Polly Goudvisch was a fantastic choice for our team dinner and easily accommodated our group of 15. The ferry ride over was incredibly easy, though tourists should note there is a last return ferry, so don’t book too late and risk missing it. The food was absolutely incredible, matched only by the outstanding service throughout the night. One thing to be aware of is that the bathroom is up a very steep set of stairs, which could be challenging for anyone with accessibility needs, though this didn’t impact our experience. Overall, this is a must-stop spot with amazing food, great service, and a memorable setting.

The breakfast croissant was warm and crispy, delicious! However, I only got a knife and no fork, so it was a bit of a mess. The cappuccino was okay. The kids' mini hamburger only had a plain bun with a plain hamburger patty. No lettuce, tomato, or cucumber. One drop of sauce. That's it. With a small portion of fries, which my son thought were okay, and a small container of mayonnaise for €10, I thought it was ridiculously bad. The banana cake was quite large and tasted good. The service is very friendly and goes above and beyond when it's busy, recognizing you when you return. The restrooms were spotlessly clean.

When things get busy they get stressed and panic

We ate here yesterday on a company outing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! The confit duck leg and the mushroom pâté were my personal favorites. We also enjoyed the delicious cocktails; definitely recommended!

A very pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view of the water. The food is good, and the service is friendly. A separate room can be reserved for groups of up to about 12 people. Excellently organized.

Great location at the Centraal to Buiksloterweg ferry exit. Stopped by for a beer and a late-light lunch, sat outside on a rare sunny day in December. Good selection of beers on tap, the crispy chicken sandwich and Parmesan and truffle fries were delicious.

Visiting Amsterdam again, came across this plave which is right next to the river. What can I say aside from absolutely lovely, the food was very good (bedt steak sandwich i habe EVER had) lovely staff, great atmosphere!! Highly recommend!!

We had breakfast here, and I had French toast, which I think was the best I've ever had. My girlfriend also had a truly delicious chai latte, which I highly recommend!

Great place. Fantastic location. They make amazing coffee. It's very busy though; the bar is always full. They're trying their best, but it's quite chaotic, so they can't do more. So it depends on what you're in the mood for!

Dessert and truffle fries were quite nice. Food portions are small for the prices that they have. Service was absolute garbage. Waiter was rude on multiple occasions to different people at the table.

Sigh... This is really hard. We went into the restaurant around 2:40 PM, ordered drinks first, and then ordered food at 2:45 PM. It was past 3:30 PM and the food still hadn't come out, so I asked a staff member. They said they'd check and let me know, but they didn't let me know again. I went again around 3:45 PM to ask another staff member, and they apologized and gave me water. The food came out fifteen minutes later at 4 PM; if it seemed like it was going to take a long time to come out, shouldn't they have told me in advance or at least given me an estimate? It's not like I'm ignoring people, and I understand they're busy, but this just doesn't feel right. When the food came out, I was so angry that I couldn't even taste it and wanted to go home. Only go if you have a lot of time; what's the point of having a lot of staff? Haha. Honestly, I ordered two dishes, and I wouldn't know if it was something that would take a long time, but it wasn't and it only took five minutes to eat.

Went there yesterday with a few colleagues and this place remains a great place. The staff, in particular, makes the evening much more enjoyable.

Good place to sit down for a bit. The wooden benches are far from comfortable, but beside that; Nice menu & terrace, service (even when top-busy hours) and nice location.

I've been here several times, just yesterday. Since I was alone, it wasn't obvious to the waitress that I wanted the menu straight away. We spoke briefly and clarified the situation. Afterward, I had another incredibly good and delicious meal. The filet was almost too large for medium, but just about perfect. The tiramisu was fantastic. On a previous visit, the double cheeseburger was also very good. I highly recommend it if you're willing to spend a few euros more for quality. Next time, definitely go to Polly :-)

A restaurant where I couldn't eat! We had 1 hour to spare to drink beer and eat the main course (it was meat). It seemed enough, but no. The beer was brought quickly, but we never got the food, even though I was rushing the waiter. At the same time, the people who came at the same time as us had already finished eating. Then I asked the waiter to pack some for us to take away, even though it was inconvenient for us. Apparently, this kind of service is not provided in the restaurant, because there wasn't even a bag to put it in. A good place only for having a couple of glasses of beer with a friend in a pleasant atmosphere without food

I was completely amazed ! The service, the food and the wine were magnificent ! I have never had a better piece of chicken in any restaurant anywhere. And my wife's steak was done to perfection. With good reason we like to complain about restaurants in Amsterdam, but Polly Goudvisch should actually get an extra star. 5 is just not good enough to describe the simple dining pleasure we experienced.

Great place, friendly service, but the food wasn't anything special. My wife had the couscous salad, but it was bland and inedible. The staff did ask if she enjoyed it, but they didn't act on the feedback. A shame, because it's otherwise a nice place.

Steak sandwich was delicious. Staff was very friendly, cute café.

On August 24, we went to have a bite to eat. We sat outside. A waitress came and told my wife and child that they had to finish the food they hadn't bought from them, outside the restaurant. OK. My wife and child finished their food in 3 minutes and came back. During those 3 minutes, I asked to wipe the table, it was dirty with grease and sauce from the previous customers. The dirty area was where my friend and I were sitting, but the waitress said that my wife had gotten it all dirty and began to wipe the table with a sponge with foam, which began to pour down on my feet. Foam pours down on the cream pants. Finally we placed an order and they brought us a Doppelter Cheeseburger. They were simply covered in fat, especially the buns. We ate it all with difficulty. Because of that amount of fat, it was all not tasty. I do not recommend coming here at all.

Polly Goudvisch is located next to the ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Noord (Buikslotermeerplein). From the covered terrace, you have a view of the ferry and the IJ River. Very lively! I had a salad, and it was delicious!

My charcuterie plate was just the right size and the various meats were delicious. Two others in our group enjoyed the steak frites, but the cheeseburger was too well done. This is a good place for people watching as it's right across from the ferry dock.

We ate here tonight, the day before sailing... it will be even better tomorrow with the view of the water; ships really come close. The food was delicious, the terrace was lovely, and the service was super friendly and attentive, with personal attention... highly recommended.

We sat inside as it was really hot outside. Lots of seating (inside and out) which was great. Menu is amazing, lots to choose from! My son had the avocado on toast (first time trying it) and said it’s the best breakfast he’s ever had! I had the Eggs Atlantic…always my favourite breakfast so a lot of pressure for them to get it right and it was AMAZING! My mum had the granola and said it was the best breakfast she had the whole of our 4 day break. My other son had a croissant which he enjoyed. We were in a bit of a rush after getting off the boat and then needing to go to the Lookout so was a little worried incase we were late to our Lookout booking but service was really quick (we hadn’t told them we were in a rush). Staff were really welcoming and happy. Would highly recommend this place and hope to visit again some day.

Had such a lovely waitress serve us! Thank you for arranging a cozy spot for a wheelchair to fit at. Just ate some snacks which were great & the terrace was nice to people watch.

An easy to access, well located cozy restaurant right next to the ferry port. The staff were kind and helpful, the food was good, but not special. After a pigeon left an unwanted gift on the table and on my hand, we felt ourselves a bit uncomfortable. I think the placing of the table under the roof is not “safe”. After this, seeing a RAT on the roof right above us was scary and disgusting. Please do something, because this little zoo is surely unwanted…

Great food! We had steak frites, chicken Normande and a chicken Caesar salad. All reasonably priced and very tasty. Service was very good and we didn’t mind a wait for dessert. Great to pop over on the free ferry from Centraal.

Unfortunately, our visit didn’t quite live up to expectations. The service started off friendly, but our mains order was forgotten, which meant quite a long wait after our starters. During that time, we were offered a sparkling lavender lemonade it sounded lovely, but sadly it had no real taste of lavender or lemon, just sweetness. The food was a mixed bag: The rillettes were overly salty. The celeriac lacked flavour, and the romesco sauce didn’t add much. The cheeseburger was overcooked, and the bread was burnt. While there were some kind gestures, the overall experience both in service and food quality wasn’t what we hoped for.

A really nice restaurant right before (or after) the ferry. You can sit inside or outside. The staff pays close attention to the guests and works well together.

While visiting the North, on the way back we stopped for lunch. The staff, food, and venue were all excellent.

The food looked and tasted fine. There were three of us, and we all had different dishes, such as tomato soup, a Caesar salad, and the eggplant alla parmigiana. After a short time, all three of us experienced severe gastrointestinal problems. This really only leads us to conclude that certain ingredients were bad and/or that the hygiene in the kitchen was poor. Unfortunately, that's an absolute no-go for us if you experience health problems after eating. Hence, only one star and no recommendation.

Grabbed a drink here in my last night in Amsterdam. Great drink, great bar staff, amazing vibes all around. Definitely worthwhile if you’re in that area of the city.

We sat outside on the terrace, and it was lovely to watch people getting on and off the ferry. Service was a bit slow, unfortunately; we even saw people walk away because they didn't make initial contact. They were clearly understaffed. The food was good, but the price-quality ratio was off.

We come here each time we meet with friends. Nice spot to have food and meet in the "middle"..Will come here again

Everything was great, one of the best burgers ever! I've had quite a few, but this one was particularly delicious, with that "piccalilly"-style sauce and the fluffy bun, truly flavorful and unique. The Benedict toast was also delicious. I'd go back anytime.

We stayed at the SiR Adam and were so glad to find Polly Goudvisch close by and right off the Ferry. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable with lots of outside and indoor seating options. The lunch menu is efficient and appetizing to whatever you’re in the mood for. The quality and presentation were perfect. We returned for Dinner and wasn’t as pleased, but it was just one dish - Chicken Caesar salad. On two attempts from the kitchen we just didn’t find the chicken to be of good quality. In both trips the service, attitude and banter with wait staff was fantastic. They were fun, energetic and helpful. One caution for visitors, the stairs to the restroom are very steep! This is an Amsterdam thing which didn’t bother us, but notable. So glad we found Polly!

The steak sandwich was just delicious. One of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Cheesecake was also good. Service was very friendly. Location is excellent next to the ferry. Prices aren't as high as you would expect.

Once again we had a great meal last Friday and were able to sit on the terrace for a long time (now with a 'large' group) at Polly's. The service was great (Maartje) and made for even more fun at Polly's. Good food with good prices! This time we did see rats running across the terrace and against the wall later in the evening, but that remains a 'thing' in the city🫣 Vr gr Weerribben holiday villa

Went here for dinner on holiday after finding it online. I would definitely recommend this place as it was quiet, the staff were very friendly and the food was very nice. The pricing as well I thought was very reasonable for the amount of food you had.

Great location, very friendly staff who really run and fly for you! Freshly squeezed orange juice is always a winner. But the Caesar salad is also highly recommended. Fast service. I will definitely come here again.

Favorite place to have a drink in Amsterdam Noord. Nice atmosphere, smooth Dutch speaking service. Lots of choice in beers. We park in Noord and cross with the ferry to Central. Saves a lot of parking costs 😅

Nice location on the IJ. Service very disinterested. Reserved but the table was in a closed part of the terrace!? So another place. The young lady who served us radiated disinterest!! Just stopped in for a couple coffees and a beer (all three enjoyable), but the waiter who seated us didn't seem too thrilled we came in.

The Caesar salad with chicken is crap. Lettuce is good but the chicken is very greasy from the frying and there is more than chicken????? Then sick from the chicken pieces and both of us sick and on the toilet all evening. The Pinot Grigio was nice though.

The three of us had lunch on the terrace. Out of the wind and nice and central. We all had the same thing; ginger tea and a delicious avocado sandwich with egg.
