Truly worthless What an incredibly bad experience with Papa John’s. Ordered at 12:19 with an indicated delivery time of only 28 minutes. Subsequently, you sit waiting for your food for well over an hour and no one is reachable when you try to call. No decent communication, no clarity, and apparently absolutely no respect for the customer. If you have to wait nearly an hour and a half for an order that was supposed to arrive within 28 minutes, there is really something seriously wrong with the service. For me, at least, no more Papa John’s. Very disappointing and absolutely not recommended.

The photo speaks for itself. The pizza was covered in oil. I called the employee who was very unprofessional and not customer-friendly! Never ordering from here again!

The food was worthless. Terrible, the oil scum was scraping off it. Staff fighting amongst themselves. I called and got a cheeky little boy on the line. Never ever again.

Very disappointing experience. The pizzas were delivered much too late, and when they finally arrived, it turned out the dough wasn't even properly baked. The base was simply raw dough, making the pizzas inedible.

Pizzas were good. But… Ordered at 17:10, finally called at 18:20. Irritation 1: The gentleman doesn't speak Dutch. Even in English, the conversation was difficult. “Scooter broken, delivery driver sick.” So your problem becomes my problem? “Delivery driver is on the way!” Indeed, the delivery driver arrives at 18:30. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes instead of the promised 30 minutes. Irritation 2: The order is incomplete. One Pepperoni Roll is missing. The delivery driver clearly feels guilty. “I’m alone, etc.” Promises to come back later. That’s okay with me. Redelivery 45 minutes later. By a different delivery driver, by the way. So not alone anymore by now? Irritation 3: Where are my promised Coca-Cola socks? Irritation 4: Downloaded the app, impossible to create an account. Once again, the pizzas and rolls were good. Nothing special, just good. And warm enough. But because of the rest of the “experience,” the chance that I will order from Papa Johns Westzijde again is very small. Too much frustration after spending over 70 euros.

Food not delivered, no call, won't answer the phone. Do not order from here. Looking at the rest of the comments it's the same story.

Worst outlet of papa john's ever. They always receive the order from website and uber and they never deliver. They will call you and will you, we are out of meat, cheese or bread. How the pizza outlet is out of cheese ? And they never make the pizza like other papa john's outlets. I'm eating papa johns from 5 years and I only order chicken ranch pizza and they never make good pizza like I had in my past.

Foreign woman speaks not a word of Dutch, only busy with her phone. Waited 20 minutes for 1 small side dish, totally not customer-oriented or polite.

I think it's great and acceptable given the quality.

This place has gone down hill since first opening. Deliveries are slow. Says 30 but comes 1+ hour later. Phone number never seems to be picked up. Orders can be wrong missing sauces etc and it’s just a pain in the… to correct. Originally gave it 5 stars for what I think is better than its other American competitors but the franchisee at this location either hired poor staff or doesn’t know how to run a business or both…

The food is very good, the staff is amazing, and the delivery is very fast.

Unfortunately, very bad. Almost an hour later than predicted, and after calling, someone speaking poor Dutch/English just insisted on coming to bring it themselves. You expect better for this kind of amount.

Placed an order but only received it after 1.5 hours, only to find out that I got a completely wrong pizza. Papa John hasn't been the same since the reopening. They have gone downhill significantly!

This is supposedly the Papadias Philly Cheese Beef. According to the description, it should be generously topped with pieces of spicy beef, onion, crispy green bell pepper, and ranch sauce. What I received is literally a cold piece of dough, a tiny bit of cheese, and certainly not generously topped pieces of spicy beef. They didn't even put onion or crispy green bell pepper on it, and the ranch sauce is nowhere to be seen. They are unreachable by phone. Worthless!!!

If you don't have enough pizza couriers Then you shouldn't do deliveries, it's that simple. I wait 2 hours for 1 pizza.

Too bad for words!! The order arrived way too late, called 6 times but no one answered. Thuisbezorgd said they were closed. We placed an order elsewhere and suddenly they were at the door anyway, with the wrong order. So we just went to the shop; the woman standing there couldn't even speak Dutch, was very cheeky, wouldn't let us finish speaking, and didn't offer an apology. Supposedly a refund wasn't possible, then we got the correct order, and once home the dough is still RAW and we have to put it back in the oven ourselves. What a terrible business!!

I called 3 times and had to wait 2 hours for 1 order, and they said it takes 18 minutes.

Ordered a pizza online and after a hour haven't received the pizza, needed to call them to know what's was happening it's seems they didn't have the order so had to wait for more 30 min. Not ordering no more pizza from them.

I ordered here really about 2 years ago, and had a bad experience. Bad pizza and I waited 2 hours for my food. Tonight I was hungry, and thought: Let's give it another try! Unfortunately, I ordered at 10:00 PM, and as I type this, it is 11:45 PM. They aren't answering; my husband drove over and called the shop from the spot. The phone rings, but they just don't pick it up. There is a woman in the kitchen who barely speaks a word of Dutch and therefore doesn't understand why my husband is standing there. Where our food is, no idea🥹.

I have been ordering here for a long time and always liked the food, but since the reopening, it has basically been nothing but a hassle with orders and deliveries. Ingredients you pay extra for are regularly forgotten, orders are incomplete, and communication is really bad. Today was the last straw for me. I had ordered at 1:00 PM and received a call after about 15 minutes with a vague and unintelligible story that it would take longer. Subsequently, I waited an hour and a half without any update. After that, I tried to call at least 10 times, but I was hung up on every time. After 1 hour and 45 minutes, I went to the restaurant myself to demand an explanation. There, I was given another strange story about an accident and that no one was present. My order was still not ready. I then indicated that I wanted my money back because they clearly could not deliver. They said they would note down my details so the manager could contact me regarding the refund. To my surprise, they showed up at the door with the order after 2.5 hours, even though I had already indicated that I no longer wanted it and just wanted my money back. It was handled incredibly unprofessionally from start to finish. It is a real shame, because the food was always good, but due to the poor service, communication, and constant mistakes, I will never order from here again.

Worst pizzas ever! Spent €40 for 2 large pizzas and got the most disgusting ones they could have ever made. The dough was raw, soggy and tearing apart, I could not keep one slice together. One double pepperoni pizza was showered in fat because they decided to put way too much pepperoni which also caused the dough to stick to the cardboard box. The second pizza had an overkill of ingredients and the cheese on top (instead of underneath), which made the pizza wet and so heavy that you could not even grab it without breaking it, oh and the ingredients were all raw. They said "we will call you with a solution" but never did! Very disappointing experience. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BAD QUALITY.

Terrible!!! Do not order here at the Zaandam branch. We received not 1 but 2 wrong pizzas. Called, but of course they don't speak Dutch. The correct pizzas were supposed to arrive within 17 minutes. I just got a call asking if they had to bring 1 pizza again "with or without pineapple" -_- I am very curious if and what is coming. Please do not order here! This cannot call itself Papa John's.

Normally I always like Papa John’s pizza, but this Papa John’s was truly inedible. Almost no tuna on the pizza, absolutely no flavor, and the dough was just gross. In the end, I even threw the pizza away. A real waste, but I won’t be ordering from here again.

I felt a little guilty ordering right before closing, but the pizza arrived super fast! I had a meat lover's pizza with garlic-Parmesan sauce, and it was delicious. The pizza was perfectly warm with a thick crust, and the sauce is so good! The store is also open late, so I can happily order something after work. Absolutely fantastic!

Please come back 🥺 Define "temporarily closed" Update, it used to be a 5-star review: Since reopening, they've completely lost it. The sauce containers are 50% smaller (and were forgotten with my order, just like the pepperoncini). The cheese sticks aren't what they used to be either; they're now a doughy mess with a vague resemblance of cheese. There's now a kiosk for ordering, right next to the cash register, which you can no longer order from for some obscure reason. They also no longer have a physical menu. Everything is now custom-made, and you have to specify exactly what you want and then pray they actually remember it. In short, it's a real shame; it was 10x better than it used to be. I understand that this is to be expected with these kinds of franchises, but I'm still disappointed.

Not even 1 star worth. My order should’ve been here 2 hours ago. Their phone is off. And I can’t seem to cancel my order. Called them 5/6 times, messaged them on their WhatsApp. Nada. By now I just want a refund.

Order a BBQ pizza without onion, what do I get on it, onion and tomato while there is no tomato on that pizza at all and the pizzas were really late

The pizza took a long time to be delivered. €33.60 for two pizzas with a discount on the second. The pizzas weren't tasty, but they were still warm. I won't be returning; next time I'll go to Domino's. Domino's has much better, tastier pizzas and faster delivery times.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! I ordered a veggie pizza and received a meat pizza after an hour and 30 minute wait. Phoned up shop to be greeted with a rude individual who called me a liar saying I haven’t been waiting for 2 hours. After this rude interaction I was promised a new pizza would arrive correct and promptly. And wow was I wrong never came and still nearly a week later after numerous phone calls and a visit to the shop I’m no further into having help or even a well deserved refund. Never again will I order from here and I suggest u do the same. And the staff here need to learn some good polite customer service.

This Papa John's has been a nightmare since it reopened. I had to wait an incredibly long time for my (small) order, called three times in total, and each time they said the delivery driver would arrive in five minutes. When the driver finally showed up, they'd even forgotten one of the two items, and I was told they were late because they couldn't find the address. So, instead of calling me, it's a better idea to lie to me for over an hour and drive around aimlessly? It's quite unusual. I used to order from here often, but not anymore.

Worst place ever!! The previous Papa John's in Zaandam was much better. Order placed at 4:00 PM Requested delivery time at 5:30 PM Called at 5:40 PM, they said I was the next delivery. Called again at 6:10 PM, they said it should be here in 1 or 2 minutes. It's now 6:51 PM and I still haven't received anything! Meanwhile, I called again, and they answered and immediately hung up. This company is terrible. Never ordering from here again.

I ordered and only waited about 20 minutes! It was our first time ordering here, and I felt guilty because we ordered just before closing time! But we got a really good deal: one 30cm pizza and a drink for only 14 euros! I don't think it was worth the money, especially for what you get. Delicious pizza, even the crust is super tasty! We had pepperoni, and it came with delicious garlic sauce. And to top it all off, the delivery driver even showed up with two pizzas for us! I definitely recommend going here, or ordering from here! I'm very satisfied with Papa John's and will definitely come back! 10/10🫶🏼

Oplichters zijn het!!!!!! Een bestelling gedaan van rond de 100 euro via Thuisbezorgd. Wachten wachten niets maar wel op Thuisbezorgd neerzetten dat de bestelling geleverd is. Na veel bellen en zelfs een bezoek aan het filiaal niemand aanwezig. Dag erna weer gebeld geen gehoor. Zelfs vandaag 14 augustus weer gebeld weer geen gehoor maar ook nog steeds mijn 100 euro niet terug. Pas op voordat je hier besteld !!!!!!

Curious about what pizza might be like outside of Italy, I decided to try this chain. Not thinking about what pizza is like in Italy, I ordered one from their menu and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza wasn't heavy, but rather very light and full of flavor. The ingredients were very distinct and easily recognizable. The drink selection was also excellent, though the dessert selection was a bit less so. Overall, it was a good experience.

Ordered 2 pizzas and they arrived nice and warm within 30 minutes. Nice thin pizza and crust nice dough. Got an extra pepper and garlic sauce with the pizza to dip the crust in....yummy

Saw it on tiktok. Very nice food. Will definitely go back

I ordered here and it didn't go well so I called them. I ordered with jalapenos and I received a pizza without jalapenos. I pointed this out and in response I received a loud sigh, even though it is their fault. If they apologized it wouldn't even matter, but that didn't happen. Then I said that I didn't think it was normal how he talked to a customer, but the gentleman thought it was very normal. Also the pizza was cold which doesn't exactly make the situation better.

First time ordering here. Everything arrived warm. Half hour delivery time. We personally don't like the pizza sauce, very strong. The ranch dip we got with the pepperoni rolls was tasty. Wedges unfortunately weak.

The prices listed on the menu and the prices we paid were different. When we noticed that we were charged a different price at the register, they told us that the prices on the menus were outdated. I've never seen anything this ridiculous. If your menu is not up-to-date, why is it still on the tables?

the pizzas were once really delicious to eat, but unfortunately it is no longer available for me, just an explanation: I ordered a pizza tonight via home delivery with a delivery time of around 6:45 p.m., I specifically stated in capital letters that the pepper that comes with it as standard should be omitted, because I am severely allergic to hot peppers, this has happened the last 2 times. In a year's time, after eating those pizzas, I had to rush to the ER because the pepper had touched the bottom and I had to get an anti-histamine injection because my throat was completely swollen and I could no longer breathe. This was also mentioned in the comments, I was now pissed off and called them, I was only told that they couldn't do anything and that the pepper is included as standard and they couldn't understand me, not surprising if they like to risk a human life for the umpteenth time in a short period of time, so if you are allergic to something, there is apparently no adjustment possible at this restaurant.

I got a call and delivered 6 pizzas but I didn't order anything. The delivery person indicates that it has already been paid and leaves, after 10 minutes we start eating and the doorbell rings that payment has to be made because we ordered by telephone. We didn't order anything. We did have to pay for the 2 pizzas that we were currently eating. Worthless company!

Might as well have ordered three margaritas, so poorly topped. Bad soil too, never again for us.

No manners. These people want to make money in these difficult times by not delivering and lying about not delivering. We also work hard just like you do in your business. Just act normal and talk politely to your customers. Who pays decides. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Now that's what i call a real pizza 👌🏻. The most similar to my native country Croatia, and the pizza is true Italian style. Ordered via Thuisbezorgd app. Possible to choose the ingredients, even the base dough (more types)! This is incredible. Hats down, the best pizza's so far 👍🏻.

Probably one of the greatest pizzas I've ever eaten, the restaurant also had great service and had my pizza ready right when I went to pick it up. Highly recommend!

Pizza was tasty, so was the dip. Until I saw something with the last bit of sauce... Mold!!!! As in the photo

Pre-ordered. Ordered via website and not delivered. After the 1st call it was indicated that it was on its way, called again half an hour later. If it is said that there is no order, I am redirected to email the head office. Not customer friendly and poor service. In the end no food and I had to chase it myself to get my refund...

Scammers. Money paid is not delivered. Roughly sent to head office, which doesn't answer. If something goes wrong with your order, keep in mind that these people will not refund you and are not prepared to work on a solution.

Papa John's being near my house is one of the best things that happened to me being in this country honestly.

Door een fout bij thuisbezorgd, heb ik een pizza met bacon erop gekregen. Vervolgens contact opgenomen met het filiaal van Papa John's zelf. Zij hadden een nieuwe pizza bereid en afgeleverd. Ditmaal zonder bacon. Top service!

Wij bestellen altijd de actie: 2 medium pizza's bestellen, 1 betalen. Voor 14,99 incl. bezorgen, zitten we echt vol. Altijd All the Meat pizza's. Die zijn zo heerlijk van smaak. Ik bestel van te voren online, voor bezorging op een bepaald tijdstip later op de dag. En dan wordt er ook daadwerkelijk bezorgd. Bij veel andere thuisbezorgd restaurants maken we het vaak mee dat je zo maar 1/2 uur tot 1 uur zit te wachten. Dit is echt top. En het komt stomend uit de tas van de bezorger. Dat is op zich altijd wel een fooitje waard. Als ik dan toch ergens over moet "klagen", is dat de pizza punten in verschillende maten worden gesneden, van klein tot veel te groot en ook niet goed door worden gesneden. Het zou fijn zijn als dat wat beter kan. Maar voor al het overige, zijn wij heel erg tevreden en zijn wij ook een regelmatig terugkerende klant.

Heerlijke Pizza, Sides en Desserts. Jammer dat de pizza 'Spicy Chicken Ranch' niet te vinden is op de website bij Papa John's in Zaandam. Telefonisch en bij afhalen is dit wel te bestellen maar hiermee komen mijn Rewards via de website niet in mijn account erbij. Klantvriendelijk en heerlijk vers eten.

Voor een keten best oké. En de spicy variant is ook echt spicy, zoals het hoort.

Update: later een nette oplossing gekregen van Papa John's. Snelle bezorging, niks mis mee. Ik bestelde een 6cheese.maar kreeg een pizza tomaatkaas. De medewerker die ik een foto stuurde, hield vol dat ik een 6cheese.had gekregen. Jammer. Amper kaassmaak...ik hoef de andere pizza's niet meer te proberen. Volgende keer zeker weer een andere pizzatent in Zaandam.

Eerste keer pizza besteld bij Papa John's. Pizza was op tijd bezorgd en was nog warm. Ik had een dunnere bodem verwacht. Volgende keer ga ik voor de authentieke variant. Kreeg een pepertje en knoflooksaus bij. 👍

We ordered Vegan Cheese Garden Party pizza with authentic base. The taste was really good and the quality too. Highly recommended.

Lekkerste pizza's uit de buurt (veel beter dan de andere 2 grote pizzaketens!) Als toetje zijn de cinnaknots superlekker. Ik heb hier al zo vaak besteld en het is altijd top. Bezorging naar Oostzaan is ook altijd snel. Als je op hun eigen site bestelt spaar je punten die je in kan leveren voor gratis desserts of pizza's.

Heerlijke pizza, en echt de beste side dishes/desserts uit de buurt. Snelle levering, altijd warm. We bestellen er vaak en je krijgt grote porties voor wat je betaald. Veel beter dan bijvoorbeeld NYP of Domino’s.

Lekkere pizza's, helaas te vaak te laat. Zelfs als we uren van te voren bestellen, krijgen we als excuus dat het erg druk is.

Although they already almost closed the door, but they baked pizza for this late comer. They showed the flexibility for the customer, and I, as tourist, was deeply moved. I could bring super papas for my family!
