch. Also if you have a nut allergy their menu is very clearly marked as to what does and doesn’t have nuts.

Tried their non sweet pancake with avocado and mushrooms but if you like the taste of non sweet pancakes then only go for it else you might not like the taste. Also my pancake was bit bitter as it was overcooked. The location is very cool. And they have washroom as well.

Just don't visit if you have celiac disease! Unfortunately very disappointing, I have celiac disease so was initially very pleased that they offered gluten free options. So I ordered gluten free pancakes. But then gluten-containing pancakes were brought to our table. Because they already looked suspicious, I even asked the waiter again if they were definitely the gluten-free pancakes. He replied in the affirmative and waved them off with a smile. He said he already knew what he was doing. I even felt a bit stupid for asking - later it turned out that they had swapped the tables and given me the ones containing gluten. I had already eaten it a long time ago. I can understand that it can be stressful at times in a restaurant, but something like that shouldn't happen under any circumstances, especially not when they advertise gluten-free options. People with celiac disease often experience illness for the entire day, if not days, as a result of these mistakes. Unfortunately the waiter wasn't really understanding, just annoyed. At this point he could have acted more professionally. Overall it wasn't a great experience, so I can't recommend this restaurant

Place is dirty and sticky. Service is not good and rude. Bathroom is bad bad. And food is at best mediocre and overpriced. Would not recommend and do not certainly understand the ratings…

My experience was: classic tourist trap. Extremely high prices (compared to other places with similar prices). offer), unfortunately everything was totally dirty: no clean tables, no clean chairs, totally dirty floor and even the waiter had a totally dirty t-shirt on. I don't want to eat here again. Unfortunately :(

Great Dutch pancakes, lots of options and great location!

Be careful when paying by card!! I put the Trinkheld in Cash on the silver plate. This was immediately taken care of by the waiter. Then the EC card machine was held out and asked to enter the PIN. No sooner said than done, I should enter the pin again. It turned out that the "first PIN" = tip via debit card.

We ordered the Dutch pancakes and I saw the guy literally take them from the freezer, open a plastic package and put them in the microwave. The fact that they were frozen wasn't disclosed to us when we were ordering but when they brought the food to us and I asked him if the pancakes are frozen he confirmed. Do not waste your money on a packaged pancakes...

Such adorable people. We ate gluten free poffertjes and it was so delicious. I want to come back here. We had a great experience and I recommand it.

Pancakes burnt in several places, and somewhat undercooked in others. Staff seems to be inattentive and goofing around in the kitchen, so it felt unsurprising. Obnoxiously loud music Spanish blaring. The only redeeming factor is being able to sit near the flower markets outdoors. I would get Dutch pancakes elsewhere.

Great place for Dutch pancakes in Amsterdam! Very tasty pancakes, waffles and poffertjes. One of the best meal my kids had during our Netherlands trip. Would definitely go back.

Gluten free pancakes and mini pancakes were perfect for our gluten free needs. Sat outside and overlooked the floating flower market. Fresh large strawberries on our pancakes and omelet the size a steering wheel- huge!!!

Very good waffles but small sizes (about half a waffle served), the service was not very friendly, the waiter barely said hello, no smiles...

Poffertjes tasted good, but I didn't like the serving: the piece of butter was cold and not melting, for some reason the forks were in the plate. 7.5€ is expensive for such a dish.

Awesome breakfast spot in the Flower Market. Got busy quick, so get there early. I had the bacon egg and cheese waffle, and while it may not look that pretty, it was absolutely delicious. The wife had the bacon and apple pancake, it was good as well… like a massive crepe.

No idea where all the great reviews are coming from! Ordered mushroom omlette- it was scrambled eggs fried into thin rubbery layer, no flavor and not served with bread as stated in menu. Tomato and cheese toastie was tiiiny and not served with ketchup as stated in menu. Mini pancakes were ok, but we ordered with chocolate and it was a cold watery chocolate syrup. So overpriced and just terrible food.

***Racist Server*** Food was terrorized with a strange sauce This place doesn't even deserve a single star. Even though the atmosphere of the store was dark and gloomy, the reviews were good so I trusted it and went there. When I asked for tap water, they gave me water in a dirty cup. I ordered strawberry Nutella pancakes and there was barbecue sauce hidden underneath. I don't know if it was a mistake or intention, but don't go there and go to a more famous pancake restaurant with a long line. I ordered strawberry&nutella pancake and it came with a weird bbq sauce, which I thought was strawberry jam at first. The server was gone, so I had to go to the kitchen myself to ask about it. They didn’t even explain or apologize. I still don’t get if it was intentional or not, but def do not recommend!!!!!!!

Best Dutch pancake I have ever eaten in my life. The service was very friendly and we did not wait very long for our food. Worth every penny.

We are a family from Switzerland and were deceived by the good ratings given to this restaurant. In our opinion he must have changed managers. The pancakes are poorly cooked with a bland and a little sweet batter. The varieties offered consist of placing a few vague pieces of something loose and raw on the dough (onions, avocados, blueberries or other...). The dishes are dirty, the staff is not welcoming... In short, a scam, go elsewhere!

After one bite, I couldn't continue; the server didn't inquire about the food and saw my untouched plate when we requested the bill. I strongly advise avoiding this place! Dont waste your time, and go to Wok to go, you wont be disappointed.

Beautiful little restaurant which catered to our every need. Gluten free pancakes were the best we have ever had. The white chocolate and strawberry pancake was the gluten free, the chocolate and banana had gluten.

Not a very good place at all. Breakfast came out cold and flavorless. Coffee was terrible. I’d go somewhere else
