Pastini in Grachtengordel-Zuid

My wife had a beautiful tight prawn tagliatelle with modified Hollandaise sauce. Note, it came with plenty of normal sized prawns, not 1 tiger prawn. I listened to the owner and had the Thai red curry chicken tagliatelle pasta, which for me didn't work. It all tastes ok, but was too mild and too weird. The scallop starter for 8 euro was 1 scallop sliced sitting in a very light sweet Chili sauce.. hmm. Not enough flavour, should have been in garlic butter and should have been 2 scallops. Pays at 21 euro was fair for the quality. An American brother and sister at the restaurant thought their tiramisu was the best ever, it was very good, traditional, but I'll set like a stronger coffee flavour with more alcohol. All in all, great Italian for Holland.

A most invitingly beautiful quiet corner location overlooking the canals of central Amsterdam. The restaurant is also small and super cozy. Service is good. The menu is really very limited, of good - but not great - quality.

At Pastini, every dish is carefully prepared with high-quality ingredients, which is evident in every bite. The team is professional, polite and well-informed about the menu. Reservations online ONLY, this was a pain, as google Translate only works so much, and most of the reservation is in Dutch. (Find someone to read the reservation for you, I had help from my friends at the dolphin shop close by) Now the food....Holy Shit. I had the asparagus soup, which is only in season for two months, and it was incredible! Every bite was outstanding. Even the bowl was perfectly crafted for the lovely spoons they provided. For the main dinner, I had the seasonal white asparagus with salmon & crayfish. Holy sh*t... every bite was sensational. I mean it. I really couldn't believe it. I've had some great food over the years, and this meal is definitely in my top 3 favorites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Props to the cooks and the owner who's been there for 30+ years. Wow. Second review: Had to go back as the first time was outstanding. Found out they change the menu on a weekly basis. My favorite dishes were no longer in season, but dinner was still incredible. Just wow... Will be visiting next year as this was one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam after a 3 week stay. Also, the owner changed the website for easier booking as I had recommended! It's now in English, which means I didn't have to find someone who read Dutch to book again! Coming from an assistant who helps manage 3 businesses and owns my own. I was very impressed with how quickly the website was changed and honored that the owner took my recommendation into consideration. This business doesn't need the five-star review to stay afloat, as it surley does so through word of mouth on its own. However, when I find a place, I can call my favorite. I must do my part in hoping this business thrives.

Ik ben eerlijk gezegd verbaasd over de vele positieve reacties over het eten hier. Gisteravond bestelden we de pasta goulash. Hoewel het eten binnen 10 minuten op tafel stond, vonden we het helaas teleurstellend. Het rundvlees was taai, de saus een eenvoudige mix van stukjes paprika en tomatenpuree, en de smaak was erg vlak. Daarnaast lag er een hoop haricots verts bovenop de pasta, wat niet echt bij het gerecht paste. We hebben dit aangegeven bij de ober en gevraagd of we alleen voor de fles wijn mochten betalen en het eten konden retourneren. Dit werd zonder problemen geregeld, wat we erg netjes vonden. Uiteindelijk zijn we naar een ander restaurant gegaan. Het snelle en begripvolle handelen van het personeel waardeer ik, maar helaas was het eten voor ons geen succes.

I am honestly surprised at the many positive reactions about the food here. Last night we ordered the pasta goulash. Although the food was on the table within 10 minutes, we unfortunately found it disappointing. The beef was tough, the sauce a simple mix of chunks of peppers and very little tomato paste, and the flavor was very flat. In addition, there was haricots verts on top of the pasta, which didn't really suit the dish. We pointed this out to the waiter and asked if we could only pay for the bottle of wine and return the food. This was arranged without any problems, which we thought was very nice. We ended up going to another restaurant. I appreciate the quick and understanding actions of the staff, but unfortunately the food was not a success for us.

La comida, el servicio y el ambiente estaban en el lugar. Yo estaba en un viaje de negocios y me quedé un par de puertas abajo y decidí ir allí para comer una noche. No me decepcionó. No me sentía incómoda como una dama cenando sola. Es un pequeño restaurante íntimo, así que intenta reservar con antelación si puedes. Sin duda volveré si vuelvo a visitar Amsterdam de nuevo.

Restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. I initially had a reservation for 7:00 PM, but fortunately I was able to move it to 6:15 PM. That suited me better. Immediately friendly service upon arrival because they hung up my coat for me. I was immediately asked if I wanted a drink. I soon got that. Then I was told there was a special: cannelloni with duck and port sauce. How delicious this was! I've eaten a lot of pasta in my life, this was definitely one of the tastiest! The food arrived within 5 minutes, when I finished it I asked for the bill and I got it straight away. I was eating here alone, so the fact that the service was so fast was super nice for me.

Great spot right on the canal. Cute and small with excellent service. Pasta was amazing (I had the lamb tagliatelle) as was the crab brioche. Finished with the tiramisu (delish) and a true classic affogato which was a perfect balance of bitter and sweet. Could watch the twinkling lights and fall leaves along the canal. Highly recommend!

My partner & I saw this joint as we were walking around and decided to try our luck as it was pretty busy, got in straight away! Amazing food, the tomato & ginger soup was unforgettable & I normally don’t really enjoy soup! we will be back!

Very nice place, some choices in the menu were a bit too strange for our taste (burrata with kiwi) but well-made. Beautiful look over the canal in a beautiful corner locale. The toilets were weirdly close to the kitchen, maybe a door from the hallway to the kitchen could help.

Nuestro servidor, Tony (la versión inglesa de su nombre holandés) , era muy servicial, amable y tenía un gran sentido del humor. La comida era deliciosa. There were four of us for dinner and we came upon this restaurant on our way back to our hotel on first night in Amsterdam. Beet salad and fish dinner were excellent. Service even better. Our host recommended a restaurant for our next night that was as good.

Pastini is an out-of-the-way restaurant that we stumbled upon on a Friday evening. I think we were lucky to be served with no reservation. The restaurant is cozy and charming. Our service was impeccable and the appetizer (crudo) and mains (pasta dishes) were very well put together and delicious! Desserts were scrumptious also. Highly recommend!

We completely did not understand why this place is so recommended and praised. The food was just mediocre, edible but no flavor. Pasta with smoked salmon probably from the packet. And finally, desserts were so not good. Feels like they are saving on the ingredients. Wine was okay. The reviews were misleading, so disappointing

We sat in the middle of the shack and felt quite watched. We asked for water and a large bottle was immediately brought. Food was certainly tasty. The portions were small, I think you were expected to have 3 courses. We didn't really feel welcome.

Upscale Italian cuisine. Only open a few days a week, you'll most likely need a reservation. The atmosphere and the food are both sophisticated. The appetizers range from beetroot burrata to tuna carpaccio and on the main you can find classic pasta as well as fish. The wine selection is good but off course expect a slightly more expensive dinner than your classic homy Italian restaurant.

Stumbled upon this wonderful Italian restaurant when we were heading back to our hotel during a short visit to Amsterdam. The owner was warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. If you find yourselves in Amsterdam, this is a must experience. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent place in Amsterdam. Typical setting, very friendly staff and the food is excellent, all for a reasonable budget. A stone's throw from the center, but far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just a little problem for the tomato mozzarella tagliatelle where there was only one very small ball of mozzarella... A second one wouldn't be too much. Nothing to complain about for the rest.

Lovely spot near the 9 streets. Interesting twist on Italian cuisine. Delicious food and the proprietor is charming. We have been many times at this point and will continue to go for more! Reservations recommended, they can get very busy.

OK, just go. It's so good that I hesitate to even post this, as I don'twant it to get too big, but it must stay in business as it is. Fresh, well-cooked small and excellent menu. All delicious. Something about the service was exactly right too: they appear at exactly the right time, whether it's to order or to refill a wine glass, but no false fussing around. Pretty corner, excellent food, how to do a restaurant right. Experience that here.

Decided to circle back to this quaint little restaurant for dinner and we were so pleased that we did. The place was full, and ever to appeared to be having a great time. We had the superb smoked eel as a starter: it was very good. The mushroom pasta was perfection, as was the cod plate. Service was attentive and helpful. Excellent in every way. Bravo!

Wat een juweel van een restaurant! Super locatie en die gerechten zijn pareltjes! Witte asperges met linguini en paddestoelen met spinazie en linguini, burrata met gazpacho, arancini, super vers brood en tot slot heerlijke desserts. Fijne attente rustige bediening. Fraaie wijnen als helemaal top, we komen snel weer!

This was an enormously enjoyable accidental discovery. The setting is immediately appealing on the corner overlooking the bridge over two canals with lots of windows. Simply and attractive decor. The owner was most welcoming and helpful. The menu short (usually a good sign) and imaginative and every item on the plates executed to perfection. The wine list also short but catering to most tastes and very reasonably priced . This evening was a highlight of our tour and we have been recommending it to all since we returned. We certainly won't go back to Amsterdam without visiting again.
