Pita Palace in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

Terrible experience, completely ruined by one staff member: Juliette. She was rude from the start—unwelcoming, condescending, and visibly irritated by simple questions. When we asked about the menu, she replied with sarcasm and acted like we were wasting her time. Basic requests, like asking for clean cutlery, were met with sighs and eye-rolls. Her attitude was nothing short of toxic. She clearly has no understanding of customer service, no respect for her role, and no interest in making guests feel comfortable. In fact, she seemed far more invested in her own conversations than in doing her actual job. Frankly, someone like Juliette has no business working in hospitality. If this place cares at all about its reputation, she should be let go immediately. No amount of decent food can make up for service this bad. One employee like her can sink an entire business. Avoid until they clean up the staff.

Can't recommend this place enough , the night time views at the back of the venue are amazing. Such a cool vibe and the lovely staff made us feel right at home. Beautiful cat too!

It's a nice water channel ambiance. But the service is missing, the glass and the plate service sets are dirty and old.

If you go there only to smoke, it's fine. The atmosphere is cosy. But choosing it as a restaurant option was a huge mistake. The portion sizes are so small that we felt somewhat scammed. The smallest sausages and most depressing English breakfast I have ever seen in my life lol. Also, 6e for a cup of tea?? No judgement, but people working there are clearly smoking too much pot during work, so they should either stop pretending it is a place to come to eat or start focusing more on doing their job right.

If you like to wait over 30min for a single cocktail you will appreciate this place

Was here last night! Amazing place with great and welcoming vibes. Everything is on point, and we were treated so well by one of the bartenders called Andres. He was super cheerful, goofy but also professional. Me and my girl will definitely be back for more.

Good bar and lounge to chill at. They play old skool cartoons on the tv’s. Their drinks are nice too!

Don't go here guys, it's a scam. We ordered 4 big beers, instead they gave us 4 small ones (we already paid beforehand). When I tell the waiter she first tries to make an excuse on how the beer tank is broken, absolutely ridiculous as she knows that we ordered large beers and tried to get away with giving us small ones. Then she says she has to ask her manager what to do, then she comes back and tells us we will get another round from them (we are with 4 people), she ends up giving us only 2 extra beers, which we gotta share with 4. What kind of bar is this, how can you give such bad service. They try and scam us and when we call them out they don't even properly compensate us, these places should lose their permit, they ruin our city.

Nice cafe/bar with all kinds of relaxing seating as well as tables up to the rear if your dining. The cappuccinos were absolutely amazing from here. The staff we’re friendly but were a little off the ball for service. Also they only take card payment.

One of the greatest bars in dam! the staff are very accomodating, the bar is a very comfortable environment if you like to relax and have a smoke watch some sport with a beer and some great quality food at very reasonable prices its a great place to spend an afternoon.

BYOW! Marley's an awesome Bring Your Own Weed restobar/lounge type situation. You can't purchase anything there. However, uf you're a smoker, then bring your stash, find a seat, order a cold one and/or food and enjoy the good music and vibes. Rolling trays and papers are provided for use. The staff is AMAZING! Any staff that accommodates my crazy asks without question is golden! They are multilingual, attentive and do their best to see to it that your comfortable. Like anywhere worth being, the crowd may be larger than staff can handle and it may take it a minute. If this happens, don't be a douche canoë, and chill, be patient. I haven't have any food there yet because I didn't realize they served food until I saw what I thought was just a drinks menu. Spoiler alert; there's food on there. I'll update when i return. While you enjoy your tokes you can also challenge someone to a game of chess, sit in a bird's nest chair and look out onto the water, or maybe impress patrons with your fine piano skills. (Please ask before touching the piano. I'm not too sure you cn actually play it, I forgot to ask. Perhaps they will read this and let us know.) It's the typical small, tight bathroom down steep stairs situation. And ladies, also management, the hot water comes straight from hell in 10 seconds flat. Mind yourself when turning it on. I legit burnt my finger. Otherwise from what I could see, it seems to be a popular spot for travelers even just passing through. I can see why. I am returning. I highly recommend. One last thing; that Eagle mug was a way bigger drink than I was expecting. Plus a tequila shot. Enjoy!

Absolutely loved Marleys when in Amsterdam! Would definitely recommend coming in and seeing the friendly staff, the chillout room downstairs is amazing too!!

It's a cool and calm place, the service is just a little long, very quickly overwhelmed, the service is only done once you are seated at the table.

Waited 50 minutes for our drinks.

We waited 45 minutes for an order to be taken after asking twice. Another 20 minutes until our drinks are brought. The staff is unfriendly and disorganized. The ambience is very nice and you can sit down and relax. But we definitely won't be coming back. The service is a disaster!

The waiter completely ignored us, we were transparent! After about 45 minutes of waiting (just for a drink), my friend was served, and I was simply forgotten 😠 And the worst thing is that the waiter justified himself, he was extremely bad mannered and in the end according to him if he had forgotten my order...well it was his fault! 😳

Recently visited and ordered a chicken Caesar salad, not sure how unfresh he chicken was the salad leaves were like nettles and I had no Parmesan cheese and crouton when I asked the owner I was met with ‘we don’t have any’ and a shrug of the shoulders. I also asked for cutlery which he must of forgot so ended up gettin my own 🤦🏽 €14 for a few leaves, a couple of tomatoes, some very dried chicken and swimming in not a nice tasting dressing SO AVOIF FOR GOOD BUT OK FOR A SMOKE

Excellent place, staff are very nice, lots of seating space available and air conditioned! Haven’t tried the food but came here daily for a drink and smoke, very good atmosphere, clean and tidy!

Absolutely terrible, 40 minutes waiting for breakfast when was only 2 tables inside, us and one more, ruined our morning and made us late for our plans. Ps. We waited all this time, and still left with no breakfast. Disgusting.

Been going to this bar for a long time. Each time I go to Amsterdam it is a must too. The staff is the best and the vibe is awesome (good DJ’s and events). The food and drinks are both awesome I recommend to anyone going to Amsterdam for a visit to check the place out.

The site is excellent. Regarding the attention, they are super friendly, the food is very delicious and the drinks are delicious! They are pet-friendly, they have live music... The best of all is that you can smoke one quietly 😜

Went here at night, had just few beers so don’t know about the food but atmosphere is cozy and music was good, staff was really friendly and welcoming. Can pay only with card which was a - for us but maybe that is just after midnight. Also can smoke here but can’t buy any pot unfortunately.

Really loved this place. Was a nice upbeat place to chill out, very comfortable and good music. Great staff, atmosphere and vibes 👌 we came here several times a day.

I had the merguez, which was tasty and had a decent spicy kick to it. The owner was friendly and chatty. I think the restaurant was still quite new, when I visited (September 2022). Returned June 2024, unfortunately this place is closed and replaced by Marley's Coffee Shop.

We had a great time st Marleys. Even when we were not getting mashed up. Many hours sat in a swing, enjoying cocktails 🍸. When the say the edivals are strong, that are crazy. Don't fall asleep 😴 😁😆

Visited here a week was amazing fantastic atmosphere fantastic food and the staff are the best ever and shout out to the chef your mixed grill is the best will definitely be back and girls thanks for my cocktails they were all lovely and the glasses were awesome

I came especially after stocking up on all the European food. I did not expect such a level of service (not even from an Israeli restaurant), everything I wanted and dreamed of was in a restaurant and at the highest level, with the best service I received in gray Europe, as someone who lived here for a while this restaurant simply saved me and as a tourist I will return here

Cold, poorly defrosted pita, unfriendly staff, scammer by sneakily adding ingredients to finally count them extra.

A shame. Do not go here! I was disgusted to find an IKEA etiquette on my pita?? My friends and I waited a long time to be served? People who came in later were helped and not us? Please do NOT go here. Absolutely not.

Essen war super lecker.... Man wird gefragt ob man Avocado oder Fritten möchte aber es wird nicht gesagt was es zusätzlich kostet. Getrennt zahlen ist auch nicht möglich wahrscheinlich weil dann auffällt das Fritten usw. ordentlich dazu kosten. Auch hat man uns vorne im Eingang geparkt weil es noch leer war wahrscheinlich um Leute anzulocken. Den schönen hinteren Teil haben wir nicht gesehen. Dafür wahrscheinlich eine fette Erkältung bekommen wegen der kalten Zugluft im vom Kellner selbst ernannte Vip Bereich. Schade eigentlich ein super Tip für Amsterdam

Honestly the best food I ate in Amsterdam! Randomly stumbled across it on my first night just walking around alone, saw they had some vegetarian options on the menu so figured I'd give it a try - but I was not expecting such an impressive view from the tables at the back of the restaurant! The service was amazing - Qasim was so professional and friendly, he is genuinely the perfect host! It was such a pleasure meeting you Qasim, I really do hope to come back and see you again in the future :-) I had the vegan kebab and it was so good that I dragged my parents half way across the city (after a long day of walking) just to eat here again a couple of nights later! They usually don't eat this style of food but they loved their meals as much as I did! The ingredients are sooo fresh, and the pitas are actually made on site (nothing frozen). I cannot recommend Pita Palace enough!

Tasteless food, long time waiting

Very poor service, food not so tasty, probably the bread is bought and not home made, and the music was really too loud and not suitable for the place. We also had a look at the kitchen afterwards, and we found it quite dirty and messy. I would recommend improving kitchen, service and atmosphere.

Fantastic service for us plus our baby. The waiter was wonderful. We had Pitas (chicken and beef), French fries and a salad, they were all delicious. The restaurant had a nice vibe, good atmosphere.

Great spot. The food came out fast and the service was really good. The dish I got was the chicken shawarma plate. It came with a nice salad, a lot of chicken and some cooked veggies. It had a lot of flavor. I would come back here again.

Heerlijk eten! Totaal iets anders dan wat ik tot nu toe gegeten heb maar het was voortreffelijk. Licht gekruid en alles smaakt anders, de service is prima en Engelstalig. Openbaar Vervoer is noodzakelijk want parkeren hier is eigenlijk onmogelijk, misschien de parkeergarage bij het Centraal Station en dan een wandeling naar het restaurant.
