Ristorante Italia Oggi in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

A charming restaurant, just off the main road, offering a peaceful Italian dining experience. We went early, so it was still quite empty. Later, the restaurant filled up nicely, with repeat diners. The service is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food is highly recommended.

Highly recommended. We came here twice during our stay in Amsterdam because many of the dishes on the menu appealed to us. Everything was excellent! From the pasta to the risotto and especially the tiramisu. It's a must-try.

After eating Italian for last 5 days in a row during our trip to Amsterdam, we still found an Italian restaurant with unique taste and vegetarian options. The warm Focassia served with garlic butter and olive tapenade is not on menu but a must order. The pizza was customised as per our request. And the warmth of the server was unmatched.

The staff were very friendly and the food was prepared very quickly. The portions were very generous, so you'll definitely be full here!

Llevamos más de 10 años disfrutando de Italia Oggi, y cada vez que visitamos Amsterdam (una de nuestras ciudades favoritas) nuestra primera cena suele ser en Italia Oggi – a menudo vamos más de una vez. El propietario siempre nos recuerda, lo que hace que la comida deliciosa sea aún mejor! No habíamos estado de vacaciones desde 2019 y estábamos emocionados de volver el pasado abril, e Italia Oggi no nos decepcionó. La comida estaba deliciosa como siempre - prefiero el pan de casa a la focaccia, pero ese soy solo yo - y nuestra servidora esta vez, Marjorie, era maravilloso ... y un hoot - y - un - medio! En cuanto a la comida, la burrata para empezar (TAN cremosa) y la lasaña (¡increíble! ) siempre son un hecho. Hay un montón de grandes platos en el menú, incluyendo algunas producciones de ruedas de queso junto a la mesa, pero esta vez, por sugerencia de Marjorie, elegimos un ravioli de hongos que estaba fuera de este mundo. Terminamos con el tiramisú y nos encantó (normalmente no soy fan del tiramisú). Italia Oggi es relajado y amable y la comida siempre es tan satisfactoria. La casa roja (vino) también es bastante agradable. Comida aparte, entre el amable personal y las conversaciones con las mesas a su lado, es difícil no divertirse en Italia Oggi. Ya hemos reservado nuestro regreso a Amsterdam a finales de julio, y sin duda volveremos. Probablemente dos veces. Por último, a pesar de que Italia Oggi ha existido durante años, el restaurante parece una joya por descubrir porque el conserje de nuestro hotel no estaba familiarizado con él, pero después de escucharnos delirar al respecto, ahora lo están!

Everything is delicious, very enjoyable, definitely a place to come, both desserts and other foods will make you happy.

Very nice service and pretty decent food.

It is a cosy little restaurant on a pretty street so the first impression was already positive. The service was very good, we were well looked after. We had the seabass and the steak with roasted potatoes and veggies and they were absolutely delicious. The fish was a recommendation and I am glad I listened. Excellent quality, I will tell all my friends.

Far too loud, with dishes being hurled loudly in the kitchen, and guests even had to speak up over the loud music. The food was mediocre.

One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Our bruschetta classica was marvelously simple with fresh tomatoes we were able to drizzle with balsamic vinegar. The grilled prawns had a subtle but distinctive garlic and lemon sauce that paired beautifully with the shellfish. My wife's lasagna bolognaise was superlative- what lasagna should taste like. The restaurant was slammed by an unexpected party of 20 shortly after we arrived. They added a lot of noise, but our service remained calm and attentive, resulting in a marvelous dining experience. The only negative is that we will never return, as we are on a one-time European tour. But we can nonetheless give this restaurant our unequivocal recommendation.

We had an incredible dinner at Ristorante Italiana Oggi — hands down the best in town. The sea bass stew was rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely bursting with flavour, while the bolognese classica was a masterclass in simplicity done right. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made the whole evening even more special. We’ll definitely be back — highly recommended!

Nice restaurant. The chef (probably the owner) did his best to keep everything running smoothly and to keep it cozy. Bruschetta, Carbonara and Cheesecake eaten. All very tasty. Got a lot of bruschetta. The pasta amount could have been a bit more (pasta fan!), but very tasty. And the cheesecake was also great. Good experience, I would eat there again :)

Las papas fritas son decentes, crujientes por fuera, pero podrían usar un poco más de sabor. La variedad de salsas es agradable, pero el servicio se sintió un poco apresurado. En general, un lugar sólido para un bocadillo rápido, pero no el mejor que he tenido.

I love this restaurant, if it wasn't for their fantastic Pasta Pamigiana, then for their exquisite cheesecake. Always a pleasure to return here!

Overall - very positive experience with the food and service, would definitely come back, highly recommend. Friend and I were looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner. We saw the good reviews on this place so decided to give it a try. We came around 19:30. It was quite busy but we could still find a spot for two. We ordered a starter, main and dessert. At first we were served a different starter than what we ordered because the waitress misunderstood our order. But it turned out to be good and we enjoyed it as well as the rest of dishes, so still give the whole experience a solid 5/5. Wait time was relatively short despise the busy time. The staff are friendly and professional. The chef seemed to make food with a lot of passion I could even taste it.

Fue un poco ruidoso al principio (sobre todo debido a un grupo que celebra una fiesta de dólares). Compartimos una bruschetta y pizza entre 2 que era delicioso y más que suficiente. Combinado con un par de vasos de la casa rojo hecho para una buena noche.

We were there with our youngest. Very friendly staff and the tastiest Parmesan pasta. We will definitely go back there again.

For the end of 2024, I visited the restaurant with my friends. But this place was the worst. The servers and the boss were racist. Our food came out later than the whites who came in later than us, and we had to keep waiting. And instead of giving us the wine we ordered, we purposely gave us the more expensive wine so we paid more. Even though we pointed to the wine on the menu, we purposely brought another expensive wine. This restaurant left the Dutch memory at its worst. To mark the end of 2024, I visited a restaurant with my friends. But this place was the worst. Employees and the boss discriminated against each other racially. Our food came out later than the white people who came after us, and we had to keep waiting for our food. And instead of giving us the wine we ordered, they deliberately gave us a more expensive wine and made us pay more. Even though we indicated the wine on the menu, they deliberately brought another expensive wine. This restaurant left me with my worst memories of Holland.

We enjoy eating here every year when we walk the Amsterdam Light Walk with our group. Super tasty, great atmosphere and very friendly service. Just a great case. Highly recommended!

We were a group of 5 on our first trip to Amsterdam and ate here last night. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was wonderful. The pasta was fresh made, the eggplant had great flavor, the seafood risotto was great (not salty light others we have had). Overall it was a great meal for all. Would we go back, absolutely. We even had 2 bottles of wine.

Best pasta I have ever eaten, super sweet owner and nice staff. Definitely worth repeating. Thanks for the Pannettone and see you next time.

Este restaurante es absolutamente increíble. El personal era tan amable y servicial Gio era nuestro camarero que era genial. La comida era fuera de este mundo y uno de los mejores italianos que he tenido. Su pizza es para morirse. Mi sobrina es una comedora muy quisquillosa y solo pide lasaña y también dijo que era de lejos lo mejor que tenía. Y el pan de ajo estaba a otro nivel. Sin duda volveremos. El precio era muy razonable también, que siempre es bueno.

Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí dos veces como fin de semana de nuestro tiempo en Amsterdam. De lejos los mejores espaguetis boloñeses que he comido. Mi esposa tomó el especial de Pasta de Salmón y dijo que también era muy bueno. En el segundo ordené los espaguetis boloñeses de nuevo y mi esposa ordenó la lasaña. We were in town for a cruise and celebrating our 49th anniversary. We have gone here on each of our 4 Amsterdam visits, and booked this nite far in advance for a special dinner. There were 5 of us, and all had excellent entrees.

We ate here the first night visiting Amsterdam and came back 3 more times!!!! there is of course great food in the city to choose from but this restaurant makes you feel like you are family- so at the end of each day you find yourself craving this amazing food and charming company to round out the perfect day in the city. Every dish is fantastic and some of the best Italian food we have ever had! to not hesitate to eat here again and again while you are in Amsterdam!

Far too high a price for bland cuisine, of mediocre quality, in very small quantities. Very disapointed. Example: a salad for 18 euros actually only consists of green salad plus 3 pieces of pear and 3 pieces of cheese...

The best Italian outside of Italy 🇮🇹. The food was wonderful. Everything fresh. You can also see into the kitchen from the dining room. Pizza and pasta are simply great. We visited the restaurant for the second time today on our short vacation in Amsterdam and were thrilled by the friendly, fast service and the very tasty food. Despite the many guests, the order didn't take long. Big praise to the two waiters and the excellent cuisine. We can highly recommend the “Ristorante Italia Oggi” 👍👍.

After a bad day, eating here was an absolute highlight! Everything tasted delicious and was freshly prepared. The service was also very good. The only negative point was the really loud music, which even got louder as time went on.

We had a fantastic meal here in July 2024. We are 2 adults and 2 kids and the food was simply superb. The host and hostess were friendly and efficient. We had starters and main courses which were delicious fresh and good value. The toilets were very clean - very steep stairs up to them though. I would recommend Italia Oggi and hope to go back some day.

Horrible welcome. I came with my friend to ask if they have some menu for the drinks and one waiter answer aggressively « we are a restaurant, not a bar, good night ». Zero consideration and really unpolite, I really don’t recommend.

Tourist trap Tired, we opened the door of the first Italian restaurant - a sure bet - on our route. Peccato, from Italian it only has the name, in fact. Here we don't think about your stomach but about your wallet. Very -too -noisy room, giving a headache, very very long wait, "confused" service when we come to take your order several times and despite everything we never get in! No communication with us or each other. Risotto bathed in oil with a little fishy taste - forgot to wash the pan? -an original 4 seasons without artichokes without olives, surely in Dutch style and an industrial panna cotta spilled on a plate for dessert. All this for a very salty addition. Tourists, too bad for fatigue, move on, there are very good Italian restaurants run by Italians in Amsterdam where for the same price we enjoyed a more copious menu and smiles to boot.

Perfect Italian food!! We enjoyed the food, most are made there, fresh and delicious. Frutti de mare was excellent and the homemade gnocchi were very light and tasty . Homemade tiramisu was the perfect ending for us ! Our hotel reception (Monet Garden Hotel) has recommended it and we were very happy with the choice. Highly recommended it !

Real Italian, exceptionally good food!

Great Italian restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. The pastas are cooked al dente and full of flavor. The bread is served with a garlic butter and a tapenade which were both delicious. Please note that there is a 6 euro charge for bread! Our waitress was lovely - helpful and friendly. The owner comes by to say goodbye. When you want a break from the local foods, this is a perfect place to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. Highly recommend eating here.

Go your way. Noisy restaurant, slow service, we were served two bottles of water (one still and one sparkling) without telling us the prices, total: 15 euros. The burrata salad, although 14 euros, contained half a tomato and a few crumbs of mozzarella (not burrata). Very expensive restaurant for what it is, you should flee.

Fairly average experience, very basic for a rather high price. I think you can find better value for money.

Honest review here. Overpriced for what it is. Small portions, chewy steak for €30, focaccia is just pizza dough. There is cheaper Italian in the city that is better. The pasta was tasty, but anywhere can make a decent spaghetti or they shouldn’t be in business.

It is one of the most beautiful Italian restaurants in Europe. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. We tried the lasagna and it was very, very delicious. The risotto after was delicious. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Don't expect a nice warm welcome! If you are not a regular, expect poor service. Such an awful attitude towards us. I ordered a carbonara which arrived and had to wait 8 minutes for my husband's pizza to arrive. Certainly not somewhere I would recommend.
