Pita in Burgwallen-Nieuwe Zijde

I ordered the lentil soup and the fried aubergine and, while I liked the lentil soup, the fried aubergine disappointed me a lot. Despite the name of the business and the pictures of the dishes on the screens at the restaurant, for some reason they served it in a tortilla wrap instead of a pita breas. It was not properly closed and the sauce fell everywhere, making it really uncomfortable to eat. The content of the wrap was also not worth the price (two pieces of aubergine, some salad and very spicy sauce for 10€). I think the place has a lot of potential but it should rethink some of the dishes, it seems other people also felt disappointed here.

Staff don't acknowledge you. After waiting a few minutes in an empty shop whilst the staff member had his head down and never looked up once I left and had a nice lunch around the corner!

Sohag is kind and helpful. He accepts or order upon late arrival and it is really delicious. The falafel is so delicious 🤤

The worst felafel I’ve ever had. My husband and I had such high hopes but it was not cooked properly and was tasteless. We ended up paying €12 each for a piece of bread, some salad and sauce.

I only had the wrap, cannot speak of the other foods; The portion size was terrible, the wrap half filled and not even closed properly, so while eating it falls out. It barely had anything inside beyond feta and lettuce. The ordering from a screen is annoying, but worse of all it shows a different, higher price than the menu outside!!! And on top of that they want to add extra for take-away. To be avoided

I say this as a Turk. I've been in the Netherlands for about three years and I've never had chicken döner this good. The presentation, the taste, the price, everything is perfect.

Absolutely delicious falafel with actually spicy harissa and fresh chillis.

We stopped by by chance to get a kebab. I had a classic kebab with meat, and my wife had the vegetarian kebab with falafel. As for the taste, it's excellent. The only downside is the greasy outdoor tables, partly due to people leaving a mess, and partly due to the owner, who could also have them cleaned.

Just great, deliciously seasoned, crunchy fries (best I've had) and very tasty falafel. They've got a chess-board and the vibe is very no-nonsense. Expensive, but for Amsterdam I was surprised. I paid €14,- for fries and a falafel roll and feel cheated only by capitalism, not the place. Thanks!

I wonder how a person can work alone on a Friday afternoon. The boy manages everything by himself. He washes tables and prepares sandwiches... I think it's impossible. Very slow.

We had their classic kebab with both sauces and we shared a regular seasoned fries. The best fries we had in Amsterdam. The service provided by the staff and the atmosphere in the restaurant itself was a bit lacking - the tables could use a cloth a little more often.

Pita was good, but soup is not delicious and really spicy. My wife felt very bad after the soup. When I came home I remembered that I had paid for extra suluguni cheese in the Pita, but they didn’t put any cheese in it.

If you're into mice running around the counter, which happened when I was there, this place is for you.

Best falafel I have had in my life, and the fries were unreal too

Hands down one of the best fresh döner kebab I’ve ever had in Amsterdam centraal. I’d recommend mixing both garlic and harissa together with the feta and get all the vegetables!

Incredibly mediocre falafel wrap. Bland doughy wholewheat wrap, minimal fresh herbs or veg, the falafel themselves lifeless large chickpea patties, and that all masked and drowned in a generic red spicy sauce. For €11 it has to be a lot better than this. No texture, no mix of fresh flavours, it may have been an off day, but this was really disappointing.

Soo good! Oh my gosh, great big portions. And the rice pudding is to die for 😍. We stopped by for brunch and our ravenous hunger was quickly settled at this little shop. If you need to stop by somewhere for lunch this is the place to go!!

we ordered one kebab with garlic sauce and one falafel wrap with extra feta along with the seasoned fries, i cannot describe how good this was. perfectly seasoned, delicious taste and nice presentation for a good price. would definitely come back.

Restaurant where you will find pitas, falafels, kebabs and salads, we tried the kebab and the falafel, the truth is that they were very good, above all I liked the kebab, it has a very good flavor, the chicken is very good, the falafel is also very good, price issue, because I find it a little expensive, the falafel is about €10 and the kebab is €12, but where I see the most robbery is with water, a bottle of 50cl €3.10 wow, the place is not very big, it has a few tables and a few others on the terrace, the worker is fast and efficient, recommended place.

It is a beautiful place, with outdoor tables, and is quiet. It accepts orders until 9:30 pm. I was surprised that there were no patrons in the place. Note that the food is not halal.

Food was delicious and the service was fast. Was shocked it was so empty when we went but it was delicious and so worth it.

I thought it was promising as part of the Breda group, but this is just an overrated and overpriced kebap sandwich. Thank you, next.

Always great food of the right quality. P.s. Through delivery services, the quality is in the hands of the deliverers. I just waited 2 hours for food, which does not improve the taste. Therefore the best experience fresh in the restaurant ;-)

Sorry, but this was really nothing. Paid 20 euros for fries and a "kebab" sandwich with "extra" meat. Kebab is just pulled chicken with very little flavor. It was also very cold. There was no one to be seen inside, so 1 employee was chilling. I think that's why the meat was cut off much earlier. That may explain the cold meat, but it's a disappointment. You do marketing well

Nice falafel, great chips. Came out quickly, lovely view of the square. Can only pay on QR code ordering with a Dutch bank card.

Unfortunately not recommended. Far too small portions for too much money. Taste OK. But the wrap consisted almost entirely of dough. An employee stood outside next to us smoking and kept spitting on the floor.

Overall the falafel pita really lacked flavour and didn't have any hummus in it or any other sauce, and we had to wait 20 mins for it, even when it wasn't busy, Better places to go for a falafel

A small place where you can order some comfort food on the way home/night out. There are vegetarian options over kebab. Fries are overloaded with thyme and salt, the food and prices are ok. The guy was playing a nice playlist and inside has a cool vibe.

Perfect chicken kebabs and chips. Hard recommend.

I was walking around the city when I suddenly smelled something amazing. I followed my nose and I ended up in this magnificent little restaurant. I ordered a kebab with garlic sauce. And Oh my god was it good. Honestly one of the best things I’ve eaten in my whole life. The cabbage and the chicken are perfect and the wrap was amazing. The place has a screen where you can easily order and the cook is very kind and nice. I’m definitely going back. I recommend it 100%. Ps: sorry for the bad pictures.

Previously this was a good thing. But recently the staff no longer opens their mouths to you. You just have to order from the robot. Previously, the portions were also different. Now you have to pay around 3 to 4 euros on top of your sandwich for the normal amount of meat. Otherwise you get half a sandwich for 11 euros. Furthermore, it was filthy and there was food everywhere on the table and on the floor. Shame.

We ate pita and it was delicious. The place is small but very close to the square. It is a good alternative for those looking for halal food.

Nice and tasty pitas, not extraordinary but good. Their self-order system is a bit weird and unnecessary in my opinion, but did the job.

A place where you can't expect a 10 star meal, but rather something quick to take away. For what you pay and get, it's not worth it.

During our visit to Amsterdam we decided to eat here at “Pita”. We ordered a falafel roll, a feta roll and a classic kebab. The falafel roll and feta roll were very tasty and the kebab was okay, but a little too small. The service wasn't that good because the woman who served us wasn't really motivated in her work and didn't really have a smile on her face. I also found it a little too expensive in terms of price. 🌸✨

We ordered from the screen and all 3 working girls were sullen and the questions we asked were answered as if we were forced to answer them and the coffees were big and the cups had a little bit of coffee.I do not recommend this place to anyone.do not spoil the taste of your mouth.

A bit of a tourist / hipster trap. Gets a lukewarm sandwich for too much money. Ordered garlic sauce for the fries, I didn't get it, it was on the pita side and not as depicted in a container on the ordering column... I don't care about the 75ct but it feels like ripping. Another place where the format is more important than the food🙄

Food tastes good and fresh. However, the bread (pita) is terrible. It's a) no real pita and b) completely falls apart while eating. Also, portion sizes are extremely small. I had two kebabs and could have easily eaten a third.

Tasty chicken flatbread with spicy harissa sauce. Its a bit expensive but location is in the centre. Cost is 11€ for a chicken pita.

...if these are the standards of food for dutch people, I can understand why when they visit my country (MEXICO ) immediately they fell in love with the food... The worst thing I've tried since I started traveling around east Europe. Very expensive and very bad. Really disgusting... I hope you can try a Mexican lentils soup and see the difference. Or a torta de pastor (our Mexican kebab) full of meat and no miseries...

I thought I would get a pita but I got a cold whole wheat wrap/tortilla case. It's better to go to the kiosk or the ah2go. Almost then. For the amount requested, I expect a loaf of bread that has been through the oven. The ayran tastes strange. Service is via a QR code, which I really like. The fries are very good even. A bit as if a Dutchman founded a Turkish snack bar.

The food was very tasty but the service very impersonal. You can only order via the QR code and not at the counter. The website where you have to order it is also not user-friendly. The food arrived at the table very quickly.

Hidden gem! I ordered the lentil soup with pita bread, amazing flavor, loved the price, but not so much the service. It’s self service with a machine that’s inside which is not that obvious imo, and the waiters were annoyed when I asked about how it worked. Regardless a must visit.

I took the eggplant tortilla. It was delicious. My friend took the falafel salad. The idea is great, it seems delicious, but it has its drawbacks. There was a lot of vinegar in the salad and there is a feeling that the oil in which the falafel was fried was not fresh, but we did not check. We also drank tea, but it was impossible to choose the type of tea. An employee brought tea with mint, ginger and spices. The tea is good.

The falafel is overcooked, the oil does not change at all in deep frying, this can be seen from the falafel crust. The salad itself was very sour due to the vinegar, and it made my mouth burn. The cook who cooked was stoned, his eyes were not visible at all. I was poisoned, I had vomiting and diarrhea all day, I do not recommend this establishment to anyone!!!!!

Bright, clean, and everything was made fresh/hot. Decent kebab, but the real star was the lentil soup. One of the best I’ve ever had.

We had Lentil Soup, Falafel Flatbread, Kebab Pita and fries. Overall everything was super delicious, especially the LENTIL SOUP!!!!! The best soup I’ve had! It was super delicious and very flavourful! If you like spices and authentic taste you should definitely try it. Soup was €4,5 and flatbreads and pittas are between €9-11. The place is located very centrally and they have cute little sitting area inside and outside as well! I would recommend it 🤩

Simple little place with reasonable prices. Of course, it is not worth waiting for a miracle. If someone is a little bored of the unseasoned food in the city, then this is an excellent place for a little more Greek flavors.

It’s a nice little spot, but the pita wraps are not made with whole flour tortillas.. they are very thin and not like the pitabread I’m used to at Greek pita places. So a bit disappointing and not super filling for the price you pay.

Solid restaurant or good for a quick snack. Friendly and quick service. The food was also tasty, but the price was a bit more demanding. Half a mini kebab like we know from Germany is available here for €11. Otherwise it's a nice thing!

When we ordered, there was one person in the kitchen, so we expected the processing time to be a little longer, but when two colleagues came and we still had to wait a good 15 - 20 minutes for two portions of fries, it was a bit sobering. Food from guests who came after us also came before us. In general, the fries were rather unseasoned (even though I ordered them differently) and not something I would eat again.

Had a quiet night on Saturday at 10pm so decided to close early. Quintessential Netherlands.

Such a cozy and comfortable place! We had a falafel pita and flatbread as well as their seasoned fries and i have to say even tho it’s been about a week i’m still thinking about their food, tasty, well cooked, crispy and mouthwatering 😮‍💨 their homemade lemonade was also very refreshing especially with the ginger kick in it 💙 a 10/10 place for me can’t wait to go back

I had really high hopes for this place but it turned out to be a major disappointment. There was no sauce on my falafel pita, I think the person who made my forgot to put it but still... I did take extra sauce on the side and expected a harissa and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce just tasted like sour cream though 🥲 It was really difficult to swallow the falafel. The kebab wrap was okayish and the major down point was that it was cold (???), don't know why he made the effort to wrap it in aluminium foil as well? The wholewheat flatbread just tasted like a raw tortillla. The 'kebab' was just regular doner that you can get from any Turkish snackbar, so definitely not worth the price. PLUS you have to pay €0,50 extra (per item) if you want takeaway!!! How does that make any sense?? I get the feeling that I paid for the packaging only. Personally I've tasted better falafel and kebab wraps/pitas so this place is definitely a no-go for me. If you like overpriced dry falafel, then go for it!

Popped in for a quick snack to shelter from the cold. Very pleasantly surprised with the result. A delicious aubergine wrap, extra crispy seasoned fries and a refreshing freshly made herbal tea. All served up by very polite young Dutch dudes. Of course you have to master the auto-order-machine before any of this is possible! But if you’re under 50, you’ll probably be ok! Highly recommended.

Not worth the price. The classic kebab was much smaller than expected considering the €12 price tag.
