A small, cosy restaurant. When I went, there was only one person working there, both cooking the food and taking orders. He was very friendly and the pasta was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. A simple dish made with great skill and high quality ingredients, and at a reasonable price.

I came by via the NeoTaste app where I had made a booking. Once I had placed an order for two pasta, it was indicated that neotaste had not been accepted for a few days, but the booking was still online. Very annoying because otherwise I would never have gone here. Because I was in a hurry and had already waited a while because there was only one employee in the store, I placed an order which ultimately cost me twice as much as what I had expected. The pasta was super salty. Too bad! Personally, I would also like some variation such as vegetables and protein in the pasta, which was not there now. What I also found very annoying is that the wait would be 10 to 15 minutes after the order, but it ended up being 30 minutes.

We ate there and had a great experience. The service was unbeatable, as were the dishes, and it was very affordable. We ordered the vegan pesto and walnut sauce, and they were delicious. The "pansoti in walnut sauce" are especially recommended; they're delicious!

Have been here several times and the pesto pasta is very tasty. I would recommend not going on a Sunday afternoon though as I went with a friend and we both got food poisoning within an hour of eating

I found the menu very unclear and small. It is a pasta place but they do not have basic pasta like spaghetti?! Also pesto is generally very salty by itself and there was a homemade pesto where you just tasted salt and you literally saw pieces of salt grains Not to mention all 3 containers of pasta were not cooked properly. Then you pay €1.50 extra for a container which seems reasonable until you receive the same portion in a larger cardboard container…! I could have bought this at the action a larger container Speaking of cardboard containers… You decide to eat there not to take it with you your pasta nicely served on a plate with cutlery (we only got a fork) I drove my partner crazy to want to eat here drove 45 minutes to eat pasta which then also cost around €15 which was not okay at all I hope the owner was not an Italian because then I would be deeply ashamed

Great service. I had trouble eating because I had a throat operation. I asked for a glass of water but got a whole bottle that you normally have to pay for for free!

Made us wait longer than five minutes at the counter until we could pay. Asked if we could pay, they snapped at us. Too bad if you want to eat there with the two of you

Wow, what a good place this is. I tried the classic Trofie with Pesto Genovese (partner de pansoti salsa di noci) and it is the most delicious pasta I have ever eaten. Perfect in all aspects. Trofie with pesto even tastier than the pansoti. Then a white chocolate and pistachio cake. Employees also friendly. Nice spot. Recommend lunch to everyone.

Simply great! The service was excellent – ​​super friendly and attentive. The portions are large and really fill you up. The young man we ordered from was particularly nice – very polite and personable. We had tagliatelle with pesto and trofie with salsa di noci - both were incredibly tasty and the sauce was more than generous. We also got a portion of parmesan. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent pasta, prices in my opinion even too low for Amsterdam. If I can afford fake wood cutlery, cardboard plates and paper cups are unbearable.

The pasta I had here was literally one of the best pastas I had in Amsterdam. It reminded me of my holiday in Italy. It’s a hidden gem for foodies in Amsterdam. A special mention to the host and the warm hospitality was something which I miss sometimes here in the city.

As an Italian I can say that I have finally found the real pasta with pesto in Amsterdam as well as the real and authentic focaccia from Recco! Like being in Liguria, crazy! And I can't wait to eat them again! ✨✨ 100% recommended and… you will never go back!

Unique place in Amsterdam for 3 simple reasons: trofie with pesto and Recco focaccia of a high standard even by Genoese standards, very generous portions and attentive and friendly staff. All in a welcoming and informal environment, at an affordable price. I'll be back for the pansoti with walnut sauce and the ravioli by touch!

This is the most amazing place in Amsterdam to eat good at reasonable prices, knowing off course that Amsterdam has overpriced restaurant with an average quality. Is not that I am publicizing anything here, but as a regular customer (I do take away because I’ve seeing that is always busy and they have a small place) this is where I always order. The pasta was good, but we were disappointed with the service and overall experience. They advertise that you can create your own pasta dish, so we chose tagliatelle and trofie. Turns out, after being served, that the trofie was unavailable, and we ended up with two servings of tagliatelle without anyone telling us. When I brought it up, the response was just a casual "Oh yeah, sorry, we ran out of trofie." If we had known that in advance, we would have picked a different second pasta because we were really excited to try something new. There are only two tables inside, so it felt like a bit of a struggle to grab a seat while others came in, even though they could have easily added a couple of more seats. On top of that, we waited 45 minutes for two simple pasta dishes that didn’t even match what we ordered. The price is good at €10.90 per pasta, but the long wait and wrong order without any heads-up made it a pretty disappointing experience. Maybe we'll give it another try someday, hoping for a better experience.

Maybe…use some…salt? it’s like salt is expensive to them? Food has no taste, is as bland as a Dutch sandwich and this is supposed to represent the great Italian cuisine I have heard so much about? The pasta was not very convincing and if this is a typical Italian dish, then I would say that Italians are easy to please. Go around the corner there is a pasta bar. Now that is food (and the spices come with it for free)!

I've tried the focaccia di Recco, and it was very good but definitely ridiculously small for the price. At the counter, 2 waiters, one very friendly and welcoming, the other one was with a long face, probably "wasn't his day". Not so many places respect that, but PestoLab does and that's why it's so special. Offering very simple, Italian tasty dishes. Please don't change! We couldn't wait to do photos.
