Amazing fresh pasta for such a reasonable price

Nice and simple and very good Italian food

We ate homemade pasta here (vegetarian). It was delicious! However, it's not a cozy restaurant. So it depends on what you're looking for. The food was excellent, and the staff were really friendly, so the ambiance wasn't so important.

A small, very cozy Italian restaurant/deli. There's very limited seating, so it's best to make a reservation! They offer a wide variety of homemade pasta dishes with several sauces. For starters, we had burrata on a bed of arugula with homemade focaccia, followed by rigatoni with mushroom sauce and gnocchi with Parmesan sauce. Simple but comforting and high-quality. It was delicious!

I'm so glad we decided to try this place, the pasta was so fresh and very tasty. We also had the bruschetta and roast vegetables which were both also very good. The staff here were very helpful and you can tell there is a genuine love for the food they make. 10/10

Nice little place that looks onto the canal. Me and my friend had the the bolognese which tasted fresh. Such a nice vibe, really enjoyed the food and would go back!

It has a very stuffy atmosphere with huge chairs, the beef burger is good but not bad.

Bad food, we asked for a pasta with pomodoro sauce, the pasta was good but the sauce it tasted the same as the one you can buy for cheap in the supermarket, the sauce was not hand made at all. We also asked for meatballs that tasted okay, which came with 4 meatballs. They heat up the food in the microwave and they don't want to give you tap water, forcing you to buy bottled water.

We went there twice for lunch and received very friendly service. The food came quickly and was delicious. So anyone who happens to be passing through should definitely eat here.

Not clean. I was looking forward to my meal here and was so upset by the server's/cook's cleanliness. She was wearing a black glove on her one hand and didn't change it once, even after touching her nose, phone, menus, pen, card machine, literally everything. She would have had so many germs on her hand/glove and she used this same hand to put our pasta in the water and pick the basil leaves off the plant and put it on our pasta. The manager/owner needs to be at the restaurant monitoring this. We totally lost our appetite after watching this. 🙁

Best pasta of my life its just not even close. The rigatoni has genuinely made me consider moving to Amsterdam. Seriously, do not miss this spot.

Ciao Bella is a delicatessen that makes you feel like you're in Italy. From warm sandwiches to fresh pasta: everything is delicious, fresh, and carefully prepared. The location on Prinsengracht is the perfect finishing touch – perfect for a quick lunch or to grab a bite to eat. What surprises me is that this place doesn't have a 5-star rating. If you look at the negative reviews, you'll see they mostly focus on how things used to be here, including the owners. Ciao Bella has since been completely renovated and is truly worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Walked into store to order takeaway from Ciao Bella. Ordered Rigatoni Bolognese and Spinach/Ricotta Ravioli cooked fresh with crema funghi sauce. Both delicious meals and the ravioli was fantastic freshly cooked. We got the little mini cannolis in lemon, pistachio and chocolate and they were also very nice - not too sweet!

Amazing food and service! My husband and I went for a quick lunch and tried the pasta Bolognese — it was absolutely delicious, freshly made, and served very quickly. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine and had a lovely coffee afterward. The cannolis were the best I’ve ever had! Thank you, Ana, for the wonderful food. We hope to visit again soon!

Little lunch break between museums. Decided to have some pasta, and what an amazing place. Even though the gnocchi was out of stock, Ana recommended going for the tagliatelle. Just perfection. Everything tasted homemade and right.

Dinner at Ciao Bella before our boat tour: The Melanzane alla Parmigiana tasted really good, but at 15 euros it was quite expensive for the portion size. The wine was less convincing - unfortunately of poor quality - and the water was served carelessly in a plastic bottle. Another negative point: 4 euros were charged for four small slices of baguette, which seems a bit excessive. The atmosphere also suffered from the fact that there were cleaning supplies everywhere. What should be highlighted positively, however, is the friendly staff who tried to make the stay pleasant. Conclusion: The culinary aspects are partly convincing, but the price-performance ratio and ambience clearly leave room for improvement.

We had a quick meal here before our theater performance. Recommended if you just want tasty, good Italian food.

Small place with 4 tables inside. It has takeout. The food is very delicious, very good Bolognese pasta, good wine and fantastic desserts. Also very good attention. It is a small thing, but a very good restaurant to eat delicious pasta at a good price and continue enjoying the city. It costs about €20-25 per person without wine.

Utrolig god mat. Jeg skulle gjerne dratt tilbake her og prøvd flere retter. Alt så veldig fristende ut. Jeg spiste en pannini (eller lignende) med kjøttboller. Det ble ikke en smule igjen. Hadde også en cappuccino som smakte fortreffelig. Også super service hos de to damene som jobbet der.

Small but very cozy place!! It is a family business with warm and welcoming staff. They took over the place about a year ago. The owner is a profesional chef with 10+ years experience in Italian cuisine. I had an amazing tagliatelle crema di fungi. Delicious food and beautiful location!! I would definitely recommend!

Italian food is as much about the people as it is about the food. As a foreigner, I feel that the essence of cultural cuisine doesn't translate well in a town where most people working in hospitality are cold and despondent. However, this is one of the exceptions. I stumbled in on a rainy weekday and found the most warm and charming people preparing lunches with great care. Returning a second time today for a beautiful homemade lasagne. What a gem of a place.

An Italian gem. We got food here for home. It was really delicious food even after heating it up in the microwave. Delicious ravioli with delicate flavors of mushrooms and truffle and of course cheese and cream sauce mixed with the minced meat. Super friendly service. The food is packed for you with great care.

Delicious, relaxed and great service!

A pleasant discovery. During our stay in Amsterdam we went there three times. A corner of Italy, where you can enjoy excellent first courses, from the most traditional to various vegetarian options. Fresh pasta, well cooked, al dente, which is not a given abroad. The arancini are excellent and the desserts are very tasty. Everything can be accompanied by glasses of Italian wine (grillo, ripasso, negroamaro, primitivo, soave, ribolla). Congratulations and thanks for welcoming us.

Stumbled upon this lovely spot for lunch. Window was inviting so we went inside. Fresh Italian pasta (all looked nice). Service was really friendly and efficient. Lasagna portion was really big so great value for money. Tasted lovely and would recommend. Nice and filling. Tomato soup looked really nice from the table next to us Would return.

The new owner (very kind Italian lady) further improved the Italian (lunch) restaurant / caterer Ciao Bella. The quality of the food is even better, several great pasta's are available, jointly with very tasty panini's. Finish your meal with a Borbonne espresso (no capuchino after 11am of course;-)) and you're in Italy. Highly recommended. The only rather strange change is they moved from san pellegrino 🇮🇪 to spa rood. Hopefully they will go back to san pellegrino as soon as possible... 😎

I am Italian, and this was the best pizza I tasted in Amsterdam. Bravi ragazzi.

We made a reservation at 8 p.m. for eight people and we showed up there, it seemed to bother them. 30 minutes later we had the table, at 9:35 pm they told us that we had to leave the table because they had to have it, there was absolutely no one waiting. Disastrous and discourteous treatment.

Meatballs and arancini were tasteless. The rest tasted basic. Missing variety in pasta’s. Not recommended for italian dishes, plenty of others around.

We were really looking forward to the food, but were then very disappointed. The food was only warmed up in the microwave, which in one dish resulted in the noodles becoming hard in some places due to the heating. In the other dish, the noodles were not fully cooked and were therefore very hard. When we gave notice, the pasta was put back in the microwave, which made the pasta softer but was still far from al dente. The reason given was that the noodles had been lying around for a few days. As an offer, the dish was made to me again with softer and more expensive noodles, but after the complaint the service was no longer particularly nice and in the end we were also charged the price for the more expensive noodles without this being discussed beforehand. No apology was made during the trial. We would strongly advise against a visit.
