Ristorante Italia Oggi in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

We had a great experience here, so much so we returned a second time with friends who were kind enough to visit from Belgium. The owner and his sons are really nice people and give just wonderful service. The food is fabulous! The caprese salad, spaghetti Parmesan and the carbonara were all perfect. A particular surprise was the molten lava cake that they make on site. When we return to Amsterdam, it will be on our itinerary!

I had pasta parmesan. It was the best food I had ever eaten. It was so good that I went there twice during my three-day stay in Amsterdam. We also had carbonara, lasagna, margherita pizza, and peperoncino. All foods were amazing. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. I would love to visit Amsterdam again from Japan and visit this restaurant. Thank you.

Italians like me who are looking for Italian places to eat in Amsterdam, this is the place you're looking for! Delicious, light pizza, friendly, courteous, and helpful staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. We also tried the first courses and desserts and loved them! The spaghetti with clams is masterfully executed and truly makes you feel like you're in Italy! The homemade tiramisu is incredibly fresh and creamy. Congratulations, and we hope to see you soon!

What a wonderful experience this was. We had a fantastic meal here, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. Everything served looked fresh and inviting. The freshly baked bread on the wooden board, in particular, was an excellent start to the meal. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the flavors were just right. We will definitely be back here again.

A lovely discovery that we visited twice. Each time the service was quick, the portions generous, and the waitresses friendly and attentive. The Picollo Mondo pasta was truly delicious!

It was a great restaurant before now the qualities has dropped due to cutting cost pasta lobster 32 Euro without lobster pasta seafood without seafood etc Than the drinks became so expensive I paid 11.00 euros for a beer the first time and last time I will never go there any more. When the quality drops end prices go up it’s the end of the restaurant. For us NO Oggie anymore

Absolutely delicious pizza made in their own oven, set off by the perfect red wine. Tucked away down one of Amsterdam's little streets. Attentive staff and aovely happy atmosphere.

Delicious food, wonderful service, and nestled in a quiet road near the canals. The owner is the sweetest!! Seen in the picture. He gave me a present to go home with which was beyond nice. They have amazing specials so always ask to see the board. Even when the restaurant is busy, we could still chat and enjoy our company. Went back twice during our stay and can not wait to go back again!

We had such a delightful time at Ristorante Italia Oggi! The food was authentic Italian--fresh, simple, delicious. The portions substantial. Great value. Super service. Their specials are awesome, particularly their pasta parmigiana which they finish at your table. We highly recommend this ristorante and will go again whenever we travel to Amsterdam.

Yet another tourist trap. Overpriced for the quality and quantity served. Neither bad nor good, just mediocre. Blaring music. Stick to a pizza; the rest isn't worthy of an Italian restaurant.

Absolutely unbelievable. If you come to Amsterdam and don’t come here you’re doing yourself a disservice. The food is like you’re in Italy, the service is personable and attentive without being rushed. One dish after the next just kept getting better. The tomato soup, mushroom risotto and margherita pizza were standouts. To quote my husband, “if I lived in Amsterdam, I’d come here twice a week!”. So delicious and memorable, couldn’t recommend it more! Grazie Mille!

It starts with warm welcoming service that tells you straight away it's a family run restaurant. The food and drinks are all very authentic. We had 4 starters, 3 mains and about 10 drinks amongst 4 of us. We are from Australia so it seemed expensive to us but seems about average for area.

Don't order any appetizers,breads, or salads. You'll get you entree 1.5 hrs later and your pizza dough is gooey and saturated. That's not cheese. Its dough.

We walked in without a reservation. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We spoke to the chef. He made some recommendations, that we gladly accepted. The beef carpaccio melted in my mouth. But as good as it was, the main course was 100X better! The prawns were spectacular…seasoned perfectly. And the pasta was done expertly! It was the best pasta I have had anywhere in the world. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce to noodles ratio was spot on. I’m not sure how they did it, but the parmigiana simply melted into the dish giving it an ultra creamy richness that I have never experienced. What’s more, the noodles held the heat through out the entirety of dinner, so the last bite was as warm and fresh as the first bite. Bravo. I’m coming back!!

A lovely little restaurant near Amsterdam's old town. The typical Italian food was delicious. We felt very comfortable.

We had appetizers and pizza Oggi Italia with Parma ham. Fresh and delicious. The wait was a bit long even though it wasn't busy, and it wasn't cheap (€24 for the pizza).

What can I say? February 14th: Hooray for lovers! 20 minutes to receive the Valentine's Day menu. No other menu, that wasn't expected... Oh well. 30 minutes to place the order. We get a bottle of water: yay! Second try: the owner didn't write down our order and jotted down our dishes on a scrap of paper. People are running around like headless chickens for absolutely no service. We still haven't received the two glasses of wine we ordered. We then realize that other tables are getting pasta and pizzas, which aren't on the Valentine's Day menu. But we explain to two young people at the next table that they need to order the Valentine's Day menu. We point this out to the owner, who brings us the menu and says we can change it, that the order hasn't been sent to the kitchen yet... 45 minutes: goodbye everyone... we're outta here! A total tourist trap and a complete rip-off! We're going to eat at the Italian restaurant a little further down... the service, the attention... we can finally breathe.

Friendly staff, and they had a special Valentine's Day menu. The food was great!

Yesterday we had a bite to eat at a nice Italian restaurant not far from our house. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to a great table. The cod was definitely one of my favorites. I often order it at restaurants, but this one was definitely the best. A successful Valentine's Day, well done! 👍

We were there late afternoon. It was very quiet. Later, it got a bit busier. We had delicious pasta. And focaccia as a starter, super delicious!! Great service. The toilet was a bit rickety. And it was annoying that you're not allowed to flush toilet paper. But we'll definitely be back!!!

Very slow service, noisy atmosphere. I liked the pizza, yet everything else is below average. I personally would not recommend this place as an Italian restaurant.

I love this restaurant, if it wasn't for their fantastic Pasta Pamigiana, then for their exquisite cheesecake. Always a pleasure to return here! *update* I'm not changing the five stars overall, but yesterday my experience was not as usual. I ordered Melanzana alla Parmigiana as a starter, it took half an hour to arrive and when it did, it was lukewarm. You'd expect this to come straight out of the oven. My main course faired better.

This is Italian food of very high quality and even far from Italy and with tomatoes that taste like tomatoes in December. The menu is varied, and the prices are absolutely in line with both the food and the wine. The service was very friendly but also a bit chaotic, we were forgotten a couple of times along the way. The waiters literally run around, should there have been one more? The place is cozy and has beautiful murals of Italian landscapes and pictures of Sophia Loren. The overall experience was unfortunately slightly spoiled by a very loud local party, which only got worse the more drunk they got. It would have been appropriate for the restaurateur to ask them to quiet down, but it's a delicate balancing act with paying customers.

Very friendly staff - happy faces serving us good food ! We went on Christmas evening. Most places were closed but this was open and staff was very warm and welcoming. Place was nicely buzzy, interiors is well done and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My son ordered the pasta bolognese and was fully satiated. Pizza with Tuna also was well done. Food wise, you have good options but the smiling service of the staff won our hearts. Can happily go back.

The food is not bad. This place used to be the right combination of good food and reasonable prices. Unfortunately a glass of wine costs 10 euro now! Reason for me not come back again.. paying 100 euro for 2 people, even without a starter is absurd.. sorry

A lot of waiting and asking for water, wine, bread, whether we could order, whether we could pay, etc. Dried-out vitello, overcooked meat when I asked for medium. Returned the plate, waited 15 minutes for another attempt, also mediocre. It was removed from the bill. In short, a bad experience. The waiters were working themselves to the bone to make something of it, but that was a struggle. Too many chairs for a too-small kitchen and insufficient staff is detrimental to a restaurant. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. The service, the food, and the ambiance are all 5 stars. We enjoyed the dining experience so much when we came here in 2023 that we returned in 2025 to bring our entire family!

What a treasure trove of incredible food. From the moment we set foot inside we were welcomed, greeted, and seated together. As a group of 7 during a busy weekend in Amsterdam we were extremely happy. The servers were excellent and the chefs extremely talented. From the bread to the pasta to the wine. This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants we’ve been to. The service was absolutely amazing and if you get the chance to try the PASTA PARMIGIANA on the special menu, you will NOT be disappointed!

The 4 stars are only due to the acoustics in the restaurant. We had to speak very loudly to be heard. The restaurant was packed and very loud... The food was EXCELLENT. The service could have been better. The pizza, penne, gnocchi, and gannelloni were very tasty. The wine selection wasn't great, but that's okay. We would come again!

Very attentive service. I like that the food was very hot. The small menu is perfect. The bread was warm – very good. The olive oil was infused with chili – very good. The ambiance is good. It's a bit lacking in finishing touches. However, that's a very individual opinion. A little tip: it's more pleasant when just one waiter attends to you and not another one asking the same question. It's not a big deal.

The food is an absolute 10/10, you can really taste that everything is made with love and care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are super attentive and friendly. Phenomenal restaurant! I highly recommend it if you love Italian pasta. We came here with our kids, and they got to prepare their own pasta Parmigiano - such a fun experience. Exceptional food and atmosphere. The kids were happy, my wife was happy, and that means daddy was happy too.

After eating Italian for last 5 days in a row during our trip to Amsterdam, we still found an Italian restaurant with unique taste and vegetarian options. The warm Focassia served with garlic butter and olive tapenade is not on menu but a must order. The pizza was customised as per our request. And the warmth of the server was unmatched.

Llevamos más de 10 años disfrutando de Italia Oggi, y cada vez que visitamos Amsterdam (una de nuestras ciudades favoritas) nuestra primera cena suele ser en Italia Oggi – a menudo vamos más de una vez. El propietario siempre nos recuerda, lo que hace que la comida deliciosa sea aún mejor! No habíamos estado de vacaciones desde 2019 y estábamos emocionados de volver el pasado abril, e Italia Oggi no nos decepcionó. La comida estaba deliciosa como siempre - prefiero el pan de casa a la focaccia, pero ese soy solo yo - y nuestra servidora esta vez, Marjorie, era maravilloso ... y un hoot - y - un - medio! En cuanto a la comida, la burrata para empezar (TAN cremosa) y la lasaña (¡increíble! ) siempre son un hecho. Hay un montón de grandes platos en el menú, incluyendo algunas producciones de ruedas de queso junto a la mesa, pero esta vez, por sugerencia de Marjorie, elegimos un ravioli de hongos que estaba fuera de este mundo. Terminamos con el tiramisú y nos encantó (normalmente no soy fan del tiramisú). Italia Oggi es relajado y amable y la comida siempre es tan satisfactoria. La casa roja (vino) también es bastante agradable. Comida aparte, entre el amable personal y las conversaciones con las mesas a su lado, es difícil no divertirse en Italia Oggi. Ya hemos reservado nuestro regreso a Amsterdam a finales de julio, y sin duda volveremos. Probablemente dos veces. Por último, a pesar de que Italia Oggi ha existido durante años, el restaurante parece una joya por descubrir porque el conserje de nuestro hotel no estaba familiarizado con él, pero después de escucharnos delirar al respecto, ahora lo están!

Gente agradable, excelente bruschetta, pero el servicio caótico y desarticulado. A todos se les servía su orden en momentos muy diferentes, algunos después de que todos los demás ya habían comido. It is a cosy little restaurant on a pretty street so the first impression was already positive. The service was very good, we were well looked after. We had the seabass and the steak with roasted potatoes and veggies and they were absolutely delicious. The fish was a recommendation and I am glad I listened. Excellent quality, I will tell all my friends.

One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Our bruschetta classica was marvelously simple with fresh tomatoes we were able to drizzle with balsamic vinegar. The grilled prawns had a subtle but distinctive garlic and lemon sauce that paired beautifully with the shellfish. My wife's lasagna bolognaise was superlative- what lasagna should taste like. The restaurant was slammed by an unexpected party of 20 shortly after we arrived. They added a lot of noise, but our service remained calm and attentive, resulting in a marvelous dining experience. The only negative is that we will never return, as we are on a one-time European tour. But we can nonetheless give this restaurant our unequivocal recommendation.
