Pasta e Basta in Grachtengordel-Zuid

For the third time at Pasta e Basta. We thought it was fantastic the first 2 times. Good food, chat while listening to beautiful music. I'm less enthusiastic now. The food and the singing are still good, but there are a lot of people inside. It was sooooo noisy that a normal conversation with your table companions was not possible. The people did not listen to the servants who showed their beautiful singing skills. I even had to put in earplugs because of the way too loud crowd. Pasta e Basta obviously can't do anything about that, but it is something to take into account if you go here. Or we were just unlucky, that's also possible! Unfortunately, no fourth time for me. *later I understood that there were different groups, including a bachelor party/anniversary/birthday. That must be the reason the acoustics were bad.

Phenomenal!!! The structure of the food and music is perfect. The staff are true artists. One moment they really take the time to have a chat, explain the food expertly and a few minutes later they sing the notes high or low with a tight and full feeling. It was fantastic, an experience that you have to experience and cannot be captured on photo or video, you have to see it, taste it and above all feel it

Super nice place. We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary. And they sang us a song. And the food was super tasty. All staff could sing beautifully and also provided top service. We will definitely come back

An Italian restaurant where the waiters sing, it is very expensive but to try it once it is not bad, the reality is that you are paying for the show, more than for the food, it was not bad but it is not worth what you pay for that menu and also you cannot choose, it is a tasting menu type and there were things that we did not like, although they change it every weekend I think. That's it, the food is very visual and well presented with attention to detail. We didn't leave very full either, but the truth is that the show around, the atmosphere and the live music are worth it, it was my birthday gift and I enjoyed it a lot even though I didn't I would return a second time

The most special experience you will have during an evening out for dinner when the staff serving you also sings to you. The food, the service and the entire experience itself is worth 5 stars. The only downside I think is that the staff is very pushy and very quickly comes back to your table before you have finished your drink to ask if you want to order a new one. Apart from that, it is highly recommended and I would definitely go here again!

Pasta e Basta – expensive and disappointing We visited Pasta e Basta with four people and chose the 5-course menu, preceded by a snack platter. Unfortunately, the evening started off poorly: the cheese platter was bland and had little taste. The prosecco on the menu costs a whopping €9 per glass – a hefty price for an aperitif of average quality. The dinner itself was also not convincing. As an intermediate course we were served gnocchi that would not be out of place in a touristy eatery with menus full of photos. Both the quality and the portions were mediocre, especially considering the high expectations and price. The total cost came to around €120 per person, including wine and drinks – an amount that is absolutely not in proportion to what you get. In addition, the acoustics in the restaurant are downright bad. A normal conversation with someone on the other side of the table is almost impossible; you mainly hear a buzz and have to almost shout to hear each other. Very restless and tiring. The only real bright spot was the staff. The service was friendly, attentive and enthusiastic – they managed to save the evening somewhat. Conclusion: a much too expensive evening for a mediocre dining experience. Nice atmosphere and good staff, but the food and the price-quality ratio are seriously disappointing. Not recommended.

Amazing Evening Food Service and Entertainment Were Outstanding.....

Had a great evening with my daughters. Lovely people who serve you with a smile. Who sing from their hearts. In short, great. Delicious food. Then Trijntje Oosterhuis... What a power woman. What a voice. And what a nice way she adds to the atmosphere. My 4 daughters loved it. The highlight of the evening for them was the song: Open ending. We had to shed a tear. And then... reverberate along again. Thank you Trijntje and staff for this evening!

Enjoyed all the beautiful singers and the food. Went with a team of colleagues aged 18 up to 64 years. Suitable for everyone. The only downside, sometimes there is a lot of emphasis on ordering extras in addition to the menu. But no was accepted.

It was great. The service was so great and the waiters were really kind. Especially I think her name was Pamela she was so sweet and had such a great voice. The entertainment was amazing. Everyone sang so well! I was there for my aunts birthday and even as a younger person I had so much fun! I would definitely recommend it!

5 stars is actually too little! Had dinner here on Saturday evening and enjoyed it. We had seats at the bar, which is nothing wrong with that. Everything can be seen and heard clearly. The evening is built up beautifully, starts with quiet music, and little by little the pace increases. Super singers, fantastic from start to finish! However, talking to each other is difficult because of the noise, so would you like to have a nice evening of catching up? Then don't choose this. It was great night, good food, amazing singers!

It was a really great evening with delicious food. We come from far away and the website states that it takes until 1:00 am, so we booked a hotel. It was a really big party around 10:15 PM, everyone dancing and singing together. That stops abruptly and then around 11 p.m. they start cleaning everything up so that it can close. Then I was disappointed that I had booked a very expensive hotel room because we could have gone home by train. What's especially unfortunate is that you have a really nice atmosphere and then it suddenly stops!?

The food is not really Italian, the quality is substandard. There is little or no going around for drinks. Sometimes it takes more than 30 minutes to get a drink or they just forget the order all together. The waitresses are mainly busy singing songs, table following is secondary. Understanding each other while eating is difficult because the music is as loud as in a disco. Glorified karaoke bar for the waitresses, not really a restaurant.

Review for Pasta e Basta I recently attended a Pasta & Friends evening at Pasta e Basta and thought it was a nice experience. The atmosphere was cozy and the concept where the service sang live made the evening out very special. The performers were without a doubt the highlight of the evening, and the entertainment added a unique touch to the dinner. However, I was less enthusiastic about the value for money of the food. Although the flavors were good, I found the portions very small. As someone who is not normally a big eater, I found it surprising that I was still hungry after the meal. For €80 you not only expect a beautiful evening, but also a full stomach. It seems that a large part of the amount goes to the artists rather than to the dishes themselves. In short: a fun evening for those who enjoy entertainment while eating, but not recommended if you are looking for a dinner that will leave you satiated.

Food acceptable but not special. Service was great. Friendly waitresses and not too slow. Enjoyed the entertaining part. It's the place where you can nicely just enjoy the atmosphere and eat, not too much talking. Really like the choice of songs. Good for small group.

Bartender Stefan is a Super Host plus great at voice! We really enjoyed our evening, the singing was beautiful and the atmosphere was great! Appetizer; Sharing is Caring was very good! Main course was a bit disappointing. Lukewarm, overcooked pasta with some frilly meat... Dessert also very good! All in all: recommended!

The starter was good, choice of various small snacks. The main course was a plate of pasta with some kind of pulled pork, very fatty and simple. I think the dessert was a bavarois but still frozen or ice cream but melted... I didn't think the waiters' singing of a kind of love songs really suited the evening. We thought it would be a party. After dinner Dries came, which was very pleasant but short...I expected more from the evening. But perhaps personal preference.

After going there for the first time in 2015, I couldn't visit after that due to lack of opportunity, but I finally got to visit again after 10 years. Even on Wednesday evenings, all tables were full, so reservations are essential even on weekday evenings. The course is divided into 4 and 5 courses. It's been a while and I live far away in Korea, so I didn't know how long it would take for me to visit again, so I ordered the 5 course. In fact, my memories of this place were more about the performance than the food. The singing performance of the serving staff that I saw 10 years ago was an unforgettable and wonderful memory, and that was why I came back, so I was full of expectations. The performances of the serving staff seemed to have more momentum and excitement as each course was served, and the atmosphere became more heated toward the end, making it a truly enjoyable evening. Of course, the food was really delicious too. The texture of the pasta and the grilling of the fish dish were truly amazing. This is a place I want to visit whenever I travel to Amsterdam. This is a truly romantic restaurant.

I hate to be disrespectful but all of the dishes starting from the salads including dessert were very very unpalatable. If you are coming for good food I would say a definite no no. However the atmosfeer, service, and ofcourse the song performances are amazing. Thus: + if you’re coming for music and a nice atmosphere - if you’re looking to have some decent food Sorry if my comment can be offensive but I rarely have these such of negative food experiences.

I can't believe there are people who gave this place less than 5 stars - you guys should really have some fun! Starting with the singers, who are absolutely amazing and fun, and respect for doing so many things at once, be nice, kind and enjoy as much as the guests. The vibe is perfect, singing is tailored to the menu steps so that you can enjoy your meal, but also be able to enjoy the singers. The food was great! Me and my partner are vegan, and we've had a special menu to choose from. Even the Northerners were moved :D Can't wait to come back!

The vibes are very nice, I think they put most of their budget on the talented waiters who signs perfectly and engage with the audience in very nice way However, the food was very basic nothing special, even the truffle special was very basic, we didn’t enjoy the food much we expected much more for the price we paid I believe they should invest in a good chef to match the waiters, but we enjoyed the atmosphere very much

An average dining experience combined with a great music experience. There are 4 and 5 course menu options. We took the 4 course. However, I wish those talented waiters with beautiful voices had not insisted on extra food/drinks, we tried a drink and our taste changed in a negative way (Sgroppino). The price of 4 course menu is 65€. It was worth it not for the food but with the music.

We had a fabulous time! Food was delicious and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Wine was delicious - recommend that you order the bottle instead of by the glass because the wine was fantastic.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who had omitted to mention that it's a musical restaurant so we were duly surprised when the waiter and waitresses started singing. But - what a show! They threw themselves into it. Songs ranged from the well known to the (to me) obscure. Show tunes to jazz to pop. A great night out, it's not cheap but you do get your money's worth. I'd recommend it.

Dit is tegenwoordig in de horeca helaas een zeldzaamheid. Bij Pasta e Basta worden de klanten nog echt gewaardeerd en in de watten gelegd. Alles klopt, het is een geoliede machine! Zo’n bediening wens je iedere horeca zaak, wat een verademing. En zingen kunnen de dames en heer ook nog eens meer dan uitstekend. Wij zijn gegaan voor het 5 gangen menu, ook al zo goed. Het moge duidelijk zijn dat wij Pasta e Basta cq. dit concept absoluut aanbevelen.

it was just FABULOUS! Yesterday we visited the restaurant for a birthday dinner with 4 people and it was just great. The food was excellent, extremely fair praised, such high quality courses as well as the singing of the waiters were outstanding. All in all an extraordinary experience. Super bad service! No help with questions or allergies

We had a great evening celebrating my mate’s 60th birthday party.

Na een aantal jaren geleden hier een topavond te hebben gehad dacht ik dat het leuk was om mijn partner te verrassen voor zijn 60ste verjaardag. Na een hartelijk welkom wilde wij mouserende wijn bestellen. Echter : de kaart was onduidelijk dus toen wij opheldering vroegen aan onze tafeldame Melissa riep zij de bedrijfsleidster erbij. Zij gaf geen antwoord op onze vraag. We hebben letterlijk gehoord dat het op de fles stond en daar moesten wij het meedoen. Daarna stormde zij weg. De rest van de avond viel het ons op dat de service aan ons in vergelijking met die aan ons omringende tafels aanzienlijk minder was. Gevraagd bestek kwam bij ons niet, moesten wij zelf gaan halen, cappuccino was aan de koude kant, drie keer vragen om de rekening en een algeheel gevoel van gestraft worden door wat er aan het begin van de avond heeft plaats gevonden. Onze tafeldame Melissa was de enige die vriendelijk bleef. Het eten was uitstekend. Jammer dat de totaalbeleving tekort schoot.

It is difficult to find a table without a reservation. Maybe you can sit at the bar. You can only get the set menu. You start with the starter and finish with the dessert. That is if the waiters put on a show and sing wonderfully. If you want to spend 2 hours of fun listening to singing, that is fine. If you expect to eat delicious food, do not go, and they also take a long time to serve you. There are 2 closed menus of 4 or 5 dishes, 65 or 80 euros. I honestly would not go back.
