Fantastic decor! The staff is helpful and super friendly. Wide selection of drinks etc., the cocktails are good! The food is tasty, but not ‘wow’, so the price-quality ratio is a bit on the high side. The Caprese burrata could be served with a bit more tomato; it is out of proportion.

A truly delightful place. The highlight is undoubtedly the authentic flavors of Italian cuisine, especially the carefully prepared pizzas and pastas, rich in flavor. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting, with thoughtful furnishings, a stunning glass wall displaying bottles, and warm lighting that creates a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. The service makes the experience even more enjoyable: the staff stands out for their friendliness, helpfulness, and attentiveness. Special praise goes to Beatrice, always kind, smiling, and professional, making every guest feel welcomed and cared for with great care. A place where you can eat well, feel welcomed, and spend a lovely evening away, but not too far, from the city center. That's exactly where we reached it from using a free and quick ferry. Definitely a place worth trying...

You will not find a more delicious Vitello Tonnato anywhere else, the tonnato, the sauce... so tasteful and beautiful presented as well. The cheese on the Pizza Quatro Formaggi... it melts on your tongue. Would I ever return to this restaurant near the river IJ with the beautiful sunset? YES, I WILL! And I will bring my Italian auntie! Also great hospitality and decoration.

This place is just disgusting, it is infested with flies. We were seated originally by the kitchen which normally I would love, but we asked to be moved after I counted 18 big, black flies on the wall behind my husband. We then sat near the door, fly free at first, but when the food came, so did they. Also the salad had very tiny flies crawling in it. And we asked for one salad without dressing but it came identical to the one with dressing. Corked wine and a cheesy carbonara sauce, nothing good about this place.

So many flies attacking the food… this is not hygienic at all!! I had to fight with the flies, but i lost eventually and gave up on my pizza..poor experience

It was very cozy and pleasant and the service was top-notch. We were helped by Julia and she was very friendly and assisted us well. The food was also very tasty. It is highly recommended!!

Beautiful on the inside and the bathroom was also special. We had an amazing tiramisu, which was homemade, and the pizza was also delicious. The waitress was very kind and funny, she even surprised my dad for his birthday (which was on the next day btw - because we were telling her we’ll come back then) with a fountain candle sticked in coffee beans and we got free limoncello shots❤️

If this restaurant service could improve it would get five stars but the service was really bad. The food was absolutely amazing but our server barely checked in on us and forgot an a starter that we ordered. We ended up getting the appetizer after we finished the entirety of our meal, and only after we reminded her of it right after our main dishes came. She also didn't bring one of the drinks that we ordered.

What a wonderful evening we had here. The atmosphere at the NDSM quay is fantastic, and every single dish looked beautiful on the colorful plates. The truffle pasta, in particular, was a real highlight of the evening. Everything was perfectly balanced, and we thoroughly enjoyed the carefully prepared dishes. We are ending the evening on a cheerful note with a toast. This is definitely a place to return to soon.

Upon entering, we were immediately impressed by the beautiful interior and the cozy atmosphere of the establishment. Unfortunately, the culinary experience was a major disappointment. Our starter was served even before we received our aperitifs, which made the service feel somewhat disorganized. We both chose the carpaccio, but it was a letdown due to the very overpowering vinaigrette. Shortly afterward, we were served our main courses right away, making everything feel very rushed. The pizza was tasty, but the carbonara was unfortunately unsuccessful. The sauce was far too thick and had a very strong taste of aged cheese, which was unpleasant. Paying the bill was also a struggle. We had to wait a long time for the bill and, moreover, noticed that it listed two drinks we had not ordered. After that, it took quite a while again before we could finally pay. The interior of the establishment is truly beautiful, but unfortunately, the quality of the food and the service absolutely did not live up to the expectations created by the lovely decor.

We visited Bello Gio's for a dinner and were very glad to spend our evening there. Everyone was very nice, we got to know the staff, they were making conversations and we love that. We joked with them here and there, they made suggestions and treated us wonderfully. Your team was definitely the highlight of the night. The food was great too. We had antipasti, mains courses and desserts. All dishes were inventive, tasty and the portion sizes were good. We would very much recommend this place and we are so coming back here.

Wish they paid as much attention to the food as they have to the great decor of the place. We had oysters that tasted like nothing, and a very uninspired Pinot Grigio bottle of (white) wine. The veal cotoletta was a (very) large portion, and granted, tasted ok. Overal: Looked great, tasted meh...

The food was super tasty. Really, everything we ordered was top-notch. The atmosphere and the interior are also amazing; it is truly a beautiful place. A woman with a beautiful bandana and braids helped us, and she was super sweet. A real star. She helped us in such a nice way and made sure we felt completely welcome. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, & good cocktails. The carpaccio was a bit different from what we had imagined, but in a positive way. The pizzas were very tasty. Not too greasy, and thankfully not cold. The tiramisu was also very good. We did find it a bit pricey, though. Especially considering the size of the dishes. To be fair, we have to say that we expected this, given the "hype" this restaurant is currently experiencing. Hopefully, they will maintain their tasty food, friendly staff, & good atmosphere for a long time.

Had a surprisingly good meal, great decor

From the moment we walked through the door, the atmosphere was undeniably beautiful and well designed, which created a very strong first impression. Unfortunately, that is where the positives largely ended. The service was extremely slow. I would understand if this was a busy night, but it wasn’t. We still waited over 30 minutes between starters and mains, which made the experience feel unnecessarily long and poorly managed. One of the main reasons I chose this restaurant was a photo I saw on Instagram. I am a big scallop lover and the seafood pasta was clearly advertised with two beautiful scallops in the image. To my surprise, what arrived was a tomato-based pasta with mussels, one shrimp, and no scallops at all. My fiancé’s cotoletta bolognese was dry and lacked any real flavour or freshness. The suppli starter was also very disappointing, overcooked to the point where the rice inside had completely lost its texture and turned into a mushy paste. The only positives of the meal were the focaccia and cocktails which were genuinely good

It looks nice, but it is not a place you visit often. A polite welcome at the door, and nice decor. However, the quality of the food is mediocre (the bacon in the pasta carbonara was burnt) and the toilets and other areas are poorly maintained.

We were warmly welcomed by the waitress, who was very nice and hospitable. We ordered several dishes, but unfortunately, three of them arrived almost cold. Only the baby potatoes were nice and warm. After I pointed this out, they offered the drinks for free, which I certainly appreciate. Still, it is a shame that the food was not served properly hot. Otherwise, it is a nice restaurant with friendly staff.

We were looked after so well by the manger and team. We sat at the bar and had some amazing cocktails from the guys and some incredible food. The manager Sophie even shared her favourite cocktail with us. Top class service all round! Highly recommend!

This was one of our unexpected visits to the restaurant. We were staying in a hotel in Noord and not have that many choices where to go on Friday evening, so we try our luck by this place. We were lucky to get the place, the waiters were very attentive, the food is good and the atmosphere was also nice, inside it is a little bit too loud to have a proper conversation. What disappointed me really a little bit was when I want to order the pizza that was highly promoted by the waiter and also on the billboard outside, and when I ordered it, they told me not anymore. Why do you promote it if you don’t have it? I would go for this combination immediately. Otherwise, thanks for a nice Friday evening.

Ok, there is a car on the wall... And then? Dishes are light and expansive, and between the bar, the open kitchen and the loud music, noise is perfect if you don't want to talk. The team and surroundings were nice though.

We had a delicious meal at Bello Gio's by the River. The food was truly delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely and welcoming!

Starters arrived before our first drinks. We then waited a very long time for the starter plates to be cleared and for our main dishes to arrive. We were not able to finish all of our pizzas, and the waitress asked if we would like to take the leftovers with us. However, in the end the table was cleared and we never received the takeaway pizza. We also ordered three drinks with dessert but only received two, and we had to ask again for the third one. It was a special occasion for us, and unfortunately the whole dinner experience was very disappointing.

Wow, what a delicious meal we had at Gio's tonight! Beatrice was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything we ate was delicious, even the caponata side dish was delicious on its own. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very pleasant. Spacious and full of color, which is what we love! We've been here several times before and will definitely be back. We booked this restaurant for our last meal out on 15.02.2026 at 18:00 because we had heard great things and were really looking forward to it. The atmosphere was lovely, and we started off on a positive note. We ordered two drinks and two sides, which were both excellent and really enjoyable. However, service became quite disorganized after that. We initially had one server, then another took over. After ordering a pizza, pasta, and an espresso martini, the food arrived after about 25 minutes, but my drink did not. When I asked about it, the server admitted she had forgotten it. It arrived about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, the pasta was cold and disappointing, although the pizza was hot and tasty. My boyfriend also ordered a beer, which never arrived at all. We then waited around 15 minutes trying to get our server’s attention to follow up on the beer, but she never came to our table. Eventually, after seeing other tables approach her directly to ask for their bill, we did the same as we were ready to leave. It’s disappointing because the restaurant has potential and the atmosphere is nice and some of the food was good, but the service issues and cold dish really impacted what we had hoped would be a special final meal out. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as we genuinely wanted to enjoy the experience.

I ate here yesterday for my birthday. We received a friendly welcome. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere. There's plenty of choice on the menu. Because we couldn't decide on an appetizer, we opted for several. Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely eat there again. Definitely worth a visit. Paid parking is available until 7:00 PM, which is great.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a very well designed entrance and a strong first impression. Front of house service was efficient and welcoming on arrival. Our table was served by a New Zealand guy, and he was genuinely exceptional. He was warm, friendly, attentive, and handled the table with real professionalism. When the initial bottle of wine arrived already opened and clearly not at its best, he immediately understood the issue without hesitation. He handled it calmly, acknowledged our concern, and opened a fresh bottle straight away, which was very good. His service genuinely stood out and elevated the experience. Unfortunately, the main letdown of the evening was the food. The gnocchi was very dry, overcooked, difficult to swallow, and lacked enough sauce. Two of us ordered the carbonara, which was extremely rich and overly creamy, to the point that it felt as though actual cream had been used rather than a more traditional preparation. Neither dish could be finished. On a positive note, the focaccia was good, and the potatoes were enjoyable and quite moreish. Overall, the space and service, particularly from our server, were strong, but the food did not live up to the standard suggested by the setting.

The food was cold at three, but she said the temperature in the melazane was correct, so it was our fault. It was a strange reaction and not very customer-friendly. I hadn't ordered the dish myself, but tasted it independently, and it was really cold. I apologized afterward, so I downgraded the rating from 1 to 3 stars.

The lobster pasta wasn't really nice. But 5 full stars for the waitresses, especially Julie (or Julia, sorry, I forget who). The atmosphere was great, the drinks were okay, and the focaccia was very tasty.
