We went there for a special occassion, it was a great place for food and music

I have been coming here for over 20 years, and it is still a surprise that gives me goosebumps every time. Yes, it has all become a bit touristy. But what isn't in Amsterdam? This restaurant simply has a good entertainment formula and good food. I hope to be able to keep coming to eat here for years to come. Because it is worth every euro.

The food was okay, but the staff were amazing. Honestly, I wish the food lived up to the quality, attitude, and performance of the team. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better. This is one of the rare times where a restaurant makes you feel that the tip is absolutely well deserved, and honestly, they deserve even more

Had an incredibly delicious meal this evening! Dishes you wouldn't normally choose, but which really come into their own and are just such a taste explosion! Our waitress/hostess was amazing, and so sweet! They were all friendly and really up for a chat. The atmosphere was great! Ate here for the first time 7.5 years ago and now finally again... certainly not disappointed!

It was interesting. Food was fine and interesting but not exceptional. We go to Feinsteins in NYC and we were expecting something like that but it wasn’t nearly as good. That is a really high bar though.

Wow!! I couldn't have imagined a better time. The food -- from the appetizers to the dessert -- were outstanding. The service was so attentive. The singing, by the waitresses/waiters as well as the special guest, was fantastic -- so professional, and beautifully sung. One of the waiters who looked after us made us feel like we were at nona's house, even bringing us more of the delicious carpaccio and tuna appetizer. We couldn't be more pleased, and we're *certain* to be back on a future visit to Amsterdam.

This was so much fun! A great place to bring visitors or to celebrate a special occasion. Not only were the singers fantastic - but also the food was excellent. A highlight was the beef filled pasta with brown butter and hazelnuts.

A wonderful atmosphere and very delicious food. Even though the bill felt a bit expensive, it was absolutely worth it. The waiters have incredibly beautiful voices and performed the songs very professionally. It was such a joy to see the whole restaurant having fun together and enjoying the moment.

This was truly amazing; from the welcome to the service, the food and singing were of an extremely high standard. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail; there was live singing until late in the evening, in a very intimate setting and close to the guests. Great atmosphere, delicious food, good musicians. The experience overall was top-notch. There are two different fixed menus. The only difference is that one includes an extra dish with redfish. The portion size was sufficient; it wouldn't have mattered without the redfish.

Last Sunday, we happened to walk past Pasta e Basta in Amsterdam, just looking for a "normal" restaurant. What a surprise! This was anything but ordinary. Luckily, there was still a table available, probably due to a last-minute cancellation due to the snow – and we're so glad we did. We had a fantastic evening. The food was amazing: perfectly prepared and presented with care. But what truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. The singing service creates a unique experience. It's not just a dinner, but a truly night out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something special in Amsterdam!

An absolutely incredible experience! The singers (who are also waitresses) have AMAZING voices! They cover all styles, even opera without a microphone… On top of that, they are approachable, smiling, and pleasant—seriously, go without hesitation! The food is simply excellent; you eat extremely well, and you can tell everything is homemade! Thank you again for this incredible evening.

The food was delicious, and allergy sensitivities were perfectly catered to. The music and singing were beautiful. A bit loud towards the end. The only downsides were the cloakroom was too small and there was no emergency exit!

It was truly an experience; you have to experience it once! We were warmly welcomed and immediately helped by our server, Eva. Everything was perfectly explained. We opted for the 5-course dinner. The food was delicious. But the real experience was the music. It started off nice and quiet and ended like a party. At times, it reminded me of OGENE, but all the ladies still sang like stars in their own unique way. And next time, the host/bartender will also sing a song, ha-ha. We'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, the staff is helpful and super cheerful. The singing is beautiful, and it's a fun concept. The food, however, was very disappointing. The starters were unimaginative, the ravioli was extremely salty, the fish was tasteless, and the dessert was a joke. Almost all of us left dessert after one bite. It was really nice to go there once for the atmosphere, but don't expect anything from the food.

Everything was great, but when you book online, if the tables are full, they automatically seat you at the bar. It might be a good idea to check before confirming your reservation. We sat at the bar, which was fine for us because it was more interactive. A romantic, elegant setting. The appetizers were okay, and the main course was fantastic.

If your priority is music and a nice atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and of course very talented. They have beautiful voices and their song choices are great. Unfortunately, when it comes to the food, it was a huge letdown. There wasn’t a single dish I can say I truly enjoyed. Every plate seemed overly complicated, and this made the dishes feel chaotic. When a dish has at least 7–8 components, you expect an explosion of flavor, but instead it was just a complete confusion for the palate. I chose the vegetarian main, and the pumpkin was so overpowering that it took me ten minutes to even realize I was eating gnocchi. I never thought the dessert would be the most disappointing part of an Italian restaurant, but I wouldn’t even call what we ate a dessert. Ice cream and cream topped with an almost tooth-breaking “crispy pasta”? This is not a dessert. It was really sad to be in such a fun and lively setting but not enjoy the food at all.

If you want the full experience of having your *wallet stolen from their cloakroom•, and then being treated with complete indifference by the staff, this is the perfect place for you. > Instead of taking any responsibility for the theft that happened on their property, their only concern was that we pay our outrageously expensive bill. They showed zero empathy while we were dealing with the theft, and we were left searching for an open police station in Amsterdam as a family at that time of night. > We had to end our night at the police station. This was, without a doubt, the absolute worst night our family has ever experienced abroad. We will never forget how we were victimized twice—first by the thief, and then by this establishment's shocking lack of accountability. 😱😱😱😱

We went as a group and had a great time. Theatre, opera, and music students are serving. As you're eating, the music suddenly starts, and the servers start singing. It's an incredibly beautiful atmosphere. You should definitely experience it.

A great fun evening...went 20 years ago and not enough singing. Last night on my revisit there was a too much and some.of it at the end didnt get the audience of diners enthused.

The place is very nice. The singers are the singers and their voices are amazing. The problem is, their food isn't that great. We didn't like any dish, except maybe one. To be honest, they were cooperative in changing the dishes and bringing us some of the available options so we could eat it. It's a bit pricey. For four people, we paid about 1,000 riyals. You must book online in advance.

We ate here last Thursday and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderfully cozy. Fenne's service made the evening complete—what a lovely, sweet girl! She made sure we had everything we needed and knew exactly how to make guests feel welcome. And when she started singing... wow! What a voice! I would definitely come back just for her. Highly recommended!

My partner had a four-course meal and I had a five-course dinner. Some dishes were unfortunately mediocre in taste, but overall, we found it "okay," which is a shame. The service was very helpful and explained things well, though it was a shame that we had to contact them several times to order drinks. It was also a shame that the table next to us arrived later than us (even though there were only two of us) and still received their orders before us, even though we hadn't indicated that we wanted a slower pace or anything like that. So, for the talent and entertainment, you should definitely go and experience the food for yourself. We won't be returning again, unfortunately. One of the bright memories of my short trip to Amsterdam was visiting this restaurant. The show that the waiters put on, the choice of songs, everything was top notch. In terms of service, there were no problems either, everything was fast. I took the 4-course menu, there was enough food for me. Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours here in a very fun atmosphere.

At Pasta e Basta, everything is simply fantastic. The food is delicious and perfectly prepared, the atmosphere is cozy and warm, and the service is always attentive and friendly. They even cater to dietary requirements! The music completes the evening and creates an unforgettable experience. Definitely a place to return to again and again!

I reported this to the restaurant manager, but he only wanted to know if I was okay and if we'd had a nice evening. I think this is a testament to the restaurant's great atmosphere and hospitality. It was a wonderful experience for us that this was resolved so kindly. Once again, apologies for the inconvenience and thank you so much for this service! We will definitely be back, and hopefully with a better ending to the evening :)

I returned here for the first time after almost 15 years. The concept has remained more or less the same, but with a more accessible design for a younger audience. The atmosphere is great; everyone is there to be entertained for an evening. The service is excellent! The quality of the singing started well, but declined over the course of the evening as the tempo and popularity of the songs increased. The song sequence became non-stop halfway through, making conversation virtually impossible. So, this isn't the place to come for an intimate evening with friends and great live musical accompaniment, but rather for a party to celebrate. The quality and portioning of the menu were inconsistent. Sometimes a pitiful, unimaginative portion (amuse), other times a very generous appetizer. The pasta (primi) and the osso bucco (secondi) were nothing to write home about. The additional fish dish (5 courses), however, was excellent. The basic wines (Chardonnay and Primitivo) were mediocre. There's a lesson to be learned from Italy, where house wine is often the hallmark. Then there's the price: for over €100 per person, you can expect consistent food quality. Especially since most of the groups are getting the same menu. With a few minor adjustments, it could be so much better!

It I could, only if I could, I’d give ten stars. This place is unique unlike anything else in this big city. Come for a fun dining and authentic experience, hear beatiful young and talented people sing and move around. Eat a very very nice dinner and enjoy your evening.

Atmosphere is really nice , food is tasty and jacob the waiter is really nice and helpful

A restaurant with a live musical show by its waitresses. The food is acceptable. They serve dishes in the center of the table. But what's special about this place is that the same girl taking the order suddenly comes by and starts singing everything from Rhianna to opera! One by one, they all pass by, accompanied by a pianist, and walk between all the tables. After their show, they continue serving you quickly and courteously. The place is small but bohemian, located in the heart of the city. It's quite an experience, even if it's only once in a lifetime. I believe it's by reservation only.

Hans was very bad to his staff. For example, I had not been paid for 2 months. I went on holiday to Thailand. He promised to transfer it as holiday pay. Well, then you are in Thailand without money. A very nasty man. When I got home, I went back to work. After work, my girlfriend came to pick me up. My girlfriend urged me to say something about it again. Then Hans said that my fishwife should keep her mouth shut. What a guy... In short. I would definitely not go to work here or spend my money as long as he is still (partly) in it.

Este lugar nos lo recomendó mi jefe holandés. Nuestro camarero (¿Lawrence?) era muy bueno. Muy acogedor, siempre preguntamos si nos gustaría hacer una pausa entre platos. Siempre disponible sin estar 'en - tu - cara' y lo logró mientras se sumaba al gran entretenimiento vocal de la noche. Teníamos el menú de 5 platos que era muy sabroso, bien cocinado y bien presentado. ¡Si tienes la oportunidad, vete!
