Pommes Frites in Halfweg

We thought we'd grab a quick bag of fries. We frequent the Amsterdam outlet and have also been to Pommes before. We were more than satisfied. This time, there were three young adults serving. Sorry, but it's gone downhill fast. There's nowhere to sit. The heaters aren't on outside (though they are at Starbucks), but we're sitting on the umbrellas. Now, you get the sauce on the side. How do you do that with a cone? I still had a croquette sandwich, without sauce. Where do I put it? They never asked if I wanted sauce. Once I received the cone, it was moderately full and the fries lukewarm. I felt sour all evening. What I also found odd was that the friends of the guy behind the counter both got a cone without paying. Very strange. We won't be back.

Paying extra for a little mustard on your cheese soufflé? So sad!

The menu was in Dutch and we didn’t understand it, but Rustam at the counter spoke Turkish and helped us. Thank you for the friendly and cheerful service.

I ordered, and he charged for the sauce, but didn't get it. Then I asked for it. His colleague said, "He's right." But the young man with long hair and glasses was very rude and unfriendly to me. Don't come back, ever again.

The staff could use a boost in energy and enthusiasm. The fries were fried too soft, and sales were slow.

Unfriendly staff weren't allowed to eat inside despite the rain. All the staff were swearing at us with illnesses, which was really unacceptable. The food was okay.

They work very slowly, even when busy. The staff lacks a good atmosphere. A simple "hello" and "please" are simply not an option. It's a shame for such a great company.

Unfortunately, a 30-minute wait for fries turned out to be a bit excessive, especially considering the end result. For a restaurant that focuses specifically on fries, I expected more in terms of quality and preparation. Practical Concerns One particularly inconvenient detail: when you order mayo, you get a separate small container. This isn't ideal when you're strolling through Sugar City and actually just want to eat your fries on the go. A bit more user-friendliness wouldn't go amiss. Service and Hygiene Inside, the floor was messy, which doesn't contribute to a pleasant dining experience. It also became clear why it was taking so long: there were only two people behind the counter, with one girl both frying and bagging the fries. For a busy Saturday afternoon, three staff members is simply not enough to handle the crowds. Conclusion Pommes Frites at Sugar City clearly has a popular location, but the execution is lacking. The combination of long wait times, mediocre quality fries, awkward packaging, and understaffing makes it undesirable. For the price and effort, you're probably better off going elsewhere for your fries in Sugar City.

What bad fries here! Was shopping and thought, nice, get fries. I ordered oorlog, no we don't have satay sauce. Ok, then with truffle mayo, inedible! The whole cone was pumped full of sour truffle sauce, there was no salt on the limp fries, so soggy things because the sour nasty sauce was all the way to the bottom of the bag. That for almost 5 euros!! walk away if you don't want heartburn..

Fries were ok, even a bit better than what you would expect from a place like this. Service itself was completely fine, but the way they serve the fries is so bad. The fries are in a paper holder and all the sauces are just put on the top so it’s impossible to eat it without getting really nasty.

Dutch fries very tasty. Unfortunately also quite expensive. There is seating outside, but very poor in rainy weather.

At the cash register it says on the screen that you get free topping with a large fries. When paying, I am told that the promotion only starts tomorrow. This is misleading to customers. If the promotion starts the next day, only put it on the screen as an offer at the end of the day and not before the offer starts. Disappointing for such a company. Don't come here again

Bought a bag of fries with sauce to share. The taste was okay, well-fried fries and enough sauce. So not very special, but better than other things you can get in the styles. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. So price quality is fine. There are no seats inside. There is a terrace where you can sit outside.

These people want to get rich very quickly. Few and cold fries for a lot of money. People don't go here, waste of your money.

Better not buy here, blonde woman, not child friendly, make a fuss for a bowl while I also want to pay for it!! Ridiculous fries are good but start with your staff first

Let's start with the positive, ordering went smoothly and we didn't have to wait long for the fries. Then you get more majo than fries, which is a thing with fries in a cone. Ultimately I was able to partially eat bag 1 of fries, then fill the half-empty bag with the majo from the other bag. The 'clean' bag might as well have been lost to the tsunami of majo. Shame, a lot of money for little, I will never come here again.

The tastiest fries ever. Friendly staff. It's just a pity that there are no tables inside. Only outside. And since it's getting a little colder now, this is a less pleasant place to eat your delicious bag of fries!

Slowest service i’ve ever seen and low quality fries

I was helped by a very slow, unfriendly young man who gossiped in Turkish for a long time about his colleague in front of her unsuspectingly. Then he doesn't give me my fries, but he orders the colleague in question to help me... What kind of staff do you hire? I might as well go to the chip shop and make my own fries, which is probably faster.

Service was very bad, I had to wait 40 minutes before my food was ready.

Bad service, the employees simply don’t know how to serve customers. Just a few customers in, but serving so slow and uninspiring. Quality of the fries is stunningly low. Undercooked and raw. Worst fries I ever had.

Don't get fries here!!! You get cold fries from Gargamel with a Rotterdam accent for the price you pay. What a monstrosity. Terrible staff. The lady who smiled kindly at me made up for the cold fries. I've been struggling with this for days

Very friendly lady behind the cash register called Esgi or Ezgi I thought. The lady cooked my fries exactly as I asked, which was very nice. I have to mention that the fries this time were so much better fried than before! Please keep it like this💪🏼

I personally had a very good experience, the staff was really nice and kind. Went for a Fries craving, they were good and sauce served separately. It was just before closing so no queue It’s a takeaway food, fair and normal price

It takes a long time for your food to arrive, the order is wrong and the chicken nuggets taste like wet dog

The girls who were working yesterday night was absolutely awesome. We arrived at there just some minutes before the closing and they were so kind, letting us take our time to order and enjoy our lekker fries indoors. The food was sooo lekker and fresh. We will be back for sure 🙏

Service is not good anymore. Stuff is slow, do not seem to know what they doing.

Patat was lauw maar redelijk van smaak. We hadden een groot besteld maar wat we kregen is elders klein. Tafels buiten waren vies.

Decent fries when you actually get it - which could be 10 to 20 minutes after you order cause the staff can't stop chit-chatting with each other. They had 4 girls working today and all they did was talk and laugh while the fryers were not even loaded. And even when the fries are ready, the girls won't get the food to you until they're done talking and sipping their Starbucks drinks on the side. You're much better off getting food elsewhere to be honest.

zit gelijk vol van de patat daarom 2 sterren,maar te veel mayo en teveel zout, dus daar komt het door

Lekkere patat, uitstekend gebakken. Tikkeltje aan de zoute kant. Mayonaise neigt naar de Belgische stijl. Vind ik persoonlijk een lekkere afwisseling. Verwacht zeker geen fritessaus smaken!

It's a decent place for some fast dinner, I went here just before closing and I got a lot of fries for cheap. The fries were quite good but rather salty. I'd recommend it, if you like fries and/or frikandellen but there are better places in the outlet.

Chicken nuggets are disgusting and the worst I tried in my life. Fries quite average. Staff is friendly.
